System Realization for Video Surveillance with Interframe Probability Distribution Analysis

  • A system realization for video surveillance with interframe probability distribution analysis is presented in this paper. The system design is based on a high performance DSP processor, video surveillance is implemented by analyzing interframe probability distribution for scanning objects in a restricted area and the video analysis algorithm is decided for forming a different image from the probability distribution of several frames compressed by the standardized JPEG. The algorithm processing time of D1($720{\times}480$) image per frame is 85ms.

Performance Analysis of TH-BPPM and TH-BPAM UWB System and the Applications in Data and Image Transmission

  • In this paper, we mainly analyze the performance of two ultra wideband communication systems, the classical Time Hopping Binary Pulse Position Modulation (TH-BPPM) UWB system and the Time Hopping Bipolar Pulse Amplitude Modulation (TH-BPAM) UWB system. The performance of TH-BPPM and TH-BPAM is analyzed in detail under an ideal AWGN channel and a correlation receiver. We use the power spectral density function to get the expression of BER of these two UWB systems. It yields simple and exact formulas relating the performance to the system parameters. The analysis shows that TH-BPPM suffers performance degradation with respect to TH-BPAM. Furthermore, we give the computer simulation of both data and image transmission and our simulation results also prove our theoretical analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 비젼 시스템을 이용하여 이동 물체를 추적하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이동 물체를 계속적으로 추적하기 위해서는 이동 물체의 영상이 화상의 중심점 부근에 위치하도록 해야 한다. 따라서 이동 물체의 영상이 화상의 중심점의 부근에 위치하도록 하기 위하여 팬/틸트(Pan/Tilt)구조의 카메라 모듈을 제어하는 퍼지 제어기를 구현하였다. 향후, 시스템을 이동로봇에 적용하기 위하여 비젼 시스템을 위한 영상처리보드를 설계 제작하였고, 대상물체의 색상과 형태를 파악한 후 퍼지 제어기를 이용하여 카메라모듈이 물체를 추적할 수 있도록 StrongArm 보드를 이용하여 구성하였다. 그리고, 실험에 의해서 제안된 퍼지 제어기 가 실시간 이동물체 추적 시스템에 적용 가능함을 확인 하였다.

Jointly Image Topic and Emotion Detection using Multi-Modal Hierarchical Latent Dirichlet Allocation

  • Image topic and emotion analysis is an important component of online image retrieval, which nowadays has become very popular in the widely growing social media community. However, due to the gaps between images and texts, there is very limited work in literature to detect one image's Topics and Emotions in a unified framework, although topics and emotions are two levels of semantics that often work together to comprehensively describe one image. In this work, a unified model, Joint Topic/Emotion Multi-Modal Hierarchical Latent Dirichlet Allocation (JTE-MMHLDA) model, which extends previous LDA, mmLDA, and JST model to capture topic and emotion information at the same time from heterogeneous data, is proposed. Specifically, a two level graphical structured model is built to realize sharing topics and emotions among the whole document collection. The experimental results on a Flickr dataset indicate that the proposed model efficiently discovers images' topics and emotions, and significantly outperform the text-only system by 4.4%, vision-only system by 18.1% in topic detection, and outperforms the text-only system by 7.1%, vision-only system by 39.7% in emotion detection.

A Study on Image Recommendation System based on Speech Emotion Information

  • In this paper, we have implemented speeches that utilized the emotion information of the user's speech and image matching and recommendation system. To classify the user's emotional information of speech, the emotional information of speech about the user's speech is extracted and classified using the PLP algorithm. After classification, an emotional DB of speech is constructed. Moreover, emotional color and emotional vocabulary through factor analysis are matched to one space in order to classify emotional information of image. And a standardized image recommendation system based on the matching of each keyword with the BM-GA algorithm for the data of the emotional information of speech and emotional information of image according to the more appropriate emotional information of speech of the user. As a result of the performance evaluation, recognition rate of standardized vocabulary in four stages according to speech was 80.48% on average and system user satisfaction was 82.4%. Therefore, it is expected that the classification of images according to the user's speech information will be helpful for the study of emotional exchange between the user and the computer.

Multipath를 고려한 수중영상 전송 시스템 설계 (A Design of Acoustic-based Underwater Image Transmission System Based on the Multipath Analysis.)

  • 본 논문은 수중에서 초음파를 이용하여 데이터를 전송할 때 전체 전송성능에 영향을 주는 Multipath를 수학적으로 분석하였고, 분석된 결과를 이용하여 다중경로의 영향을 고려한 수중 초음파 영상통신 시스템을 설계하였다. 주파수 제약환경에 강인한$\pi/4 QPSK$ 알고리듬을 채택하였고, 수중 초음파 통신에서 발생하는 신호의 Ringing 효과를 상쇄하기 위하여 FM 변조방식을 가미한 Hybrid 변복조 시스템을 설계하였다. 또한, 다중경로의 영향을 상쇄하기 위하여 적응 등화기를 설계하였으며, Baseline PEG 기법을 이용하여 수중영상 압축에 대한 연구를 수행하였다.

Building a Sustainable Competitive Advantage for Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Firms: An Empirical Investigation of Contributing Factors

  • Purpose - The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors contributing to sustainable competitive advantage for multi-level marketing (MLM) firms in Malaysia. The selected variables in this study are company image, product innovation, leadership, distributor rewards system and distributor training system. Research design, data, and methodology - Quantitative research method is employed with collected sample size of 398 respondents using judgmental sampling technique. Normality and reliability test were performed in the first stage utilizing SPSS 22 and Confirmatory Factory Analysis (CFA) and variance analysis were obtained in the subsequent stage, following up with the overall fit of the measurement model, Structural Equation Model (SEM) using AMOS 22 with maximum likelihood estimation to assess the internal consistency, convergent validity and discriminant validity. Results - The research findings show that company image, leadership, distributor rewards system and distributor training system were supported and are factors affecting the sustainable competitive advantage of MLM companies in Malaysia. However, in this study, product innovation was not supported but this result does not depict that it is trivial and inconsequential in maintain sustainable advantage. Conclusion - Companies can build sustainable competitive advantage by focusing on these contributing factors. Several other comments and implications were brought to light and discussed in the paper.

Digora$\textregistered$에서 정량영상의 특성에 대한 평가 (The Assessment on the Characteristics of Quantitative Image in Digora$\textregistered$)

  • Purpose: To clarify the usefulness and the limitation of Digora system/sup (R)/ by evaluating the physical characteristics as the quantitative image on Image Plate(Ip). Materials and Methods: Radiograms were taken by Heliodent MD(Siemens Co.. Germany) with the image plate for adult. Cu-step wedge as reference material. and three pieces of dry mandibular bone. Image analysis was performed by single color enhancement. density measurement with histogram. The relationship between the exposure conditions and the distribution of the pixel values of the image. the variation of pixel values of each step of Cu-step wedge at two different area and Cu-equivalent value of three pieces of dry mandibular bone measure by the conversion equation. Results: There was no linear relationship between the exposure condition and the average pixel value of the image. of which the distribution was not even. The pixel value differences between the center portion and the periphery were ranged from 60 to 70 in vertical plane and from 15 to 26 in horizontal plane. Two plot profile formed at two different areas of the Cu-step wedge were different. The measured Cu-equivalent values showed the discrepancy among the times of measurement. Conclusion: As above results. Image Plate(Ip) of Digora system/sup (R)/ showed the limitation as the quantitative image. The physical property of IP was expected to need to be compensated for the quantitative evaluation of the bone or others

퍼지적분을 이용한 영상품질의 객관적이고 정량적 평가: 팬톰 연구 (Objective and Quantitative Evaluation of Image Quality Using Fuzzy Integral: Phantom Study)

  • 물리적 평가(physical evaluation)가 영상품질의 객관화와 정량화를 위한 토대를 제공함에도 불구하고, 부정확하고 가변적인 특성을 지닌 주관적 평가(subjective evaluation)가 영상평가에 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 방사선 영상의 물리적 평가와 주간적 평가의 단점을 상호 보완하고 객관적 정량화를 위한 새로운 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 임상에 사용되고 있는 4대의 디지털 방사선 영상 촬영장치로부터 동일한 임상조건에서 흉부 팬톰 영상을 획득하였다. 물리적 영상평가를 위하여 디지털 흉부 팬톰 내에서 3개의 영역(폐, 심장, 그리고 복부)에 존재하는 CNR (contrast-to-noise ratio)를 측정하였고 분할(segmentation)과 정합(registration)등 다양한 영상처리기술이 적용되었다. 주관적 평가는 5명의 관찰자에 의한 저 대조도 물체의 식별 정도를 점수화 하였다. 두 평가의 특성을 보완 및 결합하고자 퍼지적분 이론이 도입되었다. 4대의 시스템으로부터의 평가결과가 비교되었으며, 물리적 평가와 주관적 평가가 항상 비례하지 않음을 보였다. 물리적 평가에서는 높은 점수를 보였던 시스템이 주관적 평가에서는 상대적으로 낮은 평가를 보였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 퍼지적분에 의한 영상평가의 정량화는 물리적 평가와 주관적 평가를 모두 포함하는 총체적인 평가 방법이며, 다양한 영상품질 평가에 유용할 것이라 사료된다.

  • 산업재산권중 하나인 상표에 대한 효율적인 이미지 검색은 상표도용 및 이로 인한 분쟁을 방지할 수 있다. 이를 위해서 효율적인 내용기반 유사이미지 검색이 하나의 방안이 될 수 있다. 본 논문은 상표이미지로부터 회색조 히스토그램(gray histogram) 분석을 통하여 가시적인 자질을 추출하여 Self Organizing Map(SOM) 알고리즘을 적용한 내용기반 유사이미지 검색시스템을 이용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 내용기반 유사이미지 검색시스템의 정량적인 성능평가 방안을 제시하여 본 연구에서 개발한 이미지 검색 시스템의 객관적인 성능평가를 수행하였다.
