It takes long time in numerical simulation because structural design for tire requires the nonlinear material property. Neural networks has been widely studied to engineering design to reduce numerical computation time. The numbers of hidden layer, hidden layer neuron and training data have been considered as the structural design variables of neural networks. In application of neural networks to optimize design, there are a few studies about arrangement method of input layer neurons. To investigate the effect of input layer neuron arrangement on neural networks, the variables of tire contour design and tension in bead area were assigned to inputs and output for neural networks respectively. Design variables arrangement in input layer were determined by main effect analysis. The number of hidden layer, the number of hidden layer neuron and the number of training data and so on have been considered as the structural design variables of neural networks. In application to optimization design problem of neural networks, there are few studies about arrangement method of input layer neurons. To investigate the effect of arrangement of input neurons on neural network learning tire contour design parameters and tension in bead area were assigned to neural input and output respectively. Design variables arrangement in input layer was determined by main effect analysis.

SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) drives require the accurate position information of the rotor. These informations are generally provided by a tacho generator or digital shaft-position encoder These speed sensors lower the system reliability and require special attention to noise. This paper describes a new approach to estimating SRM speed from measured terminal voltages and currents for speed sensorless control. The described method is based on the sliding mode observer. The rotor speed and position observers are estimated by the adaptation law using the real and estimated currents. However, the conventional adaptive sliding mode observer based on the variable structure control theory has some disadvantages that the estimated values including the high-frequency chattering and the steady state error generated due to the infinite feedback gain chosen and the discontinuous control input. To reduce the chattering and steady state error, an integrator is also inserted in the sliding mode observer strategy. The described adaptive sliding mode observer decreases the vibration to the switching hyper-plane of the sliding mode by adding integrator. The described methodology incorporates the Lyapunov algorithm to drive the rotor speed and the stator resistance such that it can overcome the problem of sensitivity in the face of SRM parameter variation. Also, without any mechanical information. The rotor speed of SRM is obtained form adaptive scheme. The described method is verified through the simulation and experiment.

Because the education system that based on objective data is needed for the beginning technologists in the department of medicine laboratory, development of the CAI system based on Gram-Stain images is needed in clinical microbiology field. So, in this study, we implemented CAI system based on Gram-Stain images for medical technologists under Web using multimedia toolbook. Because this system is implemented under Web, more and more beginning technologists can have a remote-education beyond time and space, can save human power and time that needed due to hold in common of educational information, and cannot learn mistaken microbiology images because of learning execution based on objective data. Also, implemented system brings a higher interest and a learning effect to medical technologies because of hyper-media method that offered from toolbook. In the future, it will be needed a continuous acceptance of changing knowledge and it will be useful system for technologist in case of applying various examinations based Gram-Stain method of this study.

This paper discusses the development of an educational web-based power flow program for undergraduate students. The interaction between lectures and users can be much enhanced via the web-based programs which result in the student's learning effectiveness on the power flow problem. However the difficulties for developing web-based application programs are that there can be the numerous unspecified users to access the application programs. To overcome the aforementioned multi-users problem and to develope the educational web-based power flow program, we have revised the system architecture, the modeling of application programs, and database which efficiently and effectively manages the complex data sets related to the power flow analysis program. The developed application program is composed of the physical three tiers where the middle tier is logically divided into two kinds of application programs. The divided application programs are interconnected by using the Web-service based on XML (Extended Markup Technology) and HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) which make it possible the distributed computing technology Also, this paper describes the method of database modeling to handle effectively when the numerous users change the parameters of the power system to compare the results of the base case.
The full energy peak efficiency of a hyper pure germanium (HPGe) detector was calibrated in a wide energy range from 0.06 to 11 MeV. Both the experimental technique and the Monte Carlo method were used for the efficiency calibration. The measurement was performed using the standard radioisotopes in the low energy region of $60{\sim}1408$ keV, which was further extended up to 11 MeV by using the $^{14}N(n,r)\;and\;^{35}Cl(n,r)$ reactions. The GEANT Monte Carlo code was used for efficiency calculation. The calculated efficiency had the same dependency on the r-ray energy with the measurement, and the discrepancy between the calculation and the measurement was minimized by fine-tuning of the detector geometry. From the calculated result, the efficiency curve of the HPGe detector was reliably determined particularly in the high energy region above several MeV, where the number of measured efficiency points is relatively small despite the wide energy region. The calculated efficiency agreed with the measurement within about $7\%$. In addition to the efficiency calculation, the origin of the local minimum near 600 keV on the efficiency curve was analyzed as a general characteristics of a HPGe detector.
Optimization process of pre-swirl nozzle geometry was conducted to improve the discharge coefficient of pre-swirl system by using CFD. The optimization of pre-swirl nozzle shape covered the converging angle and the location of the converging nozzle. Optimization process included Optimal Latin Hyper-cube Design method to get the experimental points and the Kriging method to create the response surface which gives candidate points. The process was finished when the difference between the predicted value and CFD value of candidate point was less than 0.1 %. This paper compared the Reference model, Initial model which is the first model of optimization and Optimized model to study flow characteristics. Finally, the discharge coefficient of Optimized model is improved about 17 % to the Reference model.

This paper presents the method that allows easy and rapid integration of legacy resources within the company and between departments. The proposed system can easily construct a distributed environment for collaborative design between departments in the companies. It supports knowledge-based integration system, which allows designers to develop product with deep knowledge about product design. For the purpose, DOME (Distributed Object-based Modeling Environment)-which has been developed through various studies-was used in this paper. To overcome its problems and insufficiency, the Web-Integrator is proposed. The Web-Integrator is very suitable for an Internet environment because it uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) and XML (extensible Markup Language) as its main communication method. By supporting the remote object access via URL (Uniform Resource Locator), the implementation of the integrated system makes the Web-Integrator systematic and intuitive. All the functions and resources provided by DOME could be used with the interface that enables bi-directional communication with the DOME system. Web-Integrator provides full web-based environments for the general designers, who do not have a full design knowledge and experience, and the proposed system allows design operations to happen at any place and anytime. Also it provides XML-RPC(Remote Procedure Call) based web service framework, which allows other systems to use easily the service that the DOME system supplies regardless the location and the platform.
On account of multiple causes, including prolonged global economic crisis, addressing environmental pollution and the advent of hyper-connected society, a new paradigm called 'sharing economy' has rapidly emerged. Many startups have attempted to build promising business model based on the sharing economy concept. Nevertheless, successful cases are still very rare in the global level, except for Uber and Airbnb cases. Therefore, this study analyzes necessary causes and sufficient causes for successful settlements in the market through a comparative case analysis on digital matching firms in the sharing economy businesses. For the case study, we compare five successful cases (Uber, Airbnb, Kickstarter, TaskRabbit and DogVacay), three failure cases (Homejoy, Ridejoy and Tuterspree) and a platform cooperativism case (Juno) in accordance with six value attributes of business model including value proposition, market segment, value chain, cost structure and profit potential, value network and competitive strategy. We apply Boolean method to support controlled comparison and eliminate unnecessary attributes. The Boolean analysis result shows that value proposition, cost structure and profit potential, value network and competitive strategy are the essential attributes. Furthermore, the result indicates that each attribute is a necessary condition, where all four conditions should be met simultaneously in order to be successful. With this result, we discuss essential consideration for those who are planning startup based on the sharing economy business model.

Automotive parts manufacturers are doing their best to strengthen the competitiveness. They are developing a large variety of new manufacturing technologies to reduce the manufacturing cost. Combined One Body Stamping(C.O.B.S) is one of the remarkable technologies to reduce production cost. C.O.B.S makes possible to form several parts together in a process using only one die set while conventional stamping demands the same number of die sets to the number of parts. But the deformation mechanism in C.O.B.S is more complicated because the interactions between blanks. So the interaction effects should be considered in the stage of initial blank shape design. In the study, a blank design method to consider the interactions between blanks was proposed and verified through the simulations and experiments. A commercial incremental FE code, LS-Dyna, was used to simulate the C.O.B.S Process. And a reverse one step FE code, Hyper Form, was used to predict initial blank shape. The boundary conditions of the reverse one step FE analysis were determined by the proposed method.
