혼합 요소에서의 개선된 민감도 계산법 (The calculation of refined semi-analytic sensitivity based on the hybrid element)

  • Structural optimization often require the evaluation of design sensitivities. The Semi Analytic method(SAM) is popular for shape optimization because this method has several advantages. But when relatively large rigid body motions are identified for individual elements, the SA method shows severe inaccuracy. In this paper, the improvement of design sensitivities corresponding to the rigid body mode is evaluated by exact differentiation of the rigid body modes. Moreover, the error of the SA method caused by numerical difference scheme is alleviated by using a series approximation for the sensitivity derivatives and considering the higher order terms.

  • 본 논문에서는 게이트의 길이가 0.7${\mu}m$인 n형 GaAs MESFET를 2차원적으로 수치 해석하였으며, 이동도를 국부 전계의 함수로 취하는 드리프트 -확산 모델을 사용하였다. 이산화 방법으로는 종래에 사용되던 FDM(finite difference method), FEM(finite element method)을 사용치 아낳고 Control-Volume Formulation을 사용하였으며, numerical scheme으로는 기존의 hybrid scheme이나 upwind scheme 대신에 exponential scheme과 거의 근사한 power-law scheme을 사용하였다. 이때 드리프트 속도와 확산 속도의 비율을 나타내는 Peclet number의 개념을 사용하였으며, 이 개념을 사용하여 control volume의 경계에서 numerical scheme을 고려한 전류식을 제안하였다. 앞에서 고려한 모델들과 수치해석 방법을 사용하여 시뮬레이션한 I-V 특성은 기존 노문의 결과와 일치하였다. 따라서 본 논문의 결과가 GaAs MESFET를 위한 유용한 2차원 시뮬레이터가 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 I-V 특성외에 채널 밑바닥에서이 속도 및 전계 분포를 통해 드리프트-확산 모델을 고려한 경우에 발생하는 속도 포화의 메카니즘을 제시했고, Dipole의 발생위치 및 발생 원인과 드레인 전류와의 관계 등에 대해서도 제시했다.

Hybrid TPA를 이용한 파워트레인 구조기인 실내소음 예측 (Prediction of Interior Noise by Excitation Force of Powertrain Based on Hybrid Transfer Path Analysis)

  • In early design stage, the simulation of interior noise is useful for the enhancement of the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance in a vehicle. The traditional transfer path analysis (TPA) technology cannot simulate the interior noise since it uses the experimental method. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, the hybrid TPA is developed as the novel approach. The hybrid TPA uses the simulated excitation force as the input force, which excites the flexible body of a car at the mount point, while the traditional TPA uses the measured force. This simulated force is obtained by numerical analysis for the FE (finite element) model of a powertrain. The interior noise is predicted by multiplying the simulated force by the vibro-acoustic transfer function (VATF) of the vehicle. The VATF is the acoustic response in the compartment of a car to the input force at the mount point of the powertrain in the flexible car body. The trend of the predicted interior noise based on the hybrid TPA very well corresponds to the measured interior noise, although there is some difference due to not only the experimental error and the simulation error but also the effect of the air-borne path.

  • This study investigates the design factors of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) which is applied to Hybrid electric vehicle as a driving power. Recently, there are many studies of IPMSM for application to Hybrid Electric Vehicle, because IPMSM has characteristics of high torque, high power density and high efficiency which come from reluctance torque due to difference of inductance as well as magnet torque. This study analyzes the inductance and design characteristics of IPMSM by using finite element method and focuses on design and analysis of IPMSM which can operates with high efficiency at low speed range. For this embodiment, magnet shape is changed from conventional block type to arc type without any change of outline dimension of motor and this change of magnet shape makes it possible to increase back EMF and sinusoidal waveform. Analysis results are verified by test of improved and embodied motor. As a test result , increased back EMF and sharply decrease of harmonics are secured and through this contribution of reduced fuel consumption of Hybrid electric vehicle is expected.

FDTD 방법을 이용한 MRI Birdcage RF Coil의 Endcap 효과 분석 (Analysis of Endcap Effect for MRI Birdcage RF Coil by FDTD Method)

  • 목적 : 자기공명영상(MRI)에서 두부영상촬영을 위하여 가장 많이 사용되는 birdcage RF (Radiofrequency) 코일의 RF B1 필드가 코일 중앙부에서 endring영역으로 갈수록 줄어드는 것을 볼 수 있다. Birdcage RF 코일에서 endcap 쉴드가 코일 중앙부에서 endring영역으로 갈수록 RF B1 필드 균질성에 얼마나 영향을 주는지에 대하여 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법 : Lowpass, highpass, hybrid birdcage RF 코일들에 대해 각각 FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) 모의실험으로 RF B1 자속밀도 분포를 비교하였다. 모의 실험결과 RF Bl 필드가 가장 높은 조건인 highpass birdcage RF코일을 선택하여 RF코일 endring 근처에 endcap 쉴드를 적용함으로써 RF B1 균질성에 얼마나 영향이 있는 지 조사하였다. 결과 : FDTD모의실험결과 highpass birdcage RF코일은 코일 내부에서 RF B1 필드가 lowpass나 hybrid 형태의 birdcage RF 코일들 보다 우수하나 코일 중앙부에서 endring 영역까지의 균질성은 떨어졌다. 그러나 highpass birdcage RF 코일에 endcap 쉴드를 적용하면 hybrid birdcage RF 코일의 RF B1 필드와 비슷한 수준이면서 sagittal 방향의 전체적인 RF B1 균질성은 우수하였다. 결론 : 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 임상에서 MRI자장의 세기가 커질수록 RF코일 내부의 RF B1 균질성이 현저히 떨어지는 문제점이 있는데 이를 개선하는데 적용 할 수 있다고 사료된다.

Hybrid RANS and Potential Based Numerical Simulation for Self-Propulsion Performances of the Practical Container Ship

  • The finite volume based multi-block RANS code, WAVIS developed at MOERI is applied to the numerical self-propulsion test. WAVIS uses the cell-centered finite volume method for discretization of the governing equations. The realizable $k-{\epsilon}$ turbulence model with a wall function is employed for the turbulence closure. The free surface is captured with the two-phase level set method and body forces are used to model the effects of a propeller without resolving the detail blade flow. The propeller forces are obtained using an unsteady lifting surface method based on potential flow theory. The numerical procedure followed the self-propulsion model experiment based on the 1978 ITTC performance prediction method. The self-propulsion point is obtained iteratively through balancing the propeller thrust, the ship hull resistance and towing force that is correction for Reynolds number difference between the model and full scale. The unsteady lifting surface code is also iterated until the propeller induced velocity is converged in order to obtain the propeller force. The self-propulsion characteristics such as thrust deduction, wake fraction, propeller efficiency, and hull efficiency are compared with the experimental data of the practical container ship. The present paper shows that hybrid RANS and potential flow based numerical method is promising to predict the self-propulsion parameters of practical ships as a useful tool for the hull form and propeller design.

축하중 단말뚝구조물의 RSM기반 확률론적 신뢰성해석 (RSM-based Probabilistic Reliability Analysis of Axial Single Pile Structure)

  • 말뚝-지반의 상호거동과 다양한 설계변수들의 불확실성을 고려한 축하중을 받는 단말뚝의 위험도를 정량화하기 위하여 효율적이고 정확한 복합 신뢰성해석 기법이 본 논문에서 제안되었다. 제안된 신뢰성해석 기법은 응답면기법, 유한차분법, 일차신뢰도법과 반복 선형보간기법의 개념들을 지능적으로 결합하였다. 단말뚝-지반계의 확정적 해석을 위해서 하중전이법과 유한차분법을 통합하였다. 하중조건, 말뚝의 재료와 단면특성, 그리고 지반특성과 관련된 불확실성을 명확하게 고려하였다. 말뚝과 지반의 사용성 한계상태 및 강도 한계상태에 대한 위험도를 평가하였다. 축하중을 받는 사실적인 말뚝-지반계의 안전성평가에 대한 제안기법의 적용성, 정확성 및 효율성을 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션의 결과와 비교함으로써 검증하였다.

New Scattering Matrix Model for Modeling Ferrite Media Using the TLM Method

  • This paper aims to extend the transmission line matrix method with a hybrid symmetrical condensed node (HSCN) to model ferrite media in the time domain. To take into account the anisotropy and dispersive properties of ferrite media, equivalent current sources are incorporated into supplementary stubs of the original HSCN. The scattering matrix of the proposed HSCN is provided, and the validity of this approach is demonstrated for both transversely and longitudinally magnetized ferrites. Agreement is achieved between the results of this approach and those of the theoretical and the finite-difference time-domain method.

Eulerian-Lagrangian 혼합모형에 의한 종확산 방정식의 수치해법 (An Eulerian-Lagrangian Hybrid Numerical Method for the Longitudinal Dispersion Equation)

  • 종확산 방정식에 대한 유한차분 모형으로서, 5차의 보간다항식을 사용한 Holly-Preissmann 기법과 Generalized Crank-Nicholson 기법을 결합한 혼합모형을 개발하였다. 순간적으로 부하된 오염원의 종확산문제에 본 모형 및 특성곡선을 고려한 다른 수치기법들을 적용하여 정확해와 비교하였다. 보 모형에 의한 계산결과, Courant 수에 관계없이 수치진동이 전혀 발생하지 않았으며, 최대농도 발생지점도 정확해와 일치하였다. 모형의 적용에 있어서 시간가중치 $\theta$의 값이 작을수록 계산의 정확성이 전반적으로 향상되는 것으로 나타났으며, $\theta$의 값을 크게 할수록 최대농도값을 과대평가하는 경향을 보였다. 전반적으로 Courant 수가 작을수록 정확한 계산결과를 나타내고 있으나 그 민감도는, 특히 $\theta$의 값이 작을수록, 매우 작게 나타났다. 3차의 보간다항식을 사용하는 혼합모형 및 연산자 분리방법들과의 비교결과, 이송항이 지배적일수록 본 모형이 정확해와 가장 근사한 계산결과를 보임을 알 수 있었다.

Reasonably completed state assessment of the self-anchored hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge: An analytical algorithm

  • In order to solve the problem of calculating the reasonable completed bridge state of a self-anchored hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge (SA-HCSB), this paper proposes an analytical method. This method simplifies the main beam into a continuous beam with multi-point rigid supports and solves the support reaction forces. According to the segmented catenary theory, it simultaneously solves the horizontal forces of the main span main cables and the stay cables and iteratively calculates the equilibrium force system on the main beam in the collaborative system bridge state while completing the shape finding of the main span main cable and stay cables. Then, the horizontal forces of the side span main cables and stay cables are obtained based on the balance of horizontal forces on the bridge towers, and the shape finding of the side spans are completed according to the segmented catenary theory. Next, the difference between the support reaction forces of the continuous beam with multiple rigid supports obtained from the initial and final iterations is used to calculate the load of ballast on the side span main beam. Finally, the axial forces and strains of each segment of the main beam and bridge tower are obtained based on the loads applied by the main cable and stay cables on the main beam and bridge tower, thereby obtaining analytical data for the bridge in the reasonable completed state. In this paper, the rationality and effectiveness of this analytical method are verified through a case study of a SA-HCSB with a main span of 720m in finite element analysis. At the same time, it is also verified that the equilibrium force of the main beam under the reasonably completed bridge state can be obtained through iterative calculation. The analytical algorithm in this paper has clear physical significance, strong applicability, and high accuracy of calculation results, enriching the shape-finding method of this bridge type.
