아연도금공정의 안전성평가 (A Study on the Safety Assessment of Zinc Plating Process)

  • There are now the plating process that have many hazardous factor cause of the using numerous noxious chemical and bad working environments. The purpose of the study is to make a selection of suitable safety evaluation method that can analyze and righteously find with numerous hazardous factor of the plating process. And another purpose is to systematically adjust the risk of plating process by comprehension of the role of process, equipment, and source material. Therefore, these studies are carried out in the following three investigations of this report. The first research understands the injurious human health and environment by analyzing hazardous material based on the MSDS. To evaluate the safety of process and compartment, the second research is proposed the security secure counterproposal by using the FMEA and the HAZOP. The final research is devoted to systematically analyze the hazard by applying for reasonable guide word and doing the HAZOP for hazardous factor in specific process.

  • In process for production of Rubber Scheme Product that have the most inferior Working Environment is Medicine mixture and Scheme processing. Applying automation and Environment Treatment technology to the hazardous chemical and mixture processing, Through developed 'Mixture Automatic Machine for hazardous chemical Interruption type that is occurred at mixing rubber medicines', we try to decline worker's intensity of labour, Also overcomes solution of work evasion phenomenon and manpower supply and demand's difficulty by forming agreeable working environment and through the automatic scheme and mixture processing by preventing that hazardous chemical had known as disease causes of various importance disease is exposed to worker during the work. and we plan to do so that production of high added value product may be available.

RO/NF막 공정을 이용한 BTEX 물질의 제어 특성 평가 (Removal Mechanisms of BTEX Compounds by RO/NF Membrane Processes)

  • A series of bench-scale membrane filtration experiments were performed to systematically investigate the removal mechanisms of reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membranes for BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylene, xylene), trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE). The molecular weight of these organic compounds ranged from 78 to 166 dalton. The rejection of organic compounds by RO/NF membranes varied significantly from 59.6 to 99.2% depending on solute and membrane types. Specifically, experimental results demonstrated that the removal efficiency of RO/NF membranes increased as solute molecular characteristics such as W/L (molecular width/length) ${\times}$ $M_W$ (molecular weight) and octanol-water partition coefficient increased. This observation suggested that the rejection of small organic compounds by RO/NF membranes was determined by the combined effect of physical (molecular size and shape) and chemical (hydrophobicity) properties.

타투화장품 및 문신용 염료의 유해금속 함량 연구 (Hazardous Metal Content in Tattoo Cosmetics and Tattoo Inks)

  • Background: Along with the increase in consumer interest in and consumption of tattoo products, the controversy over harmful heavy metals associated with the use of tattoo cosmetics is also increasing. Therefore, investigation of hazardous metals in these tattoo products is needed. Objectives: This study was performed to provide useful data for establishing reasonable standards to securely manage tattoo cosmetics, tattoo stickers, and tattoo inks distributed in the market. Methods: Thirteen kinds of hazardous metal contents (Pb, As, Cd, Sb, Ni, Co, Cu, Cr, Se, Ba, Zn, Sn, and Hg) were analyzed for 23 tattoo cosmetics, ten tattoo stickers, and 16 tattoo inks. Hg was measured through the combustion-gold amalgamation method, and other hazardous metals were measured by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) after acidic decomposition using a microwave apparatus. Results: The detected ranges of Pb, As, Cd, Sb, Ni, and Hg in tattoo cosmetics were 0.07~1.18, 0.06~0.41, ND~0.07, 0.01~3.44, 0.12~2.75, and ND~0.01 ㎍/g, respectively. All of the hazardous metals detected were below the recommended maximum standards of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The mean amount of Pb detected in tattoo stickers for children was 0.24 ㎍/kg and Cd was not detected, meaning both metals met the recommended criteria. There was no statistically significant difference in all measured metals between children's tattoo stickers and adults' tattoo stickers. In the results of the study on the hazardous metal content of tattoo inks, four products (25%) for Pb, one product (6%) for As, 13 products (81%) for Ni, four products (25%) for Cu, and five products (31%) for Zn exceeded the recommended standards approved by the government. The highest predicted exposure amount for hazardous metals exceeding the recommended level of tattoo inks in a single tattooing was 5.69 ㎍/kg for Ni, 8.51 ㎍/kg for Zn, 0.44 ㎍/kg for Pb, 8.07 ㎍/kg for Cu, 0.44 ㎍/kg for As, and 71.36 ㎍/kg for Ba. Conclusions: It is necessary to prepare criteria for content limitation for the management of Co, Cr, Ba and Se tattoo cosmetics, and tattoo inks require thorough quality control.

산업안전보건법에 의한 관리대상 유해물질 선정의 타당성 연구 (Study on the Validity of Selection of Hazardous Substances Requiring Management on Industrial Safety and Health Act)

  • According to the third study on the distribution of chemical substances carried out by the Department of Environment in 2006, there were a total of 900 chemical substances whose respective annual usage amount exceeded 1,000 tons and, among them, 90 substances belonged to the 168 hazardous substances requiring management(53.6%). The work-related illnesses caused by hazardous substances requiring management in Korea between $1992{\sim}2005$ can be classified into four groups depending on the type of the chemical substances. These four groups are 23 organic substances including benzene, 12 metals including lead, 3 acids and bases including hydrogen chloride, and 6 gaseous substances including carbon monoxide. These hazardous substances requiring management were again classified depending on the threshold limit values. The chemicals whose TLV was lower than or equal to 0.005 ppm included 4 organic substances including methylene bisphenyl isocyanate and toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI). The chemicals whose TLV was larger than 51 ppm included 22 organic substances including diethyl ether and 1,2-dichloroethylene. When we classified these hazardous substances requiring management according to the categories of GHS health hazards, we found that isobutyl acetate and magnesium oxide didn't belong to the 13 health hazard categories. Among the substances whose TLV is set and whose annual usage amount is more than 0.1 million ton, we recommended 12 chemical species including 4,4'-Methylenedianiline as new hazardous substances requiring management. All the recommended substances were found to be hazardous when we classified their health hazards.

GIS를 이용한 지하저장탱크의 위해성 예비평가체계 개발 (Development of Preliminary Hazard Ranking System for Underground Storage Tanks Using Geographic Information System (GIS))

  • 지하저장탱크에서 누출된 유기화합물은 인근의 토양과 지하수를 오염시키고 있다. 지하저장탱크를 관리하기 위해서는 탱크로 인한 환경 위해가능성을 파악할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지하저장탱크의 상대적 위해성을 추정할 수 있는 예비평가체계를 구축하였다. 지하저장탱크에 대한 위해성 예비평가체계를 평가인자의 선정, 평가인자의 계층구조화, 평가인자별 가중치 설정, 위해가능성 총점수 산정, 위해성평가 등 다섯 단계로 구성하였다. 구축된 예비평가체계를 서울시 관악구 소재 주유소에 적용하였고, 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 평가한 결과, 사례지역의 주유소는 위해가능성에 따라 세가지로 분류되는데 상대적으로 위해성이 높은 7개소의 주유소가 파악되었다. 또한 민감도 분석을 통하여 가중치 변화에 영향을 받지 않고 위해성이 높게 나타나는 4개소의 주유소를 파악하였다. 본 평가체계는 계층구조와 쌍대비교에 의한 가중치설정기법을 도입하였으므로 사용자가 자신의 전문적인 경험에 따라 본 평가체계를 유연하게 적용할 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 앞으로 현장조사결과와 비교하여 평가체계를 검증하고 갱신하는 작업이 수행되어야 할 것이다.

일부 제조업 사업장의 작업환경 및 보건관리 실태 (A study on the status of working environment control and health management of workers in a manufacturing industries)

  • To obtain the useful information for the status of working environment and health management of workers in manufacturing industries, comparision of results on the status of working environmental and health management of workers for 32 manufacturing industries in Chunan area from 1988 to 1989 was carried out. The results were as follows : 1. The rate of over-PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) to for hazardous factors decreased significantly 23.5% in 1988, 18.3% in 1989 (p<0.05) and, the highest rate of over-PEL was the stone and sand handling industry, the highest rate of over-PEL was the dusty workplace as 38.5% in 1988, 35.2% in 1989. 2. The rate of workers exposed to hazardous factors in 1988 and in 1989 was 22.4% respectively, the rate of workers checked up special health examination was 40.1% in 1988, 75.3% in 1989. In stone and sand handling and medicochemical industries, none of workers exposed to hazardous factors was subjected to special health examination in 1988, but 75% of workers exposed to hazardous factors had checked up in 1989. 3. The 6 industries appointed as part-time factory physician among 17 industries which were supposed to have factory physician according to the Safety and Healthy Act of Korea, 6 out of 24 industries only appointed industrial hygienist, furthermore 4 out of 6 hygienists had another duty in addition to occupational hygiene itself.

해양산업시설의 위험유해물질 해양배출 규제체계 개선의 필요성과 규제방향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Necessity and Direction of Regulations on the Emission of Hazardous and Noxious Substances from Marine Industrial Facilities)

  • 본 논문에서는 해양산업시설 현황과 규제법규 체계, 그리고 이들 시설의 위험유해물질 배출실태 등을 분석하고, 이에 따른 규제체계의 개선방향을 제시하였다. 분석결과 2020년말 현재, 해양환경관리법의 적용을 받는 해양산업시설은 약 1천1백여개소에 이르는 것으로 파악되고 있다. 이들 해양산업시설로부터 배출되어 해양유입 가능성이 높은 위험유해물질은 190여종으로 추정되며, 이중 해양유입의 가능성이 가장 높은 물질은 수계로 배출되는 것으로 파악된 20여종으로 추정된다. 그러나 관련 법규정의 미비로 인하여, 배출되는 물질이 예외적 배출물질에 해당하는지 여부를 명확히 판단하기가 어려워, 현장에서의 효과적인 규제집행에 어려움을 겪고 있는 실정이다. 이에 해양환경관리법의 예외적 배출기준과 해당 물질의 종류에 대해 명확히 규정해야 하며, 예외적 배출물질을 무엇으로 할 것인지를 결정할 선정체계와 물질의 위해성 평가체계, 그리고 관련 위험유해물질의 배출정보수집 및 모니터링체계를 명확히 해야 한다.

6가크롬 오염토양 정화기술 현장적용성 연구 (Field Applications Study on the Validation of Remediation Technology for Chromium(VI) Contaminated Soil)

  • Currently, the pursuit of industrialization for rapid economic growth has led to serious environmental damage and related problems because of comtamination with chemicals. Over time, this contaminaion is getting worse and worse. Most developing countries have tried to pursue their economic development and growth, however without preparation for the control and disposal of hazardous wastes. Permitting hazardous waste to be abandoned and disposed in appropriately causes soil pollution, groundwater contamination, and surface water contamination, which are all extremely serious. In particular, when hazardous wastes which include toxic chemicals are distributed around the living environment even in small amounts, concentration can occur in the food chain through ecological systems, which can therefore affect human. Chromium(VI) has contaminated soil in China. We experimented to test the immobilization, chemical reduction, and soil washing methods in order to make our experiment efficient in the purification of soil contaminated with Chromium(VI), and to prove the theoretical models by experiments testing the field applications. The field experiment showed that result of experiment satisfied with the standards of China. The result of multi-stage continuous remediation reduce the Chromium(VI) concentration to 11.95 mg/kg and 14.83 mg/kg that were equivalent to 98% and 97% removal rates. This result implied we could apply multi-stage process of Chromium(VI) contaminated soil to meet the regulatory limit of Chromium(VI).

위험물 수송 탱크 차량의 국내외 안전기준 비교 연구-유류 차량 중심 (A Study for the Safety Regulation of Tank Car for the Hazardous Material - General Oil Tank Car)

  • 최근 들어 철도차량 안전과 관련하여 국내에서 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 연구는 여객을 수송하는 일반 객차, 전동차, 고속열차 등을 중심으로 행해지고 있으며, 화물 특히 위험물 수송 화물차량에 대한 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 위험물질을 수송하는 탱크차의 안전기준을 개발하기 위하여 유류를 중심으로 국내외 관련된 안전기준을 비교 분석하여 국내 위험물 수송 탱크차 안전기준 개발의 기초를 마련하고자 한다.
