The performance of Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors (asymmetric-type) depends on many factors such as the capacity ratio, material properties, cell designs and operating conditions. Among these, in consideration of balanced electrochemical reactions, the capacity ratio of the negative (anode) to positive (cathode) electrode is one of the most important factors to design the Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors for high energy storing performance. We assemble Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors using activated carbon (AC) as anode material, lithium manganese oxide as cathode material, and organic electrolyte (1 mol L-1 LiPF6 in acetonitrile). At this point, the thickness of the anode electrode is controlled at 160, 200, and 240 ㎛. Also, thickness of cathode electrode is fixed at 60 ㎛. Then, the effect of negative and positive electrode ratio on the electrochemical performance of AC/LiMn2O4 Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors is investigated, especially in the terms of capacity and cyclability at high current density. In this study, we demonstrate the relationship of capacity ratio between anode and cathode electrode, and the excellent electrochemical performance of AC/LiMn2O4 Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors. The remarkable capability of these materials proves that manipulation of the capacity ratio is a promising technology for high-performance Li-ion hybrid supercapacitors.
New sol-gel precursors having the ability to protect iron against corrosion were synthesized and used to prepare organic-inorganic hybrid coatings based on epoxy. Bisphenol A epoxy was modified with 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane to improve the compatibility, and water and HCl were used as catalysts for sol-gel process. Various coating formulations were prepared depending on the type of sol-gel precursors and the amount of each ingredient, and cast on iron substrates by dip-coating and thermally cured. Corrosion protection properties of coated iron were studied by a salt spray test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy under 0.1 M NaCl electrolyte. Hybrid coatings containing anticorrosive functional group exhibited excellent corrosion protection on iron, compared to that of typical hybrid coatings. From electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, the hybrid coatings containing anticorrosive functional group could maintaine the initial impedance after 500 h, while the impedance of hybrid coatings without them started to decrease after 24 h.

Seat waterproofing materials applied to the roof of a building concrete structure inevitably produce joints and are applied with opposite dam joints or overlapping joints depending on the waterproof material applied to the top of the sheet. In this case, the joint performance is determined by the material at the top, rather than by the superimposed joint. In order to solve this problem, various reinforcements have been used to apply to the connecting parts of the opposite dam, but the problem of attachment between different materials or the lack of reinforcement of the joint tape has not been solved. Therefore, for the purpose of securing tensile performance to the joints, this study is used as a reinforcement for the joints of PP materials with high tensile performance and as a reinforcement for nylon materials.

In this paper, we report the experimental results of a hybrid wideband fiber amplifier. The amplifying medium is a concatenated hybrid fiber consisting of Er-doped fiber (EDF) and dispersion compensating fiber (DCF). The gain mechanisms are based on stimulated emission in the EDF and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in the DCF. Since we simultaneously use optical amplification by the two processes, the gain bandwidth is easily expanded over 105 nm by a two-tone pumping scheme. Using an experimental setup constructed with a hybrid structure of EDF-DCF-EDF, we analyzed the spectral behavior of amplified spontaneous emission for pumping powers. We achieved an optical gain of over 20 dB in the wavelength range from 1,500 to 1,600 nm under optimized pumping conditions to make the spectral gain shape flat.
Solution-styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) composites were manufactured using four kinds of fillers: silica-silane coated carbon black (SC-CB) hybrid, starch-SC-CB hybrid, pure silica, and pure starch. The influence of filler type on the mechanical properties of the rubber matrix was studied in this work. SC-CB was prepared by silane-graft-coating using vinyl triethoxy silane and carbon black, which enhanced the dispersion effect between the rubber matrix and the filler, and improved the mechanical properties of the compounds. The morphology of the composites was observed by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The thermal decomposition behavior of the composites was determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and the crosslinking behavior of the composites was tested using a rubber process analyzer (RPA). The hardness, tensile strength, swelling ratio, and gas transmittance rate of the composites were evaluated according to ASTM. The test results revealed that with the addition of SC-CB, the hybrid fillers, especially those blended with silica, showed a better reinforcement effect, the highest hardness and tensile strength, and stable thermal decomposition behavior. This implies that the silica-SC-CB hybrid filler has a notable mechanical reinforcement effect on the SSBR matrix. Because of self-crosslinking during its synthesis, the starch-SC-CB hybrid filler produced the most dense matrix, which improved the anti-gas transmittance property. The composites with the hybrid fillers had better anti-swelling properties as compared to the neat SSBR composite, which was due to the hydrophilicity of silica and starch.
The paper considers the free vibration analysis of FGM grid systems. Up to now, very little work has been done on this type of system and the paper aspires to fill this gap. Based on the hybrid-stress finite element formulation free vibration solutions for FGM grid systems of various aspect ratios, different types of gradations functions, and support conditions are determined. The tabulation of these results, not available thus far, should be useful to designers and researchers who may use them.

Recently, many researches are carried for high-speed and light craft. In this study, the optimum structural design procedure and the computer program are developed to minimize the hull weight of SES(Surface Effect Ship) built of composite materials. Three types of composite materials-Sandwich, Single Skin and Hybrid type- are considered and the efficiency of each type is investigated. In design process, the optimum design of main members is performed at first considering longitudinal strength. And then, the transverse member design is performed considering torsional strength SSDP(Structural Synthesis Design program) of U.S. Navy is adopted for design algorithm and DnV classification nile for design loads and strength criteria. For optimum structural design, ES 1+1 optimization technique is used.

Different types of hybrid negative materials on pitch based carbon and natural graphite for lithium ion batteries were studied. Two types of active materials were prepared, that is, pitch based graphite carbon, and pitch based carbon impregnating natural graphite. The specific capacity, capacity recovery in high temperature condition, and other electrochemical properties were achieved for these materials. We found that addition of natural graphite type to the pitch based carbon can significant1y improve the specific capacity and interfacial resistance. However, use of natural graphite will cause a serious capacity loss in the high temperature condition owing to its increasing interface resistance. The specific capacity ranged from 321 to 348 mAh/g and the maximum specific capacity was obtained in the case of pitch based carbon impregnating natural graphite.
The objective of this study is to determine the engineering properties of micro fine hybrid silicate grout materials that were developed recently. In this study, MSG-N type was mainly used as grout materials, and the chemical components, grain size distribution, mineral characteristics were analyzed. Moreover, the properties of active silica and ordinary portland cement acting as coagulating agent were analyzed and compared with each other. To determine the engineering properties, the bleeding test, viscosity test, coagulation test, examination with naked eye, photographing by using SEM, uniaxial compression test and in-situ application test for reclaimed ground were carried out. A series of test results showed that the strength of micro fine hybrid silicate grout materials was about twice that of ordinary sodium silicate grout materials, and alkali leakage decreased dramatically when MSG method was utilized. Especially, based on the evaluation of the application of the MSG method to field, this method would be very effective in reducing coefficient of permeability due to its excelent permeability.

This paper describes the fabrication and heat transfer property of 50 watts rated LED array module where multiple chips are mounted on chip-on-board type ceramic-metal hybrid substrate with high heat dissipation property for high power street and anti-explosive lighting system. The high heat transfer ceramic-metal hybrid substrate was fabricated by conformal coating of thick film glass-ceramic and silver pastes to form insulation and conductor layers, using thick film screen printing method on top of the high thermal conductivity aluminum alloy heat-spreading panel, then co-fired at $515^{\circ}C$. A comparative LED array module with the same configuration using epoxy resin based FR-4 PCB with thermalvia type was also fabricated, then the thermal properties were measured with multichannel temperature sensors and thermal resistance measuring system. As a result, the thermal resistance of the ceramic-metal hybrid substrate in the $4{\times}9$ type LEDs array module exhibited about one third to the value as that of FR-4 substrate, implying that at least triple performance of heat transfer property as that of FR-4 substrate was realized.
