Theory and Practice of Automatic Indexing (자동색인의 이론과 실제)

  • This paper deals with the methods as well as the problems associated with automatic extraction indexing and assignment indexing, expert systems for indexing, and major approaches currently used to index the Internet resources. It also briefly reviews basic methods for establishing hypertext/hypermedia links automatically. The methods used in much of text processing today are not particularly new. Most of the them were used, perhaps in a more rudimentary form, 30 or more years ago by Luhn and many other investigators. Better results can be achieved today because much greater bodies of electronic text are now avaliable and the power of present-day computers allows the processing of such text with reasonable efficiency.

  • 본 논문은 하이퍼미디어 시나리오 수행시간 예측 방법을 고찰한다. 시나리오 수행 시간 정보는 사용자가 본인의 시간 사용 계획 수립이나, 정보 제공자가 효율적인 정보 감상 스케쥴을 수립하여 제시하는 데 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이러한 정보를 얻는 방법에 대한 연구는 [1]과 [2]에 소개된 두 가지 밖에 없다. 이 두가지 방법은 모두 변형된 페트리 넷을 이용하여 시나리오를 모델링 한 다음, [1]은 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 방법을 적용하고 [2]는 통계적 기대값을 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 이 두가지 방법을 소개한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자기 주도적 학습 환경 구현에 매우 적합한 특성을 지니고 있는 웹을 통해 보다 효과적인 수학학습 시스템을 설계할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 기존의 Web에서 제공되는 수학학습을 살펴보면 텍스트 위주의 설명, 단순한 문제를 제공하고 정, 오답의 결과만을 보여 주는 형태가 많았다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 학생들의 흥미와 학습동기를 유발시키기 위해 동영상, 음성, 애니메이션 등의 멀티미디어 자료를 이용하여 학습내용을 전개하도록 구성하였다. 다양한 멀티미디어 자료의 제공으로 학습자의 학습동기와 흥미를 유발시키고 자기 주도적 학습을 가능하게 하여 학습 성취감을 증가시킬 수 있다.

  • An information structure of large size hypermedia application is usually hierarchical, and the sibling nodes in this structure have same or similar tags and contents. a word "개그" that means the common set of sibling nodes in the hierarchical information structure is used in this paper. It proposes a design method that divides form and content from nodes and it proposes HTML page generation algorithm from forms and contents. This method has reusability of form, maintainability of documents and reduction of cost for authoring.

  • HALS (Hypermidia Aided Learning System) is very useful computer networking educational system in knowledge-driven society, and has been developed by Kyungwon University. This system has three characteristics; 1) face-to-face learning, 2) ultra high-speed information networking, 3) web-based hypermedia courseware. So, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the application to engineering educational program (electrical engineering: electric power system, control system). For this purpose it is described the definition and characteristics of HALS. Next, it is represented the model of electrical engineering educational program applied to HALS and the developed courseware.

  • A German philosopher, Herbert Bolz predicted that the human way of thinking would be fundamentally and completely changed because of digital media and the 'Gutenberg-Galaxis', named by M.McLuhan which was symbolized of modern reason was doomed to be over. He thought that the limit of reason-centered European culture would be overcome by the up-to-date multimedia to revive the communication life. On this theory, he emphasized the emotional perception, 'aisthesis' which is original meaning of aesthetics. That is to say, he insisted on the restoration of communication media to enable the five senses' amusement condition mentioned by Kant. This thesis asserts that the representative hypermedia digital animation may play a key role to rehabilitate human sensibility pressed by reason centered modernism. Digital animation has the unique worth of Art that is firstly to deal with time and space and enable unlimited expressions and can communicate effectively as a characteristic synthetic medium which consists of intensive computer techniques. Based on the background, this thesis analyzes the possibility of the digital animation as a new medium. Especially, it is focused on the relations to the hypermedia theory of Norbert Bolz who is a media analyst and professor of a design college.

A Study on Development of Integrated OPAC Based on Hypermedia Techniques (하이퍼미디어 기술에 기반한 통합 OPAC구현에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to design a model of integrated OPAC called as EconRef. This model not only provides users of libraries with systematic, rapid information service, but also supports librarians to do their tasks effectively. The designed model is constructed based on two operating systems such as REGIS system and The Book House and is developed by using KPWin++ is an expert system shell which combines hypertext and expert system functions. The designed system consists of six modules ; three reference expert systems for document sources, experts and statistical sources; OPAC ; external database ; user's guide. For the evaluation of the designed system, performance of EconRef system is compared with that of the naive and expert reference librarians. And also the features of the system are compared with those of REGIS systems. The tests comparing BconRef system searching with librarians searching have shown that EconRef system is at least as good as searching with expert librarians and much superior to searching with naive librarians.

  • In this paper, we design MHEG engine that can generate MHEG objects and present It to the users in Multimedia/Hypermedia Applications In the MHEG engine, the transmitted MHEG objects decoded into internal format. For the easy interpretation of MHEG objects, we define internal format as to be matched for each MHEG object. We easily processobjectinformation using the tree data structure because object inheritance and possession can be represented in tree structure. Object inheritance and possession must be represented in the internal format because they used in resolving the reference to external objector data file. The presentation synchronization extracts the synchronization information from MHEG composite objects, representing and controlling heterogencous media associated to spatio- temporal relation. In order to exactly represent the spatio-temporal synchronization included into MHEG composite object, we propose the algorithm that processes synchronization using the message of the synchronization module and the internal objects. MHEG engine proposed in this paper may be basic technology fro multimedia application area using Korea New Net.

  • WWW has accepted widely to the who wants the hypermedia-based internet services. And WWW introduces intranet environment which consists of the networks supporting TCP/IP and HTTP protocol for processing the task of company inside that. Intranet application should support not only acquiring the informations, but also producing, modifying and deleting the ones. But since previous hypermedia development methods lack modeling behavior of system and reuse, we need a new method for intranet application. In this thesis, we have proposed the OOIDM(Object Oriented Intranet application Development Method)supporting modeling behavior of system and reuse. And we have proposed the design patterns available for the intranet domain in order to reuse the design information. And we introduces a case study about OOIDM applying design patterns. Adaptation of design patterns to intranet domain gives us much benefits. Design patterns make it easier to reuse the successful design, architecture and reducing the design decisions.

  • 방대한 양의 분산 멀티미디어 자원에 대한 엑세스를 제공하는 하이퍼미디어 기능을 사용한 WWW의 성공은 정보관리 시스템의 구성요소로써 하이퍼미디어 항해자의 실행 가능성에 대한 확고한 증거를 제공한다. 그러나 논 논문에서는 현존하는 하이퍼미디어 시스템에 거의 없는 필요한 모든 기능을 제공하는 방법을 보였다. 개방형 분산 멀티미디어 자원 통합 모델의모든 기능을 제공해 주기 위하여 개방형 분산 하이퍼미디어 계층의 프리젠테이션 계층과 양질의 서비스 계층을 통하여 융통성 있고 확장 가능한 분산 멀티미디어 정보 시스템이 개발될 수 있는 범위 내의 모듈러 프레임워크(modular framework)로써 행동하도록 설계되었다. 개방형 분산 하이퍼 미디어 프레임 워크 모델은 QoS(Quality of Service)제공을 위하여 이질적인 분산 멀티미디어 자원 통합의 하이퍼미디어 프레임워크 모델을 하이퍼미디어 세션과 함께 제시함으로써 넓게 분산되어 있는 자원에 대하여 투명하게 접근할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.
