  • Some companies of domestic construction indicate recently that modern life for the aged prefer an advanced technical alliance between O.D.L and I.D.L systems. It means the quality of housing life of the aged has been raised and changed quickly as well as the O.D.L and I.D.L systems since the last year. These preliminary studies suggest that the aged people in the country suffer from insufficient O.D.L and I.D.L systems caused by nation-wide economic poverty compared with the aged people in Seoul. The information from the country has been restricted for several decades therefore some details of the results of the studies are at times difficult to believe and differ depending on the research methods. The purpose of this study is to clarify the quality housing life of the aged, based on the comparative analysis between the O.D.L and I.D.L systems. The quality of housing life of the aged in countryside has been revealed by the clarification of the conditions housing supply, facilities, and therefore housing the cost amount. The conclusions are as follows ; The quickly changing architectural O.D.L elements are presented below in 17 items, while the I.D.L elements are presented in 18 items.

  • Purpose: Difference of refraction result from the method of autorefraction and iTrace were investigaged for the children of elementary school in Asan City. In iTrace method. exclusion of accommodation without cycloplegia was used. Methods: Manifest refractive stale of 42 eyes of 12~13 years old were measured using autorefractor and iTrace. Refractions of far (more than 5 m) and ncar (30 cm) vision were measured using iTrace. All data showed that the spherical equivalent were classified as being in the group 1 (-0.50D < ~ < +1.00D) and 2 (below -0.50D) according 10 refractive errors. Results: Mean spherical equivalent using autorefractor and iTrace (far and near vision) were -1.08D, -0.29D and -2.34D, respectively (p<0.01). Compared with the far vision using iTrace, autorefraction was measured the myopia with -0.50D ~ -1.00D in 52.4% of total eyes. Autorefraction also statistical significant were measured a more myopia than the far vision using iTrace in group I and 2. Conclusions: The difference of refractive errors between autorefraction and iTrace, objective refraction were measured with far vision of more than 5 m were -0.79D. Autoreftaction showed statistically decreased refraction errors than iTrace with far vision.

  • A simple and rapid homogeneous enzyme-linked binding assay for mistletoe lectin I(ML I) was developed using a coupled enzyme system of malate dehydrogenase (MDH) and D-galactose. A highly substituted MDH-galactose conjugate was prepared by employing an isothiocyanate method for formation of thiourea bond. In the presence of ML I, ML I inhibits the activity of the conjugate based on the ML I/D-galactose specific interaction. Thus, the concentration of ML I can be related to the homogeneous inhibition of the MDH-galactose conjugate. Using this method. ML I can be measured at the level of microgram per milliliter within 10 minutes.

  • A study was made to investigate the effects of concerning factors with IGF-I recovery on the final IGF-I concentration in the effluent and to establish recovery conditions of IGF-I using liquid emulsion membranes(LEM). D2EHPA was best carrier among Amberlite LA2, Aliquit 336 and D2EHPA for recovery rate of IGF-I. Recovery rate of IGF-I by D2EHPA volume in the oil phase was increased as increasing D2EHPA volume, and optimal volume of D2EHPA was 5% in this experiment. The recovery rate of IGF-I by D2EHPA was increased by the decreasing from pH 7 to pH 4 of external phase. Therefore, optimal pH value was 4.0. Optimal concentrations of sulfuric acid in internal phase, paraffin oil in oil phase and Span 80 for recovery rate of IGF-I were 0.1M, 2.0% and 5%, respectively, and optimal W/O rate was 2. These results suggested that optimal conditions for recovery of IGF-I were D2EHPA(5%) as carrier, pH 4.0, 0.1M sulfuric acid, 2% paraffin oil, 2.0 W/O rate and 5.0% Span 80.

  • Let D be an integral domain, P be a nonzero prime ideal of D, $\{P_{\alpha}{\mid}{\alpha}{\in}{\mathcal{A}}\}$ be a nonempty set of prime ideals of D, and $\{I_{\beta}{\mid}{\beta}{\in}{\mathcal{B}}\}$ be a nonempty family of ideals of D with ${\cap}_{{\beta}{\in}{\mathcal{B}}}I_{\beta}{\neq}(0)$. Consider the following conditions: (i) If $P{\subseteq}{\cup}_{{\alpha}{\in}{\mathcal{A}}}P_{\alpha}$, then $P=P_{\alpha}$ for some ${\alpha}{\in}{\mathcal{A}}$; (ii) If ${\cap}_{{\beta}{\in}{\mathcal{B}}}I_{\beta}{\subseteq}P$, then $I_{\beta}{\subseteq}P$ for some ${\beta}{\in}{\mathcal{B}}$. In this paper, we prove that D satisfies $(i){\Leftrightarrow}D$ is a generalized weakly factorial domain of ${\dim}(D)=1{\Rightarrow}D$ satisfies $(ii){\Leftrightarrow}D$ is a weakly Krull domain of dim(D) = 1. We also study the t-operation analogs of (i) and (ii).

  • Olfactory receptors (OR) are primarily responsible for the detection of odorant molecules. We previously demonstrated that OR7D4, an OR for androstenone, is expressed in the vomeronasal organ and olfactory epithelium tissue of stallions. Recently, the expression of OR1I1 in the human testes was reported and the possible roles of OR1I1 in the testicular cells were suggested. The objectives of this study were 1) to explore the expression of OR7D4 and OR1I1 in stallion testes, and 2) to define the specific localization of OR7D4 and OR1I1 in the testicular tissues. Stallion testicular tissue samples were used for this study. Western blot was performed to confirm the cross-reactivity of OR7D4 and OR1I1 antibody with stallion testicular tissue samples. OR7D4 and OR1I1 gene expressions were investigated using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in stallion testes. Immunofluorescence was performed to investigate the expression of OR7D4 and OR1I1 in stallion testicular tissues. The protein bands for OR7D4 and OR1I1 from the testes were observed at approximately 38 kDa and 43 kDa, respectively. The mRNA of OR7D4 and OR1I1 were detected in stallion testes. Immunolabeling of OR7D4 and OR1I1 in the cytoplasm of both spermatogonia and Leydig cells was observed. In conclusion, androstenone and another odorant chemical, which is recognized by OR1I1, may play an important role in stallion testes.

  • Let $R = k[y_1,\cdots,y_n] \otimes E[x_1, \cdots, x_n]$ with characteristic $k = p > 2$ (odd prime), where $$\mid$y_i$\mid$ = 2, $\mid$x_i$\mid$ = 1$ and $y_i = \betax_i, \beta$ is the Bockstein homomorphism. Topologically, $R = H^*(B(Z/p)^n,k)$. For a symmetric group $\sum_n, R^{\sum_n} = k[\sigma_1,\cdots,\sigma_n] \otimes E[d\sigma_1, \cdots, d\sigma_n]$ where d is the derivation satisfying $d(y_i) = x_i$ and $d(x_iy_i) = x_iy_i + x_jy_i, 1 \leq i, j \leq n$. We give a direct proof of this theorem by using induction.

  • Let I be an ideal in a Gorenstein local ring A with the maximal ideal m and d = dim A. Then we say that I is a good ideal in A, if I contains a reduction $Q=(a_1,a_2,...,a_d)$ generated by d elements in A and $G(I)=\bigoplus_{n\geq0}I^n/I^{n+1}$ of I is a Gorenstein ring with a(G(I)) = 1-d, where a(G(I)) denotes the a-invariant of G(I). Let S = A[Q/a$_1$] and P = mS. In this paper, we show that the following conditions are equivalent. (1) $I^2$ = QI and I = Q:I. (2) $I^2S$ = $a_1$IS and IS = $a_1$S:sIS. (3) $I^2$Sp = $a_1$ISp and ISp = $a_1$Sp :sp ISp. We denote by $X_A(Q)$ the set of good ideals I in $X_A(Q)$ such that I contains Q as a reduction. As a Corollary of this result, we show that $I\inX_A(Q)\Leftrightarrow\IS_P\inX_{SP}(Qp)$.
