Micromachining technology using a ultra-precision micromachining system is widely applied in the fields of optics, biotechnology and analytical chemistry, etc. specially in microfabrication of fresnel lens, light guide panels of TFT-LED and PDP ribs with micro-patterns, machining errors have an effect on the performance of those products. The deflection of tool and tool holder is known to be one of the very important factors that is due to machining errors in micromachining. The deflections of diamond tool and tool holder used in micro-grooving are analysed by FEM. We analysed by FEM. With an linearity valuation of FEM, deflection of tool and tool holder is calculated by using the data of cutting force which is acquired from micro-V groove machining experiments in micromachining system.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to present an appropriate sampling method for individual exposure assessment based on a comparison of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) concentrations collected through different sampling methods by work process type. Methods: Two plants handling TDIs in the Incheon area were selected. The samplings were taken during respective processes of spray painting, drying, grinding, and foaming, in which the production of TDIs took on different forms. For the sampling methods for airborne TDIs, open-face cassette holder, modified 2-piece cassette holder, and impinger were used, and the sampling was performed simultaneously at the same locations. Results: The comparison of TDI collection concentrations by each process depending on the sampling method showed high concentrations in the order of the impinger, modified 2-piece cassette holder, and open-face cassette holder for spray painting and foaming. In all processes with the exception of drying, TDI collection concentrations were higher for sampling done with the modified 2-piece cassette holder than with the open-face cassette holder. Conclusions: Based on these results, the modified 2-piece cassette holder was found to be a more appropriate sampling method than the open-face cassette holder when taking individual samples of TDIs from spray painting, grinding, and foaming processes. In particular, for individual exposure assessment of the spray painting process, which features comparatively high collection concentrations compared to the other processes, the use of a modified 2-piece cassette holder is considered appropriate.
In this paper, a Holder exponent, a measure of the degree to which a signal is differentiable, is presented to detect the presence of a discontinuity and when the discontinuity occurs in a dynamic signal. This discontinuity detection has potential applications to structural health monitoring because discontinuities are often introduced into dynamic response data as a result of certain types of damage. Wavelet transforms are incorporated with the Holder exponent to capture the time varying nature of discontinuities, and a classification procedure is developed to quantify when changes in the Holder exponent are significant. The proposed Holder exponent analysis is applied to various experimental signals to reveal underlying damage causing events from the signals. Signals being analyzed include acceleration response of a mechanical system with a rattling internal part, acceleration signals of a three-story building model with a loosing bolt, and strain records of an in-situ bridge during construction. The experimental results presented in this paper demonstrate that the Holder exponent can be an effective tool for identifying certain types of events that introduce discontinuities into the measured dynamic response data.

The unstable characteristic values of communication signals along with the varying SNR (Signal Noise Ratio) environment make it difficult to identify the modulations of signals. Most of relevant literature revolves around signal recognition under stable SNR, and not applicable for signal recognition at varying SNR. To solve the problem, this research developed a novel communication signal recognition algorithm based on Holder coefficient and cloud theory. In this algorithm, the two-dimensional (2D) Holder coefficient characteristics of communication signals were firstly calculated, and then according to the distribution characteristics of Holder coefficient under varying SNR environment, the digital characteristics of cloud model such as expectation, entropy, and hyper entropy are calculated to constitute the three-dimensional (3D) digital cloud characteristics of Holder coefficient value, which aims to improve the recognition rate of the communication signals. Compared with traditional algorithms, the developed algorithm can describe the signals' features more accurately under varying SNR environment. The results from the numerical simulation show that the developed 3D feature extraction algorithm based on Holder coefficient cloud features performs better anti-noise ability, and the classifier based on interval gray relation theory can achieve a recognition rate up to 84.0%, even when the SNR varies from -17dB to -12dB.

This paper presents the optimized approximation of finite element modeling for a complex tool holder spindle using both DOE (Design of Experiment) with Optimal Latin Hypercube (OLH) method and approximation modeling method with Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network structure. The complex tool holder is used for holding a (milling/drilling) tool of a machine tool. The engineering problem of complex tool holder results from the twisting of spindle of tool holder. For this purpose, we present the optimized approximation of finite element modeling for a complex tool holder spindle using both DOE (Design of Experiment) with Optimal Latin Hypercube (OLH) method (specifically a module of $iSight^{(R)}$ FD-3.1) and approximation modeling method with Radial Basis Function (RBF) (another module of $iSight^{(R)}$ FD-3.1) neural network structure

Fine blanking is a process of press shearing which makes it possible to produce the thick sheet metal of the finished surface and the close dimensional accuracy over the whole material thickness in the single blanking operation. In this paper, a plate holder of automotive seat recliner is manufactured by FCF(Flow Control Forming) method using the conventional mechanical press instead of the fine blanking press. Main processes for manufacturing of the plate holder by FCF method are embossing, half blanking and trimming processes. Optimal clearance, stripper force and counter force to increase the dimensional accuracy of the plate holder have been investigated by FE-analysis. As a result of FE-analysis, the clearance for both embossing and half blanking processes was -2%t and the forces of stripper and counter were 25ton and 15ton, respectively. After manufacturing the plate holder by FCF method, the measured dimensional characteristics have been compared with the required specifications as the final product. Although the dimensional accuracy of the plate holder manufactured by FCF method was a little inferior to that by fine blanking process, it was satisfactory in a general sense.

Joint structure of a transducer horn-holder assembly fur a wire bonder was examined through FEM contact analysis. A three dimensional modeling and analysis was carried out to survey the internal physics of this structure and to prove the accuracy of a computation compared to a measurement. After validation, a simple two dimensional model was built fur various parametric study considering the efficiency and speed of the computation. Several factors such as boundary conditions, a modeling boundary, mesh density and so on, were considered to obtain consistency with three dimensional analysis. An arc angle and a position of each holder boss were chosen as design parameters. A design of experiment was applied to find out an optimized design of the holder geometry. As a result, a guideline for holder boss design was suggested and main factors and their influence on stress concentration in the transducer horn were surveyed.

Purpose : To evaluate the usefulness of the handmade patient immobilization device and to report the clinical results of it. Materials and methods : We made two fusion images and analyzed those images. One image is made with diagnostic MR image and CT image, the other with therapeutic planning MR image and CT image. With open head holder, we measured the skin dose and attenuation dose. Also, we made the planning CT couch plate with acrylic plate and styrofoam and compared artifact. Results : We could get more accurate fusion image when we use MR head holder(within 2mm error). The skin dose was reduced 2 times and the attenuation dose was reduced more than $20\%$ when open head holder used. The planning CT couch plate was more convenient than conventional board and reduced artifact remarkably. Conclusion : We could verify the localization point in the MR image which is taken with MR head holder. So we could fuse the image more accurately. The same method could be applied to PET and US image, if the alike immobilization device used. With open head holder, the skin dose and the attenuation dose was reduced. And those above devices could substitute for expensive foreign device, if those are manufactured adequately.
In this paper, based on large deviation probabilities on Gaussian random vectors, we obtain Strassen's functional LIL for d-dimensional self-similar Gaussian process in Holder norm via estimating large deviation probabilities for d-dimensional self-similar Gaussian process in Holder norm.
We extend the Holder-McCarthy inequality for a positive and an arbitrary operator, respectively. The powers of each inequality are given and the improved Reid's inequality by Halmos is generalized. We also give the bound of the Holder-McCarthy inequality by recursion.
