  • This study performed five methods of tests and measurements to verify the improvement of connection time and bandwidth efficient of FSS (fixed satellite service) TCP/IP network by means of the cash function and the spoofing function. Tests and measurements are performed with; 1. Not to apply the cash and spoofing function 2. Apply the cash function 4. Apply both cash and spoofing function in HUB station and VSAT 5. In a typical commercial terrestrial Internet with LAN. The study results in this paper show that application of the spoofing and cash function greatly improves the bandwidth efficiency to FSS TCP/IP Internet service.

  • Fleet sizing and distribution of empty equipments are two of the most critical problems in managing transportation system. This paper develops a cost model for sizing a fleet and establishing decentralized redistribution polices of empty equipments by building from inventory theory of multi-echelon system in hub-and-spoke network. An analytical approach to determine control variables of redistribution policies in each terminal and fleet size of the transportation system is proposed and its results are validated by simulation model. Numerical experiments are conducted with respect to parameters of the model and test results for assumptions of the model are discussed.

  • This paper proposes a neuro-controller for position control of one-link flexible robot arm. Basically the controller consists of a multi-layer neural network and a conventional PD controller. Two controller are parallelly connected. Neural network is traind by the conventional error back propagation learning rules. During learning period, the weights of neural network are adjusted to minimize the position error between the desired hub angle and the actual one. Finally the effectiveness of the proposed approach will be demonstrated by computer simulation.

  • We initially obtained human diseases-related proteins dataset from the OMIM and the SWISS PROT and then constructed disease-related protein-protein interaction network. The protein network contains 40 hub proteins such as CALM1, ACTB and ABL2. The protein network can be derived the map of the relationship between different disease proteins, denoted disease interaction network. We demonstrate that the associations between diseases are directly correlated to their underlying protein-protein interaction networks. From constructed the disease-protein bipartite network, we derived 38 diseasomal proteins, including APP, ABL1 and STAT1. We previously demonstrated that hub proteins in the network tend to be diseasomal proteins in the disease-related protein sub-networks. However, we found that 18% hubs are only diseasomal proteins in the whole disease network. At this point, we could not elucidate difference in the hub-diseasomal proteins tendency between sub0network and whole network. In spite of we still have unsolved problems, our results elucidate that the discovery of protein interaction networks assigned by diseases will provide insight into the underlying molecular mechanisms and biological processes in complex human disease system.

  • Late-Koryeo people networks were constructed from four different history books that were written by various historic aspects in the period from king Kongmin to the final king of the Koryeo, Kongyang. All networks constructed in this study show scale free network properties as if most social networks do. Tajo-sillok preface is one of subjectively written history book that described personal history of the Lee Seong-gye and his ancestors. It is confirmed that the book is one of the most biased-written history books through network study. Jeong Do-jeon known as a Chosun dynasty projector is not greatly contributed for founding of a Chosun dynasty in network study and various historical documents as well. In this network study, we provide objective historical information in the historical situations of the late-Koryeo and during establishment procedure of Chosun dynasty. Hub nodes in network is denoted highly linked nodes, called degree. Stress centrality is a unit to measure positional importancy in the network. If we employ two factors, degree and stress centrality to determine hub node, it represents high connectivity and importancy as well. As comparing values of the degree and stress centrality, we elucidate more objective historical facts from late-Koryeo situations in this study. If we further develop and employ a new algorithm that is considered both degree and stress centrality, it is a very useful tool for determining hub node.

  • This study analyzes the economic effect through the use of the RCEP direct transport rules, and suggests the necessacity of logistics efficiency and policy alternatives. The advantage of the hub network has been widely applied to the international logistics system, but there is a limit in the FTA logistics system in which goods must be directly transported between two contracting parties. Therefore, based on the new RCEP direct transport rules and the theoretical review on the possibility of an FTA logistics hub, FTA logistics efficiency improvement is estimated. This study quantitatively estimated the economic effect of direct transportation, unlike the previous studies, which were limited to the analysis of judicial precedents or surveys. GTAP model was used through five scenarios according to the impact of the RCEP tariff cut and the FTA logistics hub establishment in Singapore or Korea. As a result of the analysis, Korea's trade volume increased by 0.38% of exports and 1.63% of imports, and RCEP would increase exports by 0.27% and imports by 0.42%. In particular, the establishment of an FTA logistics hub (0.71%) was found to have a greater effect on the improvement of terms of trade than a tariff cut (0.12%), confirming the necessity of establishing an FTA logistics hub in RCEP. As a policy proposal, the institutional support of the customs authorities for the use of RCEP, the expansion of the free trade area where BWT traded cargo can be stored, and the establishment of a system for issuing back-to-back certificates of origin with approved exporters.

  • We propose a protein function finding algorithm that is able to predict specific molecular function for unannotated proteins through domain analysis from protein-protein network. To do this, we first construct protein-protein interaction(PPI) network in Saccharomyces cerevisiae from MIPS databases. The PPI network(proteins; 3,637, interactions; 10,391) shows the characteristics of a scale-free network and a hierarchical network that proteins with a number of interactions occur in small and the inherent modularity of protein clusters. Protein-protein interaction databases obtained from a Y2H(Yeast Two Hybrid) screen or a composite data set include random false positives. To filter the database, we reconstruct the PPI networks based on the cellular localization. And then we analyze Hub proteins and the network structure in the reconstructed network and define structural modules from the network. We analyze protein domains from the structural modules and derive functional modules from them. From the derived functional modules with high certainty, we find tentative functions for unannotated proteins.

  • This study analyzed the Vulnerability of Network Communication devices when IEMI is coupled with the Network System. An Ultra Wide Band Generator (180 kV, 700 MHz) was used as the IEMI source. The EUTs are the Switch Hub and Workstation, which are used to configure the network system. The network system was monitored through the LAN system configuration, to confirm a malfunction of the network device. The results of the experiment indicate that a malfunction of the network occurs as the electric field increases. The data loss rate increases proportionally with increasing radiating time. In the case of the Switch Hub, the threshold electric field value was 10 kV/m for all conditions used in this experiment. The threshold point causing malfunction was influenced only by the electric field value. The correlation between the threshold point and pulse repetition rate was not found. However, in case of the Workstation, it was found that as the pulse repetition rate increases, the equipment responds weakly and the threshold value decreases. To verify the electrical coupling of the EUT by IEMI, current sensors were used to measure the PCB line inside the EUT and network line coupling current. As a result of the measurement, it can be inferred that when the coupling current due to IEMI exceeds the threshold value, it flows through the internal equipment line, causing a malfunction and subsequent failure. The results of this study can be applied to basic data for equipment protection, and effect analysis of intentional electromagnetic interference.
