  • Energy flow analysis(EFA) is a representative method that can predict the statistical energetics of structures at high frequencies. Generally, as the frequency increases, the shear distortion and rotatory inertia effects in the out-of-plane motion of beams or plates become important. Therefore, to predict the out-of-plane energetics of coupled structures in the high frequency range, the energy flow analyses of Timoshenko beam and Mindlin plate are required. Unlike the energy flow model of Kirchhoff plate, the energy flow model of Mindlin plate is composed of three kinds of energy governing equations(out-of-plane shear wave, bending dominant flexural wave, and shear dominant flexural wave). This paper performed the energy flow finite element analysis(EFFEA) of coplanar coupled Mindlin plates. For EFFEA of coplanar coupled Mindlin plates, the energy flow finite element formulation of out-of-plane energetics in the Mindlin plate was performed. The general EFFEA program was implemented by MATLAB® language. For the verification of EFFEA of Mindlin plate, the various numerical applications were done successfully.

  • Because Filters do both the sampling or Sampled-and-Hold(S/H) operations, it result in the replication of the spectrum of input signal and (unless Nyquist's criterion is satisfied) induce aliasing distortion. In this paper, therefore, we designed AAF(Analog Anti-aliasing Filers) so as to remove high-frequency components from input signal for aliasing distortion prevention before input signal had been processed frequency seletion by filters. and then, researched characteristics of it.

  • In the area of the speech synthesis techniques, the waveform coding methods maintain the intelligibility and naturalness of synthetic speech. In order to apply the waveform coding techniques to synthesis by rule, however, we must be able to alter the pitches for prosody control of synthetic speech. In this paper, we propose a new pitch alteration technique in time-frequency hybrid domain, that compensates phase distortion of the cepstral pitch alteration method with time scaling method in the time domain. This method can remove some phase spectrum distortion which is occurred in conjunction point between the waveforms in continued frames. Also, we can obtain little magnitude spectrum distortion below 1.18% for pitch alteration of 200%.

  • When Television signal of VHF and UHF channel is retransmitted at the relay system with 6MHz Bandwidth including video and aural signals, the image is often affected with the unnatural changes of output amplitude frequency response within ttle region of dual sideband near to the carrier frequency. These phenomena are caused by the unnecessary lower sideband due to the spurious emission at the local oscillator, the nonlinear distortion in the linear amplifier, the intermoudulation distortion with the components of neighboring signal, the AM-PM conversion, and the envelope delay distortion. From the output characteristics, considering above results, the chief cause is caused by nonlinear response and has an effect on the bias states. Finally, it is confirmed that the effects on neighboring signal appear high in case of Down conversion than Up conversion and obtained the method for reducing the effects on the system.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between moral cognitive distortion and peer bullying of children and adolescents. For this study, questionnaires on moral cognitive distortion and peer bullying were administered to 678 students in the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th grades in elementary, middle and high schools located in the metropolitan area of Seoul. The data were analyzed through frequency analysis, mean and standard deviation, t-test, two-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS Win 12.0. The main findings of this study are as follows: 1) While grade had a significant influence on the moral cognitive distortion of children and adolescents, gender did not. On bullying perpetration and bullying victimization, both gender and grade had a significant influence. 2) Moral cognitive distortion had a significant influence on peer bullying. More specifically, for elementary school students, the variables affecting bullying victimization and bullying perpetration were found to be worst-case-scenario thinking and other-blame thinking, respectively. For middle school students, victimization was affected most significantly by worst-case-scenario thinking, followed by gender; perpetration was most significantly affected by worst-case-scenario thinking. For high school students, victimization was affected most significantly by other-blame thinking, followed by gender; perpetration was most significantly affected by other-blame thinking.

  • This paper presents a Bidirectional High-Frequency Link (BHFL) inverter that utilizes the Deadbeat controller. The main features of this topology are the reduced size of the inverter and fewer power switches. On the secondary side of the transformer, the active rectifier employs only two power switches, thus reducing switching losses. Using this configuration, the inverter is capable of carrying a bidirectional power flow. The inverter is controlled by a Deadbeat controller, which consists of the inner current loop, outer voltage loop and a feedforward controller. Additional disturbance decoupling networks are employed to improve the system's robustness towards load variations. A 1-kVA prototype inverter has been constructed and the Deadbeat control algorithm is experimentally verified. The experimental results show that the inverter has high efficiency (91%) with low steady state output voltage total harmonics distortion (1.5%).

  • In this paper a cycloconverter-type high frequency transformer link inverter with a reduced switch count is analyzed and designed. The proposed topology consists of an H-bridge inverter at the transformer's primary side and a cycloconverter with three bidirectional switches at the secondary. All of the switches of the cycloconverter operate in non-resonant zero voltage and zero current switching modes. To overcome a high voltage surge problem resulting from the transformer leakage inductance, phase angle control based on natural commutation is employed. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter is verified by constructing s 750W prototype. Experimentally, the inverter is able to supply a near sinusoidal output voltage with a total harmonic distortion of less than 1%. For comparison, a PSpice simulation of the inverter is also carried out. It was found that the experimental results are in very close agreement with the simulation.

  • OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system is robust to frequency selective fading and narrowband interference in high-speed data communications. However, an OFDM signal consists of a number of independently modulated subcarriers, which can give a large PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) when added up coherently. In this paper, we apply clipping and filtering to solve the PAPR problem and compensate the inband compensation using calculated EVM (Error Vector Magnitude). The proposed method can reduce the PAPR and inband distortion. From the results, we analyze the PAPR reducing efficiency and EVM, BER performance of proposed algorithm in the wireless communication system.

  • Optical performance depending on the input wavefront distortion is analyzed in terms of StreW ratio. The amplitude of wavefront distortion at the optic axis that gives the system diffraction limited optical performance is described quantatively from the analysis of the Strehl ratio, which is obtained at the image plane using the input wavefront that is characterized by low and high spatial frequency. uency.

  • Advancements in silicon phase control (SCR) technologies provide an arc welding power supply that has the capability to allow the alteration of the Alternating Current (AC) welding output. These technologies provide a square wave output involving sixteen frequency selections and multiple balance selections. While an AC out put is known to minimize magnetic disturbances associate with Direct Current (DC), the potentials of a non-sinusoidal waveform have not been explored. The focus of the paper is to determine the effects that the frequency and balance of an AC wave form output will have upon a high speed Submerge Arc (SAW) application. The test matrix of the project includes welding .250" steel plate. Joint type is square groove with a travel speed of 65 IPM. Each of the weld parameters was held constant, only the frequency and/or balance were altered between welds. Each frequency/balance combination involved three-gap spacing. Upon completion of the welds the bead profiles were measured and recorded. A relationships/trends were observed with various frequency and balance values. Optimum frequency and balance values were found for the .250" square groove application which permit consistent weld sizing, ease of slag removal, and minimal plate distortion.
