일반적으로 도시철도는 단거리를 짧은 운전시격으로 운행하는 특징을 가진 도시내 교통수단으로 요즘의 도시철도는 운영자의 요구에 따라 기관사가 없는 무인운전을 채택하는 추세이다. 이에 비해 일반 고속철도는 장거리 운행을 위하여 고속으로 운행하는 철도를 말한다. 일반 고속철도에는 도시철도와는 다르게 화물열차의 운행이라는 특수한 운행조건이 존재하며, 운영방식이 매우 다른 특성을 보이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 도시철도와 일반 고속철도의 운영방식을 비교하고 무선기반 열차제어시스템을 일반 고속철도에 적용하기 위한 조건을 제시하였다.

The Design manual for adjusting the capacity and LOS of facilities has been shared in urban railways and high-speed railway stations. However, the pattern of urban railways users and those of high-speed railway users are different from each other. For an example, the high-speed railway users tend to carry voluminous luggages and the transportation disadvantaged such as children and the elderlies. Accordingly, we see that the scale of facilities and the station itself should be constructed differently. The transfer facilities in the high-speed railway stations are classified widely into walking assisting facilities and convenient facilities. We invented the concept of PME(Pedestrian Moving Equivalent) and PWE(Pedestrian Waiting Equivalent)for the spatial calculation of those who are with wheeled luggages, back packs, and children to reflect the uniqueness of users in high-speed railway stations. These equivalents have been applied to the design of the facilities to asses the new Capacity and LOS that are users' favored.

Studied was a strategic plan for the Korean High-Speed Train system to penetrate the Chinese railway market in exchange of the technology of KHST. Firstly, taken was a glance at Chinese Government plans to extend total length of his railway lines and to construct the $Beijing\~Shanghai$ high-speed railway line. Then, disparity of railway technology in Korea and China was reviewed. From the review, SWOT Analysis were carried out to penetrate the foreign markets. Countermeasures to cope with SWOT were also considered. Strategical governmental supports and the establishment of the special organization to be charge of penetration of KHST into foreign markets were proposed. Finally, also proposed was the transfer of KHST technology to Chinese counterparts in exchange of tangible benefits for Korean side, The benefits may include (1) adoption of KHST as the type of rolling stock for the $Beijing\~Shanghai$ line, (2) guarantee of participation in the project and royalty for the KHST technology used for the future high-speed railway line construction. (3) prior written approval and partnership when making its way to third country, and (4) participation of Korean construction companies in Chinese railway construction project. etc. Adoption of KHST in China indeed gives chance to integrate the high-speed railway network after reunification of Korean peninsular, and enhance the economic ties between two countries.

Generally speaking, the uniqueness of Korea for the high-speed railway rolling-stock is mainly perceived through the travel over the high-speed electric railway by passengers, which consists of the organization of space in the coach and its interior design. For such purpose, it is necessary to build a series of independent cultures with high-speed railway i.e. to have the development of design technologies oriented to harmonizing human beings, their society and culture with the systematic integration of production technologies to support the culture and its substructure foundation which constitute the frame of superstructure in the society, by defining the relationships with travelers on the high-speed railway as well as enhancing the comfort and convenience of high-speed railway through drawing up the development of links with the systematic integration among lines of technologies on the basis of 'User Train Interface. This thesis aims at introducing the study carried out to build the evaluation standards of performance outputs for 'HEMU-400X rolling-stock Design' derived from the performance for the first year in the research 'Development of Technologies for the Next-Generation High-Speed Railway' as part of "Development Project for the Future Railway Technologies" from 2007.

Railway noise is one of the main causes of environmental impact. Whenever a new railway line is planned or a housing project near an existing railway is proposed, an estimate of the relevant levels is usually required. For this, it is necessary to quantify those parameters that affect the railway noise. Therefore we investigated the noise and vibration level which 107 high speed trains generated passing through the block of test railway track between Chunan and Chungwon. This paper presents the status and characteristics of the high speed railway noise and an accurate prediction of the high speed railway noise.

To improve the riding comfort and to increase the speed of high-speed railway, it needs active suspension system for railway more and more. In Korea, Korean Train Express (KTX) was opened to commercial traffic 2years ago. Korea High-speed Railway (HSR 350x) is being developed and succeeded 350km/h test run. With the increase of the speed, the vibration control of the high-speed railway becomes important to meet high ride quality. In this paper, we suggest the install of lateral damper to HSR 350x. The result shows better ride quality.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a method to support decision making of researchers, when we estimate the safety of the high-speed railway using F-AHP. To apply this method, Korean type of high-speed railway was engaged, and the 8 Stages of accident type and the five criteria were suggested that we must meet. Then, the interview with the researchers working for high-speed railway was used to confirm the alternatives suggested. The employed F-AHP for this study estimate using emotional words based on AHP of Saaty, so it is very good to estimate the high-speed railway safety.

Enhancements of transport capacity in Gyeongbu line are continuous with the operating cost reduction and Korean economic development. Besides, requirements of a people about speed-up and customer service after the opening of high-speed railway(KTX) are being increased nowadays. Therefore, development and effort for speed increase of high-speed railway(KTX) have to be encouraged and supported by the government. In this study, market and technology trends for speed increase of high-speed train in Korea and abroad were investigated. As a result, we suggested to improve the railway infra for speed increase of high-speed train in Gyeongbu line.
