In recent, recreational vehicles, which efficiently provide wide inner space for various utilities, are highly preferred in automobile market. Though those vehicles enable to load much luggage in space behind the last seat, in case of frontal impact with high velocity the luggage strongly collides into the seat back and the passengers in. the last seat could be severely injured. Therefore, high strength against luggage intrusion is required for the last seat, and it is regulated by law of ECE R17. In this study, for a recreational vehicle under developing, an analysis technique for simulating seat crash in accordance with luggage intrusion test of ECE R17 was investigated. The results exhibited good correlation with the test ones.
The energetic steam explosion caused by contact between the high temperature molten core and water is one of the phenomena that may threaten the integrity of the containment vessel during severe accidents of light water reactors (LWRs). We examined the dependence of steam explosion loads in a typical reactor cavity geometry on selected model parameters and initial/boundary conditions by using a steam explosion simulation code, JASMINE, developed at Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). Among the parameters, we put an emphasis on the water pool depth that has significance in terms of accident mitigation strategies including cavity flooding. The results showed a strong correlation between the load and the premixed mass, defined as the mass of the molten material in low void zones (void fraction < 0.75). The jet diameter and velocity that comprise the flow rate were the primary factors to determine the premixed mass and the load. The water pool depth also showed a significant impact. The energy conversion ratio based on the enthalpy in the premixed mass was in a narrow range ~4%. Based on this observation, we proposed a simplified method for evaluation of the steam explosion load. The results showed fair agreement with JASMINE.
Most of auto-body members are composed of stamping parts. These parts have the non-uniform thickness and plastic work hardening distribution during the forming process. This paper is concerned with the side impact analysis of the ULSAB-AVC model according to the US-SINCAP in order to compare the crashworthiness between the model with and without considering the forming effect. The forming effect is ca]ciliated by one-step forming analysis for several members. The crashworthiness is investigated by comparing the deformed shape of the cabin room the energy absorption characteristics and the intrusion velocity of a car. The result of the crash analysis demonstrates that the crash mode, the load-carrying capacity and energy absorption can be affected by the forming effect. It is noted that the design of an autobody should be carried out considering the forming effect for accurate assessment of crashworthiness.
A dynamic elastic local buckling analysis is presented for a pile subjected to an axial impact load. The pile is assumed to be geometrically perfect. The interactions between the pile and the surrounding soil are taken into account. The interactions include the normal pressure and skin friction on the surface of the pile due to the resistance of the soil. The analysis also includes the influence of the propagation of stress waves through the length of the pile to the distance at which buckling is initiated and the mass of the pile. A perturbation technique is used to determine the critical buckling length and the associated critical time. As a special case, the explicit expression for the buckling length of a pile is obtained without considering soil resistance and compared with the one obtained for a column by means of an alternative method. Numerical results obtained show good agreement with the experimental results. The effects of the normal pressure and the skin friction due to the surrounding soil, self-weight, stiffness and geometric dimension of the cross section on the critical buckling length are discussed. The sudden change of buckling modes is further considered to show the 'snap-through' phenomenon occurring as a result of stress wave propagation.

The design concept of high speed railway bridges is applied to a method for increasing the stiffness of existing bridge structures considering the impact factor by a static load. Generally, the process of structural design would be relied upon an advanced foreign technology. However, the dynamic amplification factor (DAF) and dynamic capacity assessment of high speed railway bridges may be conducted essentially a detailed estimation because the resonance phenomenon is affected by the long length (380 m) and high speed (300 km/h) moving of a high speed railway (Korea Train eXpress: KTX). Therefore, this study will be examined the dynamic capacity of the typical PSC Box Girder high speed railway bridge efficiently, and offered the basic information for the reasonable structural design. For this, the static analysis is conducted considering the load line diagram of KTX based upon existing references. In addition, the KTX moving load is transformed into the time series load considering various analytical variables. The time history analysis is assessed reasonable using the transformed time series load. At that time, analytical variables for calculating the time series load are considered loading node distance, time increment and KTX velocity variation etc. The dynamic capacity of the PSC Box Girder high speed railway bridge is examined based upon the FE analysis result systematically. The structural safety is assessed quantitatively in accordance with the related regulation of the inside and outside of the country.
This research got the following conclusion as result that analyzed high clear action kinematically to 4 C girls' junior high school badminton players who are situated in Chungchong-bukdo. 1. Most of the subject didn't rotate their right shoulder and elbow joint at back swing and moved speedy to shuttle cock. And an cooperation action of joint decreases displaying only a good action on both subject`s specification joint part. 2. When the subject S1 and S2 swing slowly and largely the joint of shoulder and elbow and then the speed of right wrist and racket head is fast, the cooperation action of joint is better than other subject. 3. An angle change of right shoulder showed angle that all subjects are great being caused in softness of joint and angular velocity was exposed that load enough Impact force and increase the speed of racket head as angular velocity decreases rapidly in Impact except subject S3. 4. All subjects of right elbow angle change showed similar form and was exposed that subject S2 sees form of impact stage serious bends from back swing and do not use force effectively in angular velocity. 5. Angle of right wrist appeared that the speed of shuttle cock is decelerated because fast bends of wrist is not formed shortly after Impact because all subject do not accomplish big angle shortly after back swing. Angular velocity can assume that the subject S1 and S4 are using and move fast strong snap shot offering angular velocity value of Impact stage sound (-). 6. While size of Impact stage knee angle accomplishes angle that is big both subject, hip joint angles sees small angle and is playing swing that do on upper body and arm without using strong waist force that is composition action with knee and hip joint.
In the present case study, High Strain Dynamic Testing of piles is conducted at 3 different locations of Kolkata city of India. The raw field data acquired is analyzed using Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and CAPWAP (Case Pile Wave Analysis Programme) computer software and load settlement curves along with variation of force and velocity with time is obtained. A finite difference based numerical software FLAC3D has been used for simulating the field conditions by simulating similar soil-pile models for each case. The net pile displacement and ultimate pile capacity determined from the field tests and estimated by using numerical analyses are compared. It is seen that the ultimate capacity of the pile computed using FLAC3D differs from the field test results by around 9%, thereby indicating the efficiency of FLAC3D as reliable numerical software for analyzing pile foundations subjected to impact loading. Moreover, various parameters like top layers of cohesive soil varying from soft to stiff consistency, pile length, pile diameter, pile impedance and critical height of fall of the hammer have been found to influence both pile displacement and net pile capacity substantially. It may, therefore, be suggested to include the test in relevant IS code of practice.
The formation of adiabatic shearband in tungsten heavy alloys(WHA) was studied in this investigation. Five prismatic specimens were loaded by high velocity impacts and treated as plane strain problems. To find out the effect of particle's volume ratio, specimens containing 81%, 93% and 97% volume percents of tungsten particles were used. Also the effects of particle's geometry and size on the formation of shearband were studied for 81% volume percent alloys by small size particle model, large size particle model and undulated particle models, and the results were discussed.be used to diagnose the causes of necking and fracture in industrial practice and to investigate whether these defects were caused by material property variation, changes in lubrication, or incorrect press settings. In non-axisymmetric deep drawing, three modes of forming regimes are found: draw, stretch, plane strain. The stretch mode for non-axisymmetric deep drawing could be defined when the major and minor strains are positive. The draw mode could be defined when the major strain is positive and minor strain is negative, and plane strain mode could be defined when the major strain is positive and minor strain is zero. Through experiments the draw mode was shown on the wall and flange are one of a drawn cup, while the plane strain and the stretch mode were on the punch head and the punch corner area respectively, We observed that the punch load of elliptical deep drawing was decreased according to increase of die corner radius and the thickness deformation of minor side was more large than major side.

The purpose of this study was to validate the EFDC model for the weir pool of Gangjeong-Goryong Weir located in Nakdong River, and evaluate the effect of flow control and phosphate loading reduction on the water quality and algae biomass by group (Diatom, Green, Cyanobacteria). As a result of model validation using 2018 experimental data, the time series of water level and vertical distribution of water temperature, DO, organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus time series were properly simulated. Seasonal fluctuations of algae biomass by group were adequately reproduced, but the deviations between measured and simulated values were significant in some periods. As a result of scenario simulations to control the water level and flow rate, the thermal stratification was resolved as the water level was lowered and the flow rate increased. The flow velocity at which the water temperature stratification was resolved was about 0.1 m/s, which is consistent with the previous study results of Baekje Weir in Geum River. Simulations of the 2Q flow scenario showed that Chl-a decreased by 8.7% and the cell density of diatom and green algae declined. The cell density of cyanobacteria increased, however, because the high concentrations of cyanobacteria in the upstream boundary conditions directly affected downstream due to increased flow velocity. In the scenario simulation of reducing the influent phosphate load concentration (average 0.056 mg/L) to 50%, Chl-a decreased by 13.6%.The results suggest that the upstream algae concentration and phosphorus load reduction should be considered simultaneously with hydraulic control to prevent algal overgrowth of Gangjeong-Goryong Weir.

Axial crushing behavior of cylindrical shell Is utilized in the braking of the high-velocity impacting object. In this paper, truncated cone shape brake device is introduced. That is, thickness of the shell is increased gradually from the impacting end to the other end. A detailed experimental investigation on the quasi-static axial crushing behavior of truncated cone type brake devices has been performed. Specimens of various shape were tested to check the influence of design parameters such as length, radius, mean thickness, and conical angle of cylinder. Influence of the material properties were also investigated by adopting aluminum, low carbon steel, and stainless steel as constructing materials. By analyzing deformation procedures of the specimens, it is seen that conical angle influence the deformation mode and the sequence of the wrinkles generation. Braking distance and mean braking force of each specimen were predicted based on the crushing load measured from the tests.
