둘째 출산 계획의 결정요인과 가족내 성 형평성 (A Study on the Relationship of Gender Equity within Family and Second Birth)

  • 이 글은 한국사회 가족내 성 형평성과 둘째 출산과의 관계를 경험적으로 분석함으로써 한국 사회 초저출산 현상에 대한 이해를 심화시키고 정책적 이론적 함의를 도출하고자 하는 데 연구목적이 있다. 이 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 2005년 한국보건사회연구원의 "전국 결혼 및 출산동향조사" 자료를 분석하여 조사 당시 한 자녀를 둔 20-34세 기혼 여성의 둘째 출산 계획에 대한 로짓분석을 실시하였다. 조사대상 516명 가운데 둘째 출산을 할 의향이 있는 여성들은 54.7%, 282명이었다. 분석결과 여성들의 둘째 출산 계획에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수는 '자녀 터울 조절'과 '원하는 자녀 구성' 등 가족주기상의 가족계획으로 나타났다. 총가구원수가 많을수록 (90% 유의도 수준), 첫째 자녀의 성이 여아일수록 둘째 출산에 긍정적인 태도를 보였다. 여성들의 둘째 출산 계획에, 가족내 부부의 '성 형평성 요인'은 기혼 취업 여성에게서만 의미 있는 요인으로 확인되었다. 기혼 취업 여성의 경우 남편의 가사노동시간이 증가할수록 둘째 출산에 더욱 적극적이었다. 그러나 전업주부의 경우 남편의 가사노동시간이나 가사분담률과 같은 부부간성 형평성 정도는 그들의 둘째 출산 계획에 아무런 영향도 미치지 않았다. 전업주부의 경우 둘째 출산 시기를 앞당김으로써 자녀양육기간을 단축하고 이후 재취업을 꾀하는 것으로 파악되었다. 결국 가족내 성 형평성 여부가 둘째 출산 계획에 직접 영향을 미치는 기혼취업여성이나 영향을 미치지 않는 전업주부여성 모두 일과 가족생활의 양립이 어려운 상황에서 개별적인 생애전략을 취하고 있으며 일 가족생활 양립을 위한 가족내 성 형평성 증대와 사회적 지원이 요구된다고 하겠다.

  • 본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 취업기혼여성을 대상으로 사회 인구학적 변인, 가족변인, 사회지원체제 변인이 취업기혼여성의 심리적 복지에 영향을 주는 관련변수들을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울시에 거주하는 취업기혼여성 332명으로 설문조사를 통해 이루어졌다. 조사내용은 일반적인 사항과 독립변인으로 가족관련 변인, 보육관련 변인, 직장관련 변인, 사회지원체제 변인을 측정하였고 종속변인으로는 심리적 복지(well-being)를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 취업모의 심리적 복지수준은 36.14점(중간값 32점)으로 나타나 대체로 생활에 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 개인배경변인 중 취업기혼여성의 학력, 배우자 지원, 가계총소득 등이 심리적복지에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 취업기혼여성의 심리적복지에는 직업만족도, 보육서비스만족도, 사회지원체제, 배우자의 가사노동 변인 순으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 취업기혼여성의 심리적 복지에 가장 영향력을 미치는 변인은 직업만족도로 나타났다.

아내구타 예방 및 대처 교육프로그램 개발 (Development of Prevention and Educational Programs for Battered Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop prevention and educational programs for battered women. The first stage was to assess battered women's health status and health needs. The second stage was to develop prevention and educational programs to improve battered women's health. A survey research design was used to gather data from June-November 1999 by the counselor. Research sample was recruited from shelter and women's counseling centers in Seoul, Inchon, Chooncheon, Taejeon, and Jeoju. Trained counselors contacted 218 women, who agreed verbally to participate in the study. The researcher did a literature review and developed the tool used. We did ten pretests and three counselors checked the tool for content validity. The reliability and validity of the instrument were acceptable. The second stage of the research consisted of lay-professional groups discussing the abuse problems and possible solutions. Each group had five professionals (counsellor, nurse, minister, psychiatrist, social worker) and five women who have experienced battering from her husband in community. Result of the survey and two(lay persons and professionals) group discussions showed that victims need more assessment of physical, mental and spiritual needs. Victims were beaten more often during their pregnancies than at other times. Various kind of strategy were frequently utilized, but still the number of women abused and suicides committed increased. Both studies showed that the women experienced severe beating, that they felt powerless, that they need to understand that society abuser characteristics, that they lack a protection support system and that society lacks would an understanding of battered women. Based on the result of both studies, we developed model for prevention and education of battered women. This educational program will increase women s power to solve the abuse problems. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop a one-stop center to give wholistic approach care to women in abuse situations.

결혼이민자 여성의 취업에 영향을 미치는 생태체계적 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eco-systemic Factors that Effect the Married Immigrant Women's Employment)

  • 본 연구는 생태체계적 관점에 근거하여 결혼이민자 여성들의 취업에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인들을 파악하여 결혼이민자 여성들의 취업을 위한 개입시 도움이 될 수 있는 실증적인 자료를 얻고자 하는 목적으로 이루어 졌다. 본 연구의 조사대상자는 울산광역시 지역에 거주하는 229명의 결혼이민자 여성들이며, 조사대상자들의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위해서는 빈도 및 백분율을 그리고 취업여부에 미치는 생태체계적 요인을 알아보기 위해서는 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 결혼이민자여성들의 취업 여부에는 인구사회학적 요인 가운데서는 남편의 학력과 국적취득여부가 그리고 개인체계요인 가운데서는 한국어실력과 직업훈련 경험유무가 통계적으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 가족체계요인 가운데서는 시부모의 지지가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 근거하여 결혼 이민자 여성들의 취업을 원조하기 위한 실천적 함의를 논의하였다.

미취학 자녀를 둔 취업모의 경제활동 중단 의향 (Intentions of Employed Mothers with Young Children to Leave the Labor Force)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the contexts in which employed mothers with young children consider leaving the labor force. We used a mixed methods design, which integrates the findings of quantitative and qualitative analyses, to better understand the dynamics underlying employed mothers' intentions to leave the labor force. The participants of both quantitative (N = 324) and qualitative (N = 16) data were married mothers who were employed full-time and had at least one child younger than elementary-school age at the time of data collection. Both the quantitative analysis of logistic regression and the qualitative thematic analysis revealed that the child's age, the husband's income, the utilization of child care by relatives, the mother's job involvement, family-to-work role conflict, and other costs and rewards of participation in the work force were the important contexts where employed mothers considered leaving the labor force. The quantitative analysis uniquely found that being employed at a workplace with flexible work hours were associated with lower odds of considering exit from the labor market. The qualitative analysis highlighted that the decision to leave the labor force or to stay in it is a complicated issue that almost all employed mothers potentially face at some point in their careers. These findings suggest that policy support is warranted to help employed mothers with young children remain in the workforce when they wish to.

다문화가족의 부부갈등과 갈등대처전략 (The Marital Conflicts and Coping Strategies in the Multicultural Families)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out marital conflicts and coping strategies among married female immigrants and Korean men in multicultural families. The data were collected by in.depth interviews with 12 female immigrants and 5 Korean men. The major findings of this study are as follows: Female participants suffered from marital conflicts with their spouses, conflicts with mothers.in.law, stereotyped gender roles as a wife and a daughter.in.law, economic conflicts, and cultural differences between Korea and their country. In addition, male participants reported conflicts from economic support for their wife's family, gender role differences, and cultural differences. Coping strategies used to deal with the conflicts, such as mutual dedication and understanding their spouse's stance, and developing a compromise for the family's happiness were mentioned. A personal positive nature and attitude helped them to meet the marital conflicts. Supports from their husband, parents.in.law, and society also helped female immigrants to adapt to cultural differences. However, some of them used negative coping strategies which did not reduce conflicts, and resulted in separation and divorce. The coping strategies to deal with the conflicts depended on the participants' personal ability. While female participants who had English language skills took advantage to adapt to Korean society, those who did not have any other natural abilities could develop a definite position in their family and society with their diligence and positive attitude. The results showed that female participants who were supported by their family and society tended to cope successfully with conflicts and also showed that multicultural families' marital adjustment was maintained with their efforts as well as by relationships with their relatives and society.

칠정(七情) 자극 후 발생한 해역(咳逆).희기(噫氣) 환자 치혐 1례 (A Clinical Report about Hiccup and Eructation from Emotional Stress)

  • 이상의 증례는 해역(咳逆)과 희기(噫氣)가 복합된 난치성 증상이 칠정(七情) 자극에 의하여 유발될 수 있음을 보여주었으며, 치료에 있어서도 약물(藥物)과 침구치료(針灸治療) 뿐만이 아니라 이정변기요법(移情變氣療法), 지언고론요법(至言高論療法), 경자평지료법(驚者平之療法), 가족치료(家族治療) 등 다양한 정신요법 들이 시도되어야만 호전될 수 있음을 보여주었다. 이러한 증례에 있어서 기질적(器質的) 병리변화(病理變化)와 정신적(精神的) 요소(要所)가 어떠한 정도로 관여하는지에 대하여는 향후의 자세한 연구가 필요하리라 사료된다.

결혼이주여성의 정서적 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구 (Phenomenological Study on the Emotional Experience of Married Migrant Women)

  • 본 연구에서는 결혼이주여성이 경험하는 정서경험에 대해 심층적으로 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국어를 할 수 있는 결혼이주여성 3인을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과, '시부모의 따뜻한 관심으로 안정된 삶을 삼', '남편의 지지로 인해 가정에 충실함', '정서적으로 위로를 받아 보다 안정된 삶을 살게 됨', '하나님의 도우심을 경험함으로 기쁨', '정서적으로 회복되어 남편과 주변 사람들에게 잘함', '정서적 불안으로 인해 가정일이 손에 잡히지 않음', '힘들어 자신과 남편을 원망하고 갈등이 일어남', '분노가 일고 결혼한 것을 후회함'의 8개의 범주가 도출되었다. 결혼이주여성의 정서경험에 대한 연구결과를 통해 결혼이주여성들이 정서적으로 잘 적응하며 살 수 있도록 토대를 마련하였다고 볼 수 있다.

베트남 결혼이주여성과 한국여성의 산후우울 비교 (A Comparative Study on the Postpartum Depression of Vietnamese Marriage Immigrant Women and Korean Women)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine postpartum depression of Vietnamese married immigrant women and Korean women, and to identify factors that affect postpartum depression. Methods: Subjects of one hundred and thirty-five women who had delivered a baby within 3 years were part of the study. Of these women, sixty were Vietnamese married immigrant women and sixty seven were Korean women living in Gangwon Province. Kim's (2005) Korean version of Cox's (1987) EPDS (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) was used to evaluate postpartum depression. The reliability of the entire subjects was Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.677, Vietnamese women .743, and Korean women .654. Results: There were significant differences between the two groups in demographic data and obstetric history. There were significant differences in EPDS (t=-0.236, p=.814) of the type of household between the two groups. Korean women experienced more depression in the items of EPDS 1,2,5, and Vietnamese women experienced more depression in the items of EPDS 7, 8, and 10 when comparing item by item. The influencing factors of EPDS in entire subjects were marriage type, satisfaction of relationship with the husband and other household extended family members, and emotional experience during pregnancy. Conclusion: Postpartum depression has occurred regardless of ethnicity, therefore prevention programs targeted at depression, and family support programs should be developed for all childbearing women.

선택과목 '의료와 여성(Women in Medicine)'에 대한 학생반응 분석 (An analysis on the students' responses of the elective course, "Women in Medicine")

  • Even though 35% of Korean medical students are female, medical schools and hospitals maintain a strongly male-dominated culture which discourages female students from active career development. In 2006, Yonsei Medical school instigated an elective course entitled "Women in Medicine" to encourage and stimulate 51 female students who enrolled the course. Researchers conducted participant observations at all 6 lectures, as well as 2 surveys and 4 student fucus group discussions comprising a total of 18 students. The total satis faction r ate of the course was high at 4.6 points out of a 5-point score Nevertheless, the study results confirmed three conflict points between lectures and students. Firstly, the lecturers emphasized the excellence and carrier-goal oriented life style, whereas most students are more interested in an ordinary women doctor's life. Secondly, the lecturers emphasized the importance of husband and family's support for success in their career but most female students have little confidence in their ability to achieve a balance between work and family. Thirdly, the lecturers emphasized the women doctor who is able to lead a team effectively, but women students have few opportunities to play a leadership role in their school life. These study findings imply that there is a generation gap in the concept of "successful women doctor's life" between lecturers and students. and that interactive dialogue between lecturer and students is more important than lecture style presentations from extremely successful female doctors. In addition to such lectures, a leadership program based on active student participation should be developed.
