This study was conducted to evaluate the structural stability of a CNC automatic lathe structure and avoid resonance. The analysis conditions were analyzed by applying the weight of the upper assembly. From the structural analysis, the stress and deformation were low, and the safety factor was high. From the dynamic characteristic analysis, it was determined that resonance does not occur because the natural frequency is outside the driving range. The error between the dynamic characteristic analysis and vibration test results is very low; thus, the reliability of the analysis results can be secured.

In this study, the photolithography process was chosen to reduce the aspect ratio of the cross-section of a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tape by dividing the superconducting layer of the tape. Reducing the aspect ratio decreases the magnetization losses in the second-generation HTS tapes generated by AC magnetic fields. The HTS tape used in the experiment has a thin silver (Ag) layer of about 2 ㎛ on top of the REBCO superconducting layer and no additional stabilizer layer. A dry film resist (DFR) was laminated on top of the HTS tape by a lamination method for the segmentation. Exposure to a 395 nm UV lamp on a patterned mask cures the DFR. Dipping with a 1% Na2CO3 solution was followed to develop the uncured film side and to obtain the required pattern. The silver and superconducting layers of the REBCO films were cleaned with an acid solution after the etching. Finally, the segmented HTS tape was completed by stripping the DFR film with acetone.
The high-tech industry, a leader in the national economy, has a larger investment cost compared to general buildings, a shorter construction period, and requires continuous investment. Therefore, accurate construction cost prediction and quick decision-making are important factors for efficient cost and process management. Overseas, the construction information classification system has been standardized since 1980 and has been continuously developed, improving construction productivity by systematically collecting and utilizing project life cycle information. At domestic construction sites, attempts have been made to standardize the classification system of construction information, but it is difficult to achieve continuous standardization and systematization due to the absence of a standardization body and differences in cost and process management methods for each construction company. Particular, in the case of the high-tech industry, the standardization and systematization level of the construction information classification system for high-tech facility construction is very low due to problems such as large scale, numerous types of work, complex construction and security. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to construct a construction information classification system suitable for high-tech facility construction through collection, classification, and analysis of related project data constructed in Korea. Based on the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) classified and analyzed through this study, a code system through hierarchical classification was proposed, and the cost model of buildings by linking WBS and CBS was three-dimensionalized and the utilized method was presented. Through this, an information classification system based on inter-relationships can be developed beyond the one-way tree structure, which is a general construction information classification system, and effects such as shortening of construction period and cost reduction will be maximized.

The present study develops a method for directly measuring the temperature field in the primary deformation zone with a high spatial resolution during 2-D orthogonal machining. This is enabled by the use of a high-speed, charge-coupled device (CCD) based, infra-red (IR) imaging system which allows characteristics of the temperature field such as the location and magnitude of the highest temperature and temperature gradient in the primary deformation zone to be identified. Based on these data, the relation between the machining temperature and the cutting conditions is investigated.
This paper highlights how Thailand upgrades its positions in global value chains in high-tech, mid-tech and low-tech industries represented by electronics, automotive and frozen seafood, respectively. In the electronics industry, there are not many capable firms in the upstream segment like semiconductors. Nevertheless, transnational corporations in segment like hard disk drive began to invest in process R&D and collaborate more with local suppliers, universities and public research institutes in human resource and technological development. In the automotive industry, several Japanese car manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Isuzu set up R&D/Technical centres in Thailand since 2000s. This prompted Japanese and local part suppliers to also invest more in engineering, design and development activities. Some local universities offer as well engineering programmes specifically targeting the automotive industry. In the frozen seafood industry, several Thai firms have developed new ready-to-eat products, own brands and international distribution networks. They started to become transnational corporations investing in both developing and developed countries.
Recently, various platforms of education technology (Edu-Tech) that use artificial intelligence have been developed in the field of mathematics education. The case study in this paper reports the learning experience of a high school student who was directed to learn mathematics through the self-directed learning process provided by a mathematics learning platform using Edu-Tech with the intervention of mentoring provided by his teacher. The study found that the mentoring intervention could make an effective contribution to student's mathematics learning by playing the role of an auxiliary tool for the self-directed learning over time. In this paper, we explain the nature of the challenges that the student encountered in the process of self-directed learning and the roles that the teacher mentoring has played in this process.
An ultra wide band ultra-high frequency (UHF) signal processing module was designed for on-line UHF partial discharge (PD) monitoring systems for gas-insulated switchgears (GIS). Major advantage of the unit is an improved PD detection sensitivity through minimizing the effect of surrounding interference signals. The detection sensitivity of the unit was <-60 dBm that is sufficient to detect UHF PD signals as low as 1 pC. Precise detection of PD occurred in the GIS, due to internal defects, is possible by using the signal processing unit.

Recent trends for the miniaturization and weight reduction of portable electronic parts is the use of subminiature components. Assembly of the miniaturized components requires subminiature screws of which pitch sizes are in a micrometer scale. To produce such a subminiature screw with high precision threads, not only a precision forming technology but also high-precision measurement technique is required. In the present work, a vision inspection system is developed to measure the thread profile of a subminiature screw. Optical simulation based on a ray tracing method is used to design and analyze the optical system of the vision inspection apparatus. Through this simulation, optical performance of the developed vision inspection system is optimized. The image processing algorithm for the precision screw inspection is also discussed.
Purpose - This paper examines customers' perception on intra-industry and inter-industry alliance, then compares customer purchasing attitude towards alliance product according to whether it is from high-tech or low-tech industry. Research design, data, and methodology - We used qualitative research methodology of in-depth interviews and focus group interviews. Results - Customers expect products from inter-industry alliance to be highly innovative but also to be inferior in technology. In high-tech industries, since technology is more important than differentiation, inter-industry alliance was negatively evaluated whereas intra-industry alliance elicited positive customer purchasing attitude. Conversely, in low-tech industry where novelty outweighs technology, inter-industry alliance earned positive evaluation. However, for intra-industry alliance, customers' evaluation varied depending on whether both partners share similar prestige and price range. When partners were not similar to each other, customers' perception were positive for less prestigious and pricey brand, but in the reverse case, perception were negative. Conclusions - This research focused on customers' perception and attitude by adopting qualitative methodology while other alliance studies are mostly based on quantitative research. This study provides managers with partner selecting guidelines considering the type of industry, and whether the goal is to enhance novelty or technology.
To evaluate insulating properties of polyimide thin film on high temperature over $100\;^{\circ}C$, polyimide film were prepared by electrophoretic deposition onto metal surface from nonaqueous emulsion. The emulsion is made by adding a solution of the resin to a precipitant, which is an organic liquid compeltely miscible with the solvent of the organic resin solution, but which does not dissolve the resin. The polyimide film obtained by annealing shows good insulation properties of 5.8 MV/cm at elevated temperature and breakdown strength of the film reveals thickness dependence.
