A Study on the Human Sensibility Evaluation Technique Using EEGs of 4 Emotions (4가지 감정의 뇌파를 이용한 감성평가 기술에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a technique for human sensibility evaluation using EEGs of 4 emotions. The proposed method uses the linear predictor coefficients as EEG feature parameters and a neural network as sensibility pattern classifier. For subject independent system, multiple templates are stored and the most similar template can be selected. EEG signals corresponding to 4 emotions such as relaxation, joy, sadness and anger are collected from 5 armature performers. The states of relaxation and joy are considered as positive sensibility and those of sadness and anger as negative. The classification performance suing the proposed method is about 72.6%. This may be promising performance in the human sensibility evaluation.

  • This research was the first step to develop Expert System for Evaluation of Human Sensibility, where human sensibility can be inferred from objective physiological signals. The study aim was to develop an algorithm in which human arousal level can be judged using measured physiological signals. Fuzzy theory was applied for mathematical handling of the ambiguity related to evaluation of human sensibility, and the degree of belonging to a certain sensibility dimension was quantified by membership function through which the sensibility evaluation was able to be done. Determining membership function was achieved using results from a physiological signal database of arousal/relaxation that was generated from imagination. To induce one final result (arousal level) based on measuring the results of more than 2 physiological signals and the membership function of each physiological signal, Dempster-Shafer's Rule of Combination in Evidence was applied, through which the final arousal level was inferred.

  • To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. This paper deals with an intelligent agent approach to incorporate customer's sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in on-line shopping mall. In this paper the focus of interest is on-line recommendation service algorithm for development of Human Sensibility based web agent system. The recommendation agent system composed of seven services including specialized algorithm. The on-line recommendation service algorithm use human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system's behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e.g., identifying the customer's emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). Most of the present shopping malls go through the catalog of goods, but the future shopping malls will have the form of intelligent shopping malls by applying the on-line recommendation service algorithm.

  • When we design a product, we need to consider human sensibility for the product. In this study, we developed a technique to measure human sensibility for a product. Because human sensibility for a product is very subjective and fuzzy, it is hard to measure easily. To deal with this difficulty effectively, we used fuzzy-weighted checklist to this problem. The fuzzy- weighted checklist presents a fuzzy version of the weighted checklist technique computerized for evaluating or comparing complex system (or subjects). In this technique, we used pairwise comparison to get the relative weights of wensibility factors. Also, we used linguistic ratings to get the scores of sensibility factors for a product. Then, we synthesize the scores of sensi- bility factors to get fuzzy composite score (and linguistic approximation). If there are several alternatives, we can conduct alternative comparison. Finally, we wrote the program of this technique by Quick Basic software. As an example, this technique applied to car. The results show that we can use this technique effectively to the quantitative evaluation of human sensibility

  • In recent years, with the advent of e-Commerce the need for personalized services and one-to-one marketing has been emphasized. To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. In this paper, we provide an intelligent agent approach to incorporate human sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in cyber shopping mall. Our system exploits human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system`s behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e. g., identifying the customer`s emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). The recommendation agent system composed of five modules including specialized agents carries on these tasks. By presenting goods that are consistent with user interests as well as user sensibility, the accuracy and satisfaction of the recommendation service may be improved.

  • User's sensibility has an important effect upon appreciating household electronic appliances and user's feeling of satisfaction with products has a good effect on the choice of product on purchasing those items. In this point of view, the human-oriented approach of product development system can be adopted as Human Sensibility Engineering. The target of changed development system is to define user's sensibility factors and to apply them to design and development. In this study, the human sensibility ergonomics approach and usability test have been applied to the development and evaluation of an electronic product model.

  • This paper describes a method of human sensibility evaluation for pleasant and unpleasant environments. Conditions of the environment are room temperature and humidity. Changing the conditions, 10-channel EEG signals for 4 subjects are collected. Linear predictor coefficients of the recorded EEGs are extracted as the feature parameter of human sensibility. A neural network-based human sensibility estimation algorithm is developed. The developed algorithm showed good performance in the pleasantness evaluation. The neural network output produced accurate states of pleasantness sensibility. Subject-independent test showed similar results with subject-dependent test.

  • This study describes the research contents, strategies, and applications of simulator for measuring and evaluating human sensibility. The simulator is the integrated experiment facility which can change the physical environment artificially to measure and grasp the reaction feature of human sensibility for the products and environments. The design technique consists of two parts; development of technique to present the mock environment related to sensibility elements and development of software to measure and evaluate sensibility physiologically and psychologically. The simulator can be utilized for evaluating the main industrial products and environments. Therefore, the simulator can increase the added-value of the product and environment, and also contribute to the improvement of quality of human life.

  • The relationship between the product design and product image can be defined using human sensibility. If there is a way to grasp the product value or product design that people want most, it could be possible to make and sell user-oriented products. In human sensibility ergonomics, the categories of design factor can be broken into shape and color of the design. Although, the color is the major factor of the design, however, texture were is also an important factor for the shape. In this study, wall-papers that have various shapes of texture were used for the experiment. The purpose of this study was to conduct a sensibility estimation experiment for the product image, and to estimate the parameters of various textures for creating new textures that could be more suitable for human sensibility.
