쌀의 수침시간에 따른 쌀가루의 이화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Properties of Rice Flours as Influenced by Soaking Time of Rice)

  • This investigation was undertaken for the purpose of studying the physicochemical properties of rice flour made by various soaking time(1,4,6,8,12 hours) of rice. As the soaking time was longer, the lightness of rice flours increased, on the contrary its redness and yellowness decreased. Rice flours had higher swelling power and solubility by increasing soaking time, but water binding capacity decreased upon soaking of rice. Hot water insoluble amylose of rice flours was decreased, whereas hot water soluble amylose was increased as the soaking time increased. The amylograph indices indicated that initial pasting temperature of rice flours decreased, while maximum viscosity increased as the soaking time increased.

Management of Charcoal Rot of Sesame by Seed Soaking in Medicinal Plant Extracts and Hot Water

  • Macrophomina phaseolina causing charcoal rot was isolated from sesame seeds (cvs. Giza 32 and Shandawel-3) collected from different localities of Assiut, Sohage and El-Minia Governorates. The fungus was found in the highest frequently in samples collected from Assiut Governorate followed by Sohag and finally EL Minia Governorate. The obtained isolates were different in their virulence on the tested sesame cvs. Also, they differed in their growth nature including colony color and sclerotial production. The color of colonies of the pathogen seem to be correlated with density of sclerotial formation. Aqueous extracts of Majorna, Wild chamomile, Geranium oil and Nees plants were highly toxic to tested isolates of M. phaseolina, in vitro. On the other hand the rest of the tested aqueous extracts had no effect. Under greenhouse conditions in 2005 and 2006 seasons, soaking seeds of sesame before sowing in aqueous extracts of Eucalyptus, Nerium, Ocimum and Roesmary plants decreased the disease incidence. Aqueous extracts of Eucalyptus and Ocimum were the most effective treatment. Dipping sesame seeds in hot water at $60^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes increased seed germination of Giza 32 and Shandawel-3 cvs. followed by $55^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$ and $45^{\circ}C$, while $40^{\circ}C$ treatment resulted the lowest seed germination rate. Dipping sesame seeds in hot water at different temperature before planting decreased seed, seedling and charcoal rots. Soaking seeds in hot water at $60^{\circ}C$ increased greatly plant height and decreased seed, seedling rot and charcoal rot followed by $55^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$, under greenhouse condition.

두과 작물의 경실종자 발아촉진에 대한 종피연화처리의 효과 (Effects of Scarification and Water Soaking Treatment on Germination of Hard-Seeded Legumes)

  • 우리나라 재래 수집종인 제비콩, 갓끈동부와 쥐눈이콩은 종피가 매우 두껍고 딱딱하여 물 흡수가 어려워 발아율이 각각 26%, 17%와 5%에 불가하다. 이들 종자는 저장성에서 그 가치가 높이 평가되지만, 포장에 파종할 때 발아율이 낮아 문제가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이들 종자의 발아율을 향상시키기 위하여 몇 가지 종피약화 처리를 실시하여 가장 효과적인 방법을 도출하였다. 종피약화 처리방법 중 가장 정상묘율이 높은 것은 제비콩은 tap water ($20^{\circ}C$)에서 24시간 침지 했을 때 85%이였으며, 갓끈동부는 hot water에서 8시간 침지했을 때 45%이였다. 그러나 소립이고 경도가 높은 쥐눈이콩은 진한 sulfuric acid에 10분간 침지 했을 때 72%의 정상묘율을 보였다.

  • We studied medicinal theory on processing drugs of Wang-Ang. Wang-Ang used various methods of medicinal processing. He used such as soaking(浸), maceration(泡), washing(洗), elutriation(淘), mixing together(拌), refining powder with water(水飛) and floating(水漂) in medicinal processing with water. He used such as making hot(?), roasting in ashes(?), stir-frying with liquid(炙), parching(炒), heating(燒), baking(焙), stirring-baking(?) and distilling(煉) in medicinal processing with fire. He used such as steaming(蒸), boiling(煮), making hot and soaking(??) in medicinal processing with water and fire. And He used such as cooking(熟), making drugs into gelatin(制膠), making drugs into frostlike powder(制霜法), making drugs into bead(制珠), fermentation(生衣) and compound medicinal processing(複制法).

온탕소독과 prochloraz 침지소독이 벼 종자에 감염된 Fusarium fujikuroi의 포자와 균사의 형태에 미치는 영향에 대한 전자현미경적 연구 (Electron Microscopic Study for the Influence of Soaking in Hot Water and Prochloraz Solution on Spore and Mycelium of Fusarium fujikuroi Infected in Rice Seed)

  • 본 연구는 키다리병에 심하게 감염된 종자를 온탕침법과 prochloraz 유제로 종자소독 시 그 효과가 떨어지는 원인을 규명하기 위해 시행하였다. 키다리병이 발병한 포장에서 수확한 종자의 경우 병원균이 벼 종자의 배와 배유 안쪽까지 감염되어 있었다. $60^{\circ}C$에서 10분 동안 온탕 소독한 종자의 경우 종피 표면의 균사는 파괴되어 비정상적인 반면 배 주피 안쪽에 존재하는 균사는 정상적인 형태로 존재하였다. 포자는 종피 표면에서 비정상적인 포자와 정상적인 포자를 모두 확인하였다. prochloraz 유제로 $30^{\circ}C$ 24시간 침지소독 한 경우 종피의 균사는 완전히 파괴되었으나 포자는 정상과 비정상 포자 모두 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 온탕소독의 경우 종피 같은 물리적 한계로 인해 고열이 병원균에 전달되지 못하고, prochloraz의 경우 병원균 포자를 완전히 사멸시키기 못하기 때문에 종자소독 효과가 떨어짐을 알 수 있었다.

Recovery of Xylo-oligomer and Lignin Liquors from Rice Straw by Two 2-step Processes Using Aqueous Ammonia Followed by Hot-water or Sulfuric Acid

  • A two-step process was investigated for pretreatment and fractionation of rice straw. The two-step fractionation process involves first, soaking rice straw in aqueous ammonia (SAA) in a batch reactor to recover lignin-rich hydrolysate. This is followed by a second-step treatment in a fixed-bed flow-through column reactor to recover xylo-oligomer-rich hydrolysate. The remaining glucan-rich solid cake is then subjected to an enzymatic process. In the first variant, SAA treatment in the first step dissolves lignin at moderate temperature (60 and $80^{\circ}C$), while in the second step, hot-water treatment is used for xylan removal at higher temperatures ($150{\sim}210^{\circ}C$). Under optimal conditions ($190^{\circ}C$ reaction temperature, 30 min reaction time, 5.0 ml/min flow rate, and 2.3 MPa reaction pressure), the SAA-hot-water fractionation removed 79.2% of the lignin and 63.4% of the xylan. In the second variant, SAA was followed by treatment with dilute sulfuric acid. With this process, optimal treatment conditions for effective fractionation of xylo-oligomer were found to be $80^{\circ}C$, 12 h reaction time, solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:12 in the first step; and 5.0 ml $H_2SO_4/min$, $170^{\circ}C$, and 2.3 MPa in the second step. After this two-step fractionation process, 85.4% lignin removal and 78.9% xylan removal (26.8% xylan recovery) were achieved. Use of the optimized second variant of the two-step fractionation process (SAA and $H_2SO_4$) resulted in enhanced enzymatic digestibility of the treated solid (99% glucan digestibility) with 15 FPU (filter paper unit) of CTec2 (cellulase)/g-glucan of enzyme loading, which was higher than 92% in the two-step fractionation process (SAA and hot-water).

Effect of seed priming on germination and sprouting vigor of colored rice

  • The study was conducted to select optimal materials for promoting germination rate, high sprouting vigor by priming treatment using PEG 6000 (water potential -0.5 to 2.0 Mpa) and Azolla extracts (0.1, 1.0, and 10.0%) extracted by ethanol, distilled, and/or hot water in colored rice cultivars. Each rice seed (three black rice cultivars and two red rice cultivars) was soaked 24 and 48 hr including untreated control. In black rice, Joseongheugchal rice cultivar, azolla ethanol extract (0.1%) induced highest germination rate, germination speed was taken to 5 days in distilled water and to 3days in Azolla extracts extracted hot water. Otherwise, degree of bacterial inhibition (number of colony, $10^3cfu$) in dry seed, water soaking for 24hr, soaking with fungicide for 24hr and 48hr, soaking with fungicide and aeration for 24hr and 48 hr was 22, 500, 95, and 0.46, respectively. In order to minimize fungal inhibition, a method can be chosen to combination of soaking fungicide and aeration for 48 hr. In seed priming treatments using growth pouch, seed soaking with fungicide did not affect change of germination percentage and germination speed, it delayed only 2 or 4day in the Joseongheugchal rice cultivar. It differs from rice cultivars and priming materials, Azolla extract(0.1 to 1%) promotes seed germination percentage in the Ilpum, Hongjinju, and Joseonghuegchal, in addition, germination in Jeogjinju cultivar was only promoted by PEG solution(10 to 20%), otherwise, it showed much lower or inhibited on the germination in Heugjinju and Sinmyungheugchal rice cultivars. In a paddy field trial, seedling establishment rate by applying PEG6000 and azolla extract did not show significantly statistical difference. When it compared with untreated control, seedling establishment rate was increased over 50% in priming treatments. Interestingly, seedling establishment rate under azolla extract (0.1%) extracted with ethanol was promoted over 2.5 times compared to the control in a black rice, Joseongheugchal and red rice, Jeogjinju.

벼 키다리병 방제에 관한 황토유황의 종자소독 효과 (Effect of Rice Seed Disinfection of Loess-sulfur on the Suppression of Bakanae disease caused by Fusarium fujikuroi)

  • 본 연구는 황토유황을 활용하여 벼 키다리병 발병을 최소화할 수 있는 최적 종자소독조건을 선발하기 위해 수행되었다. 키다리병에 이병된 '신동진' 품종 벼 종자를 공시하였고 황토유황 농도, 침지온도, 시간, 온탕여부를 구분하여 실내 및 온실검정을 통해 침지시간은 48시간, 침지농도는 1%로 최적 소독조건을 선발하였다. 그리고 모판과 포장시험을 수행하여 온탕처리 후 $20^{\circ}C$, 1% 황토유황에 48시간 침지 처리구와 $30^{\circ}C$, 1% 황토유황에 48시간 단독 침지할 때 가장 효과가 높았다는 것을 확인하였고 위 처리조건으로 소독한 종자가 육묘, 이앙, 출수기를 거치면서도 100%의 높은 방제효과가 유지되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 $20^{\circ}C$에서 1% 황토유황으로 침지한 처리구에서는 포장에서 78.2%의 낮은 방제가를 보였다. 또한, 온탕소독만 수행한 처리구에서도 $60^{\circ}C$, 10분간 충실히 수행될 경우 효과적인 벼 키다리병 방제가 가능함을 보여주었지만 온탕처리 후 황토유황으로 추가 침지함으로서 많은 양의 종자를 소독할 때 좀 더 나은 키다리병 방제 효과를 가져다 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 농가에서 온탕소독기와 종자소독기 둘 중 한가지만 구비하더라도 황토유황을 이용하여 충분한 소독효과를 낼 수 있기 때문에 현장에서 보다 쉽게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단되며 제조방법이 쉽고 비용이 적게 드는 황토유황의 특성상 농가의 경영비 절감효과도 클 것으로 기대된다.

  • This study was carried out to determine the optimal cooking conditions for various rice cultivars (Ilpoom, Saechucheong, Sindongjin, and Sura-top rice) using trial preparations with different soaking times (0, 30, and l20min) and cooking equipment (electric pressure cookers, electric cookers, gas pressure cookers, iron pots, and stone pots). In adddition, the texture and sensory characteristics of the rice prepared with the electric pressure cookers, gas pressure cookers, and stone pots were analyed. The results showed that the moisture, amylose and physicochemical compositions of the four rice varieties were similar. According to RVA, the Sura, cultivar had generally high viscosity, and the Ilpoom, cultivar presented the highest hot and peak viscosities. Saechucung had the highest initial gelatinizing temperature and Sindongjin showed the greatest setback. The optimal amounts of added water as well as heating conditons were dependent on the rice varieties, soaking times, and cooking equipment. A longer soaking time reduced the hardness of the cooked rice, amount of added water, and the heating time. The pressure cooking equipment provided the best cooked rice texture, reduced the affect of the soaking time, and decreased the heating time. In general, all the variaties of cooked rice had high overall acceptability, which tended to increase when the rice was soaked for 30min prior to cooking, had a 1.2-fold amount of water to rice added, and was cooked in the pressure equipment.

제2인산(第二燐酸) 암모늄에 의한 합판(合板)의 내화처리(耐火處理)(I) -온냉침지처리(温冷浸漬處理)와 열판(熱板)에 의한 처리합판(處理合板)의 재건조(再乾燥) - (Fire Retardant Treatment to the Plywood with Di-ammonium Phosphate [(NH4)2 HPO4](I) -Hot and Cold Soaking Treatment and Redrying of Treated Plywood by Hot Platen-)

  • 대표적(代表的)인 건축내장재료(建築內裝材料)인 합판(合板)은 가연성(可燃性)이 매우 커서 각종(各種) 대형화재(大型火災)의 요인(要因)이 되고 있다. 따라서 내화합판(耐火合板) 제조(製造)의 필요성(必要性)이 절실(絶實)히 요구(要求)되고 있으며, 이와 관련(關聯)하여 우선적(優先的)으로 해결(解決)해야 할 과제(課題)로서 DAP 처리합판(處理合板)의 재건조(再乾燥)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)를 수행하였는 바 5.25mm두께의 Meranti합판(合板)을 제2인산(第二燐酸)암모늄(DAP) 20% 수용액(水溶液)에 온냉욕법(温冷浴法)으로, 즉 각각 3, 6, 9 및 12시간(時間) 온냉처리(温冷處理)한 다음 공(共)히 3시간(時間) 냉액침지처리(冷液浸漬處理)하였으며 그 때의 약액흡수량(藥液吸收量)과, 이들 처리합판(處理合板)을 130, 145, 160 및 $175^{\circ}C$의 열판온도(熱板温度)로 건조(乾燥)함으로써 건조곡선(乾燥曲線)과 건조속도(乾操速度)를 고찰(考察)하였다. 그 결과(結果), 온냉욕법(温冷浴法)에 의한 합판(合板)의 약액흡수량(藥液吸收量)은 침지시간(浸漬時間)이 증가(增加)함에 따라 꾸준히 증가(增加)하였고, 수분(水分)의 흡수량(吸收量)이 DAP의 흡수량(吸收量)보다 더 많았으며 DAP 약제보유량(藥劑保有量)은 최단침지처리시간(最短浸漬處理時間)의 경우에도 최저보유량(最低保有量)[$1.125kg/(30cm)^3$]을 상회(上廻)하였다. 한편 내화처리합판(耐火處理合板)의 건조곡선(乾操曲線)은 모든 처리시간(處理時間)에서 수분처리합판(水分處理合板)의 건조곡선(乾操曲線)이 DAP약제처리합판(藥劑處理合板)의 그것보다 경사가 급했으며 열판온도(熱板温度)가 상승(上昇)할수록 건조(乾操)가 급속(急速)히 진행(進行)되어 $160^{\circ}C$를 적용(適用)했을 때는 2.5~4분(分)에 건조(乾操)가 완료(完了)되었다. 건조속도(乾操速度)에 있어서도 대체(大體)로 열판온도(熱板温度)가 증가(增加)할수록 그 값이 증가(增加)하였으며 DAP처리(處理)의 경우는 $175^{\circ}C$ 적용시(適用時), 그리고 수분처리(水分處理)의 경우는 $160^{\circ}C$부터 10%/min 이상(以上)의 건조속도(乾操速度)를 나타내었다.
