The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary behavior on the nutritional status of university students in Korea. A dietary intake survey of 603 university students (223 males and 380 females) was conducted using a 24-hour recall method. The resulting data on dietary behavior and nutrient intakes were analyzed by the SAS program package. The main results were as follows : 1) Most of the subjects were in their twenties and no obese cases were found. 2) Dietary intake data showed that, except for vitamin C in the female students, the average daily intakes of most nutrients did lot meet the Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). The study also showed that most of the subjects, especially the female students, were concerned about having satisfactory physical appearances. Fat provided 25% of the daily energy intake, and this level was higher than the 20% recommended by the Korean Dietary Guidelines. In the female students, the iron intake from animal foods was lower than that from plant foods. 3) Male students were not very serious about healthy eating. However, the female group, who obtained a high score in dietary behavior, consumed more vegetables and had higher intakes of energy, protein, Ca, p, vitamin A, and vitamin C than the male group, even though they did not meet the Korean RDA in most nutrients. Energy intake from fats, as a percent of total energy intake, was lower than in the group of females who obtained higher stores in dietary behavior than the other groups. To sum up, the university students surveyed in this study were found to have the typical dietary behavior of young adults, such as frequent eating out and snacking. Female students were extremely conscious of their body images this can exert an important direct influence on their dietary intakes and health status. It is very important for university students to develop healthy lifestyles and desirable dietary behaviors, to best enable them to continue to lead a healthy lift: in their later years.
The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between conflict coping behavior and the health of the family of origin in both male and female subjects currently in the dating population. The subjects consisted of 250 single male and female who had been dating for more than three months. A survey was used to collect the data and results of survey were analyzed by the SPSS PC 12.0 program. The study results are as follows; First, a conflict coping behavior with variable that is related to a socio-demographic was associated with significant differences in the manner of receiving assistance from external resource in terms of gender, education level, religion and age. The rational coping behavior showed significant changes in gender, and shrinking coping behavior was associated with also gender and sibling. Second, rational coping skills and shrinking coping skills, which are date-associated variables in comflict coping behavior, were influencing factors in the individuals' consideration of a future-relationship with their partner. Third, the health of the family of origin was associated with the manner in which the individual acquired external assistance and rational coping behavior.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Sexual Knowledge and Sexual Attitude on the Sexual Coping Behavior among university students and presents basic data for helping healthy Sexual Culture. Methods: A survey was held to the university students in Seoul and Chungcheong cities from April 11 to April 25, 2016. of 237 copies were in the final analysis. For data analysis, SPSS 21.0 for Windows was used. Results: As a result, there were correlations between variables, Sexual Coping Behavior of University students were affected by the gender, distorted sex, have the experience of sexual intercourse and accepted sex. Conclusions: It is need to development program and counseling for establishment of the healthy sex culture of university students.

This study tried to analyze influencing factors on self-perceived health status(SPHS) of labors in workplace. and suggested the preventive oriental medicine approaches in occupational health care. 914 data for research were collected through the process of oriental health examination with questionnaire in workplace and collected data were analyzed with frequency, homogeneity and correlation statistically. The results were as follows : 1) The distributions of SPHS was 58.4% of healthy group. 41.6% of unhealthy group. 2) For the difference of SPHS by stress, the high level stress group was more included in healthy group(p<0.05). 3. For the difference of SPHS by health behavior. the higher score of health behavior group was more included in healthy group. There was statistically significant difference of SPHS in physical exercise, but not in smoking, drinking, sleeping and body mass index. 4. For the difference of SPHS by the latest health examination results, non-disease group was more included in healthy group, while disease group was more included in unhealthy group. From the above results, SPHS was influenced by stress, health behavior, the latest health examination results. Therefore oriental medical service for occupational health must be interested in the these influencing factors and make an effort to change their perception of health as well as physical improvement.
Objectives: Analysis and understanding on the health trend of college and university students are paramount to creating healthy campus communities. We evaluated the change of health status, health behavior, and influencing factors among them in the last ten years. Methods: Using the results of the ACHA-National College Health Assessment from 2000 to 2009, we reanalyzed the trend of health condition, health behavior, and health risk factors in linear regression model. Results: In general health of college and university students, major health problem were allergy problems, back pain, and sinus infection. Academic impacts were stress, sleep difficulties, cold/flu, concern for troubled friend or family member, relationship difficulty, and internet use or computer games. Although regular exercise was decreasing among them, it were more likely to have never smoking, no sexual partner, and eating of fruits/vegetables as time passed (p<0.05, p<0.01). Obesity and sleeping difficulty were increasing, while it were less likely to have feeling very sad, feeling hopelessness, and considering attempting suicide (p<0.05, p<0.01). Conclusion: These data expand the understanding of the health needs and capacities among young adults. For Korean college and university students, it is necessary to standardize the data-collection survey to set the college health and healthy campus.
The purpose of this study was to explore the influencing factors of consumption behavior of healthy functional foods including vitamin/mineral products for overweight and obese Koreans. Overweight and obese Koreans were selected based on the body mass index(BMI) from the KNHANES that was collected in 2007. Probit estimation model was used to find the influencing factors such as age, gender, job, education, income, nutrition education, and cultural capital(parents' education) on consuming the healthy functional foods. Overweight consumers were found to consume vitamin/mineral products and healthy functional foods at 17.5% and 22.7%, respectively. Obese consumers were found to consume vitamin/mineral products and healthy functional foods at 18.2% and 22.8%, respectively. In addition, self decision was found to be a significant factor to consume both products in both groups. Nutritional education and job were significant factors to consume vitamin/mineral products in overweight consumers, while mother's education and job(service) were significant factors in obese consumers. Weight control for body shape, gender, age, and income were significant factors to consume healthy functional foods in overweight consumers, while nutrition label and perceived health status were significant for obese consumers. Therefore, providing consumer information on functional foods might be useful for consumers to consider the healthy functional foods as an available option to purchase. Various influencing factors between two groups might be concerned to develop different strategies for promoting the healthy functional foods consumption including vitamin/mineral products.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine nurses' healthy behaviors during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and related factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was adapted, and data were collected from 300 hospital nurses between August and November 2021. The nurses' characteristics, healthy behaviors, COVID-19 stress levels, health self-efficacy, and nursing professional pride were self-reported using structured questionnaires. Multivariable linear regressions were conducted to identify factors related to nurses' healthy behaviors. Results: Healthy lifestyle was the lowest among the subscales of healthy behaviors. Nurses' healthy behaviors were related to age (B=0.15, p=.021), COVID-19 stress level (B=-0.08, p=.007), nursing professional pride (B=0.19, p<.001), and health self-efficacy (B=0.38, p<.001). Conclusion: To enhance nurses' healthy lifestyles during the pandemic, organizational support is needed, such as ensuring facilities for rest or physical activities accessible from the hospital and supplying healthy food in hospitals. Younger nurses, nurses with high levels of COVID-19 stress, and nurses with lower health self-efficacy may benefit from hospital organizations that provide more support and guidance in promoting health behaviors. Furthermore, hospital organizations should promote professional pride by empowering nurses' efforts and reinforcing their values.
The purpose of this study is to examine the heath status and health behavior of middle-aged Korean men and women. Even though there has been increased concern about extremely high mortality rate of Korean middle-aged men and mental health problems of middle aged women, there is a dearth of empirical studies which examine the health status and health behavior of middle-aged men and women in Korea. This study attempts to fill these gaps. Data gathered from 1,667 men and women aged between 30-59 are analyzed to examine the level of physical health, mental health, perceived health and health behavior and to explore the gender and age group differences in these aspects. The results show that there exist gender difference and age group difference in health status: Women are less healthy than men and as age increased health status declined. Women at their 50s are least healthy and most unhappy suggesting age and gender interaction in health status. There exist a gender difference in health behavior: Men have regular check-ups more frequently than women and exercise more. These results are discussed in terms of the gender differences in the experiences, social roles and life styles over the life course.
This survey was conducted to compare the housewife's food habit and food purchase behavior on healthy dietary life. The questionnaires were collected from 151 working housewives and 159 housewives in Daejeon. The average meal time was 20~30 min., 67.6% of respondents ate breakfast and bap with guk(72.9%) was the most favourite foods. Almost half of them ate egg, fruit, vegetable everyday. They concerned highly about less intake of frozen foods(64.2%) and food additives(61.6%) for wellbeing dietary life. Because of close distance and various foods items, big discount store was chosen as food purchase place. The most considering purchase factor was food additives in working housewife and nutrition in housewife(p<0.05). In grocery shopping, working housewife considered children and their husbands(p<0.05). The most important purchase factor was the freshness in vegetables fishes fruits seaweeds eggs. TV or Radio was utilized the most frequently to obtain the useful knowledge on healthy foods. It is suggested that practical information should be offered housewives to purchase proper foods within their income and to manage dietary life according to their family's health condition.
This study aims to investigate both general dietary behaviors and clinical symptoms of diet related effects among fifth grade students at an elementary school in Ulsan Metropolitan City, and to categorize those relationships in terms of their comparative differences. The findings of this study are as follows. 1. Out of 694 students polled, 53.7% were of boys and 46.2% were girls with average age of $11.9{\pm}0.3$, average height of $145.1{\pm}6.8cm$, and average weight of $39.7{\pm}9.7kg$. Obesity in boys (5.5%) exceeded girls (3.9%) whereas children categorized as underweight showed girls (14.6%) slightly exceeded boys (10.4%). 2. Dietary behaviors were largely the result of four factors - unbalanced diet, balanced diet, protein and fruits and healthy dietary habits. Of these factors, protein and fruits ($4.04{\pm}1.03$) ranked first, balanced diet ($3.38{\pm}1.04$) second, healthy dietary habits ($3.04{\pm}1.01$) third and unbalanced diet ($2.23{\pm}0.6$) ranked last. 3. When Dietary behaviors were classified with four low ranking factors, they were divided into four types such as convenience (22.4%), good diet (24.7%), busy contemporary modern man (24.3%) and healthy dietary habits (26%). 4. Clinical symptoms include colds ($2.27{\pm}1.15$) followed by headaches ($2.17{\pm}1.19$), stomachaches ($2.16{\pm}1.15$), dizziness ($2.02{\pm}1.15$), atopic allergy ($1.95{\pm}1.30$), prevalence for cold sores ($1.86{\pm}1.07$), allergy ($1.65{\pm}1.05$), and constipation ($1.54{\pm}0.87$). 5. According to the results, clinical symptoms were divided into two groups - unhealthy (40.1%) and healthy (59.9%). 6. By analyzing the relationship between dietary behavior types and clinical symptom types, the convenience factor included slightly more of the unhealthy group (56.3%), whereas the good diet (71.1%), busy contemporary modern person (55.8%) and healthy dietary habits (69.7%) included more of healthy group (p<.001). Since the majority of students belonging to the unhealthy group had convenience dietary behavior, education about desirable dietary activities is needed for these students. In addition, nutrition information and information on possible clinical symptoms caused by nutritional imbalance should be provided for students and their households.
