The purpose of this study is to assess the ability of balance control in moving surround using head mount device and force platform and to examine the clinical usefulness of COP parameters. Fifteen patients with stroke and healthy persons were participated. COP parameters were obtained as total path distance, frequency of anterior-posterior and medial-lateral component by FFT analysis, weight-spectrum analysis in the two different conditions; (1) in comfortable standing with opened or closed eyes, (2) in virtual moving surround delivered using HMD to four different moving pattern. In virtual moving surround setting, moving pattern was composed of close-far, superior-inferior tilting(pitch), right-left tilting(roll) and horizontal rotation(yaw) movement. In all parameters, the reliebility of COP analysis system was significantly high. Also, the construct validity compared between fifteen patients with stroke and normal persons was excellent in virtual moving surround condition(p
This study aims to compare and analyze somatotype characteristics in clothing ergonomics as well as Sasang (Oriental physical constitution type classification into 4 kinds: taeyang, taeeum, soyang, soeum) medicine. The subjects were women collegians in their 20s. As a result, a new approach was made in somatotype classification. The following are conclusions: 1. The results of body measurement of the subjects belonged to 1 in most items when they were compared with the average records of female adults in their 20s in the national standard physique report. Thus, the subjects belonged to the average somatotype. 2. According to Sasang physical constitution classification, no subjects belonged to taeyang-type. Taeeum type (28.4%), had lower-body development greatest height and even development in width, thickness and girth. Soeum-type(37.8%) had the smallest physique. Soyang-type(33.8%) showed small values in height but great values in width, thickness and girth. 3. The factor analysis revealed 5 factors of somatotype characteristics: lower body factors including body weight, upper body factors, height factors including stature, belly width factors including waist and belly, and other factors comprising ankle and head size. 4. A cluster analysis by way of factor scores resulted in 3 types: cluster 1 44.6%, biggest values, largest somatotypes; cluster 2 17.6%, average somatotypes; cluster 3 tiniest somatotypes in most items. 5. In the crosstabs analysis, taeeum-type (57.6%) appeared a lot in cluster 1, soyang-type (76.9%) appeared most in cluster 2, and soeum-type (69.9%) was mostly seen in cluster 3. To sum up, the somatotype analysis of clothing ergonomics had something to do with constitution classification suggested in Sasang medicine. For clear justification, more systematic and scientific research should be followed with even more diverse subjects in sex and age.
The fishing hooks were tested for breaking and unbending due to plastic deformation of the material. Study of tensile test is not complicated, but has not even worked out fully enough, especially when the test specimen is subjected to plastic deformation. The fishing hook is subjected to unbending stress and the critical section is a Point which is furthest from the line of action of the forces. The dynamic force of fish during jerks depends on their speed of movement and body weight, the kinetic energy corresponding to it and also on the rlastic displacement of the rigging which absorb the energy. Six kinds of hook were tested by the dynamometer under tensile speed 290mm/min (subscript s) and 780mm/min (subscript f). According to their results, the breaking load(B: kg) can be induced with the formula $B={\alpha}wd^2+\beta$ where w(mm) is the distance between the barb base and the lower shank and d(mm) is diameter. The coefficients of the formula for the round hooks(R) and the angular hooks(A) are approximately as follows: $$R:\;\alpha_{s}=0.5,\;\beta_{s}=1.6,\;\alpha_{f}=0.4,\;\beta_{f}=1.4$$$$A:\;\alpha_{s}=1.1,\;\beta_{s}=2.0,\;\alpha_{f}=1.0,\;\beta_{f}=0.9$$ The ratio of $B_{f}\;to\;B_{s}$ is corresponding to 0.8. The ratio of deformation(X) that is moved distance of barb base at break to the distance(H) between head base and barb base is about $50\%$. Further study should be carried out on the subject of impact and fatigue test under the same condition which is exerted force by the hooked fish.
PURPOSE This studied the biomechanical body segment parameters of Korean adults with reference to Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM). We anlyzed the characteristics of Sasang constitution through Body Measurement, Immersion Method, and Reaction Board Method. SUBJECT Subjects were 72 persons. There were made 49 and Female 23. Mean age was . And There were Taeumin 30, Soyangin 17, and Soeumin 25. METHOD The items of Body Measurement were 51. Limbs were measured right side. Volume was gained with Immersion Method and Weight was calculated with the density equation for limbs from Drills and Contini. Center of Mass was gained with Reaction Board Method. RESULT 1. In Body Measurement there were the significant differences with each constitution of man's circumference. 2. In Volume there were the significant differences between Taeumin and Soeumin in mand. And the volume rate of head and neck, hand, and foot was the lowest in Taeumin, but the highest in Soeumin. 3. In center of mass Soyangin was higher than others.
In this study, the immunomodulating effects of levamisole, selenium and tocopherol on blood neutrophils and peritoneal macrophages of goat were evaluated in vitro and in vivo. The functions of blood neutrophils and peritoneal macrophages were assayed by random and direct migration, phagocytosis of S aureus, production of superoxide and hydrogen peroxide. The results obtained were summarized as follows: In vitro trials 1. Levamisole treatment enhanced the random and direct migration of goat blood neutrophils when compared with untreated cell, and a significant (p<0.01) enhancement was noticed at the concentration of $100{\mu}g$ for direct migration and $50{\mu}g{\sim}1,000{\mu}g\;per\;ml$ of culture medium for random migration. There was no influence of selenium and tocopherol on random and direct migration of neutrophil at all of treatment concentration. 2. Neutrophils produced higher levels of superoxide by lcvamisole treatment at the concentration of $100{\mu}g$ and by selenium treatment at the concentration of $1.0{\mu}g$, but the production of hydrogen peroxide was not increased. Tocopherol had no effect on the production of antimicrobicidal oxygen metabolites of neutrophils at various concentrations. 3. No differences of phagocytic activity were observed when neutrophils were treated with three substances. In vivo trials 1. Blood neutrophils of goats orally administered levaraisole showed significantly (p<0.05) higher random migration from 2 to 24 hours after feeding (2.5mg/kg of body weight). Augmentation of random migration of neutrophil from goats orally administered selenium-tocopherol mixture (selenium $100{\mu}g$-tocopherol 200IU/head/day) was observed at 10 days and the significant (p<0.05) increase was shown from 30 days after feeding and continued throughout the feeding periods. 2. There was no effect on phagocytic activity and production of antimicrobicidal oxygen metabolites of neutrophils from goats administered levamisole or selenium-tocopherol mixture. 3. Random migration, production of superoxide and hydrogen peroxide and S aureus phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages of goats administered 300ml of levamisole-thioglycollatc medium mixture $(2.5{\mu}g/ml)$ into peritoneal cavity increased significantly (p<0.01 or p<0.05) when compared with those of goats administered thioglycollate medium alone.

A 17-year-old girl presented with complaints of headache and decreasing vision of one month's duration, without any history of fever, weight loss, or any evidence of an immuno-compromised state. Her neurological examination was normal, except for papilledema. Laboratory investigations were within normal limits, except for a slightly increased Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR). Non-contrast computerized tomography of her head revealed complex mass in left frontal lobe with a concentric, slightly hyperdense, thickened wall, and moderate perilesional edema with mass effect. Differential diagnoses considered in this case were pilocytic astrocytoma, metastasis and abscess. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) obtained in 3.0 Tesla (3.0T) scanner revealed a lobulated outline cystic mass in the left frontal lobe with two concentric layers of T2 hypointense wall, with T2 hyperintensity between the concentric ring. Moderate perilesional edema and mass effect were seen. Post gadolinium study showed a markedly enhancing irregular wall with some enhancing nodular solid component. No restricted diffusion was seen in this mass in diffusion weighted imaging (DWI). Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) showed increased lactate and lipid peaks in the central part of this mass, although some areas at the wall and perilesional T2 hyperintensity showed an increased choline peak without significant decrease in N-acetylaspartate (NAA) level. Arterial spin labelling (ASL) and dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) enhanced perfusion study showed decrease in relative cerebral blood volume at this region. These features in MRI were suggestive of brain abscess. The patient underwent craniotomy with excision of a grayish nodular lesion. Abundant acid fast bacilli (AFB) in acid fast staining, and epithelioid cell granulomas, caseation necrosis and Langhans giant cells in histopathology, were conclusive of tubercular abscess. Tubercular brain abscess is a rare manifestation that simulates malignancy and cause diagnostic dilemma. MRI along with MRS and magnetic resonance perfusion studies, are powerful tools to differentiate lesions in such equivocal cases.

The fragile X syndrome, which is considered to be synonymous with the Martin-Bell syndrome, is a relatively common form of X-linked mental retardation. The syndrome seems to occure in many different ethnic groups and its prevalence among mentally retarded males has been estimated to be in the order of 2 to 6%. The karyotypic hallmark of the syndrome is made up with a pronounced constriction near each tip of the long arm of the X chromosome(fragile site), shown in vitro only under conditions in which thymidylate production is blocked(lowered folate levels). Special culture media are needed to demonstrate this constriction site. Major clinical features associated with the syndrome include macroorchidism, large or prominent ears, significant emotional and behavioral dysfunctions such as hyperactivity, self-injury, lack of eye contact and social interaction, schizophrenia, autism, etc., and speech and language dysfunctions ranging from nonverbal to verbal speech with moderate to severe expressive language delays. Some have minor clinical features in common such as an increase in birth weight high forehead, prognathism, increased head circumference in infancy and childhood which did not persist into adult life. The recent research findings have shown that the fragile X syndrome is associated with infantile autism. Many patients with the fragile X syndrome fulfill the diagnostic criteria for infantile autism. Therefore it is recommendable that any patient with developmental delays and autism or autistic manifestations should have a chromosomal analysis, including fragile X examination. In the present review, historical aspects, incidence, and clinical features are presented. Recent anecdotal reports of the association with autism and the clinical improvement following high dose folic acid treatment will be discussed.
This study was conducted to determine the effect of rice bran on rice yield, grain quality and weeds control depending on applying times. The redox potential was severely reduced $4{\sim}7$ days after rice bran application but that of conventional practice was reduced 17 days after transplanting. During the decomposing of the rice bran in the water, the dissolved oxygen in the water was exhausted right away after rice bran application. The dry weight of weed increased as the rice bran application time was delayed that weed dry weights increased by 138% in applying before puddling (ABP), 219% in 5 DAT (days after transplanting), 300% in 7 DAT and 619% in 9 DAT compared to conventional practice. The rice yield reduced remarkably in rice bran treatments after transplanting compared to conventional practice and applying before puddling. In the rice quality, the head rice ratio in the rice bran treatment was higher than that in conventional practice, and its protein content decreased. The results confirm that the rice bran application make the rice palatability higher, but there was no difference in rice qualities depending on application times.
The study was initiated at three rice paddy fields of each large-scale area environment-friendly agricultural district, Suncheon and Jangheung in Jeollanam-do, and Okcheon in Chungcheongbuk-do in 2016 to observe growth and nutrients in soil and rice in a season. Jangheung farm had two observed plots; conventional plots and conventional plots additionally fertilizing of 20% T-N with oil-cake. Soil pH, EC, and K concentration on June in Jangheung farm were significantly higher than those values observed in Suncheon and Okcheon farms. Annual rice T-N contents in the Jangheung farm were more than 80 g but decreased in a season. T-N concentration in rice was high in Jangheung farm but the concentrations of P and K were not significantly different among the three farms at harvest. Plant height was as low as 101 cm in Sunchon farm but high in the dry weight (72 g). Leaf SPAD was higher in Jangheung farm than those of other farms. Okcheon farm, with early cultivar 'Milky queen', produced high head rice of 93%, and high unhulled rice and the brown rice per ha. Therefore, the annual production income was as high as 26.7 million won per ha. However, nutrient (T-N + P + K) balance in Okcheon farm with high amount of fertilizer application were as high as 900 kg per ha. On the other hand, nutrient balance in Jangheung farm resulted in less than 300 kg.
To analyze the possibility for the genetic improvement at the early period at 60 days of age in tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus. Genetic parameters on eight traits, total length (TL), standrad length (SL), head length (HL), body depth (BD), body height at the origin of dorsal fin (BH1), length from the origin of dorsal fin to the origin of dorsal fin (BH2), snout length (SNL), and body weight (BW), were estimated by sib analysis. Heritabilities estimated from sire, dam and full-sib components were moderately high in all metric traits, ranged 0.08$\~$0.70, 0.22$\~$0.41 and 0.18$\~$0.55, respectively. Those of SL from sire, dam, and full-sib component were estimated as 0.13, 0.22, and 0.18, respectively, Besides BH1, BH2 also showed high heritabilities, $h^2_s$ (0.08), $h^2_d$ (0.38) and $h^2_{s+d}$ (0.23), indicating that it would be a new production-related metric trait for selection. Among the metric traits, phenotypic and genetic correlation coefficients were ranged from 0,86 to 0.97 and from 0.90 to 0.99, respectively. Thus, genetic improvement would be possible at the early growth rate by the individual selection in tilapia.
