An Effect of Heat Input on Thermal Storage for Horizontal Thermal Storage Tank with Heat pipe (열 파이프용 수평 축열조에서의 열 입력이 축열에 미치는 영향)

  • The horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe which is suitable for the sensible heat storage system is able to store a hot water from the heat source such as heating pad efficiently and to supply a hot water to load rapidly. And arrangement of heating pad play an important role in thermal flow and thermal storage efficiency. In this experiments, number of heating pad is ranged from three, five and nine, and when there is no change on number of heating pad, arrangements are two types of concentration-type and dispersion-type. Strong entrainment take place in the case of concentration-type of heating pad, and rapid temperature rise(${\Delta}{\doteqdot}1.6{\sim}3.2^{\circ}C$) in the tank is obtainable on the concentration-type than dispersion-type. In the constant number of heating pad, the concentration-type has the higher efficiency with about $5{\sim}6%$ than the dispersion-type Therefore, concentration-type of heating pad is an efficient design in constant number of heating pad.

So, if effective arrangement is decided for condition of constant number of heating pad, the more rapid thermal flow effect and higher thermal storage efficiency is obtainable by active heat transfer. In this experiments, number of heating pad is ranged from three, five and nine, and when number of heating pad is constant, arrangement are two types of concentration-type and dispersion-type. As a result, for the case of concentration-type of heating pad, strong entrainment take place in horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe by active heat transfer and in the constant number of heating pad, the concentration-type has the higher efficiency with about 5∼6% than the dispersion-type. Therefore, when heating pad is equipted to horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe, concentration-type of heating pad is an efficient design in constant number. of heating pad.

  • Fully depleted Silicon-on-Insulator (FD-SOI) devices lead to better electrical characteristics than bulk CMOS devices. However, the presence of a thin top silicon layer and a buried SiO2 layer causes self-heating due to the low thermal conductivity of the buried oxide. The electrical characteristics of FDSOI devices strongly depend on the path of heat dissipation. In this paper, we present a new three-dimensional (3-D) analysis technique for the self-heating effect of the finger-type and bar-type transistors. The 3-D analysis results show that the drain current of the finger-type transistor is 14.7% smaller than that of the bar-type transistor due to the 3-D self-heating effect. We have learned that the rate of current degradation increases significantly when the width of a transistor is smaller that a critical value in a finger-type layout. The current degradation fro the 3-D structures of the finger-type and bar-type transistors is investigated and the design issues are also discussed.

  • In this study, surface spalling and explosive spalling of ring-type ultra-high strength concrete under rapid heating and slow heating were investigated. In rapid heating, the internal temperature difference of the concrete is large, so that continuous surface spalling occurs. However, in slow heating, the difference in the internal temperature of the concrete is small, resulting in explosive spalling at a time. Since the heating condition has a great influence on the internal temperature of the concrete, it is necessary to consider the spalling of the concrete under various heating conditions.

  • Electric energy is indispensible of the development of the industrial and living sector. Among the energy sectors, the building area shares 20% of the produced electric power in Korea. As we plan to supply the apartment, we need to forecast the required amount of the electric energy and supply the infrastructure to apartment for the lighting, cooling. Nonetheless, it is not easy to forecast the required amount of the electric energy, considering the management aspect, building physical aspect and social-geographic aspect. In this paper, it studied the estimation model of the electric energy, reflecting the affecting variables such as total area, number of household, geography and so on. The estimation model is proposed in 3-types which explained in central heating, individual heating and district heating, and each type have two estimation model, reflecting the affecting variable and corelation between variables to eliminate the muticolinearity. The unit of electric energy consumption per area and year is similar in three heating type and the results are as follows; the central heating is $34.446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$, individual type is $35.756446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$ and district heating is $34.285446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$.

A Study on Comparison of Capacity between Wet.Dry Floor Heating Systems Using Geothermal Heat Pump (지열히트펌프를 이용한 습식.건식 바닥난방 성능평가 연구)

  • The present study conducted comparative evaluation of wet dry floor heating systems using geothermal heat pump. Circulation hot water from geothermal heat pump which is $10{\sim}15^{\circ}C$ lower than that from boiler was used. In order to access indoor temperature ($25^{\circ}C$) it took 74 minutes for dry type and 247 minutes for wet type. Average floor temperature was $23.89^{\circ}C$ for wet type and $32.66^{\circ}C$ for dry type. Energy saving rate gradually increased by 66% after 138 minutes. In the results, for floor heating system using low temperature circulation water, wet type was not enough to meet stable and comfortable radiant floor heating due to low floor temperature and access time to indoor set temperature. While dry type was practicable for stable floor heating due to fast rise of indoor set temperature and comfortable floor temperature.

  • This article investigated the effects of stainless steel plate-patterns bonded to aluminum frypan on the thermal distortion and surface temperature of the frypan during gas or induction heating. Two different stainless steel plate-patterns were employed: type A contains only circular holes and type B has not only circular holes but also vacant spaces of 0.5 mm thick and 40 mm long straight line crossing 60 mm long curved line. The bottom of the frypan was distorted during heating when type A stainless steel plate-bonded frypan while no significant thermal distortion was observed for type B stainless steel plate-bonded frypan during heating. Temperature of the frypan surface showed the same trend during gas heating, irrespective of stainless steel plate-patterns. During induction heating, however, the frypan with type B stainless steel plate-pattern showed lower surface temperature than the frypan with type A stainless steel plate-pattern. It is concluded that Type B stainless steel plate-pattern with circular holes and vacant spaces of lines is very effective for minimizing a thermal distortion and lowering the surface temperature of an aluminum frypan during induction heating.

  • By the influence of ageing population, the well-being trend, and the increase of interest in health, people seems to be enjoying sports and outdoor life more. Followed by the change of consumers' life style, the interest in smart clothing grafting scientific technology has increased, and research on this subject is necessary. This study is to develop improved design of band type heating vests by grasping the weak point of currently sold heating vest designed by the manufacturer. Through this process, satisfaction of the consumer and the manufacturer can be increased. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Conducted a demand survey with the manufacturer and wearing evaluation test with the consumer on band type heating vests. 2) Suggested design drafts on band type heating vests for both genders reflecting demand survey results. 3) Conducted consumers' preference survey for design drafts. 4) Made the sample product, and then conducted an evaluation of wearing the actual product. Overall, the wearing test results showed high satisfaction for both genders.

  • In order to provide basic references for the design of heating on simple silkworm rearing house, the actual change of heating load coefficient by progress of adult silkworm rearing day from the reared in silkworm rearing house, the heating load coefficient by types of silkworm rearing houses and the heating requirement and the maximum heating load by types of silkworm rearing houses were determined. The results obtained from the study were as follows : 1. The average heating load coefficients of NS, OS and CC type simple silkworm rearing houses were $24.1KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, $19.8KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, and $10.8KJ/m^2-hr-^{\circ}C$, respectively. 2. The change of heating load coefficient by progress of silkworm rearing day after reared into simple silkworm rearing house could be expressed as Fig. 4. 3. Heating degree-hour for adult silkworm rearing in Suweon district was calculated as $951.6^{\circ}C-hr$ for spring season and $610.5^{\circ}C-hr$ for autumn season. 4. Yearly heating requirement of the NS type was estimated twice more than that of the CC type. Thus, some kinds of reinforced thermal adiabatic facilities is desirable for NS type. 5. The time for maximum heating load was turned out at the 4th instar during the spring season and after the mounting during the autumn season. 6. This study was performed in Suweon district. However, the estimated and analyzed data could be adapted to the major silkworm rearing district if their meteorology data were adjusted.
