Development and Application of Questionnaire for Self-Understanding and Change Capacity Related to Science Education: Focus on the Recognition of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers (과학교육 관련 자기이해와 변화역량 조사 도구 개발 및 적용 -초등예비교사의 인식을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the questionnaire on pre-service elementary teachers' recognition of self-understanding and change capacity for science education and to investigate their recognitions with it. At the beginning of the study, we made a tool to investigate the self-understanding and change capacity of pre-service elementary teachers through literature review and discussions. The former half of the questionnaire was related to self-understanding with factors such as 'self-concept clarity,' 'career identity' and 'self-efficacy:' 'self-understanding as a pre-service elementary teacher' (12 items) and 'self-understanding as a pre-service elementary science teacher' (12 items). Its latter half was about the change capacity with factors such as 'change sensitivity,' 'goal consciousness,' 'collaboration,' 'reflection,' and 'mastery.' It consisted of three parts: 'general change capacity,' 'change capacity as a pre-service elementary teacher' and 'change capacity as a pre-service elementary science teacher' with 17 items, respectively. With this tool, we surveyed 153 pre-service elementary teachers. The results are as follows: First, pre-service elementary teachers have a positive recognition about self-understanding and change capacity, but the recognition of self-understanding and change capacity as pre-service elementary science teachers were relatively less positive. Second, factors of self-understanding and change capacity as pre-service elementary science teachers have a significant correlation with each other. Especially, there was a high correlation between 'self-efficacy' of self-understanding and 'goal consciousness' and 'mastery' of change capacity. Based on these results, some implications for self-understanding and change capacity related to science education were discussed.

A Study on Preservation Metadata for Long Term Preservation of Electronic Records (전자기록의 장기적 보존을 위한 보존메타데이터 요소 분석)

  • For long-term preservation of electronic records, the information on the whole processes of management from the time of creation of the electronic information should be captured and managed together. Such information is supported by preservation metadata thus the implementation of preservation metadata is important for preservation of electronic records maintaining the record-ness. Preservation metadata is the information that supports the process of digital preservation and functions th maintain long-term viability, renderability, understandability, authenticity and identity of digital resources. Preservation metadata should be developed applying the international standard Reference Model for an Open Archival Information System(OAIS) to have international interoperability for exchange and reuse. Initial international preservation metadata schemas were developed standardizing the OAIS Reference Model. But the preservation metadata schema of Victorian Electronic Records Strategy(VERS) and recently published Data Dictionary of PREMIS Working Group were developed in advanced types that are different from the existing framework. Those were advanced th practical ones from conceptual one. Comparing these two cases, proposed the elements of integral preservation metadata for long-term preservation of electronic records. This thesis has the significance that it has suggested the direction for future development of the elements of preservation metadata by setting the past discussions related to preservation metadata in order and proposing integral preservation metadata elements for long-term preservation of electronic records.

The Significance and Utilization of the Jungwon Historical and Cultural Area (중원역사문화권 설정의 의미와 활용 방안)

  • This paper proposed the validity and necessity of establishing the Jungwon Historical and Cultural Area by reviewing the historical characteristics of the name Jungwon and its temporal and spatial range. We also explored ways to utilize the Jungwon historical and cultural Area under the Special Act on the Maintenance of Historical and Cultural Areas. Jungwon, which means the center of the country, has strategic value as a key area connecting the Korean Peninsula to the north and south through the Geripryeong and Jukryeong. It also includes Chungju, which connects the Namhan and Bukhan Rivers . From the Mahan period, the areas of Cheongju and Jincheon, the Miho Stream basin to the west, and Chungju to the east were closely connected to each other. Afterwards, Baekje, Koguryo, and Silla engaged in a fierce battle to occupy the Jungwon area. Jungwon culture was born through the negotiation and fusion of the cultures of the three kingdoms. In particular, Silla continued to value the Jungwon area, demonstrated by the installation of Seowongyeong in Cheongju and Bukwongyeong in Wonju, centering on the Jungwongyeong. Since we have a historical view with a focus on ancient kingdoms, we have overlooked the full value of the history and culture of Jungwon. We need to recognize the importance of Jungwon area and think about how to utilize it. Therefore, we suggested in this paper that there be more public information services on the cultural heritage of Jungwon, the historical heritage experience, and the education programs for local residents. The development and operation of Jungwon's history, culture, and tourism contents, as well as the various academic research papers should be used to reveal the identity of the Jungwon historical and cultural area.

A Study on the Defined and Realized Attributes of SMART Education (스마트교육의 속성과 구현 실태에 관한 연구)

  • Since the development of Smart technology and the advent of various Smart media, a learning environment for individual learners and the school has been changing. In the stream of changing learning environments, in 2011, the government announced SMART education strategies, introducing the term officially, "SMART education." With the governments' efforts to develop and implement SMART education in school, many policies has been enacted and many research has been conducted and increased gradually. However, as policies of SMART education have initiated in situation where there is no clear understanding in regard of SMART education, many researchers and teachers confused of SMART education and its identity and attributes, even though it has been 6 years since the concept was introduced. Unfortunately, SMART education has been implemented as one type of instructional methodology as utilizing Smart technology. Thus, in this research, we tried to build theoretical foundation of SMART education through analyzing former research on SMART education to define the attributes of SMART education. To examine how SMART education has been implemented in terms of its attributes, also, we analyzed research that conducted instructional design and implementation on SMART education in actual learning environments. As the results of former research analysis, the attributes of SMART education include Information and Communication Technology, open learning environment, self-directed learning, customized learning, and social learning. In majority of research, SMART education focused on utilizing Smart technology and media in teaching and learning environments but self-directed, and customized learning were less adapted in SMART learning environments. In the following research, how to improve educational benefits of SMART education through adapting original attributes of SMART education need to be examined.

Hanju Yi Jinsang(寒洲 李震相)'s concept of Li(理) through his viewpoint on the Ido-seol(理到說) (이도설(理到說)에 대한 견해를 통해 본 한주 이진상(寒洲 李震相)의 '리(理)' 개념)

  • The purpose of this study is to catch the characteristics of the Hanju Yi Jinsang (寒洲 李震相, 1818~1886)'s thought of the 'Li(理)' through Hanju's view on the Ido-seol(理到說), the Toegye Yi Hwang(退溪 李滉, 1501~1570)'s latter Mulgyuk(物格) theory, and to establish the foundation for identifying the aspects of development about Toegye School's concept of Li from Toegye's Ido-seol. The Ido-seol was criticized for regarding Li - the immovable principle - as 'living thing'. Toegye School's scholars tried to solve this problem by translating the 'word' correctly. Hanju also translated the word 'Do(到)', the verb of 'Ido', as meaning of 'perfectly understood' based on his translation of the word 'Gyuk(格)' as 'Ku(究)'. On the other hand, he also regarded the principle-application structure of Li and the its characteristic the 'Li as Hwalmul(活物)' as the main point of Toegye's Neo-confucianism thought his methodology 'Three viewpoints[三看法]'. Before Hanju, scholars dose not have more opinion from the translation of the word, and it is too difficult to identifying their scholarly identity through their viewpoints on Ido-seol. On the other hand, Hanju thought that the lack of the idea for comprehensive approach between Xin(心) and Li(理) will cause the misunderstanding the relationship between Xin and Li. In this reason, he evaluated Toegye's Ido-seol based on the concept of 'One principle and its manifoldness[理一分殊]'. Consequently, he concatenated the characteristic of Xin which includes all things with concept of Mulgyuk, and emphasized that Xin which penetrates the principle of all things has the characteristic of 'One principle(理一)'.

  • The moral corruption or the reality of absence of humanity derived from the development of science and society is very serious. Especially the moral education which should provide new breakthroughs facing such issue will be the initial concern in the educational world and the key point that judges our future. This study, as a part of efforts made for such demands of the times, is an attempt to approach the field of the present elementary education specifically by deducing the abundant meaning that the Confucianism's Chungseojidoh(忠恕之道: the principle of "Faithfulness" and "Benevolence") stands for. To build an ethical social community also means to draw voluntary moral practices into this society and this is possible with our (the moral subject) struggling the problems within but not remaining in the limitations of physical norms. Chungseojidoh as universal ethics contains a virtue ethical meaning as Jenlogy, a meaning of identity recognition and self-esteem inspiration, a meaning of social community ethics as ethics of good offices, etc. Such meanings, in particular, can be discussed more profoundly in terms of educational prevention from violence or cliquish issues in school that are largely related to education of humanity if 'applying schemes for elementary education' is seen as the center of the issue. And furthermore, they will be able to open a discussion over problems of the situation which the Korean society is in - especially the insistence, egoism or conflicts between social communities - can be answered in actuality.

Songgye Na-sik's Literary World and it's Local Base (송계나식(松桂懶湜)의 문학 세계와 지역적 기반)

  • This study examined Songgye Na-sik's(松桂懶湜, 1684~1765) literary world based on Priest Songgye's Anthology(松桂大禪師文集). In consideration of the insufficiencies of the only previous study on Songgye's literature, this study was focused on his ideological character and its historicity, the trend of literary exchange in the Buddhist circle, and the literary geographical aspect of his literature. Priest Songgye was the head of the Bonghwa-sa Temple in Andong during the years under the rule of Kings Sukjong and Yeongjo, and learned from Hwanseong Ji-ahn(喚醒志安, 1664~1729) and Nakam Eui-nul(落巖義訥, 1666~1737). The priest did not have many students under him nor leave numerous writings. In the process of the development of the Buddhist doctrines in the late Joseon Dynasty, however, he completed the scripture learning courses faithfully and laid the ground of his philosophy. In addition, the afterword of Hwaeomgyeongchilcheogupumhoipummok (華嚴經七處九會品目跋) shows that he compiled the book under his teacher's instruction. What is more, he is known to have devoted himself to belief in the Pure Land in his late years. Given these backgrounds, the priest's life, writings, and ideological tendencies pursued all of Zen, Hwaeom, and the Pure Land together, and at the same time, reflected the characteristics of Korean Buddhism in the 18th century. The priest steadily cultivated himself in poetry and established his own literary world, and all the outcomes were fully reflected in his anthology. Priest Songgye walked the road of a learner throughout his lifetime but, on the other hand, he established his identity as a literary man in the specific time and space of Andong, Yeongnam in the late Joseon Dynasty.

Toegye and Yulgok's Theory of Human Mind·Moral Mind - The Korean Development of Chutzu's Theory of Mind (퇴계와 율곡의 인심도심설 - 주자 심론의 한국적 전개 -)

  • Toegye and Yulgok both tried to obtain the extent of goodness from the emotion they feel in reality. Toegye thought the extent of goodness is being obtained by Li[理], Yulgok thought it by Chi[氣]. But Four Bases[四端] as goodness from Li[理] would possibly threat the human identity, and the emotion of appropriateness as goodness from Chi[氣] doesn't even prove itself that it is appropriate. They explain the problems and answers through Theory of Human Mind?Moral Mind. Toegye explains that Moral Mind is meaningful as it make people identify themselves as moral existence, Yulgok explains Moral Mind is meaningful that it satisfies standard of appropriateness. While Toegye and Yulgok define Moral Mind and Human Mind as emotion of Yi-fa[已發], Chutzu defines Moral Mind and Human Mind as consciousness. and he defines consciousness as 'preparing Li(理) and practicing the emotion'. So according to Chutzu, Moral Mind and Human Mind derives the reaction from the Li(理) in order to respond to the external stimulation. Supervision of mind is completed by consciousness of Moral Mind. It means that mind not limited to Yi-fa[已發]. Then we should think that Toegye and Yulgok's Theory of Human Mind?Moral Mind is something newly resulted from their own philosophic problem. Toegye and Yulgok's Theory of Human Mind?Moral Mind is commonly explaining human mind in experiential aspect, and it will be esteemed as definite and realistic theory of Mind because it emphasizes willingness which motivates an essential activity.

A Reconsideration of Christian Democratic Civility in the New Normal Era (뉴노멀 시대의 기독교 민주적 시민성 재고)

  • While Coronavirus (COVID-19) is popular all over the world, democratic citizenship is strongly highlighted as a factor that has enabled the Republic of Korea to successfully prevent it. Democratic citizenship can also be understood as a civility, which means respecting the individual's individuality, value and freedom, but at the same time pursuing common good based on healthy relationships with others in the community. It is true that despite the need for modern Christianity to practice this civility more gracefully and politely in the public sphere, some churches and Christians have failed to show it during the Corona crisis. Under these circumstances, this study made the following suggestions for the realization of communality through the practice of democratic citizenship beyond the privatization of modern Christianity. First, Christianity needs recognition as a public church and theological establishment of it. Second, modern Christianity needs to recognize the importance of a network society and practice public good more than ever. Third, modern Christianity should be able to provide a new lifestyle for the development of public character in the community. So the New Normal-era church should be able to restore its original churchlikeness by having a Christian identity and communicating gentlemanly in the public domain.

A Study on the Sports Ideas of Mao Ze Dong, a young man in the "Ti-Yu zhi Yan-Jiu" (「체육지연구(體育之硏究)」속 청년 모택동(毛泽东) 체육사상에 관하여)

  • In this study, some of the contents of the sentence " Ti-Yu zhi Yan-Jiu " written by young man Mao Ze Dong were directly interpreted and examined, and it was intended to summarize what the reasons for this sport, which influenced the formation of his sports thoughts in the future, had on sports development in modern China. As a research method, the original text "Ti-Yu zhi Yan-Jiu" contains young man Mao Ze Dong's unique thoughts on physical education some of the introductions and Articles 2 and 6 of the main text are mainly cited and excerpted. In conclusion, in this sentence, Mao Ze dong summarized that physical education is the way to overcome virtue and knowledge, and active physical education activities accelerate individual self-realization. First, he is a physical education in Salvation is the purpose of the evils of physical education at the time and that actual physical education must be a story, and make some comments. Second, identity theory, he suggested Mental and physical unity. Third, in accordance with the practice was unusually simple and practical, representatively, the six physical fitness practices suggested in "Ti-Yu zhi Yan-Jiu" are important examples.
