Predictions about shrinkage and creep of concrete are very important for evaluating time-dependent effects on structural performance. Some prediction models and formulas of concrete shrinkage and creep have been proposed with diversity. However, the influence of reinforcement ratio on shrinkage and creep of concrete has been ignored in most prediction models and formulas. In this paper, the concrete shrinkage and creep with different ratios of reinforcement were studied. Firstly, the shrinkage performance was tested by the 10 reinforced concrete beams specimens with different reinforcement ratios for 200 days. Meanwhile, the creep performance was tested by the 5 reinforced concrete beams specimens with different ratios of reinforcement under sustained load for 200 days. Then, the test results were compared with the prediction models and formulas of CEB-FIP 90, ACI 209, GL 2000 and JTG D 62-2004. At last, based on ACI 209, an improved prediction models and formulas of concrete shrinkage and creep considering reinforcement ratio was derived. The results from improved prediction models and formulas of concrete shrinkage and creep are in good agreement with the experimental results.

This study proposes using children's literature as a means of teaching and learning English as a foreign language and suggests practical strategies on the basis of transactional theory of reading suggested by Rosenblatt (1994, 1995). This study suggests three novels written for children or young adults: On My Honor (1986) by Marion Dane Bauer, The Giver (1993) by Lois Lowry and Hatchet (1987) by Gary Paulsen. These texts were selected because of their diverse topics, easy and comprehensible language, engaging stories, and authentic and rich expressions, making them effective materials for foreign language learners. This paper is organized as follows: First, it reviews research on teaching literature in English education and response-oriented language teaching to provide theoretical background of literature-based language teaching and learning. Second, it provides the background of the texts selected for the study. Third, it develops diverse, practical strategies for instructors who intend to use children's literature in EFL teaching. We expect to guide EFL instructors in adopting children's literature in their English class by connecting theory and practice and by providing diverse methods and strategies, and sample responses by EFL university students.

This paper examines the role of gender ideology in early British and American detective fiction focusing on the female detectives. Since a detective's attributes honor and idealize such traditionally masculine qualities as independence, intelligence, heroism, and bravery, the woman detective fiction has potentiality to operate against the established gender norms. The narratives about women in pursuit of justice and order through their criminal investigation can allow women to possess the masculine rationality and power. The subversive possibility inherent in the woman detective fiction is, however, contained by the representation of the female detectives and the negotiation through narratives. A female detective is represented either as unfeminine and thus unattractive and unlikeable or as desperate for survival. Her threatening potentiality is easily dismissed as that of an inadequate woman or a desperate one. The compromise in narratives is effected by the following three ways: first, a female detective is assigned to investigate crimes as an assistant to the male detectives; second, staying within the domestic sphere, she solves crimes by using her expert knowledge of the domestic service; and third, her detective narrative ends with the conventional marriage plot. Confining the female detectives within the conventional feminine roles and domains, the woman detective fiction supports and reestablishes the dominant gender ideology.

This paper analysis Daesoon thoughts of three essence Sung, Kyoung, Sin in the traditional confucianism emphasis in the distinct ethical implications of religious meaning. Daesoon thoughts basically background on the supreme god sangje of religious faith. Here's sangje is as Daesoonjinrihoe religious order of the supreme god, to achieve the human religious daeyeoksa come world ingyeoksin which means gangjeungsan. Thus, Daesunjinri start come world gangjeungsan which is believe sangje, as Tenet. Faith and purpose degree all around having religious denomination, see based on the attitude of religious faith. So Daesunjinri of tenet doctrine that corresponds to the three essence which is Sung, Kyoung, Sin of understand also need to explanation is based on religious attitude. Three essence is three important truth or meaning of three important clause, to possess all the religious attitude of Christian said. Always said to hearty funeral of hearts (誠), the fear of spirits and honor the Emperor(敬), one strong gangjeungsan do not doubt believed that the Emperor(信) is that. Thus in the text, Daesoon thoughts of Sung, Kyoung. Sin as by analyzing the religious dimension, Daesunjinri is to achieve the tenet doctrine. Also shown in 『jenkyoung』 views of the individual religious experience and religious devotion and reverence and faith for the analysis of the arguments presented by the Emperor Daesunjinri faith the transcendence of truth inspires faith or deepen naganeunde would like to contribute.

Since Philipp Reis succeeded in sending human voices through electric wires well ahead of Elisha Gray and A. G. Bell etc., he deserves to be acknowledged as the inventor of the telephone. Nevertheless, he did not enjoy any honor for his great invention while he was alive. Since he was working in a scientific community, his work was presented not as a patentable invention but as a scientific discovery. In addition, he used the intermittent electricity in accordance with the experimental tradition in European acoustics, occasioning the speech quality of his telephone to have a fatal shortcoming. On the contrary, Bell, who was a novice in electricity and acoustics, employed variable currents to transmit the sound signals, which guaranteed better speech qualities than Reis's.

This paper is dedicated to the enhancement of the second-grade students of middle school students' understanding of the basic principles and concepts of probability with the help of Web-browser-used WBI programs relating to probability and statistics in teaching them the unit of probability. I have come up with the following research problems with a view to applying and analyzing the findings. (1) A web sites in relation to the learning of probability and statistics is to be developed with the second graders of middle school in mind. (2) Is there any difference between the experiment group exposed to web-sites-aided classes and the control group going through the conventional ways of math classes when the sites is made trial use of \ulcorner (3) What response do the learners show in regard to classes which makes use of the web sites when the sites is applied\ulcorner After making an experiment with the aid of the web sites and teaching plans, I made a measurement and an analysis of the academic achievement of the subjects, their understanding of classes based on the web sites, the concentration of the learners, and their responses relating to the contents of web sites concentrating on probability and statistics. I have come to the following conclusions based on the findings. First there was a significant difference between the classes of honor students and the classes of backward pupils when T-Test was made with regard to the achievement of the subjects who divided into the experiment group and the control group. The former made use of the web sites whereas the latter stuck to the conventional way of teaching math. The former scored higher than the latter. Second, the research based on questionnaire findings shows that the web-site-aided experiment classes proved to be more effective than the traditional control classes. All in all, I think that web-aided classes will have a more positive influence on the students' interest in math and on the scholastic achievement of math than conventional classes.

Grief is the ordinarily self-limited complex of symptoms and processes that constitute the acute reaction to a significant loss. And it is the reaction of the dying as well as the bereaved. Every culture has had its own ways of grief and mourning. The definition of healthy grief and mourning, in terms of both emotional expression and the length of time it should continue, mostly depend upon the type of culture as well as the type of religion. So the manner of grief and mourning greatly differs from culture to culture. In the most of the Asian countries, influenced by Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, death is traditionally considered the most significant life cycle transition. In Chinese culture, many rituals have evolved to help family members deal with their loss, over the past five thousand years. Confucianism taught the virtues of filial piety and righteousness. These rules and many customs added since the time of Cofucius, have been loyally followed and practiced by many Asian people. However, Buddhists have different ideas. They believe in karma and reincarnation and in predetermination of one's present life by good or bad deeds in the present life and past lives. Display of uncontrollable emotion is not encouraged. Continuity of family relations after death is very important. The ancient practice of the ancestor worship is still followed in many Asian households. Many Buddhist do not practice ancestor worship; family members honor the deceased by placing a memorial plate in the temple for continued chanting purposes. The mourning rituals have been dramatically curtailed in the past 50 years. For example, political, social and economic forces have shaped the current mourning practices of Chinese in different countries. There are many clinical implications in helping Asian to deal better with the emotional strains of the experience of loss. The therapiest must respect the cultural framework through which the client perceives family losses.

In 2012, Psy's music video 'Gangnam Style' spread through parodies, and gained explosive popularity. In 2016, there was a case so-called as 'baseball ground cheering song' in which a author(songwriters) claimed an infringement of the 'right of integrity' related to cheering songs used by professional baseball teams. In response, the court denied violating the right of integrity in 2019. These cases have different effects depending on whether or not the 'right of integrity' is claimed. This study attempted an economic analysis in addition to a legal analysis of the right of integrity. Korean copyright law regards even simple changes that go against the author's will as a infringement of the 'right of integrity' even if they do not harm honor or reputation. Such legislation is one of the most strongly protected forms in the world, so it cause many problems. Meanwhile, we analyzed the cost-benefit analysis of Psy's 'Gangnam Style' case and the 'baseball ground cheering song' case. As a result of the analysis, the right to integrity is inefficient in quantitative and qualitative aspects. Therefore, the right of integrity should be reconsidered with the focus on 'popular music'. In particular, considering the development of information communication technology and changes, a revision direction is needed to meet the purpose of the copyright act. Furthermore, in order to solve the legal issues under the Copyright Act, the requirement for infringement of the right of integrity should be relaxed. Then, we proposed the establishment of a proviso clause on the right of integrity.

The purpose of this study is to apply iconology to discover the symbolic system of imaginary animals focused on four representative auspicious animals in Korean folk paintings. Study methods included literature review of folk paintings, iconological analytics books, and articles. A total of 16 folk paintings of four auspicious animals in the Joseon Dynasty were analyzed using Panofsky's iconology. The four auspicious animals were Yong(dragon), Bonghwang(the eastern version of the phoenix), Shingoo (divine turtle), and Kirin(one-horned combination of a dragon and horse). According to iconological analysis, Yong is a typical symbol of royal authority, a deity of water as an object of respect with a remarkable talent of transformation, and in iconographical interpretation, represents reverence for transcendent power. Bonhwang is the symbol of a king, sun worship, the emblem of nobility and integrity, and in iconographical interpretation, the psychic bing in the sky. Shingoo is fortune prophecy, longevity and immortality, an envoy of deity, and according to iconographical interpretation, the organic view of the world. Kirin is a divine benign creature, a symbol of talent and honor, mediator between sky and earth, and in iconographical interpretation, an expression of Confucian ideology. This study produced three results. First, the four auspicious animals projected the human hope to overcome human limitations through divine creatures with mythical abilities. Second, they reflected everyday common hopes and values of pursuing fortunes and happiness. Third, the four auspicious animals' iconology was not independent of each other; it seemed to be common to and combined with each other.
