가정용 빌트인 제빙기의 분무 노즐, R-404A 충전량 최적화 및 제빙 가시화 (Optimization of Spray Nozzle, R-404A Charge Amount and Visualization of Ice Formation in a Residential Built-in Ice Maker)

  • Because of improvement of living standards and increased use of ice at home, built-in ice makers are of interest. In this study, refrigeration cycle of a unitary ice maker for residential usage was optimized using R-404A. Optimization was achieved through a search for proper refrigerant charge amount. For the present ice maker producing ice for 24 cups, the optimum charge amount was 200 g. In this configuration, the ice making cycle time was 17 minutes 53 seconds, ice production was 1.27 kg/h and COP was 0.310. After initial start-up, condensation and evaporation temperatures gradually decreased with time. As ice builds in the cup, heat transfer performance of the evaporator decreases, that results in decrease of evaporation and condensation temperatures. Replacement of existing slit nozzles with individual circular hole nozzles improved ice production capacity by 10 percent. Through visualization of ice formation in the ice cup, growth rate of the ice in the cup was relatively uniform.

가정에서의 냉장고를 이용한 제빙 실태와 제빙 설비 개선에 대한 요구도 조사 (Preparation of Ice at Home and Consumer's Demand for Auto Icemaker in Refrigerator)

  • This study was investigated about preparation of ice at home and developing points which met consumer's demand that was focused on auto icemaker. According to purposive quota sampling method, residences in Seoul and Kyunggi-do area were selected and interviewed by trained interviewer at August 1995. The results were as follows: 66.3% of respondent usually prepared ice in ice-making container of refrigerator and used when they needed. 85% of them used ice in summer and seldomly used in other seasons. Boiling water with barley was major drinking water(45.6%), and broiled or purified tap water was used to make ice(38.6%) commonly. Numbers of ice-making container were two(66.0%). Above 50% of respondents replied that they felt off-flavor in ice usually. After felt off-flavor, 54.7% of respondent threw away the ice, some of them used off-flavored ice after treatment to washing with water. 64.9% of respondents thought that the origins of off-flavor was the flavor of refrigerator itself. The consumer's expectation of developing points were as follows. The most priority of developing points was to make ice quickly, the next was to develop auto ice maker and ice storage container, to make different size of ice. Less expected points were to make more clear ice and large volume of ice in one time. The recognition about auto ice maker was slightly low(35% of respondents), but 67% of them wanted to develop auto ice maker.

지역냉방을 위한 아이스슬러리의 연속제조 및 배관내 빙충전율 조절 (Continuous Ice Slurry Production and Control of Ice Packing Factor in a Pipe for the District Cooling)

  • The ice slurry maker which can produce the ice slurry well for the ice particle in-flowing condition was revised. We removed the stagnant region at the top of the ice slurry maker, and IPF 40% could be realized. The IPF controller with 6 mm diameter holes at the bottom was designed. But the IPF controller with only 6 mm diameter holes could not control IPF in a pipe. This is because the ice particles at ice slurry flow exist homogeneously not only at the upper part but also at the bottom part. We changed the hole size of IPF controller surface using fine meshes and then, IPF in a pipe was increased by 70% when the hole size was $80{\mu}m$ and less.

정적제빙형인 관외 제빙에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ice-on-coil as a Static Ice Making Type)

  • This study was experimentally investigated to understand the ice making characteristics of ice on a coil type ice maker. The experiment was carried out under the following conditions which are the brine temperatures of $-10[^{\circ}C],\;-8[^{\circ}C],\;-6[^{\circ}C]$, brine flow velocities of 1.0[m/s], 1.4[m/s], 1.8[m/s] and initial water temperatures of $6[^{\circ}C],\;9[^{\circ}C],\;12[^{\circ}C]$, ect. The acquired conclusions shows: 1) Ice making amount is increased with decreasing in the temperature of brine. 2) Total ice making amount shows higher value in larger size coil. However, the ice making amount per heat transfer area is increased in smaller one. 3) The ice making amount is increased with decreasing in the initial water temperature. 4) It is cleared that the overturn of natural convection existed in this experimental result.

  • The study experimented to understand the ice making characteristics on to kinds of round tube type and oval tube type using ice maker. The experiment were carried out under various conditions, that used brine temperature $-10{\sim}-6^{\circ}C$, brine flow rate $1.0{\sim}1.8\;m/s$ and inlet water temperature $6{\sim}-12^{\circ}C$ etc. Mass of ice per making area increased according to the decrease of the brine temperature and inlet water temperature, but that was increased according to the increase of the brine flow rate.

두개의 증발기가 장착된 소프트 아이스크림 제조기의 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of the Soft Ice-cream Maker Having Two Evaporators Operating at Different Temperatures)

  • 아이스크림제조기는 원액통과 냉각통의 증발온도가 $4^{\circ}C$$-8^{\circ}C$로 각각 다르므로 다수의 모세관을 이용하는데 이 경우 서로 냉매 유량에 영향을 주므로 냉동사이클 설계가 복잡하다. 본 연구에서는 증발온도가 서로 다른 두개의 증발기(냉장 및 냉동)가 장착된 소프트 아이스크림 제조기의 성능을 해석하였다. 압축기 해석에는 효율모델을 적용하였고, 모세관은 1차원 유동으로 간주하여 해석하였으며, 응축기와 증발기는 UA-LMTD법을 적용하여 해석하였다. 요소부품에서의 엔탈피, 압력 및 질량의 평형을 적용하여 냉동사이클 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발하였고 R404A를 사용하는 아이스크림 제조기에 적용한 결과, 냉장과 냉동 증발기의 온도를 $3^{\circ}C$ 이내로 예측하여 측정치와 대체로 일치하였다.

  • Drop-in tests were conducted using R290/R32 (31:69) or R290/DME (65:35) mixture in a ice-cream maker for possible replacement of R-502 and R-404A. At the standard room temperature ($20^{\circ}C$), the time required for initial ice-cream making was 4'7' for R290/32, 4'39' for R404A and 4'59' for R290/DME. The electric energy consumed was 436 kJ for R290/32, 425 kJ for R404A and 439 kJ for R290/DME. The mass flow rate as well as the temperature and pressure data are also provided.

  • This paper describes an optimal scheduling for ice slurry systems for energy cost saving. The optimization technique applied in the study is the dynamic programming method, for which the state variable is the storage in the ice storage tank and the control variable is the state of chiller's on-off switching. Though the costs during charge period is included in optimization by taking the average cost of ice per hour for slurry making, the time horizon for the simulation is limited building cooling period because accurate charge rate from the ice maker into the ice storage tank cannot be estimated during the charge period. In the operating simulation after optimizing procedure, energy consumption and operating cost for the optimal control are calculated and compared with them for a conventional control with one case of cooling load profile.

관외착빙형 제빙관의 형태 및 관경 변화에 따른 제빙 특성 (Ice Making Characteristics according to Shape and Diameter on Ice-on-Coil Tube)

  • The study experimented to understand ice-on-coil type ice making characteristics on to 3 kinds of circular tube, oval tube and small diameter tube using ice maker. The experiment were carried out under various conditions, that used brine temperature($-10^{\circ}C$, $-6^{\circ}C$), brine flow rate(1.0m/s, 1.8m/s) and inlet water temperature ($6^{\circ}C$, $12^{\circ}C$) etc. Mass of ice per ice making area increased according to the decrease of the brine temperature and inlet water temperature, but that was increased according to the increase of the brine flow rate. Oval ice making tube produced ice 1.11 to 2.46 times that of 9mm circular ice making tube, and 3mm small diameter ice making tube produced ice 1.06 to 1.51 times that of 9mm circular ice making tube.
