가로세로비 1:1.5를 가진 한국 전통 지연의 방구멍에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Center Hole of Korean Traditional Kite with Aspect Ratio 1:1.5)

  • 한국 전통 지연은 장방형으로 그 가운데 방구멍을 가진 특이한 형태를 갖고 있다. FLUENT 코드를 사용하여, 가로세로비 1:1.5인 한국 전통 지연에 작용하는 공기역학적 힘들을 수치적으로 계산하였다. 다양한 직경의 방구멍에 대하여 연의 비행을 시뮬레이션하여, 방구멍의 역할과 방구멍 크기에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. 방구멍은 연싸움에서 연실의 빠른 되감기로 인한 장력의 급격한 상승을 완화시켜 주는 역할을 함으로써, 연실을 더 빨리 되감을 수 있게 한다. 방구멍의 적절한 직경은 가로 폭의 1/3이다.

  • Atomization speed of diesel fuel injected from 8-hole nozzle is faster than that of 7-hole nozzle because the hole diameter of 8-hole nozzle is smaller than that of 7-hole nozzle. But both insufficient distance between the fuel sprays and short penetration of injected sprays through 8-hole nozzle hole cause many harmful effects on combustion. In this study, we installed the 8-hole injectors to diesel 2.0 liter class engine, and optimized in-cylinder swirl and penetration via selecting and matching proper cylinder head and combustion bowl. Through this process, we found out the performance and emission potential of 8-hole nozzle installed engine are better than those of 7-hole nozzle installed one.

  • In this paper, we propose a tube-hole center detection vision algorithm verifying the position of a tele-controlled robot and providing visual information for increasing reliability and efficiency in the diagnosis of steam generator (SG) tubes in nuclear power plant. A tele-controlled robot plays a role in carrying the probe used in inspecting the integrity of SG tubes. Thus accurately locating a tele-controlled robot on the desired tube-hole center is important issue for reliability of inspection. To do this work, we have to find the tube-hole center locations from the input image. At first, we apply the three-class segmentation method modified for this application. WE extract minimum bounding rectangles (MBRs) in the theresholded binary image. Second, for discriminating between MBR by tube and MBR by noise, we introduce the MBR rejection rules as knowledge-based rule set. MBRs are divided into the very dark region MBRs and the very bright region MBRs. In order to describe the region of complete tube-hole, the MBRs need a process of pairing each other. We then can find the tube-hole center from the paired MBR. For more accurately finding the tube-hole center in several sequential images, the centers of some frames need to be averaged. We tested the performance of our method using hundreds of real images.

  • This paper presents experimental results for the confining characteristics of cylinder with center-hole and spiral reinforcements. The experiments have been conducted for the specimens with primary variables i.e., spiral reinforcement ratio and diameter of center-hole which affect the compressive strength and stress-strain relationship. Through this research, it was found that the compressive strength and ductility were increased with the ratio of spiral reinforcement because the lateral expansion of the concrete inside the spiral was restrained by the spiral, but dependent on the size of center-hole.

  • 경계요소법에 의하여 U자형 홈(groove)을 가진 평판이 측면 분포하중을 받을 때 끝부에 위치할 원형 Hole의 최적 위치의 해석을 행하고 동일한 모델(model)에 대하여 실험결과를 비교하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻게 되었다. 1. 원형 Hole이 U자형 홈(groove)에 가까이 접근하게 됨에 따라 초기의 원형 Hole은 c.-c.선에 수직방향이 그 장축이 되는 타원형으로 변화됨을 알 수 있다. 2. 원형 Hole이 U-groove에 접근함에 따라 Hole 과 Groove 사이의 Neck부는 그 횡단면응력이 인장 및 압축이 동시에 존재하다가 점점 전체가 인장역이 됨을 알 수 있다. 3. 원형 Hole이 Groove에 접근함에 따라 판재경계와 Hole 사이의 목(neck)부분은 계속적인 압축상태를 유지한다. 4. U-groove쪽의 Neck area의 응력분포는 그 최대응력치가 Hole로 접근함에 따라 가속적으로 증가하고 Hole의 찌그러짐(distortion)의 방지를 위한 Hole의 최적중심의 위치는 Neck부의 Hole 측면의 압축응력치가 0이 되지 않는 범위가 한계임을 알 수 있다.

신경망 기법을 이용한 1축 잔류응력장에서 구멍뚫기법의 구멍편심 오차 보정 (Compensation of the Error due to Hole Eccentricity of Hole-drilling Method in Uniaxile Residual Stress Field Using Neural Network)

  • The measurement of residual stresses by the hole-drilling method has been commonly used to evaluate residual stresses in structural members. In this method, eccentricity can usually occur between the hole center and rosette gage center. In this study, the error due to the hole eccentricity is compensated using the neural network. The neural network has trained training examples of normalized eccentricity, eccentric direction and direction of maximum stress at eccentric case using backpropagation learning process. The trained neural network could compensated the error of measured residual stress in experiments with hole eccentricity. The proposed neural network is very useful for compensation of the error due to hole eccentricity in hole-drilling method.

Modeling and Investigation of Multilayer Piezoelectric Transformer with a Central Hole for Heat Dissipation

  • A multilayer square-type piezoelectric transformer with a hole at the center was investigated in this paper. Temperature distribution at the center was improved by using this construction, therefore increasing input voltage and output power. This model was simulated and investigated successfully by applying a finite element method (FEM) in ATILA software. An optimized structure was then fabricated, examined, and compared to the simulation results. Electrical characteristics, including output voltage and output power, were measured at different load resistances. The temperature distribution was also monitored using an infrared camera. The piezoelectric transformer operated at first radial vibration mode and a frequency area of 70 kHz. The 16 W output power was achieved in a three-layer transformer with 96% efficiency and $20^{\circ}C$ temperature rise from room temperature under 115 V driving voltage, 100 ${\Omega}$ matching load, $28{\times}28{\times}1.8mm$ size, and 2 mm hole diameter. With these square-type multilayer piezoelectric transformers, the temperature was concentrated around the hole and lower than in piezoelectric transformers without a hole.

  • This paper provides a guideline for the determination of compliance characteristics and the proper location of the compliance center in typical peg-in-hole and peg-out-hole tasks using hands. We first observe the fact that some of coupling stiffness elements cannot be planned arbitrarily. The given peg-in/out-hole tasks are classified into two contact styles. Then, we analyze concluded of the operational siffness matrix, which achieve the give peg-in/out-hole tasks effectively for each case. It is concluded that the location of the compliance center on the peg and the coupling stiffness element existing between the translational and the rotational direction play ompliance on the peg and the coupling siffness element existing between the translational and the rotational direction play important roles for successful peg-in/out-hole tasks. The analytic results verified through simulations.

Via-hole 구조의 n-접합을 갖는 수직형 발광 다이오드 전극 설계에 관한 연구 (Study on the Electrode Design for an Advanced Structure of Vertical LED)

  • 최근 Light Emitting Diode (LED)의 효율을 높이기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. 특히 소자 측면에서는 수평형 LED, 수직형 LED, via-hole 구조의 수직형 LED 등의 다양한 구조가 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션을 통해 via-hole 구조의 수직형 LED의 새로운 전극 디자인을 제시하였다. 기존 Via-hole 구조의 수직형 LED의 n-contact hole 주변에 전류가 밀집되는 문제점을 해결하면서 유효 발광면적을 극대화 시켜 소자 전체에 균일한 전류를 주입할 수 있는 소자 디자인에 대해 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 최적의 전극 디자인을 실제 디바이스로 제작하여 기존의 via-hole 구조의 수직형 LED와 비교 분석하였다. 최적화된 디자인이 적용된 via hole type 수직형 LED의 경우 기존 디자인에 비해 350 mA 주입시 약 0.2 V의 Forward Voltage 감소하였지만 광 출력은 비슷하여 최종적으로 4.2%의 WPE (Wall plug efficiency)가 향상됨을 보였다.
