Cheonmabanhwa-tang(CBT) has been used in the Oriental Medicine for many centuries as a therapeutic agent for dizziness due to Poong-Dam. This study was designed to investigate whether CBT has a cytotoxicity in vitro, and affects the cerebral hemodynamics [regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF), pial arterial diameter(PAD), and mean arterial blood pressure(MABP)) in normal and cerebral ischemic rats. The changes of rCBF were determinated by laser-doppler f1owmeter(LDF), and the change of PAD was determinated by video-microscopy. The results in normal rats were as follows: CBT had no cytotoxicity in neuronal cells. CBT significantly increased rCBF. MABP and PAD in a dose-dependent manner, respectively. Both rCBF and PAD were significantly and stably increased by CBT(10 mg/kg, i.p.) during the period of cerebral reperfusion. which contrasted with the findings of rapid and marked increase in control group. In conclusion, it is suggested that CBT causes a diverse effect on cerebral hemodynamics thereby has an anti-ischemic action.

This Study was designed to investigate the effects of Nelumbinis Rhizomatis Nodus (NRN) on the change of cerebral hemodynamics [regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF), pial arterial diameter (PAD) and mean arterial blood pressure (MABP)] in normal and cerebral ischemic rats. And, this study was designed to investigate the inhibition of lactate dehydrogenase activity in neuronal cells The results were as follows NRN significantly increased rCBF and PAD in a dose-dependent manner, and NRN increased MABP in a dose-dependent manner. This results suggested that NRN significantly increased rCBF by dilating PAD. Both rCBF and PAD were significantly and stably increased by NRN (10 mg/kg, i.p.) during the period of cerebral reperfusion, which contrasted with the findings of rapid and marked increase in control group. NRN significantly inhibited lactate dehydrogenase activity in neuronal cells. This results suggested that NRN prevented the neuronal death. It is suggested that NRN had an anti-ischemic effect through the improvement of cerebral hemodynamics and inhibitive effect on the brain damage.

In today's modern society, along with the 4th industrial revolution, digitalization is rapidly progressing from everyday life to the entire industry. In the field of education, support is being provided at the government level, such as the dissemination of digital devices to create a digital educational environment, and the use of digital devices is remarkably increasing at the level of individual students as well. In the fashion design education field of universities, the number of students using tablet PCs and applications such as iPads is increasing and the scope of its application is expanding, from design concept setting and idea generation to design sketches in the early fashion design process, as well as diagramming and portfolio work. For fashion design sketching, it was found that students mainly use Procreate or Clip Studio applications with iPad. Therefore, by identifying the differentiated functions and characteristics of Procreate and Clip Studio, and examining design sketch examples using them, the possibility of effective use of iPad applications was presented and problems were also examined. Through this study, it is intended to provide basic data for fashion design education that can increase students' interest and achievement by using the iPad application.
An integrated material removal model considering thermal, chemical and contact mechanical effects in CMP process is proposed. These effects are highly coupled together in the current modeling effort. The contact mechanics is employed in the model incorporated with the heat transfer and chemical reaction mechanisms. The mechanical abrasion actions happening due to the mechanical contacts between the wafer and abrasive particles in the slurry and between the wafer and pad asperities cause friction and consequently generate heats, which mainly acts as the heat source accelerating chemical reaction(s) between the wafer and slurry chemical(s). The proposed model may be a help in understanding multi-physical interactions in CMP process occurring among the wafer, pad and various consumables such as slurry.
Part I of this study analyzed the effects of tilting pad bearing designs to reduce the stiffness of the bearings used in a process high-speed lightweight centrifugal compressor intended for a domestic refinery use. This was done in an attempt to enhance the robustness of its rotordynamic stability against possible aerodynamic cross-coupled stiffness. The bearing design variables reviewed were the clearances, LBPs, LOPs, and preloads. The results showed that there was practically no difference between the LBP and LOP designs in terms of the bearing stiffness, because the compressor rotor was lightweight and the bearings had relatively high preloads. Increasing both the machined and assembled clearances in bearing designs has resulted in the bearing stiffness being greatly reduced. In addition, it has been confirmed that an additional reduction in the bearing stiffness can be obtained for given fixed machined clearances by decreasing the preloads, i.e., by increasing the assembled clearances.
This Study was designed to investigate the effect of Sunkihwalhyul -Tang extract(SHT) on the change of cerebral hemodynamics [regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF), pial arterial diameter(PAD) and mean arterial blood pressure(MABP)] in normal and cerebral ischemic rats, and further to determine the mechanisms of action of SHT on hemodynamics. In addition, this study was designed to investigate whether SHT inhibits lactate dehydrog enase(LDH) activity in neuronal cells and cytokines production in serum of cerebral ischemic rats. The results were as follows 1. SHT significantly increased rCBF and PAD in a dose-dependent manner, but MABP was not changed by injecting SHT. These results suggest that SHT significantly increases rCBF by dilating PAD. 2. The SHT-induced increase in rCBF was significantly inhibited by pretreatment with indomethacin(IDN, 1 mg/kg, i.p.), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase and methylene blue(MTB, $10{\mu}g/kg$, i.p.), an inhibitor of guanylate cyclase. 3. The SHT-induced dilation in PAD was significantly inhibited by pretreatment with IDN and MTB. 4. The SHT-induced some increase in MABP was significantly increased by pretreatment with IDN. These results suggest that the mechanism of action of SBT is mediated by guanylate cyclase. 5. Both rCBF and PAD were significantly and stably increased by SHT(10 mg/kg, i.p.) during the period of cerebral reperfusion, which contrasted with the findings of rapid and marked increase in control group. 6. SBH significantly inhibited LDH activity in neuronal cells. These results suggest that SHT prevents the neuronal death. 7. In cytokine production in the senlm drawn from femoral artery 1 hr after middlecerebral arterial occlusion, sample group showed significantly decreased production of IL-1$\beta$ production, decreased production TNF-$\alpha$ and increased Production of IL-10 compared with control group. 8. In cytokine production in the serum drawn femoral artery 1 hr after reperfusion, sample group showed significantly decreased production of IL-1$\beta$ and TNF-$\alpha$ as wellas significantly increased production of IL10 compared with control group. These results suggest that SHT mediated by guanylate cyclase has inhibitive effect on the brain damage by inhibiting LDH activity, IL-1$\beta$ and TNF-$\alpha$ production, and by accelerating IL-10 production. The present author thinks that SHT has an anti-ischemic effects through the improvement of cerebral hemodynamics and inhibitive enects on the brain damage.

Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the effects of Jayun-tang extract (JYT) on the change of cerebral hemodynamics [regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF), pial arterial diameter (PAD) and mean arterial blood pressure (MABP)] in normal and cerebral ischemic rats, na to determine the mechanisms of action of JYT. Methods : We investigated whether JYT inhibits lactate dehydrogenase activity in neuronal cells and cytokines production in serum of cerebral ischemic rats. Results : 1. JYT significantly increased rCBF and PAD in a dose-dependent manner, but MABP was not changed by injecting JYT. These results suggested JYT significantly increased rCBF by dilating PAD. 2. The JYT-induced increase in rCBF was significantly inhibited from pretreatment with indomethacin (1mg/kg, i.p.), an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase and methylene blue $(10{\mu}g/kg, i.p.)$, an inhibitor of guanylate cyclase. 3. The JYT-induced dilation in PAD was significantly inhibited from pretreatment with indomethacin, but was increased by pretreatment with methylene blue. 4 The JYT-induced increase in MABP was reduced by pretreatment with indomethacin and methylene blue. 5. JYT significantly inhibited lactate dehydrogenase activity in neuronal cells. These results suggest that JYT prevented the neuronal death. 6. Both rCBF and PAD were significantly and stably increased by JYT $(10{\mu}g/kg,\;i.p.)$ during the Period or cerebral reperfusion, which contrasted with the findings of rapid and marked increase in the control group. 7. In cytokine production in the serum drawn from femoral artery 1hr after middle cerebral artery occlusion, the sample group showed significantly decreased production of $IL-1\beta$ and $TNF-\alpha$ as well as increased production of IL-10 and $TGF-\beta$ compared with rho control group. 8. In cytokine production in the serum drawn from femoral artery 1hr after reperfusion, the sample group showed significantly decreased production of $IL-1\beta$ and $TNF-\alpha$ as well as significantly increased production of IL-10 and $TGF-\beta$ compared with the control group. Conclusions : JYT mediated by cyclooxygenase had an inhibitive effect on brain damage by inhibiting lactate dehydrogenase activity, $IL-1\beta$ and $TNF-\alpha$ production, and by accelerating IL-10 and $TGF-\beta$ production. The author feels that JYT had anti-ischemic effects through the improvement of cerebral hemodynamics and inhibitive effects on brain damage.
Objectives : The purposes of this preliminary study was to examine the feasibility of recruiting women into a clinical trial designed to examine the effects of acupuncture in treating urinary incontinence (UI) in premenopausal women with delivery history and the feasibility of performing the study procedures. We also tried to determine if there was preliminary evidence to suggest that acupuncture may be effective in reducing UI and improving disease-specific quality of life. Methods : This study was a pragmatic randomized clinical trial. Subjects between the ages of 20 and 49 years were randomly assigned to a treatment(n=11) or control group(n=11) and analyzed. Both groups were supposed to do Kegel exercise at home during 4 weeks and acupuncture was applied to the treatment group twice a week(8 sessions) additionally. Subjects performed 1 hour pad test and completed a 3-day urination diary, international consultation on incontinence modular questionnaire(ICIQ), and incontinence - quality of life(I-QOL) at base line and 5 weeks. Results : Both group showed improvement in 1 hour pad test and the reducing amount of UI was significantly larger in treatment group(p=0.0182). The significant improvements in ICIQ and I-QOL were also observed in treatment group and sustained until the follow-up measurement at 16 weeks. Any adverse reaction related to acupuncture did not happen. Conclusions : It was feasible to recruit subjects and perform the study procedures. The positive results of this study support the requirement for additional research investigating the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of UI in women.

The PATROL instructional model only uses digital textbooks. PATROL is an acronym for Planning, Action, Tracking, Recommending, Ordering, and Leading. Teachers have a difficult time using current digital textbooks to determine how much time students spend using course materials. This is because current digital textbooks can only show the content of paper textbooks and display additional multimedia materials. In this study, digital textbook functions were designed based on the PATROL model in order to analyze students' learning situations, diagnose problems, and offer solutions. Digital textbook are based on learning analytics named SEE-PAD. SEE-PAD is composed of the following: Social network analysis; Evaluation and assEssment analysis; Predictive analysis; Adaptive learning analysis; and the analysis Dashboard. I drew and showed the use case and sequence diagrams of SEE-PAD to help design digital textbook functions.
Objectives: To comparatively evaluate the efficacy of photo-activated disinfection (PAD), calcium hydroxide (CH) and their combination on the treatment outcome of indirect pulp treatment (IPT). Materials and Methods: Institutional ethical clearance and informed consent of the patients were taken. The study was also registered with clinical registry of India. Sixty permanent molars exhibiting deep occlusal carious lesion in patients with the age range of 18 - 22 yr were included. Clinical and radiographic evaluation and set inclusion and exclusion criteria's were followed. Gross caries excavation was accomplished. In group I (n = 20) PAD was applied for sixty seconds. In group II (n = 20), CH was applied to the remaining carious dentin, while in group III (n = 20), PAD application was followed by CH placement. The teeth were permanently restored. They were clinically and radiographically followed-up at 45 day, 6 mon and 12 mon. Relative density of the remaining affected dentin was measured by 'Radiovisiography (RVG) densitometric' analysis. Results: Successful outcome with an increase in radiographic grey values were observed in all three groups. However, on inter-group comparison, this change was not significant (p > 0.05). Conclusions: PAD and CH both have equal disinfection efficacy in the treatment of deep carious dentin. PAD alone is as effective for treatment of deep carious lesion as calcium hydroxide and hence can be used as an alternative to CH. They can be used independently in IPT, since combining both does not offer any additional therapeutic benefits.
