  • Charge amplifier systems benefit from the very wide dynamic range of PE accelerometers by offering flexibility in adjusting the electrical output characteristics such as sensitivity and range. They are well suited for operation at high temperatures. Modern charge systems feature improved low noise operation, simplified digital controls, and dual mode operation for operation with charge or IEPE voltage mode sensors. high impedance circuitry is not well suited for operation in adverse field or factory environments. The resolution of a PE accelerometer may not be specified or known since noise is a system consideration determined by cable length and amplifier gain. IEPE accelerometrs operate from a constant current power source, provide a high-voltage, low-impedance, fixed mV/g output. They operate through long, ordinary, coaxial cable in adverse environments without degradation of signal quality. They have limited high temperature range. IEPE sensors are simple to operate. Both resolution and operating range are defined specifications. Cost perchannel is lower compared to PE systems since low-noise cable and charge amplifiers are not required.

  • In order to improve the flow performance of high performance concrete, use of high performance water reducing agent and low viscosity type water reducing agent is a study of suitable range of use due to side effects. in this study, we aimed at reducing viscosity and yield value using high performance water reducing agent and low viscosity type water reducing agent, and this was evaluated using a rheometer. as a result of analysis of viscosity and yield value, it was found that the high performance water reducing agent has higher reduction effect than the low viscosity type water reducing agent. however, the larger the viscosity lowering effect is, the lower the usable range is, compared to general high performance water reducing agents, and it was found that sufficient consideration for this judgment of appropriate quantity is necessary.

  • A Stepped Frequency Radar(SFR) is a method that realizes high resolution range estimation by increasing the frequency of transmission pulses at regular intervals to generate a wide synthetic bandwidth. However, in the case of a moving target, accurate range estimation becomes difficult due to the range-Doppler coupling. In this paper, the process of high resolution range estimation by compensation of the range-Doppler coupling with estimated velocity of the moving target using the SFR waveform with Coherent Pulse Train(CPT) is analyzed and it was verified through simulation.

  • This study examines the high-low pitch range differences between Korean and native English speakers' utterances of 36 English sentences, and explores the role of the pitch fluctuation range in the pronunciation assessment. Findings are: i) Korean speakers implement half as much pitch fluctuation as the native speakers with the achievement rate of, on an average, 47%. Especially, pitch fluctuation range is below the average in the sentence types of exclamation, yes-no & wh-questions, ii) the reason why Korean speakers' pitch fluctuation range is only half the range of the native speakers is that Korean speakers do not raise the pitch at certain sentence positions so much as the native speakers, and iii) the range of pitch fluctuation plays an important role in distinguishing the utterances of the native speakers from those of Korean speakers, but does not in rating the English utterances among Korean speakers.

  • The prompt gamma imaging (PGI) technique is considered as one of the most promising approaches to estimate the range of proton beam in the patient and unlock the full potential of proton therapy. In the PGI technique, a dedicated algorithm is required to estimate the range of the proton beam from the prompt gamma (PG) distribution acquired by a PGI system. In the present study, a new range estimation algorithm was developed for a multi-slit prompt-gamma camera, one of PGI systems, to estimate the range of proton beam with high accuracy. The performance of the developed algorithm was evaluated by Monte Carlo simulations for various beam/phantom combinations. Our results generally show that the developed algorithm is very robust, showing very high accuracy and precision for all the cases considered in the present study. The range estimation accuracy of the developed algorithm was 0.5-1.7 mm, which is approximately 1% of beam range, for 1×109 protons. Even for the typical number of protons for a spot (1×108), the range estimation accuracy of the developed algorithm was 2.1-4.6 mm and smaller than the range uncertainties and typical safety margin, while that of the existing algorithm was 2.5-9.6 mm.

  • An experimental study has been carried on high-preheated temperature air combustion. Because the flames with high-preheated temperature air combustion were much more stable and homogeneous(both temporally and spatially) as compared to the room-temperature combustion air. The global flame feature showed range of flame colors (yellow, blue, blurish-green) over the range of conditions. Low level of NOx along with low level of CO have been obtained under high-preheated air combustion conditions. The thermal and chemical behavior of high-preheated air combustion flames depends on preheated temperature and oxygen concentration air.

  • In theory, the sharp dose falloff at the distal end of a proton beam allows for high conformal dose to the target. However, conformity has not been fully achieved in practice, primarily due to beam range uncertainty, which is approximately 4% and varies slightly across institutions. To address this issue, we developed a new range verification system prototype: a multi-slit prompt-gamma camera (MSPGC). This system features high prompt-gamma detection sensitivity, an advanced range estimation algorithm, and a precise camera positioning system. We evaluated the range measurement precision of the prototype for single spot beams with varying energies, proton quantities, and positions, as well as for spot-scanning proton beams in a simulated SSPT treatment using a phantom. Our results demonstrated high accuracy (<0.4 mm) in range measurement for the tested beam energies and positions. Measurement precision increased significantly with the number of protons, achieving 1% precision with 5 × 108 protons. For spot-scanning proton beams, the prototype ensured more than 5 × 108 protons per spot with a 7 mm or larger spot aggregation, achieving 1% range measurement precision. Based on these findings, we anticipate that the clinical application of the new prototype will reduce range uncertainty (currently approximately 4%) to 1% or less.

  • High power trends in the diesel engines due to engine downsizing do not provide noise attenuation that can be satisfied with the performance of the existing silencer on account of high frequency increases in the exhaust noise. This study improves the attenuation performance of the exhaust silencer of the diesel engine and suggests silencer structure that performs best attenuation performance, especially at the high frequency range in the exhaust noise. It proposes dual silencer structure with an average attenuation performance of 6.4 dB and a maximum of 10.7 dB in the high frequency range (over 500 Hz), and analyzes its characteristics compared with the existing silencer. The performance analysis is performed according to 'Measurements on silencers in situation-ISO 11820:1996 Acoustics' and describes the results of comparative analysis with the existing silencer.

  • To achieve a wide suction range, the low suction was imposed on compacted silt specimens by the axis translation technique and the high suction was imposed by the vapor equilibrium technique with saturated salt solutions. Firstly, the results of soil water retention tests on compacted silt show that the soil water retention curves in terms of gravimetric water content versus suction relation are independent of the dry density or void ratio in a high suction range. Therefore, triaxial tests on compacted silt with constant water content at high suctions can be considered as that with constant suction. Secondly, the results of triaxial shear tests on unsaturated compacted silt with the initial void ratio of about 0.75 show a strain-hardening behavior with a slightly shear contraction and then strain-softening behavior with an obviously dilation. As the imposed suction increases, the shear strength increases up to a peak value and then decreases when the suction is beyond a special value corresponding to the peak shear strength. The residual strength increases to fair value and those at high suctions are almost independent of imposed suctions. In addition, the contribution of suction to the strength of compacted silt would not diminish even in a high suction range.

Variations of sensitivity test are selected items as followings; (1)Concrete temperature, (2)Unit water(Surface moisture of fine aggregate), (3)Fineness modulus of fine aggregate, (4)Addition ratio of high-range water reducing agent. And fresh conditions of the high flowing concrete should be satisfied with required range including slump flow$(65{\pm}5cm)$, 50cm reaching time of slump flow$(4\~10sec)$, V-box flowing time$(10\~20sec)$, U-box height(min.300mm) and air content$(4{\pm}1\%)$. As results of sensitivity test, material variations and site conditions should be satisfied with the range as followings; (1)Concrete temperature is $10\~20^{\circ}C$ (below $30^{\circ}C$), (2)Surface moisture of fine aggregate is within ${\pm}0.6\%$, (3)Fineness modulus of fine aggregate is $2.6{\pm}0.2$ and (4)addition ratio of high range water reducing agent is within $1\%$ considered flow-ability, self-compaction and segregation resistance of the high flowing concrete.
