효소에 의한 사과 세포벽 펙틴 추출 (A Study on Pectin Extraction from Apple Cell Wall by Enzyme)

  • 식물 세포벽으로부터 펙틴을 추출하는데 있어 펙틴의 중합도를 높인 고 기능의 펙틴을 추출하기 위해 펙틴의 효소추출법을 사용하여 기존의 고온 산처리 펙틴 추출법과 비교하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 불용성의 WAIP로부터 일련의 산 추출 공정과 hemicellulase를 이용한 일련의 효소 추출 공정을 거친 결과, 추출물의 수율은 효소 추출법이 더 높았다. 2. 효소 추출법에 있어 추출 조건을 다양하게 변화시켜 가며 수율을 검토한 결과, 최적의 추출 조건은 hemicellulase 1.5g을 24hr동안 38$^{\circ}C$에서 반응시킨 것으로 나타났다. 3. 펙틴의 주요 성분인 galacturonic acid 함량으로 추출물의 펙틴 순도와 수율을 비교한 결과 산 추출물에 비해 효소 추출물은 수율은 높은 대신 순도가 낮았고 메톡실 함량은 비슷하였다. 4. 효소 추출법에서 추출한 펙틴물질은 중성당 분석, GC, HPLC 등을 통해 성분을 정밀하게 분석하고 다양한 방법으로 고기능 펙틴을 추출할 수 있는 조건도 찾고, 그를 통해 정확한 식물 세포벽 모델이 제시될 수 있을 것이다.

투명성을 이용한 현대 패션디자인의 미적 특성 (Aesthetic Characteristics of Modern Fashion Design with Emphasis on Transparency)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the aesthetic characteristics of modern fashion design use with a particular focus on transparency, and to help create future vision and feature. As part of the methodology for this study, I examined the concept of transparency, its characteristics and how it was expressed through art, architecture and other designs using literature research. Furthermore, I performed justifiable analysis on modern fashion design which used transparency from the 1990s till present. The following concepts were deciphered from information: Firstly, the concept of purity was highlighted. The emphasis here was to enhance the body's natural beauty with simple silhouettes that do not restrict its curves, using light materials such as clear vinyl, semi-clear materials or thin chiffon. Secondly, to express sensuality by exposing the body's curves with tight wrapping using clear materials, or with indirect and symbolic see-through techniques using contrasting clear, semi-clear and opaque materials. Thirdly, to express futurism through cyber and electronic images using high tech or shiny materials such as metal or holograms. Mechanical movements or effects of light are also used. Fourthly, to express playful characteristic by promoting surprises and disharmony that contradict with traditional techniques. This is carried out by intentionally exaggerating certain portions of clothes through disorder elements or confusion, and unsymmetrical shapes which destruct the human body's normal form.

Ethyl Silicate를 이용한 고순도 $\beta$-SiC미분말 합성에 관한 연구(II) (분말의 특성, 반응형식 및 활성화에너지) (A Studyon Synthesis of High Purity $\beta$-SiC Fine Particles from Ethyl Silicate(II) (Powder Properties, Reaction Type and Activation Energy))

  • The Silica-Carbon mixture was made with addition of carbon black in the composition which monodispersed spherical fine silica was formed by the hydrolysis of ethylsilicate, mole ratio of Carbon/Alkoxide was 3.1 and $\beta$-SiC powder was synthesized by reacting this mixture at 1,350~1,50$0^{\circ}C$ in Ar atmosphere. The results of this study are as follow : (1) The purity of synthesized $\beta$-SiC powder was above 99.98% and it was in cubic modification with lattice constant of 4.3476$\AA$. (2) The rate-controlling steps varied with the reaction temperature for the syntehsis of $\beta$-SiC in this study ; nucleation and growth of $\beta$-SiC at 1,350~1,40$0^{\circ}C$, interfacial reaction at 1,45$0^{\circ}C$ and diffusion described by Jander Equation at 1,50$0^{\circ}C$. (3) When the rate-determining step was nucleation and growth, the activation energy was about 87.8kcal/mol.

IGCC 플랜트에서 산소공급방식이 성능에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Oxygen Supply Method on the Performance of IGCC Plants)

  • In this paper, two types of integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plants using either an air separation unit (ASU) or an ion transport membrane (ITM), which provide the oxygen required in the gasification process, were simulated and their thermodynamic performance was compared. Also, the influence of adopting a pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture in the downstream of the gasification process on the performance of the two systems was examined. The system using the ITM exhibits greater net power output than the system using the ASU. However, its net plant efficiency is slightly lower because of the additional fuel consumption required to operate the ITM at an appropriate operating temperature. This efficiency comparison is based on the assumption of a moderately high purity (95%) of the oxygen generated from the ASU. However, if the oxygen purity of the ASU is to be comparable to that of the ITM, which is over 99%, the ASU based IGCC system would exhibit a lower net efficiency than the ITM based system.

Pb Splashing 합금으로부터 Zn정련에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Purification of Zn from Pb Splashing Alloy)

  • Electric are furnace dust (EAF dust) generated in steel production based on scrap melting is contained Zn and Fe about 25 and 30 percent by weight, respectively. From a metallurgical point of view, the dust could be regarded as a raw material for Zn and Fe source. To recover the Zn in the metal from EAF dust, many system are proposed such as Arc Plasma Furmace and Pb splasher method. In this study, to recover high purity Zn from Pb splasing alloy, Zn distillation is carried out at the temperature of 1123, 1173, 1223, 1273 K, the gas flow rate of 2.5, 5.0, 8.0 Ni/min and the distilling time of 10, 30, 60, 90 minutes. The main results obtained from this study are as follows:(1) The amount of evaporated Zn and its evaporating rate increased with increasing temperature, but purity of Zn decreased with increasing temperature. Optimum temperature range was found out to be between 1173∼1223K. (2) The amount of evaporated Zn and evaporation rate increased with increasing gas flow rate at a given temperature and distillation time. Gas flow rate has more influence over the amount of evaporated Zn and evaporation rate with increasing temperature.

Deep Blue Fluorescent Host Materials Based on a Novel Spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] Core Structure with Side Aromatic Wings

  • Deep blue fluorescent host materials based on a novel spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] core structure with side aromatic wings in the 5- and 9-positions, namely, 5,9-di(naphthalen-2-yl)spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] (DN-SBFF), 5,9-bis(4-t-butylphenyl)spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] (BP-SBFF), and 5,9-bis(4-fluorophenyl)spiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene] (FP-SBFF), were designed and successfully prepared using the Suzuki reaction. The physical properties of these materials and their EL characteristics as blue host materials doped with N,N,N',N'-tetraphenylspiro[benzo[c]fluorene-7,9'-fluorene]-5,9-diamine (TPA-SBFF) were investigated. The device used comprised ITO/N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis[4-(phenyl-m-tolyl-amino)phenyl]-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (DNTPD)/N,N'-di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenylbenzidine (NPB)/(FP-SBFF):dopant x%/tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum ($Alq_3$)/LiF. The device obtained using FP-SBFF doped with TPA-SBFF showed high color purity (0.13, 0.18) and an efficiency of 6.61 cd/A at 7 V.

A Synthesis of High Purity Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes from Small Diameters of Cobalt Nanoparticles by Using Oxygen-Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition Process

  • A successful combination of “oxygen-assisted chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process” and Co catalyst nanoparticles to grow highly pure single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was demonstrated. Recently, it was reported that addition of small amounts of oxygen during CVD process dramatically increased the purity and yield of carbon nanotubes. However, this strategy could not be applied for discrete Fe nanoparticle catalysts from which appropriate yields of SWNTs could be grown directly on solid substrates, and fabricated into field effect transistors (FETs) quite efficiently. The main reason for this failure is due to the carbothermal reduction which results in SiO2 nanotrench formation. We found that the oxygen-assisted CVD process could be successfully applied for the growth of highly pure SWNTs by switching the catalyst from Fe to Co nanoparticles. The topological morphologies and p-type transistor electrical transport properties of the grown SWNTs were examined by using atomic force microscope (AFM), Raman, and from FET devices fabricated by photolithography.

색순도가 우수한 갈륨 산화물계 적색 형광체의 광발광 특성 (Photoluminescence Characteristic of Gallate-Based Red Emitting Phosphors with High Color Purity)

  • $Eu^{3+}$-activated $R_3GaO_6$ (R = Y, Gd) phosphors were prepared in a conventional solid-state reaction and their optical properties were investigated. These compounds exhibit strong red emission under light excitation at 254 nm. The emission spectra are dominated by peaks appearing around 610-630 nm that are induced by the electric dipole transition of $^5D_0\;{\rightarrow}\;^7F_2$ of $Eu^{3+}$. In addition, the appropriate CIE (Commission Internationale de l'clairage) chromaticity coordinates, (x = 0.656, y = 0.336) for $Y_3GaO_6$ and (x = 0.655, y = 0.334) for $Gd_3GaO_6$, become closer to the NTSC (National Television System Committee) standard values. With the optimized activator concentrations, the maximum emission brightness is approximately 80% of $Y_2O_3$:$Eu^{3+}$ typical red-emitting phosphor with improved color purity under an excitation condition of 254 nm.

Radiochemical separation of 89Zr: a promising radiolabel for immuno-PET

  • $^{89}Zr$ with the favorable nuclear decay kinetics and chemical properties is an appealing radiometal for its application in immuno-PET using radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies. Rising demand of ultrahigh purity and high-specific activity $^{89}Zr$ has propelled the radiochemist worldwide to develop an overall efficacious method for its promising separation from the target matrix $^{89}Y$. The requirement of elevated radiochemical purity (${\geq}$ 99.99%) has accelerated the efforts since last two decades to achieve higher decontamination and separation factors of carrier free $^{89}Zr$ over $^{89}Y$ using several suitable separation techniques. However, each of the technique has its own pros and cons which prior to its actual medical application needs to be optimized and thoroughly scrutinized to avoid further complications during radiolabelling of the pharmaceuticals. In this short review article we will specifically consider as well focus on the historical development and the recent advances on the radiochemical separation of $^{89}Zr$ from $^{89}Y$ which will be helpful for the separation scientist involved in this area to understand the existing available means and plan the strategy to investigate and develop the novel techniques to overcome the problems involved in the present methods.

티타늄 스크랩 재활용에 의한 고순도 분말 소결 기술 (Technology of High Purity Powder Sintering by Ti Scrap Recycling)

  • In this study, Ti powder was fabricated from Ti scrap by the Hydrogenation-Dehydrogenation (HDH) method. Hydrogenation reactions of Ti scrap occurred at near 450 $^{\circ}C$ with a sudden increase in the reaction temperature and the decreasing pressure of hydrogen gas during the hydrogenation process in the furnace. The dehydrogenation process was also carried out at 750 $^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs in a vacuum of $10^{-4}$ torr. After the HDH process, a deoxidation treatment was carried out with the Ca(purity: 99.5) at 700 $^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs in the vacuum system. It was found that the oxidation content of Ti powder that was deoxidized with Ca showed noticeably lower values, compared to the content obtained by HDH process. In order to fabricate Ti compacts, Ti powder was sintered at $1100\sim1400^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs under a vacuum of $10^{-4}$ torr. The relative density of compact was 94.9% at 1300 $^{\circ}C$. After sintering, all of the Ti compacts showed brittle fracture behavior, which occurred in an elastic range with short plastic yielding up to a peak stress.
