This study was conducted to investigate the effects of health lifestyle on high protein snack selection attributes and purchase behaviors among individuals aged 20-30 with high protein snack intake. In addition, the relationship between perception, attitude, satisfaction and recommendation of high protein snacks was invested. Finally, this study aims to provide basic information for marketing high-protein snacks and customized high protein snacks. Analysis of the selection attributes most important for healthy lifestyle, revealed significant differences among all groups excluding the external seeking group (p<0.001). The free living group regarded trust as one of the most important attributes of high protein snack selection, and both the tempered control group and the low-interest group found sensation and price factor to be important. Therefore, when developing high-protein snacks, it is important to determine which attributes of the snack will be highlighted by segmenting the consumer into health lifestyles. Focusing on what ingredients are used to develop high-protein snacks and nutritional ingredients is also important when targeting a free lifestyle group as the main customer. In addition, developing snacks that do not offer depending on the protein content is important when targeting a temperate management group or a low-interest group.
This study was carried out to compare the dietary behaviors and the nutrient intake of a middle school and a high school girls in Iksan. The subjects consisted of 132 middle school girls and 122 high school girls in Iksan. The proportion of subjects eating meals irregularly was higher in the high school girls (98.6%) than in the middle school girls(78.7%). The proportion of subjects skipping a meal also was higher in the high school girls(61.5%) than in the middle school girls(53.8%) and most of them (65.8%) skipped breakfast though they thought breakfast was the most important meal of a day (87.4%). The subjects tended to overeat at lunch (38.6%), and at dinner (55.9%). The main reasons of skipping a meal were 1. They had no time (49.3%), and 2. They had poor appetite (24.7%) Mean daily energy intake was 2198.5Kcal in the middle school girls and 2150.5Kcal in the high school girls and mean daily intake of protein, iron, vitamin $B_1$, vitamin $B_2$ and niacin was significantly higher (p<0.05, p<0.01) in the middle school girls than in the high school girls. Mean daily calcium, iron, vitamin $B_1$, vitamin A and C intake of middle school girls were lower than those of RDA and all nutrients intake of high school girls except for phosphorus was lower than those of RDA. The index of nutritional quality (INQ) was under 1.0 for calcium, iron, vitamin A, $B_1$ and C. Mean blood level of cholesterol, triglyceride, Hb, Hct, GOT, GPT were 170.9mg/dl, 78.9mg/dl, 13.1g/dl, 39.5%, 18.8mg/d and 15.7mg/dl, respectively.
During the search for neuraminidase inhibitors from medicinal fungi, we found that the culture broth of Phellinus linteus exhibited potent inhibitory activity. Solvent partition, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were performed for purification of two active substances from the culture broth. According to $^1H$ NMR measurements and comparison of HPLC retention times with those of authentic compounds, their chemical structures were identified as hispidin and hypholomine B. Compounds (hispidin) 1 and 2 (hypholomine B) inhibited neuraminidase, with $IC_{50}$ values of 13.1 and 0.03 ${\mu}M$, respectively.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been manufactured in recent years and widely used in various fields. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), which occur in AgNPs, destroy cell membranes. It is widely accepted that ROS generated in this manner inhibit microorganisms growth and causes toxic effects, However, it does not affect cell membranes directly but positively affects growth in plants with cell walls. The nanoball used in this experiment is a new material that generates ROS stably and is used in aqueous solution. Results of this study indicate a 30% increase in yield of Ginseng mixed with culture soil. The analysis of soil condition after cultivation showed that the possibility of repetitive cultivation in soil mixed with Nanoball was high. This suggests that Nanoball is an antimicrobial active material due to the microbial / extermination effect of pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, there may be potential applications in agricultural cultivation sites as a repetitive cultivation technology that reuses soil.
To determine the effect of ERp57 expression on thrombopoiein (TPO) productivity in recombinant Chinese hamster ovary (rCHO) cells, TPO producing rCHO cell line with doxycycline-regulated ERp57 expression \Vas developed. The Erp57 expression level could be regulated by addition of different concentrations of doxycycline to culture medium. The doxycycline concentration of I ${\mu}g/mL$ was high enough to suppress the ERp57 expression. Up to 5 ${\mu}g/mL$ doxycycline concentration used in culture medium, no observable cytotoxic effect of doxycycline was detected during culture. Overexpression of ERp57 、 vas found to increase the specific TPO productivity ($q_{Tpo}$) without growth inhibition, probably due to the chaperone-like activity of ERp57 in CHO cells.
Recently, a lot of domestic construction companies have implemented Knowledge Management System. However, most of the knowledge in the construction fields still cannot written down on papers, and it is just locked in people's heads. The purpose of this study was to analyze the current situation of knowledge sharing in the construction fields. For this research, questionnaires were distributed and the results of this study was as follows; the essential factor of successful knowledge sharing is not introducing a high quality of electronic system but developing culture of knowledge sharing. When positive culture of knowledge sharing is combined with technical infrastructure, knowledge sharing will be actively promoted.
Micromanipulation and fusion are essential to generate nuclear transfer embryos. In this process cytoplasmic damage is unavoidable. This study investigated the hypothesis that higher osmolarity than normal culture medium could help oocytes recover from cytoplasmic damage from micromanipulation and electric pulse. Oocytes derived from a local slaughter house were matured for 42 ∼ 44 h and enucleated. (omitted)
Human leptin is identified as a 16kDa (146 amino acids) protein secreted from adipocytes which influences body weight homeostasis. In order to produce active leptin, the human obese gene coding for leptin was expressed in Bacillus subtilis WB600 strain which is deficient in six extracellular proteases. The recombinant leptin was produced in a culture supernatant, and in a culture supernatant, it was contained as high as 48% for total proteins. After simple purification steps, which consisted of ammonium sulfate precipitation and anion-exchange column chromatography, 2.3 mg of leptin with a purity greater than 95% was obtained from the 0.51 culture with the recovery yield of 38.3%. The purified leptin showed the correct folding structure with one disulfied bond.
Effects of titrated extract of Centella asiatica (TECA) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) isolated from the urine of pregnant horse on the proliferation of human epidermal keratinocyte in culture were studied. An increase in the number of keratinocyte was observed with the treatment of TECA at the concentration ranges from 1 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι to 100 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι. Effects of low molecular weight EGF (LEGF) and high molecular weight EGF (HEGF) on the proliferation of keratinocyte in culture were also studied. The number of keratinocyte in culture was significantly increased with LEGF and HEGF respectively at the concentration of 10 ng/mι. Simultaneous treatment of the keratinocyte with LEGF, HEGF and TECA led to the increased proliferation of keratinocytes resulting 96% of the effect of a positive control, EGF isolated from mouse submaxillary glands.
To develop new elicitors inducing the high productivity of taxane derivatives, plant growth inhibitors, namely, maleic acid hydrazide, N-phosphomethyl glycine and succinic acid 2.2-dimethyl hydrazide, coconut milk and yeast extract were administrated in the cell suspension culture system of Taxus cuspidata, and the production of baccatin III were analysed. The effects of amino acid related with the biosynthesis of baccatin III were also examined in these culture system. As the results, a remarkable enhancement of baccatin III production was observed in the cultivation with coconut water and with maleic acid hydrazide.
