  • Machines on board a ship are mounted on decks and transmit its structure-borne sound to the deck through resilient mounts. To predict the ship noise generated by the structure-borne sound of the machine, It is necessary to estimate the vibration level of the base structure. In this paper, a simple dynamic model is considered for vibration isolation systems consisting of a source, an isolator, and a base structure. The high frequency mobilities of the simple base structure are reviewed and wave effects in the mount are discussed in relation to isolation performance.

  • The objective of this study is to analysis the seismic response of 200m spanned honeycomb lattice domes under horizontal and up-down ground motion of El Centro earthquake. For the analysis of seismic response of the honeycomb lattice domes by rise/span ratio, the time history analysis is used for the estimation of the dynamic response. The low rise lattice dome is less deformed and less stressed than the high rise lattice dome for the earthquake ground motion. The 3-dimensional earthquake response is not significantly different the dynamic response of one directional ground motion. The earthquake response of domes with LRB isolation system is significantly reduced for the asymmetric vertical deformation and the horizontal and vertical accelerations.

  • The explosive growth of data traffic and services has created cost challenges for networks. Studies have attempted to effectively apply network slicing in fifth generation networks to provide high speed, low latency, and various compatible services. However, in network slicing using mixed-integer linear programming, the operation count increases exponentially with the number of physical servers and virtual network functions (VNFs) to be allocated. Therefore, we propose an efficient slice allocation method based on cluster technology, comprising the following three steps: i) clustering physical servers; ii) selecting an appropriate cluster to allocate a VNF; iii) selecting an appropriate physical server for VNF allocation. Solver runtimes of the existing and proposed methods are compared, under similar settings, with respect to intra-slice isolation. The results show that solver runtime decreases, by approximately 30% on average, with an increase in the number of physical servers within the cluster in the presence of intra-slice isolation.

  • The concept of base isolation for equipment is well known. Its application in buildings and structures is rather challenging. Introduction of horizontal flexibility at the base helps in proper energy dissipation at the base level thus reducing the seismic demand of the super structure to be considered during design. The present study shows the results of a series of numerical simulation studies on seismic responses of secondary system (SS) housed in non-isolated and base-isolated primary structures (PS) including equipment-structure interactions. For this study the primary structure consists of two similar single bay three-store reinforced cement concrete (RCC) Frame building, one non-isolated with conventional foundation and another base isolated with Lead plug bearings (LPB) constructed at IIT Guwahati, while the secondary system is modeled as a steel frame. Time period of the base isolated building is higher than the fixed building. Due to the presence of isolator, Acceleration response is significantly reduced in both (X and Y) direction of Building. It have been found that when compared to fixed base building, the base isolated building gives better performance in high seismic prone areas.

  • Current codes of practice do not exist in isolation, and rules that have been developed assume certain material properties and minimum workmanship in fabrication and erection. These are either in separate documents or different parts of the code. This paper explains the main requirements for materials and workmanship and how they can be related to design and construction in general. The use of very high strength steels is also considered and the measures that may be needed to allow their use with modern codes are also presented.

  • This paper presents analysis of control characteristics of high power hybrid multilevel PWM rectifier without bulky and heavy isolation transformers. It will be shown that the DC voltages for multilevel output generation may be directly built up from AC utility source. The multilevel PWM rectifier is analyzed by using the circuit DQ transformation whereby the static and dynamic characteristics and some useful design equations are obtained. Finally to confirm the validity of the analysis MATLAB simulation are carried out.

  • The chemical structure of low molecule polyphenol of tea was found as explained. Structure decision of pioanthocyanidin was possible to measure 1,700 molecule, hexamer by chemical basic of polyphenol. At present, structure of high molecule than of that can't be suspected and it is concemed that strong astrigent ccnpound of tea is polymer proanthocyanidin. Mush researches was required in structure decision and isolation of high molecule polyphenol complex. Structure decision will develope at the natural products in the furture.

  • A specific experimental method, the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique has been widely used to determine the dynamic material properties under the impact compressive loading conditions with strain-rate of the order of 103/s~104/s. In this paper, dynamic deformation behaviors of rubber materials widely used for the isolation of vibration from varying structures under dynamic loading are determined using a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar technique.

  • In this paper, we propose the new detecting method for three dimensional piezoresistive silicon accelerometer. Furthermore the accelerometer is formed to have endurance for high temperature by perfect isolation of the piezoresistors using Silicon On Insulator(SOI) wafer. Sensor size are optimized with analytical formulae and extended with FEM simulation for the more detailed results. The accelerometer was fabricated by bulk micromachining techonology. We measured the temperature characteristics and the output characteristics, and the both characteristics were compared with the simulated results

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of high-power PIN diode switch modules and high-speed switch driver circuits are presented for Wibro base stations. To prevent isolation degradation due to parasitic inductances of conventional packaged PIN diodes and to improve power handling capabilities of the switch modules, bare diode chips are used and carefully placed in a PCB layout, which makes bonding wire inductances to be absorbed in the impedance of a transmission line. The switch module is designed and implemented to have a maximum performance while using a minimum number of the diodes. It shows an insertion loss of ${\sim}0.84\;dB$ and isolation of 80 dB or more at 2.35 GHz. The switch driver circuit is also fabricated and measured to have a switching speed of ${\sim}200\;nsec$. The power handling capability test demonstrates that the module operates normally even under a digitally modulated 70 W RF signal stress.
