  • Purpose: To explore the usefulness of previous fall history as a triage variable for inpatients. Methods: Medical records of 21,382 patients, admitted to medical units of one tertiary hospital, were analyzed retrospectively. Inpatient falls were identified from the hospital's self-report system. Non-falls in 1,125 patients were selected by a stratified matching sampling with 125 patients with falls (0.59%). A comparative and predictive accuracy analysis was conducted to describe differences between the two groups with and without a history of falls. Logistic regression was used to measure the effect size of the fall history. Results: The fall history group showed higher prevalence by 9 fold than the non-fall history group. The relationships between falls and relevant variables which were significant in the non-fall history group, were not significant for the fall history group. Falls in the fall history group were 25 times more likely than in the non-fall group. Predictive accuracy of the risk assessment tool showed almost zero specificity in the fall history group. Conclusion: The presence of fall history, the fall prevalence, variables relevant to falls, and the accuracy of the risk tool were different, which support the usefulness of the fall history as a triage variable.

  • Display and art have different purposes. But they share a common mean, so-called artistic experience. These two formative business that seeks the profit as a commercial design, it has some relationship with art in the aspect of socialization of pursuit of aesthetics. Although the historical status and directivity of display have not been established systemiically yet, and aesthetic expansion of displace is uncertain it would be effective that the present and future of display art is connected with art history in the view of dynamic state of art history. In this thesis, the issues such as what is the relationship between display and art history or whether display can be mentioned as a formative art were analyzed by matching them with the trends in art history like naturalism, high tech, minimalists and so on. Modern display is a commercial design that can be developed in various ways and that is related to the as development of art history.

  • This paper reports the application of radiocarbon wiggle-matching for Korean wooden artifacts such as buildings and Buddhist statues for precise dating. Nine quinquennial (every five-year) samples of 41 years (AD 1250-1290) for AMS radiocarbon measurements were prepared from a wooden board used for the Main Hall at Jeongsusa (temple) in Kangwhado, Korea, which was dendrochronologically dated. The 95.4% confidence interval of radiocarbon dating prior to wiggle matching was 113.3 year in average. When wiggle-matching technique was applied, it became 20 years, 5.7 times smaller than that produced without wiggle matching. The results indicated that wiggle-matching technique using the calibration curve for northern hemisphere (IntCal04) can produce precise dates for Korean wooden artifacts, at least, for the $13^{th}$ century.

  • The exchange of parameterized feature-based CAD models is important for product data sharing among different organizations and automation systems. The role of feature-based modeling is to gonerate the shape of product and capture design intends In a CAD system. A feature is generated by referring to topological entities in a solid. Identifying referenced topological entities of a feature is essential for exchanging feature-based CAD models through a neutral format. If the CAD data contains the modification history in addition to the construction history, a matching mechanism is also required to find the same entity in the new model (post-edit model) corresponding to the entity in the old model (preedit model). This problem is known as the persistent naming problem. There are additional problems arising from the exchange of parameterized feature-based CAD models. Authors have analyzed previous studies with regard to persistent naming and characteristics for the exchange of parameterized feature-based CAD models, and propose a solution to the persistent naming problem. This solution is comprised of two parts: (a) naming of topological entities based on the object spore information (OSI) and secondary name (SN); and (b) name matching under the proposed naming.

  • Recommender Systems (RecSys) have a major role in e-commerce for recommending products, which they may like for every user and thus improve their business aspects. Although many types of RecSyss are there in the research field, the state of the art RecSys has focused on finding the user similarity based on sequence (e.g. purchase history, movie-watching history) analyzing and prediction techniques like Recurrent Neural Network in Deep learning. That is RecSys has considered as a sequence prediction problem. However, evaluation of similarities among the customers is challenging while considering temporal aspects, context and multi-component ratings of the item-records in the customer sequences. For addressing this issue, we are proposing a Deep Learning based model which learns customer similarity directly from the sequence to sequence similarity as well as item to item similarity by considering all features of the item, contexts, and rating components using Dynamic Temporal Warping(DTW) distance measure for dynamic temporal matching and 2D-GRU (Two Dimensional-Gated Recurrent Unit) architecture. This will overcome the limitation of non-linearity in the time dimension while measuring the similarity, and the find patterns more accurately and speedily from temporal and spatial contexts. Experiment on the real world movie data set LDOS-CoMoDa demonstrates the efficacy and promising utility of the proposed personalized RecSys architecture.

  • We performed case-control study to evaluate relationship between food intake and risk of breast cancer. We interviewed breast cancer cases(n=108) who were newly histologically identified and selected from Hanyang and Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Seoul. We used hospital-based control subjects(n=121), who were selected from the patients in the department of plastic surgery, general surgery and opthalmology of the same hospital by frequency matching. Matching variables were age($\pm$4 age) and menopausal status. We collected information on general characteristics of subjects, history of disease, family history of breast cancer, vitamin supplementation, alcohol intake, and food intake through individual interview. Dietary information was ascertained via a food frequency questionnaire method(total item=98). All analyses was conducted according to menopausal status. Especially, pepper and grape intake in premenopausal women, showed protective effect in breast cancer. Otherwise consumption of meat, pork, and fish was not associated with breast cancer risk in this study. At milk and dairy products, milk intake was associated with lower risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women and overall intake of soy products was associated with breast cancer risk, but not significant. These findings suggested that consumption of some fruit and vegetable intake was a protective factor on breast cancer and further study with more number of subjects should be need to evaluate the breast cancer risk. • The main goal of this paper is to determine hydraulic properties and to predict drawdown for the efficient and stable development of groundwater in the Daejong-Chun area, North of Kyungsang-Do. Based on geological survey and analysis of well logging data conducted in 1991, it is found that the type of aquifer of this area is considered to be an anisotropic unconfined aquifer with saturated thickness of 19.8 m. In order to characterize this aquifer pumping test was conducted, and the resulting drawdown data were utilized for the analysis by applying both type curve matching technique and semi-log straight line method. As a result, the average specific yield of this aquifer is estimated as 32.3%, and the average ratio of $K_H$ to $K_V$ is only 2.7, which means that gravitational effect is not significant factor for this type of aquifer. For the validation of the estimated hydraulic properties, the analytical model which was developed with Newton-Raphson iteration procedure in this study, was employed to generate the drawdown. And, the resulting drawdown was compared against actual drawdown data and it shows the excellent matches. The actual drawdown data for 9 hours of pumping were used for history matching purposes and relatively satisfactory matches were achieved in this match. Then, the model was run by using the tuned parameters that are obtained during history matching stage, and the drawdown was predicted for the next 30 years of pumping with $3,000m^3/day$ of constant pumping rate. Its result indicates that the drawdown was stabilized as 1.41 m from 20 days with $3,000m^3/day$ of constant pumping rate, which is the required amount of water to be safely supplied to this area.

  • Objective: The purposes of this study are to know the relations of abdominal obesity and ischemic stroke and to know what index could represent the abdominal obesity appropriately. Methods. We have done case-control study and recruited 97 ischemic stroke patients and 117 controls. Case is matched by control by individual matching. All participants had questionnaire, interview and then were examined waist-hip ratio, waist circumference and body mass index. Results : WC, WHR and Hypertension history had differences in two groups, case and control groups. But BMI and other factors weren't significant. According to Quartile of Waist Circumference, the two groups had the differences in hypertension history, diabetes history, smoking status, WHR, BMI, and weight and in the Quartile of Waist-Hip Ratio Quartile, past history of hypertension and diabetes, WC, BMI and weight had the significances. Sex, Age Adjusted and Multivariate Odds Ratio (95% Confidence Interval) of WC Quartile are 2.083, 1.628, 4.491 and 4.418, 4.964, 12.306, and in WHR, the Ors are 2.252, 5.743, 15.776 and 2.632, 8.918, 23.596. Conclusions: We knew from these results that abdominal obesity is very important risk factor of ischemic stroke and WHR more than WC is a good indicator of abdominal obesity, so we should reduce the WHR to prevent of ischemic stroke.

  • Due to the improvement of the seismic hazard analysis method and the design code, dynamic analysis method is widely used. To conduct dynamic analysis, various coefficients should be designated. The time history acceleration is one of the most essential factor. However, strong earthquake motion data from the outside of the country have been used to conduct dynamic analysis without considering of the ground motion parameters. In this study, the methodology to choose appropriate input motion is developed by using time domain design spectrum matching procedure. Two examples are applied to verify the methodology. The Result shows that the methodology satisfies seismic circumstances and the design code.
