Layer Assignment of Functional Chip Blocks for 3-D Hybrid IC Planning (3차원 Hybrid IC 배치를 위한 기둥첩 블록의 층할당)

  • Traditional circuit partitioning algorithm using the cluster development method, which is suitable for such applications as single chip floor planning or multiple layer PCB system placement, where the clusters are formed so that inter-cluster nets are localized within the I/O connector pins, may not be appropriate for the functiona block placement in truly 3-D electronic modules. 3-D hybrid IC is one such example where the inter-layer routing as well as the intra-layer routing can be maximally incorporated to reduce the overall circuit size, cooling requirements and to improve the speed performance. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm called MBE(Minimum Box Embedding) for the layer assignment of each functional block in 3-D hybrid IC design. The sequence of MBE is as follows` i) force-directed relaxation in 3-D space, ii) exhaustive search for the optimal orientation of the slicing plane and iii) layer assignment. The algorithm is first explaines for a 2-D reduced problem, and then extended for 3-D applications. An example result for a circuit consisting of 80 blocks has been shown.

  • A lot of electronic parts are used for recent vehicles. If electronic parts break down, it will bring passenger to fatal wound. The very representative trouble of electronic parts is a cut aluminium wire of a hybrid IC. In this study, I analyzed a cause of cut aluminium wire and the main results obtained on this study are summarized as follows; (1) The forces acting on the aluminium wire are because of thermal expansion of a resin. (2) The forces acting on the aluminium wire are obtained by the theoretical analysis and those results are agree well with those of the FEM.

  • In this paper we proposed the user identification system using hybrid biometric information and non-contact IC card to improve the accuracy of the system. The hybrid biometric information consists of the face image, the iris image, and the 4-digit voice password of user. And the non-contact IC card provides the base information of user If the distance between the sample hybrid biometric Information corresponding to the base information of user and the measured biometric information is less than the given threshold value, the identification is accepted. Otherwise it is rejected. Through the result of experimentation, this paper shows that the proposed method has better identification rate than the conventional identification method.

Development of Cholinesterase Inhibitors using 1-Benzyl Piperidin-4-yl (α)-Lipoic Amide Molecules

  • A series of hybrid molecules between (${\alpha}$)-lipoic acid (ALA) and 4-amino-1-benzyl piperidines were synthesized and their in vitro cholinesterase (acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE)) inhibitory activities were evaluated. Even though the parent compounds did not exhibit any inhibitory activity against cholinesterase (ChE) with the exception of compound 14 ($IC_{50}=255.26{\pm}4.41$ against BuChE), all hybrid molecules demonstrated BuChE inhibitory activity. Some hybrid compounds also displayed AChE inhibitory activity. Specifically, compound 17 was shown to be an effective inhibitor against both AChE ($IC_{50}=1.75{\pm}0.30{\mu}M$) and BuChE ($IC_{50}=5.61{\pm}1.25{\mu}M$) comparable to galantamine ($IC_{50}=1.7{\pm}0.9{\mu}M$ against AChE and $IC_{50}=9.4{\pm}2.5{\mu}M$ against BuChE). Inhibition kinetic studies using compound 17 indicated a mixed inhibition type for AChE and a noncompetitive inhibition type for BuChE. Its binding affinity ($K_i$) values to AChE and BuChE were $3.8{\pm}0.005{\mu}M$ and $7.0{\pm}0.04{\mu}M$, respectively.

  • Three F$_1$ hybrids, Seokwang/Milyang 54, HR1619-6-2-1-2-2/Milyang 54 and 55061/IR19735-5-2-3-2-1, and their parents were inoculated with each of four individual blast races, IC-l3, IH-l, IA-61 and IB-47, and the mixtures of two races, IC-13 and IH-l, IC-13 and IA-61, and IC-13 and IB-47, respectively. The varietal reactions to the tested races showed that two parental varieties of each cross, Seokwang and Milyang 54, HR1619-6-2-1-2-2 and Milyang 54, and 55061 and IR19735-5-2-3-2-1 have different resistance gene(s) respectively. The F 1 hybrids between two cultivars having different resistant genes were resistant to the mixture of two races of which one race was virulent to one parent and avirulent to the other parent respectively, while the parents of these F$_1$s were susceptible. This may suggest that the F$_1$ hybrids have wider spectrum resistance to leaf blast than their parents.

  • This paper describes the effect of loading rate, specimen geometries and material properties for Mode I interlaminar fracture toughness of hybrid composite by using double cantilever beam (DCB) specimen. In the range of loading rate 0.2-20mm/min, there is found to be no significant effect of loading rate with the value of critical energy release rate (G_IC). The value of $G_IC$ for variation of initial crack length are nearly similar values when material properties are CF/CF and GF/GF, however, the value of $G_IC/$ are highest with the increasing initial crack length at CF/GF. The SEM photographs show good fiber distribution and interfacial bonding of hybrid composites when the moulding is the CF/GF

  • This paper presents the hybrid stepping machine for linear oscillating generators. The focus of the work is the suggestion of the improved model through the comparison of proposed models ; new flux concentrating PMs mover of the hybrid stepping generator is proposed based on the symmetrical and non-symmetrical stator cores of the surface mounted PMs mover, and non-slanted PMs and slanted PMs of the flux concentrating PMs mover. It is achieved using equivalent magnetic circuit considering leakage elements. Finally, this study suggests new hybrid stepping structure of linear oscillating generator.

An inhibition kinetic study using compound 15 indicated a mixed inhibition type. Its binding affinity ($K_i$) value to BuChE is $2.91{\pm}0.15{\mu}M$.
