A term of home automation that was in fashion only a few years ago has not been used any more. Nowadays, We have been used a term of home network or digital home than home automation much. While internet infra is diffused at home, data network corp., communication corp., electric appliance corp. and home automation control system corp. which we did not mind each other particularly constructed consortium, and they have designs on home network market. Also, cellular phone's growth tried home networking by using not only wired internet but also broadband wireless communication. Regardless, many solutions are coming out it is few to be applied to real life because the standard is not determined with the protocol each other. Therefore, we developed home network system using USB(Universal Serial Bus) that has the possibility most in home networking standard. The mobile USB home control system is excellent at expansibility and portability. Also we can complete low cost and stable system using an embedded system.

The demand for wireless technology in home automation systems has recently been increasing due to several advantages such as installation cost reduction, easy placement, easy extension, aesthetic benefits, and mobile device connectivity. Among the many wireless technologies, ZigBee is one of the most useful for home automation; a wireless home networking system can be configured using ZigBee alone. Compatibility with conventional home networking systems that are based on wired media, however, is not supported. KNX is a mature protocol for wired media that is recognized as an international standard. This paper proposes a KNX-ZigBee gateway to interface between KNX and ZigBee systems and thereby enable integration of wired and wireless home automation systems.

상황 인식을 통한 지능적인 시스템은 홈 자동화 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 매우 중요한 요소로서 강조된다. 본 논문에서 홈 자동화를 구현하기 위하여 홈 내부에서 일어나는 여러 가지 사건들을 사용자 각각에 대하여 다양한 장치를 이용하여 케이스 별로 수집하여 데이터를 저장하고, 케이스 별로 저장된 데이터를 트레이닝 데이터로 이용하여 신경회로망 알고리즘으로 학습을 시켜서 지능적인 홈 자동화 시스템을 구현한다. 이러한 지능적인 홈 자동화 시스템은 사용자에게 적절한 상황에 적절한 서비스를 스스로 판단하여 제공함으로서 거주자의 편의를 제공할 수 있다.

디지털 시대가 본격화 되면서 가정의 정보가전 기기들이 디지털 가전기기로 바뀌고 이를 하나의 네트워크로 구성하고자 하는 노력들이 홈네트워크(Home Network)와 가정자동화(Home Automation)를 구축하려는 바람으로 일고 있다. 하지만 이 새로운 시스템은 현재의 가정에 도입하기에 엄청난 초기비용과 전문기기의 필요성, 그리고 설치를 위한 까다로운 문제 등 제약사항이 너무나 많다. 또한 가정자동화의 기본 바탕인 자동화 설비기기 의 중요성은 부각되지 않은 채 주요 가전기기의 자동화 기술만 홍보하고 있어 기 건축된 아파트나 가정에서의 가정자동화 시스템의 도입은 다른 세상 이야기와 같다. 본 논문에서는 전문적인 가정자동화기가 아직 갖추어져 있지 않은 범용적인 일반가정에서 PLC 기반의 통신기술을 사용하여 새로운 배선공사 필요 없이 모듈화된 설비기기로의 교체와, 또한 기존의 가전기기를 최대한 활용하여 전용기기 못지않은 가정자동화 시스템을 구축할 수 있는 방향과 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 이로 인해 전체적인 시스템 초기 구축비용 면에서도 저렴해 지고, 쉬운 설치와 사용방법으로 인해 가정자동화 시스템의 보급에 큰 기여를 할 것이다.

We have implement indoor positioning system to supply orientation information, We have used ultrasound in indoor positioning system for distance and orientation measurements, then propose a set of methods to calculate orientation from an array of well placed ultrasonic sensors operating in the indoor positioning system, We have design and implement a indoor positioning system using a combination of hardware and software and demonstrate end-to-end functionality of the system, We have implement ZigBee based home automation system using location-aware System.

오늘날 모듈러 건축 방식으로 주거시설에 대한 설계와 건설이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 모듈러 기반의 주거시설에서는 자유로운 공간의 변형이 필요시 발생하기 때문에 홈 자동화 시스템에 대해서도 새로운 방식의 도입이 필요할 것으로 예상되어진다. 즉 기존의 홈자동화 시스템에서는 사전에 계획된 자동화 설계에 따라 유선 센서들을 기반으로 개발되어지고 있는데 공간의 변화가 이루어지는 모듈러 방식에서는 기존의 고정이면서 유선 방식의 센서 기반의 자동화 시스템은 적합하지 않을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 모듈러 건축 방식에서는 역동적인 공간 변화에 따라 필요 센서들의 수와 종류가 변화고 센서의 위치도 변화기 때문에 이러한 다양한 변경 요소를 자동적으로 받아들여 홈자동화 시스템을 구축하는 시스템이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모듈러 건축 방식으로 구축된 주거시설에서 센서 인식을 자동으로 할 수 있고, 사용자 인터페이스를 자동으로 생성하여 변화하는 공간에 적응하는 홈자동화 시스템을 연구 개발하였다.

본 논문에서는 마이크로 컨트롤러를 사용한 다기능 스위치에 대하여 설명한다. 21세기 정보화 시대에 발 맞추어 산업 현장에서는 공장 자동화를 더불어 가정에서는 흠 자동화 시스템이 확산되고 있다. 공장 자동화 및 홈 자동화를 구현하기 위해서 컴퓨터의 사용은 불가피하다. 따라서 사용자와 컴퓨터간 인터페이스 기술과 컴퓨터와 제품간 인터페이스 기술을 요하게 된다. 본 논문의 다기능 스위치는 자동화 시스템 구현에 필요한 인터페이스를 제공해 준다. 또한 마이크로 컨트롤러가 탑재되어 있기 때문에 독립적으로 사용할 수 있다. 따라서 가정에서 간단한 홈 자동화를 구현 할 수 있으며 산업현장에서는 간단한 시퀀스 제어를 이용한 자동화 시스템에 사용될 수 있다. 또한 각종 시스템에 복합적으로 또는 독립적으로 사용이 가능하다.

본 연구에서 개발한 홈 자동화 시스템은 임베디드 시스템에 LabVIEW PDA 모듈을 사용해 원거리 제어가 가능하고, PDA 장비 프로그래밍이 가능한 데모 장비이다. 모든 작동 프로그램은 LabVIEW로 이루어져 있다. 또한, 각 임베디드 시스템은 개인용 PC와의 배선 없이 스스로 동작하는 모드로 이루어져 있다. 이 홈 자동화 시스템은 무선 랜(802.11b)을 통한 PDA의 LabVIEW에 의해서 통제된다.

본 논문에서는 Home Automation을 위한 하드웨어와 제어용 프로그램의 개발에 목적을 두었다. Home Automation에 쓰인 하드웨어 부분에서는 8051 마이크로 컨트롤러를 사용했다. 본 논문에서 가장 중요한 부분은 플랜트끼리의 통신 알고리즘이며, 일반 가정용 IBM PC의 USB 포트를 이용한 화상 전달방법이다. 화상 전달에 필요한 DLL부분은 C++로 제작되었으며 전체적인 제어용 프로그램은 비주얼툴인 Visual Basic으로 제작하였다. 하드웨어는 각각의 플랜트에 따라 각각의 구동부가 있으며 몇몇 구동부에는 다중 통신을 위한 8051 마이크로 프로세서가 있다. 이 모든 장치의 데이터 흐름을 알 수 있도록 PC를 통해 디스플레이하며 PC와 직렬 통신을 통해 이 모든 것이 이루어진다.

This study proposes the method seeking out the user needs for the home automation systems which are one of the compositions of digital home. The findings are as follows. (1) The designing of digital home should be based on the residents' daily life and the their needs for the future house prior to the digital technology, (2) The IT Apartments recently developed in Busan set up the safety and security system and the automatic ventilation system mostly. (3) The residents are more concerned of the safety and security and the comfortable interior environment than convenience and entertainments. (4) The residents have diverse needs for the home automation systems according to their age, residential experience and occupation.
