Position Control algorithm for clutch drive system of PHEV(Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) (PHEV(Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle)의 클러치 구동 시스템을 위한 BLDC 모터의 위치제어 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차가 전기모터로 주행하다가 배터리가 방전되면 엔진으로 구동할 수 있도록 연결해 주는 클러치 시스템에 적용된 BLDC 모터의 위치제어기를 제안한다. 클러치 시스템에 사용되는 BLDC 모터의 구동은 Hall 센서로부터 검출된 회전자 위치정보를 이용하여 위치제어를 수행하였다. PHEV 시스템에서는 클러치를 엔진과 전기모터로 연결해야 하므로 정확하고 빠른 위치제어를 위해 위치제어기를 적용하였고, 클러치 연결 시 진동을 최소화하기 위해 속도제어기를 사용하여 엔진의 속도와 클러치 모터의 속도를 동기가 되도록 하였다. 또한 위치제어를 하기 전에 클러치의 초기위치를 맞춰 줘야 하므로 모터의 위치정보를 이용하여 속도제어기와 전류제어기로 모터를 일정한 위치로 이동시켰다. BLDC 모터의 전압제어를 위한 PWM 방법은 기존의 바이폴라 PWM 보다 전류리플이 적은 유니폴라 효과를 내는 새로운 바이폴라 PWM 방법을 사용하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • This paper is proposed a high performance speed control of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor through the FNN(Fuzzy Neural-Network) based SV-PWM(Space Vector PWM). SV-PWM is controlled using FNN control. SV-PWM can be maximum used maximum dc link voltage and is excellent control method due to characteristic to reducing harmonic more than others. The hybrid combination of fuzzy control and neural network will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Simulation results are presented to show the validity of the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper presents two advanced hybrid pulse-width modulation (PWM) strategies for multilevel inverters (MLIs) that provide both common-mode voltage (CMV) elimination and current ripple reduction. The first PWM utilizes sequences that apply one switching state at the double ends of a half-carrier cycle. The second PWM combines the advantages of the former and an existing four-state PWM. Analyses of the harmonic characteristics of the two groups of switching sequences based on a general switching voltage model are carried out, and algorithms to optimize the current ripple are proposed. These methods are simple and can be implemented online for general n-level inverters. Using a three-level NPC inverter and a five-level CHB inverter, good performances in terms of the root mean square current ripple are obtained with the proposed PWM schemes as indicated through improved harmonic distortion factors when compared to existing schemes in almost the entire region of the modulation index. This also leads to a significant reduction in the current total harmonic distortion. Simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed PWM methods.

  • In this paper, we address the problem of designing and implementing an oil pump control system driven by a brushless DC (BLDC) motor. The proposed oil pump plays the role of providing fuel to the engine clutch and transmission of hybrid vehicles. Main consideration is given to enhancing response feature and accuracy of the oil pump by simplifying the controller that is driven by a BLDC motor under PWM voltage control, which is a standard control method for BLDC motors. The proposed control scheme also helps to increase efficiency and reliability of the oil pump system. To validate the performance of the proposed system, we conduct experiments on BLDC motor speed control and oil pump operations.

  • This paper presents a novel hybrid multilevel inverter using DC-Link voltage combination in order to improve the waveshape of output voltage and reduce harmonics. The proposed multilevel inverter can generate an 11-level output voltage. It employs three H-bridge cell, which consists of single phase full-bridge inverter module. Among them, two modules are used for level generation, and one module performs PWM switching. Nine levels are synthesised by the level inverter, and two levels are added to output by the PWM inverter. As a result, it generates an 11-level. The operational principles are explained in depth, and the validity of the proposed system is verified through the PSpice simulation and experimental results based on a prototype.

  • This paper treats the optimization of rotor construction in the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) for electric vehicle (EV). While the field system of PMSM has generally one magnet per pole, we replace the magnet into plural sub-magnets. The dimensions of each sub-magnet are determined by the concept of pulse width modulation (PWM). By adopting the proposed rotor construction, we can not only reduce the space harmonics of the air-gap field but also provide space for rotor bars (i.e., damper windings) around the direct-axis. From the investigation by hybrid EE-BE (coupled finite element and boundary element) method coupled with both electric circuit and motion equation, we verify that the construction is effective for practical use.

Study of a LED Driver for Extension of Color Gamut (색 영역의 확장을 위한 LED 구동회로에 대한 연구)

  • This paper proposes a hybrid LED driving circuit and its control method for extension of the color gamut of LED. The proposed hybrid LED driving circuit provides the constant current by switching regulation in the high current and by linear regulation in the low current through LED. Furthermore, the magnitudes of the high current and low current were controlled by CC(Continuous Current) control method and PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control method, respectively. We experimentally confirmed that the current through RGB LED is linearly controlled to 2% maximum current ratio by varying PWM in the proposed driving circuit and control method. As a result of the measurement of the output light color in CIE1976 chromaticity coordinates, we confirmed that the color, which not be expressed by the existing method, uniformly expressed. We confirmed that the color, which can not be expressed by the existing method, was uniformly output and verified that the color gamut was expanded by the low current controlled by the proposed driving circuit and control method.

  • 본 연구에서는 시프트 레지스터와 고정 주파수의 삼각파를 사용하고 있는 종전의 Random PWM기법의 스펙트럼 특성을 개선시키기 위한 방법을 제시하고 있다. 제안된 방법은 시프트 레지스터의 lead-lag 랜덤비트를 사용한다는 점에서 종전의 방법과 동일하나, 이와 논리적 비교를 하기 위한 랜덤 주파수의 삼각파를 이용한다는 점에서 종전의 방법과 다르다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 랜덤 펄스 위치 PWM의 특징과 랜덤 스위칭 PWM의 특징을 모두 갖고 있다. 본 연구의 타당성을 확인하기 위하여 인버터 기반의 3상 유도모터 구동시스템에 제안된 방법을 적용하였다. 그 결과 종전의 방법에 비하여 인버터 구동 유도모터의 전압 및 전류의 고조파 스펙트럼의 광대역화에 탁월한 효과가 있음을 입증할 수 있었다.
