  • The equipment of textiles let off is a part of inspection machine which inspects finished textiles and it checks up textiles through that. This study suggests a method to select the capacity and initial gas pressure of accumulator to control surge rising pressure occurring when suddenly braking action to a desired degree. An accumulator in hydraulic systems is by hydraulic machinery which stores kinetic energy of inertia body during braking. A series of computer simulations were done for the brake action The results of the simulation work were compared with those of experiments.

  • An accumulator in hydraulic systems stores kinetic energy during braking action, and then that control hasty surge pres-sure. This study suggests a method to select the capacity of accumulator to control surge pressure to a desired degree. The selection method is based upon a trial and error approach and computer simulation. A mathematical dynamic model of the system was derived and the parameters in the model were identified from experimental data. A series of computer simulation were done for the brake action. The results of the simulation work were compared with those of experiments. These results of the computer simular-tion and experiments show that the proposed method can be applied effectively to control the surge pressure of the hydraulic regenerative brake systems.

  • Hydraulic breakers, the attachment devices of the excavators, refer to a machine that converts back and forth motions of pistons into energies to break objects down finely. As the use of hydraulic breakers has been steadily increasing world-wide, consumers have become more interested in not just the quality of hydraulic breakers but their reliability. This study show functions and usages of several main parts on hydraulic breakers. In addition, based on the effect of action of hydraulic breakers, FMEA was performed to figure out the major causes and manifestations of malfunctioning. As above mentioned, we analyzed reliability of hydraulic breakers by models, and the data that had been used for the analyses were obtained from malfunctioning data in the field.

  • In this paper a configuration of the load evaluation device for the tilting actuator using hydraulic power is presented, which makes it possible to measure the force action on the tilting actuator. It is possible to measure only current using the conventional electro-mechanical actuator when the bogie is in the process of the tilting. This makes impossible to measure the force acting on the tilting actuator. In order to overcome this problem a kinetic mechanism test system using hydraulic cylinder is proposed. The system are consisted of hydraulic cylinder for the tilting actuation, control system to control hydraulic power, sensors to measure for force and displacement and monitoring system for the user interface.

  • This study deals with the position control of a hydraulic cylinder system operated by two port 3-way high speed solenoid valve in Pulse-Width-Modulation mode, instead of using conventional electro-hydraulic servovalve. Due to the complexity and the relatively poor reliability of the servovalve, an actuator using simpler and more study high speed solenoid valve will be presented. The high speed solenoid valve acts as converters of electronic pulse signal to hydraulic ones. It has been pointed out that there are practical problems to be solved in the PWM system, that is (1) accuracy of positioning control becomes considerably insufficient because the system is affected by on/off action of the solenoid valves, and (2) serious nonlinerality appears in the valve characteristics as a result of the switching behavior of the valves. As a method to overcome these defects, the differential PWM driving method of a hydraulic cylinder that improved the steady-state-error, flow rate nonlinearity in simple PWM, and the hydraulic hunting of dead time compensated-PWM driving is proposed in this study.

  • This study describes a hydraulic fluid property compensator under the various operating conditions. Because hydraulic fluid systems have much more excellent features than other control systems, they are used in many fields. However, the characteristics of hydraulic fluid are changed due to various operating conditions. This phenomenon is called uncertainty. Especially, bulk modulus is considered as the most dominant parameter in this study. Under the wide range of temperature and pressure, bulk modulus is changed. In order to overcome the uncertainty, $H_{\infty}$ technique will be used for this study. Spectral factorization, model-matching problem and controller parametrization are also applied to achieve the desired robust control action. Designed controller using the $H_{\infty}$ technique, is adopted for the hydraulic fluid valve-motor system.

An Evaluation of Operator's Action Time for Core Cooling Recovery Operation in Nuclear Power Plant (원자력발전소의 노심냉각회복 조치에 대한 운전원 조치시간 평가)

  • Operator's action time is evaluated from MAAP4 analysis used in conventional probabilistic safety assessment(PSA) of a nuclear power plant. MAAP4 code which was developed for severe accident analysis is too conservative to perform a realistic PSA. A best-estimate code such as RELAP5/MOD3, MARS has been used to reduce the conservatism of thermal hydraulic analysis. In this study, operator's action time of core cooling recovery operation is evaluated by using the MARS code, which its Fussell-Vessely(F-V) value was evaluated as highly important in a small break loss of coolant(SBLOCA) event and loss of component cooling water(LOCCW) event in previous PSA. The main conclusions were elicited : (1) MARS analysis provides larger time window for operator's action time than MAAP4 analysis and gives the more realistic time window in PSA (2) Sufficient operator's action time can reduce human error probability and core damage frequency in PSA.

  • This paper is concered on the development of low-cost fine blanking die with two fluid chambers of which the pressure can be controlled by a hydraulic unit and its application to producting circular blanks in a conventional hydraulic press, not in a special triple-action press usually adopte in fine blanking operation. Four important working parameters affecting on the precision accuracy of products such as existence and position of Vee-ring, stripping force and counter punching force are primarily considered for experiments. Finite element analysis by suing ABAQUA software is approxi- mately made for blanking of circular specimen with a flat stripper plate and then compared with experimental measurements. The the theoretical prediction of camber height which represents deflection of a dish-shaped specimen after blanking seems to give a qualitatively good agreement. It is shown through experiments the the camber height decreases with decreasing stripping force and also with increasing counter punching force, but particularly depending on the latter much more than the former.

  • Parts and structures such as piston rod and knuckle joint for the use of hydraulic cylinder are often welded together in some fashion, usually due to cost and process effectiveness. Welding strongly affects the material by the process of heating and subsequent cooling as well as by the fusion process with additional filler material. Furthermore, a weld is usually far from being perfect, containing inclusions, pores, cavities, undercuts etc. As a consequence, fatigue failures appear in welded structures mostly at the welds rather than in the base metal, even if the latter contains notches. For this reason, fatigue analyses are of high practical interest for all welded structures under the action of cyclic loads. This paper describes the influence of welding parameters, material combinations and heat treatment on the fatigue behavior of welded cylinder rod. In addition, statistical characterization of stress-life response in weldment of hydraulic cylinder rod are presented.
