This study comprehends that the landscape of Ipsan Village is the accumulated output of the landscape management and social behavior by the historic personages through the reference research and field surveys. And the study sorted out the over-layered landscape characteristics of Ipsan Village by analyzing the dispersed landscape elements as follows. First, right before the start of Japanese invasions to Korea(1592-98), Tamjin(耽津) An(安) Family moved into Ipsan and started establishing the a single clan village. At a site with mountain background and facing the water(背山臨水), the village used to be a typical farming one with an organically planned road-system and housing area following the traditional order. However, the landscape has changed drastically since the 20th century with the construction of banks, roads and readjustment of arable land etc. Second, the original landscape, which can be figured out through the 'Gosanjaesibyukgyeong(高山齋十六景)' in the 18th century, shows its harmony with natural landscape: mountain & valley, stream & field, traditional trees, etc, cultural landscape: village, well, spring, etc, and momentary landscape: seasons, time, weather phenomena, sound, behavior, etc. Third, based on the second, 16 natural landscape elements: mountain & stream, planting, etc. and 25 cultural landscape elements: housing spaces, self-cultivation & ceremony spaces, community spaces and modern education & enlightenment spaces were selected and interpreted as landscaping meanings. Fourth, the over-layered landscape which stems from the compositive functions and inter-connectivity of landscape elements which consists Ipsan Village is regarded as 'Natural geographical and Fungsu landscape', 'Rural production and livelihood landscape', 'Confucian ceremony and symbolic landscape' and 'Modern education and enlightenment landscape.'
The purpose of this study was to investigate the understanding of dietary consciousness and define the relationship of housewife attitude of middle class residence in Puchon city. Questionnaires were collected 282 housewives in Puchon city. Data were analysed with SAS software package for F-test and Duncan's multiple range test. The main findings of the research were as follows: The food related perchasing place was supermarket(91%), ordinary market(77%), department store(68%), special store(58%), common purchase(37%), convenience store(22%) and communication marketing(13%). The clothing perchasing place showed in the order of department store(71%), special store(65%), ordinary market(52%), common purchase(23%), supermarket(18%), convenience store(15%) and communication marketing(10%). Dietary cosciousness of housewife on foods, clothing, and housing related items was significantly different, specially 20's housewife was concerned about foods and 30's housewife was housing(p<0.05). The behavior consciousness of housewife was significantly different between age, education level, family type and income(p<0.05). Highly educated housewife showed a tendency to spend money and times for food related fields, and to buy clothes in a department store for breaking stress(p<0.05). However, low education level and extended family type housewife got more conservative consciousness on traditional fermented food making(p<0.05). Most of young housewife answered that the making of bread, cookies, soybean paste soup, children clothes and handicraft led to positive consciousness(p<0.05). Especially high life satisfaction housewife preferred to make a dosirak(lunch box), dinner, children clothes and handicraft(p<0.05).

This study was conducted to compare the outward aspects, objectives, and the contents of Home Economics text books of middle schools of Korea, Japan, U.S.A. and England. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The outward aspects of tex books: The Korean text books were small in size and the quality of paper was inferior to those of foreign countries. The Japanese text books were written by many authors, contained many lab works and data. Text books of U.S.A. were big in size made with good quality paper and contained many colour pictures. Text books England contained many problems and lab works. 2. Objectives of the Home Economics and Unit objectives: The objective of the subjects of Home Economics was written only in Korean text books. The unit objectives were described most concretely and detailedly in Korean text books comparing with other countries. 3. Contents: Korean text books covered all six areas of foods, clothings, housing, home management, family and occupation and theoretical explanations prevailed. Japanese text books contained numerous lab works, lacked two areas of home management and occupation, thecontents included a few practical lab works two areas of home management and occupation, the contents included a few practical lab works. In the text books of U.S.A. contained all six areas of Home Economics were covered and special emphasis was placed on self discovory and self development, and vocational guidance was also stressed. The text book of England contained only three areas of Home Economics, clothing, foods and housing; the number of area was limited but the basic theories of covered area was intended to lead to self comprehension through questions and lab works.
This study aims to examine the educational function space of university dormitories at local universities with corridor centered structure in Honam area regions based on direct and indirect parameters on the whole satisfaction of users in residential environment factors and personal characteristics. First, according to relations among parameters, educational and cultural activities of four major activities within the dormitory had indirect influences on social activities, eating and sleeping activities had no direct influence on other activities. And social activity had direct influence on the general satisfaction as an important parameter and educational and cultural activities had indirect influence on the whole satisfaction through social activities. Detailed results show that, in the first educational activities directly affecting the lighting and air conditioning facilities (0.22), safety (0.326), Territoriality (0.327), the space density (-0.167), directions (-0.166) and yeohyang having personal characteristics and the safety of the second cultural activities (0.183), Territoriality (0.361), Aesthetics (-0.13) and the personal characteristics Sex (-0.179), the direct effect, third, and erosion has a direct impact on activity The flexibility of the space factor (-0.128) and Territoriality (0.38) and the personal characteristics grade (0.172), respectively. Fourth in social activities directly affecting the pathfinding (-0.104), and parameter, education (0.388) and cultural activities (0.445), and some of the factors affecting the indirect lighting and air conditioning facilities, safety, and Territoriality, the space density, directions, grade, they could influence through educational activities to be analyzed. That is, territoriality in educational function space is the important factor that users react very sensitively in educational, eating and sleeping activities and educational function space must secure area and division considering personal and public use as the space accommodating activity which is lacking in unit residential space. Accordingly, the safety of educational function space in university dormitory is considered as the fundamental safety matter on the fire prevention, hygiene and cleanness for users in the satisfaction of educational and cultural activities.

This research aimed to analize the cognitive intensity of valuation(C.I.V) on urban environment as a first stage of the works on evaluative urban image under the hypothesis that it could be interpreted with a correlation analysis between the C.I.V and attitude(Satisfaction of unsatisfaction Intensity) toward urban environment. As a method of a study, 118 cognitive elements were selected representing an urban environment, and each of elements was suggested to citizens of Kyungju with 7 point Likert Scale. The analysis of C.I.V was operated under the three criteria: The first, three of urban space scale(urban scale, neighborhood scale, and housing scale), the second, four elements of urban living environment(safety, amenity, healthfulness, and effectiveness), and the last, thirteen urban unit environment(housing, traffic, education, tourism, medical/health, culture, etc.). The results were as follows: C.I.V to each of 118 elements was cleary defined, showing the possibilities of being applied to a method for subjective, or cognitive evaluation on urban environment: It was revealed that citizens'C.I.V was rather higher in non-physical, qualitative elements than in physical and quantitative ones. This shows well the limitation of the objective method of evaluation of urban environment: The results of the others' studies on the image of Kyungju based on the cognitive approach, being focused on the analysis of the visual aspects of urban structure, cultural assets, historic site and tourism, were almost same as this study but it was quite different for this research to reveal well the citizens' cognition on their living environment of traffic, education, medical, etc..

The purpose of this study is to estimate the expenditure determinants of the leisure goods consumption market. In order to achieve the research purpose, 6597 samples of household trend survey data were used. Tobit model was applied to estimate expenditure determinants. As a result of analysis, expenditure determinants for sporting goods were influenced by marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The variables influencing spending on leisure items such as mountain climbing, fishing and hunting items were influenced by gender, marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The analysis results can be used as policy data for the establishment of leisure culture. The National Statistical Office's household trend survey is a yearly survey through a nationwide survey, but despite the fact that it is reliable data, it is not possible to apply various variables such as psychological characteristics to estimate consumer expenditure determinants more concretely. This study examined the recycling system of a foreign lung excreta system. First, the measures for promoting the recycling of a pulmonary digestive system were as follows. Second, a manual considering specialization, such as the construction of a recycling treatment system of fire extinguishers and the collection, transportation, recycling, publicity, and education of fire extinguishers, were developed. Third, an education and counseling system is needed to overcome the lack of experience and technical support for systematic and safe disposal of pulmonary digestive system. Fourth, to promote the recycling of fire extinguishers in the government and fire extinguisher related organizations, it is necessary to prevent environmental pollution and recycle parts to reduce the waste of resources and improve the fire extinguisher quality by fostering a fire safety industry and policy support.

This paper has focused on the geographical patterns of migrations and the influence of housing value(apartment) per pyung on the migrations within the one city(Seoul) for 1995$\sim$2003. The migration flows which are composed of the origin, the destination and the number of migrants, are examined at the administrative gu and dong level. As most migrations occur among adjacent gus and dongs, short-distance migration is prominent But there is a tendency for the short-distance migrations to occur between specific regions. Since the economic crisis of 1997 out of which Korea was rescued by IMF, differentiation of housing price is so evident that residental relocation is selective among dongs. It seems that the differentiation of housing price has begun to facilitate the relocation of households. Certain social groups are excluded from high-quality residences, as they cannot afford the high price. The number of migrants between dongs is closely related to the variation of the housing value per pyung within dongs. The short-distance migration may reflect this phenomena simultaneously. It seems that the intra-urban migrations in Seoul play a important role to produce and reinforce the residential segregation.
The purpose of this study is to examine the residents' preference to community facilities in national rental apartment complexes. Twelve housing complexes were sampled and researched with questionnaire and field-surrey methods. The data from the questionnaire survey were processed with SPSS 14 and analyzed by regional group, size of complex, and arrangement plan of facilities. The complexes are located in two legions, Seoul and Gyounggi province. They were also sorted into three groups by size: less than 500 households, 500 to 1,000, and more than 1,000. Lastly, the complexes were categorized into three types: those where facilities are concentrated in or around a single building, dispersed into several places, and located in residential buildings. The results are as follows: Majority of the community facilities are established outdoor and, therefore, the indoor facilities are relatively more insufficient. Especially, there is a shortage of indoor gymnasium while the demand is increasing. It is partly because there is no regulatory guideline on indoor gym requirements in housing complexes. The resident satisfaction measurement shows significant comparison according to region and complex size. The level of satisfaction with garden/kitchen-garden, pond/fountain/streamlet is higher at the complexes in Gyunggi. The residents of larger complexes give positive feedback about spells facilities while those of smaller complexes are more satisfied with education-related facilities such as library and study. The measurement of resident needs shows significant comparison according to complex size and facility arrangement plan. The residents of smaller complexes are more in need of community facilities. In both regulatory standards and actual condition, community facilities are more insufficient at small complexes with less than 500 households.
The purpose of this study was to find out the relationships among the elderly's self-esteem and life-adjustment according to decision-making power in their family. Interview survey was conducted and were selected. 296 over age 60 who lived in Jeonju. Frequencies, Percentiles, Pearson's correlation, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's method were utilized for data analysis. The findings of this study were as follows ; 1) Decision-making power of the elderly in family had significant differences according to sex, coresiding with married children, and the sum of monthly personal expenses. 2) Elderly's self-esteem had significant differences according to sex, the present job, the situation of a spouse, and the sum of the monthly personal expenses. 3) Elderly's life-adjustment had significant difference according to residence type, the present job, the situation of a spouse, religion, education, and the sum of the monthly personal expenses. 4) Clothing and food in family had significant differences according to sex. 5) The elderly men's self-esteem had positive relationship with housing, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. But the elderly women's self-esteem had positive relationship with food, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. 6) The elderly men's life-adjustment had positive relationship with clothing, food, housing, family economy, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. But the elderly women's life-adjustment had positive relationship with food, housing, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc.
