The eyes can register color oscillations and that colors have an effect on the psyche. Human is constantly surrounded by an immense range of vibrations to which he must react and respound. And the skin can be compared to an antenna which amplifies information received from the outside and then passes it on to the inside. Therefore the art of many medicines make use of the skin as a medium of treatment. Peter mandel discovered centers, or zones, on the human body, which represent or correspond to the three primary colors(red, blue and yellow). And he came across to the four temperaments(or humors) and their respective colors, which consist of the primary colors with the addition of green.

In order to achieve the most suitable designing of shoemaking, the structure of shoemaking is described in this study by inquiring into structural and functional effects given by shoes to human feet. Also, the role of insole that is an essential portion in view of function in shoemaking is described and. for the improvement of quality the fact that selection of material of insole has an effect to quality is substantiated through experiments of adhesive tensile and absorption percentage. Though identification of the qualify of insole with the naked eyes is impossible because it is inserted between the internal layers of a shoe. It is not only an essential portion for the improvement of the quality of shoemaking but it gives an essential effect to the sanitation and health of human body(feet) when insole of lower qualify is used. In view of these the improvement and enhancement of the quality of home-made material of insole are earnestly required.

Face robots capable of expressing their emotional status, can be adopted as an efficient tool for friendly communication between the human and the machine. In this paper, we present a face robot actuated with artificial muscle based on dielectric elastomer. By exploiting the properties of polymers, it is possible to actuate the covering skin, eyes as well as provide human-like expressivity without employing complicated mechanisms. The robot is driven by seven types of actuator modules such as eye, eyebrow, eyelid, brow, cheek, jaw and neck module corresponding to movements of facial muscles. Although they are only part of the whole set of facial motions, our approach is sufficient to generate six fundamental facial expressions such as surprise, fear, anger, disgust, sadness, and happiness. Each module communicates with the others via CAN communication protocol fur the desired emotional expressions, the facial motions are generated by combining the motions of each actuator module. A prototype of the robot has been developed and several experiments have been conducted to validate its feasibility.

Together with protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs), protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) serve as hallmarks in cellular signal transduction by controlling the reversible phosphorylation of their substrates. The human genome is estimated to encode more than 100 PTPs, which can be divided into eleven sub-groups according to their structural and functional characteristics. All the crystal structures of catalytic domains of sub-groups have been elucidated, enabling us to understand their precise catalytic mechanism and to compare their structures across all sub-groups. In this review, I describe the structure and mechanism of catalytic domains of PTPs in the structural context.

A perianal tick and the surrounding skin were surgically excised from a 73-year-old man residing in a southwestern costal area of the Korean Peninsula. Microscopically a deep penetrating lesion was formed beneath the attachment site. Dense and mixed inflammatory cell infiltrations occurred in the dermis and subcutaneous tissues around the feeding lesion. Amorphous eosinophilic cement was abundant in the center of the lesion. The tick had Y-shaped anal groove, long mouthparts, ornate scutum, comma-shaped spiracular plate, distinct eyes, and fastoons. It was morphologically identified as a fully engorged female Amblyomma testudinarium. This is the third human case of Amblyomma tick infection in Korea.

Abrupt scene changes generally incur the afterimage effect. So, the unblocked image portion is still viewed by human eyes just after it is blocked by some pattern. Yovo's secure display method utilized this phenomenon and it is systematically analyzed using computational afterimage modeling by replacing the complex afterimage effect via simple low-pass filtering. With this approach, realistic images perceived by the human eye can be computationally generated at every single moment, especially reflecting the afterimage effect. The generated images are compared with the original images to determine the factors that affect the image quality of the secure display method. The simulation results demonstrate that the ratio of the unblocked portion to the blocked portion of an image and the playback rate are two primary factors related to the recognized image quality. We also found that the two factors are still effective for generalized secure display techniques.

In this paper, we presents the remote inspection activity with a mobile robot at the calandria face areas of the PHWR (pressurized heavy water reactor) nuclear power plants during full power plant operation.. The tele-operated mobile robot has been developed for this task. A 4 wheeled mechanism with the dual reconfigurable crawler arm has been adopted for the ease access to the high radiation area of calandria face. A specially designed extendable long reach mast attached on the mobile platform and the thermal image monitoring system enable human eyes to look into the calandria face. Application of robot will keep human workers from high radiation exposure and enhance the reliability of nuclear power plants.

This paper presented an automatic system for display quality measurement by image processing. The goal is to replace human eyes for display quality evaluation by computer vision and get the objective quality review for consumer to make purchase of monitor or TV. Color, contrast, brightness, sharpness and motion blur are the main five factors to affect display quality that could be measured by supplying patterns and analyzing the corresponding images captured from webcam. The scores are calculated by image processing techniques. Linear regression model is then adopted to find the relation between human score and the measured display performance.

"Jinaik(津液)" is essential nutritious body fluid for human to be alive, and it can be divided various kinds according to it's location, character, and function. Five Fluids -sweat, snivel(mucus), slobber(saliva), tear, spittle(saliva)- are kinds of "Jinaik(津液)", and all of them belong to kidney. They are also related with five organs, such as sweat belongs to heart, snivel(mucus) belongs to lung, slobber(saliva) belongs to spleen, tear belongs to liver, spittle(saliva) belongs to kidney. We can find out five organs' physiological and pathological conditions by means of observations on the Five Fluids. Five organs' function comes out upper seven openings -two eyes two ears, nose, mouth and tongue. The Five Fluids provide all the nutrition upper seven openings need, so they can help for human to hear, see, smell, and taste properly.

The purpose of this thesis is to make clear the symbolism expressed by the gorgeous costume elements in the portraits of Elizabeth 1. After English paintings in 16th century and the Portraits of Elizabeth I being investigated in view of its characteristics, the symbolism in the costume of the portraits was studied in analysis. The flowers, the pearls and the sieve denoting a pure virgin predominantly appeared, snake for discretion and wisdom, phoenix for eternal youth and renewal, pelican for motherhood, and eyes and ears for almightiness and sound judgement as an utmost power was found. The color was mainly of black or white and sometimes of these two mixtures. The white means a purity and black, eternity and the mixture of them signifies a virtue of purity. This thesis may help people understand the gorgeous costume of Elizabeth 1. not as an external extravagance, but as an internal emblem or signs delivering its specific significance.
