With the growth of the massive amount of data, the failure probability of the cloud storage node is becoming more and more big. A single fault tolerance strategy, such as replication and erasure codes, has some unavoidable disadvantages, which can not meet the needs of the today's fault tolerance. Therefore, according to the file access frequency and size, an adaptive hybrid redundant fault tolerance strategy is proposed, which can dynamically change between the replication scheme and erasure codes scheme throughout the lifecycle. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can not only save the storage space(reduced by 32% compared with replication), but also ensure the fast recovery of the node failures(increased by 42% compared with erasure codes).
The ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm is a classical metaheuristic optimization algorithm. However, the conventional ACO was liable to trap in the local minimum and has an inherent slow rate of convergence. In this work, we propose a novel combinatorial ACO algorithm (CG-ACO) to alleviate these limitations. The genetic algorithm and the cloud model were embedded into the ACO to find better initial solutions and the optimal parameters. In the experiment section, we compared CG-ACO with the state-of-the-art methods and discussed the parameter stability of CG-ACO. The experiment results showed that the CG-ACO achieved better performance than ACOR, simple genetic algorithm (SGA), CQPSO and CAFSA and was more likely to reach the global optimal solution.
This study investigated the initial mass function (IMF) and star formation history of high-mass stars in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) using a population synthesis technique. We used the photometric survey catalog of Lee (2013) as the observable quantities and compare them with those of synthetic populations based on Bayesian inference. For the IMF slope (${\Gamma}$) range of -1.1 to -3.5 with steps of 0.1, five types of star formation models were tested: 1) continuous; 2) single burst at 10 Myr; 3) single burst at 60 Myr; 4) double bursts at those epochs; and 5) a complex hybrid model. In this study, a total of 125 models were tested. Based on the model calculations, it was found that the continuous model could simulate the high-mass stars of the SMC and that its IMF slope was -1.6 which is slightly steeper than Salpeter's IMF, i.e., ${\Gamma}=-1.35$.
The unprecedented power of cloud computing (CC) that enables free sharing of confidential data records for further analysis and mining has prompted various security threats. Thus, supreme cyberspace security and mitigation against adversaries attack during data mining became inevitable. So, privacy preserving data mining is emerged as a precise and efficient solution, where various algorithms are developed to anonymize the data to be mined. Despite the wide use of generalized K-anonymizing approach its protection and truthfulness potency remains limited to tiny output space with unacceptable utility loss. By combining L-diversity and (${\alpha}$,k)-anonymity, we proposed a hybrid K-anonymity data relocation algorithm to surmount such limitation. The data relocation being a tradeoff between trustfulness and utility acted as a control input parameter. The performance of each K-anonymity's iteration is measured for data relocation. Data rows are changed into small groups of indistinguishable tuples to create anonymizations of finer granularity with assured privacy standard. Experimental results demonstrated considerable utility enhancement for relatively small number of group relocations.

With the onset of the big data age, data is growing exponentially, and the issue of how to optimize large-scale data processing is especially significant. Large-scale global optimization (LSGO) is a research topic with great interest in academia and industry. Spark is a popular cloud computing framework that can cluster large-scale data, and it can effectively support the functions of iterative calculation through resilient distributed datasets (RDD). In this paper, we propose a hybrid mechanism of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and differential evolution (DE) algorithms based on Spark (SparkPSODE). The SparkPSODE algorithm is a parallel algorithm, in which the RDD and island models are employed. The island model is used to divide the global population into several subpopulations, which are applied to reduce the computational time by corresponding to RDD's partitions. To preserve population diversity and avoid premature convergence, the evolutionary strategy of DE is integrated into SparkPSODE. Finally, SparkPSODE is conducted on a set of benchmark problems on LSGO and show that, in comparison with several algorithms, the proposed SparkPSODE algorithm obtains better optimization performance through experimental results.

With the development and wide application of hybrid network computing modes like cloud computing, edge computing and fog computing, the customer service requests and the collaborative optimization of various computing resources face huge challenges. Considering the characteristics of network environment resources, the optimized deployment of service resources is a feasible solution. So, in this paper, the optimal goals for deploying service resources are customer experience and service cost. The focus is on the system impact of deploying services on load, fault tolerance, service cost, and quality of service (QoS). Therefore, the alternate node filtering algorithm (ANF) and the adjustment factor of cost matrix are proposed in this paper to enhance the system service performance without changing the minimum total service cost, and corresponding theoretical proof has been provided. In addition, for improving the fault tolerance of system, the alternate node preference factor and algorithm (ANP) are presented, which can effectively reduce the probability of data copy loss, based on which an improved cost-efficient replica deployment strategy named ICERD is given. Finally, by simulating the random occurrence of cloud node failures in the experiments and comparing the ICERD strategy with representative strategies, it has been validated that the ICERD strategy proposed in this paper not only effectively reduces customer access latency, meets customers' QoS requests, and improves system service quality, but also maintains the load balancing of the entire system, reduces service cost, enhances system fault tolerance, which further confirm the effectiveness and reliability of the ICERD strategy.

Cloud/fog water was collected at Daegwallyeong, a typical clean environmental area, by using an active fog sampler during the foggy period in 2002, The pH ranged from 3,7 to 6,5 with a mean of 5,0, but the pH calculated from average concentrations of $H^+$ was 4.4. $SO_4^{2-},\;NO_3^-\;and\;NH_4^+$ were predominant ions with average concentrations of 473,3, 463,3 and $576,0\;{\mu}eq/L$, respectively, This showed that cloud/fog water was slightly acidified, but the concentrations of major pollutants were as high as those for polluted area, suggesting effect from long range transported pollutants, Samples were categorized into four groups (E, W, S, N) by applying 48-h back trajectory analysis using the Hybrid Single-Particle Largrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model. Concentrations of seasalt $(Na^+\;and\;Cl^-)$ were the highest for group E, indicating large input of seasalts by air masses transported from the East Sea. The concentrations of $SO_4^{2-}$ were slightly higher in group W but the difference was not significant. However, the concentrations of $NO_3^-$ were significantly higher in group W than those in other three groups, The median values of cloud/fog water pH for group N and W were below 4,5, which is significantly lower than median values in group E and group S, This suggests that the acidifying pollutants were transported from the Asia continents and Seoul metropolitan area cause acidification of the cloud/fog water in Daegwallyeong.

This paper builds a real-time home security system based on the OneNet cloud platform to control the status of the house through a smartphone. The system consists of a local part and a cloud part. The local part has I/O devices, router and Raspberry Pi (RPi) that collects and monitors sensor data and sends the data to the cloud, and the Flask web server is implemented on a Rasberry Pi. When a user is at home, the user can access the Flask web server to obtain the data directly. The cloud part is OneNet in China Mobile, which provides remote access service. The hybrid App is designed to provide the interaction between users and the home security system in the smartphone, and the EDP and RTSP protocol is implemented to transmit data and video stream. Experimental results show that users can receive sensor data and warning text message through the smartphone and monitor, and control home status through OneNet cloud.

Host's data during transmission. Data tempering results in loss of host's sensitive information, which includes number of VM, storage availability, and other information. In the distributed cloud environment, each server (computing server (CS)) configured with Local Resource Monitors (LRMs) which runs independently and performs Virtual Machine (VM) migrations to nearby servers. Approaches like predictive VM migration [21] [22] by each server considering nearby server's CPU usage, roatative decision making capacity [21] among the servers in distributed cloud environment has been proposed. This approaches usage underlying server's computing power for predicting own server's future resource utilization and nearby server's resource usage computation. It results in running VM and its running application to remain in waiting state for computing power. In order to reduce this, a decentralized decision making hybrid model for VM migration need to be proposed where servers in decentralized cloud receives, future resource usage by analytical computing system and takes decision for migrating VM to its neighbor servers. Host's in the decentralized cloud shares, their detail with peer servers after fixed interval, this results in chance to tempering messages that would be exchanged in between HC and CH. At the same time, it reduces chance of over utilization of peer servers, caused due to compromised host. This paper discusses, an roatative decisive (RD) approach for VM migration among peer computing servers (CS) in decentralized cloud environment, preserving confidentiality and integrity of the host's data. Experimental result shows that, the proposed predictive VM migration approach reduces extra VM migration caused due over utilization of identified servers and reduces number of active servers in greater extent, and ensures confidentiality and integrity of peer host's data.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a surface-guided radiosurgery system customized for a neurosurgery clinic that could be used as an auxiliary system for improving the accuracy, monitoring the movements of patients while performing hypofractionated radiosurgery, and minimizing the geometric misses. Methods: RGB-D cameras were installed in the treatment room and a monitoring system was constructed to perform a three-dimensional (3D) scan of the body surface of the patient and to express it as a point cloud. This could be used to confirm the exact position of the body of the patient and monitor their movements during radiosurgery. The image from the system was matched with the computed tomography (CT) image, and the positional accuracy was compared and analyzed in relation to the existing system to evaluate the accuracy of the setup. Results: The user interface was configured to register the patient and display the setup image to position the setup location by matching the 3D points on the body of the patient with the CT image. The error rate for the position difference was within 1-mm distance (min, -0.21 mm; max, 0.63 mm). Compared with the existing system, the differences were found to be as follows: x=0.08 mm, y=0.13 mm, and z=0.26 mm. Conclusions: We developed a surface-guided repositioning and monitoring system that can be customized and applied in a radiation surgery environment with an existing linear accelerator. It was confirmed that this system could be easily applied for accurate patient repositioning and inter-treatment motion monitoring.
