Multi-Slice Joint Task Offloading and Resource Allocation Scheme for Massive MIMO Enabled Network

  • The rapid development of mobile communication not only has made the industry gradually diversified, but also has enhanced the service quality requirements of users. In this regard, it is imperative to consider jointly network slicing and mobile edge computing. The former mainly ensures the requirements of varied vertical services preferably, and the latter solves the conflict between the user's own energy and harsh latency. At present, the integration of the two faces many challenges and need to carry out at different levels. The main target of the paper is to minimize the energy consumption of the system, and introduce a multi-slice joint task offloading and resource allocation scheme for massive multiple input multiple output enabled heterogeneous networks. The problem is formulated by collaborative optimizing offloading ratios, user association, transmission power and resource slicing, while being limited by the dissimilar latency and rate of multi-slice. To solve it, assign the optimal problem to two sub-problems of offloading decision and resource allocation, then solve them separately by exploiting the alternative optimization technique and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions. Finally, a novel slices task offloading and resource allocation algorithm is proposed to get the offloading and resource allocation strategies. Numerous simulation results manifest that the proposed scheme has certain feasibility and effectiveness, and its performance is better than the other baseline scheme.

  • This paper presents a fast IP mobility management scheme in heterogeneous networks using the multiple wireless network interlaces. More specifically, in order to minimize the packet loss and handover latency due to handover, the E-HMIPv6, IETF HMIPv6 has been extended, is presented where the multiple tunnels between E-MAP and mobile node are dynamically constructed. E-HMIPv6 is composed of the extension of IETF HMIPv6 MAP, handover procedure, and simultaneous multiple tunnels. In order to demonstrate superior to the proposed method, the NS-2 simulation has done for performance evaluation of TCP and UDP-based application comparison with the existing mobility management method.

  • According to the progress of multimedia technology and growth of high speed network, plenty of multimedia contents are produced and in circulation. Because of these reasons, it is required that the method which can manage efficiently and make multimedia contents, for which are saved in Storage as different used, synchronize. In this paper, the metadata schema that can manage the method with being database using each Device metadata that are produced by extracting the needed information to multimedia contents is suggested. And the method that can make synchronized multimedia contents metadata on connecting between heterogeneous devices is proposed.

Optimal Vertical Handover Control Policies for Cooperative Wireless Networks

  • Inter-operability between heterogeneous radio access technologies (RATs), in the sense of seamless vertical han-dover (VHO) support with common radio resource management (CRRM) functionalities, has recently attracted a significant research attention and has become a prominent issue in standardization fora. In this paper, we formulate the problem of load balancing between cooperative RAT's as a mathematical program and by trading off a pre-defined delay tolerance per request we propose a vertical handover batch processing (VHBP) scheme. To quantify the performance of the proposed VHBP scheme we compare it with a baseline processing scheme, where each VHO request is processed independently under a number of different network scenarios. Numerical investigations reveal significant net benefits of the proposed scheme compared with the baseline, both in terms of achieved load balancing levels but also with regard to the acceptance rate of the VHO requests.

  • Although there exist many middlewares such as Havi, Jini, LonWorks, UPnP, and SLP, new middlewares specialized for diverse information appliances are expected to appear continuously as home networks evolve. In this paper, we examine an integrated architecture for supporting interoperability among heterogeneous middlewares under home network, we also propose and implement a scenario-based user-oriented integrated architecture for efficient home automation which is different from existing methods. HOMI(Homenetwork Middleware for Interoperability) architecture proposed in this paper provides interfaces that assist users with designing and modifying desirable scenarios using a script interpreter language HOMIL(HOMI Language). Different from an existing integrated middleware architecture, HOMI improves efficiency and convenience of interoperation between heterogeneous appliances for home automation allowing users to design and organize scenarios through these interfaces. HOMI classifies interoperation services into time contort, synchronization context, and asynchronization context and helps to execute next services considering contexts when a specific event occurs. Applying modified scenarios immediately to home network environment, HOMI provides users with seamless services without installing new applications, updating the server, or rebooting in order to adopt new scenarios. Lastly, distribution agents into several devices, we solved the overhead problem occurred in a centralized architecture for integrated middleware.

  • These days, in order to satisfy the complex and various demands of the customers, the telecommunication networks must provide rapid and flexible services, with the support of efficient service and network management systems. To satisfy these requirements, many objects for management have been released to manage network services and elements. But there are no efficient ways to manage these newly managed objects in object-oriented software. Therefore, we study several problems, when a subsystem using object-oriented technique is implemented. The first problem is that interface works between realized application programs using its technique. The second problem is that reusability of internal managed objects is difficult. In this paper, we will point out some problems and to solve these problems, we have proposed the Object Management System (OMS) architecture, which supports a transparent interface between object-oriented applications and the distributed data repositories. Also in order to manage efficient business objects stored in the different repositories, we suggest a method for integrating dynamic information resources in heterogeneous and distributed network environments. Finally, we applied OMS to TINA(Telecommunication Information Network Architecture) domain, implemented OMS, and verified it with SMV(Symbolic Model Verifier) which is model checking technology.

  • Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) algorithms play an important role in ensuring quality of service in an integrated HetNets (Heterogeneous Networks). The primary objective of this paper is to develop a multi-criteria vertical handoff decision algorithm (VHDA) for best access network selection in an integrated Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)/Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS)/Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) system. The proposed design consists of two parts, the first part is the evaluation of an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to decide the relative weights of handoff decision criteria and the second part computes the final score of the weights to rank network alternatives using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). SAW ranks the network alternatives in a faster and simpler manner than AHP. The AHP-SAW mathematical model has been designed, evaluated and simulated for streaming video type of traffic. For other traffic type, such as conversational, background and interactive, only simulation results have been discussed and presented in brief. Simulation results reveal that the hierarchical modelling and computing provides optimum solution for access network selection in an integrated environment as obtained results prove to be an acceptable solution to what could be expected in real life scenarios.

Optimal Price Strategy Selection for MVNOs in Spectrum Sharing: An Evolutionary Game Approach

  • The optimal price strategy selection of two bounded rational cognitive mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) in a duopoly spectrum sharing market is investigated. The bounded rational operators dynamically compete to sell the leased spectrum to secondary users in order to maximize their profits. Meanwhile, the secondary users' heterogeneous preferences to rate and price are taken into consideration. The evolutionary game theory (EGT) is employed to model the dynamic price strategy selection of the MVNOs taking into account the response of the secondary users. The behavior dynamics and the evolutionary stable strategy (ESS) of the operators are derived via replicated dynamics. Furthermore, a reward and punishment mechanism is developed to optimize the performance of the operators. Numerical results show that the proposed evolutionary algorithm is convergent to the ESS, and the incentive mechanism increases the profits of the operators. It may provide some insight about the optimal price strategy selection for MVNOs in the next generation cognitive wireless networks.

  • In heterogeneous networks SVC (Scalabile Video Coding) will be used for IPTV service. This paper analyses how to determine the optimal inter-layer reference scheme according to final level to be displayed in hybrid scalable coding which consists of spatial, quality and temporal layer. It determines where to stop layering quality layer stacks in lower spatial layer according to the relationship between noise induced by loss of high frequency component eliminated by filter in order to get rid of aliasing when spatial layering is processed and noise induced by quantization when quality layering is processed. This paper shows the choice of the level of layering between spatial and quality to get better coding efficiency and then presents what is needed for determining it.
