미용성형 환자의 병원 선택 요인과 만족도 (Hospital Selection Factors and Degree of Satisfaction of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Patients)

  • Recently hospitals are trying to meet requests of patients by reflecting regular survey results of patients into hospital's management in order to increase patients' satisfaction and the rate of return visit. In this paper, degree of patients' satisfaction and the rate of return visit were analyzed using surveys of hospital selection factors and the characteristics of aesthetic plastic surgery. This analysis results can be used as data for setting up efficient management direction of aesthetic plastic surgery hospitals. In the main results, facilities and medical trust factor was the primary cause for aesthetic plastic surgery patients to select hospitals and the results showed that hospitals have to consider carefully not only aesthetic plastic surgery patients but also guardians such as parents or friends because patients are acquiring surgery information from them. The results also showed approachableness to hospitals was not important factor to select a hospital.

Differences in the perceptions of partnership between nurses and mothers of children in a pediatric intensive care unit in South Korea: a qualitative study

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate how pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) nurses and the mothers of hospitalized children perceived their partnership and identify the detailed differences in the common domains of partnership between them. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design with semi-structured and open-ended interviews was used. Interviews with mothers of hospitalized children and nurses in the PICU were conducted at a national university hospital in South Korea. Results: Five integrated categories were identified concerning nurses' and mothers' perceptions of partnership. Five common domains were derived by merging the partnership categories perceived by each PICU mother and nurse: expectation of trust, sharing and communication, participation in care, equality in the relationship, and coordination of opinion However, there were significant differences in the composition of the categories of these common domains. Conclusion: These results may facilitate more effective partnerships between parents and PICU nurses. Efforts should be taken to promote the formation of trust between nurses and parents and create an environment that is conductive to regular open communication in particular, steps should be taken to reduce gaps in awareness concerning this partnership and information sharing, nursing methods, and decision-making.

중환자실 환자 가족의 경험: 의료인들과의 상호작용 (Experiences of Families in the Intensive Care Unit: Interactions with Health Care Providers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to provide deep understanding of the reported experiences of families with their loved one in the intensive care unit (ICU), focusing on interactions with healthcare providers. Methods: The data were collected by individual interviews of eleven participants. The transcribed data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify major themes and sub-themes that represented the experiences of families. Results: Five themes and 13 sub-themes emerged. "Captive of patients' delayed death: Fear and anxiety" describes psychological problems arising when the family member became critically ill enough to warrant being admitted to the ICU. "Families as the weak: Suppression and resistance" describes interpersonal difficulties arising due to lack of information and trust with healthcare providers. "Deprivation of authority and duty as families: Helplessness" illustrate situational barriers in attempting to protect and support family member. "Re-establishment of trust relationship with healthcare providers: Gratitude and appreciation" describes how they satisfied with themselves by regaining trust relationship. Lastly, "Acceptance of reality through direct care participation: Relief and peace" illustrates peace of mind by gaining sense of reality through active direct care participation. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the positive and negative experiences of families with ICU patients. The results will be useful in developing family-centered nursing interventions.

Effects of Social Capital on Subjective Health in the Community Indwelling Elderly

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine a path model on the relationship among social capital, physical activity and subjective health status in the community indwelling elderly. Methods: The study was conducted utilizing the 2014 Seoul Survey, in the method of analyzing cross-sectional design and secondary data. Among 45,497 participants in total, the data of 4578 adults aged 65 or above was analyzed. Social capital was measured by social trust and social participation. Physical activity was measured by regular exercise. Additionally, a numerical rating scale was used to assess subjective health status. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients and path analysis. Results: Social participation and physical activity showed a direct effect on subjective health status in community indwelling elderly while social trust and physical activity showed an indirect effect on their subjective health status. The hypothetical path model of community indwelling elderly's subjective health status was proved correct. Conclusion: Findings from this study indicate that health-promoting intervention for community indwelling elderly should consider social trust and participation.

간호학생들의 돌봄에 대한 지각 (Nursing Students' Perceptions of Caring)

  • Caring, according to Leininger, is the essence of nursing : it is the central and unifying domain of science and practice of nursing. The problem addressed by the this study was to explore nursing students' perceptions of caring. The purpose was to provide theoretical understanaling at how students conceptualize caring througout the three years of their educational preparation. The subjects for this study were 343 nursing students of one three - year Christian college of nursing in a major regional city in Korea. The data were collected from May 6 to 25, 1991, through an open - ended questionnaire. The data analysis used was descriptive method. Validity was strengthened by confirmations with by a doctoral candidate and three other nursing professors. From the data, 557 descriptive statements were organized into 70 taring behavior patterns and 16 categories of taring. The 16 categories were helping, comfort, love, concern, support, being present, protection, health maintenance, fulfillment. warmth, Instruction, empathy, trust, sharing, restoration and nurturance. The five categories primarily reported by first year students were, In order, helping, comfort:. restoration, protection, and love, by second year students, helping, comfort, love, being present, and support : and by third year students, helping, comfort, love, concern, and support. Instruction, empathy, trust, sharing and nurturance were least reported by the students. Instuction, trust and nurturance were not expressed by first year students. The Korean nursing student's concepts, of caring appeared to be similiar to Leininger's caring constructs but warmth and fulfillment were specified by these students. Theoretical understanding of concepts central to nursing contributes to the development at the discipline.

Health Beliefs of Nursing Faculty Students about Breast Cancer and Self Breast Examination

  • Background: Breast cancer usually shows a slow development rate and when it is recognized in early stages very successful treatment results can be achieved. This research was planned to research the health beliefs of nursing faculty students about breast cancer and breast self-examination (BSE). Materials and Methods: The first class students of nursing faculty formed the basis for this descriptive research (N=347). Sample selection was not made and all female students who wanted to participate voluntarily in the research during March-May of 2014 were included (n=331). Results: It was determined that 85.5% of students had knowledge about cancer, 79.5 % knew of breast cancer, and 65.3% were aware of how BSE is performed. According to the responses of students to the scale of the health belief model that is used to determine the health beliefs of students, item-point averages of trust and obstacle sub-dimensions were high. Conclusions: It is determined that more than half of students had knowledge about breast cancer and breast self-examination. Their health beliefs were affected by trust and obstacle perceptions, knowledge level about cancer, and awareness about how BSE is done. These factors should be considered in planning trainings that will be given to students. Social responsibility projects should have designed to create the awareness that cancer is a treatable disease.

대학병원 간호사의 COVID-19 예방행위에 미치는 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Hospital Nurses' COVID-19 Prevention Behaviors)

  • 본 연구는 병원간호사의 COVID-19 위험인식, 미디어 의존, 정부신뢰, 회복탄력성과 사회심리적 스트레스가 COVID-19 예방행위에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 수행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 대학병원 간호사 200명을 대상으로 자료수집을 하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 24.0 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계, t-test, Pearson's 상관관계 분석, ANOVA, 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 대상자의 평균연령은 29.8세, 병원 경력은 6.6년이었고, COVID-19 예방행위는 4.3점으로 높은 편이었다. COVID-19 예방행위는 COVID-19 위험인식, 회복탄력성 및 미디어 의존과는 정적상관관계 사회심리적 스트레스와 부적상관관계를 보였다. COVID-19 예방행위에 영향을 미치는 요인은 COVID-19 위험인식, 회복탄력성, 사회심리적 스트레스, 미디어 의존이었다. 병원간호사의 COVID-19 예방행위가 지속할 수 있도록 COVID-19 위험인식 및 미디어 의존을 적절히 관리하고, 회복탄력성 강화와 사회심리적 스트레스 경감을 위한 중재프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 필요하다.

텍스트 마이닝을 통한 상급종합병원의 미션, 비전, 핵심가치 분석 연구 (Analysis of Mission, Vision and Core values in Korean Tertiary General Hospitals Through Text Mining)

  • Purposes: This research is conducted to identify main features and trends of mission, vision and core values in Korean tertiary general hospitals by using text-mining. Methodology: For the study, 45 mission, 112 vision and 190 core values are collected from 45 tertiary general hospitals' homepages in 2022 and use word frequency analysis and Leyword co-occurrence analysis. Findings: In the tertiary general hospitals' mission, there are high frequency words such as 'health', 'humanity', 'medical treatment', 'education', 'research', 'happiness', 'love', 'best', 'spirit', and mission mainly includes the content of contributing humanity's health and happiness with these words. In case of vision, high frequency words are 'hospital', 'medical treatment', 'research', 'lead', 'trust', 'centered', 'patient', 'best', 'future'. By using these words in vision, it represents the definition and characteristics of vision such as ideal organizations in the future, goals and targets. As a result of the Leyword co-occurrence analysis, vision includes the content of 'high-tech medical treatment', 'special care for patients', 'leading education and research', 'the highest trust with customer', 'creative talents training'. -astly, the high frequency word-pairs in core values are 'social distribution', 'innovation pursuit', 'cooperation and harmony', and it defines standards of behavior for organizations. Practical Implication: To correct the problems of vision, mission and core values from findings, firstly, it needs for Korean tertiary general hospitals to use the words that can explain organization's identity and differentiate others in their mission. Secondly, considering strengthening the role of hospitals in their community and the importance of members in organizations, it is necessary to establish vision with considering community and members to activate vision effectively. Thirdly, because there are no specific guidelines of establishing mission, vision and core values for healthcare organizations, this research concepts and results could be utilized when other organizations establish mission, vision and core values.

국내 상급종합병원의 환자복 문양 디자인 현황 분석 (Analyzing the Pattern Design of Patient Gowns of Domestic General Hospitals)

  • A major factor in making current hospital gowns is how to manage patients from the standpoint of hospitals. This shows that hospital gowns have not been considered as an apparel for a specific purpose with a design that considers the psychological composure of patients. This study, along with a meticulous analysis of the pattern design of domestic hospital gown suggests a design philosophy that can be of emotional help to patients. The analysis of hospital gowns in terms of motif is that the corporate identity of the hospital in question, along with the lettering symbolizing the hospital is conspicuous. The motif shown in the pattern also has a brightness contrast and two-way pattern. This study suggests hospital gown patterns as follows. First, on the basis of color dynamics, utilize repetition arrangement, camaieu arrangement and faux camaieu arrangement. Second, make use of warm colors in order to enhance trust between patients and medical staff. Last, use green color as a dominant color for the hospital to be felt of as a convenient space. Utilizing these three factors in the future design of hospital gowns will assist in the development of new hospital gowns that render a psychological composure.

병원 근로자의 지식공유에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Hospital Employees' Knowledge Sharing)

  • The objective of this research is to survey of knowledge management in hospitals and to search the factors to impact the knowledge sharing and innovation behavior among employees. The data is collected with hospital employees by questionnaire method. Total number of analysis is 779 cases, and the collected data is analyzed by SEM(structural equation model). The work performance(WP) make influence the innovation behavior(IB) through knowledge sharing(KS) intention. The KS intention and IB are different in sex, age, education, work duration and work level. But, WP is different only in sex. The only personnel and organizational factors to affect KS intention, WP and IB are reciprocity(in personnel factor) and trust(in organization factor). Those factors mean the mental or psychological relationship among employees. So, to make more developed knowledge management in hospitals is to need more personal relationship than any other system management or incentives.
