가압열처리한 도계부산물 및 부화부산물 사료 급여가 산란능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding Autoclaved Poultry By-product and Hatchery By-product Meals on Laying Hen Performances)

  • 본 시험에서는 도계장에서 생산되는 비율대로 혼합하고 가압열처리한 P1 (머리+다리+내장), P2 (P1+혈액) 및 P3 (P2+우모) 등 3가지 도계부산물 사료와, H1(난용계 수평아리 ), H2(난용계 및 육용계 사롱란) 및 H3(H1+H2, 2:1) 등 3가지 부화부산물 사료 및 (C)어분을 각각 산란계 사료에 5%씩 배합하고 산란능력과 난질을 비교하였다. 산란율과 난중, 사료섭취량 및 사료요구율 등 모든 산란계 능력에서 모든 부산물 사료구들은 대조구와 유의적인 차이가 없었으며, 난각질에서도 처리간에 유의적인 차이가 없었으나, 난황색은 부화부산물구가 대조구보다 유의적으로 향상되었다 (P<0.05). 결론적으로 도계부산물 사료와 부화부산물 사료들은 산란능력과 난질에 나쁜 영향 없이 산란계사료에서 어분을 대치하여 5%정도 사용될 수 있었다.

  • Physiological responses and tolerance limit of hybrid striped bass $(Morone\;Chrysops\;male{\times}\;M.\;saxatilis\;female),$ were investigated on salinity changes from 33 psu to 0 psu and from 0 to psu 33 psu in two separate trials, respectively. In the acute salinity decrease from sea water (33 psu) to fresh water (0 psu), plasma level of cortisol, glucose, total protein, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were not affected, however, $Na^+,\;Cl^-$ and osmolality significantly decreased. In the acute salinity increase from fresh water to sea water (33 psu), plasma cortisol level did not change. Glucose and total protein concentrations in plasma and hematocrit (Hct) decreased, whereas AST, ALT, $Na^+,\;Cl^-$ and osmolality increased. The hybrid striped bass can overcome the acute changes of salinity, from 0 psu to 33 psu or from 33 psu to 0 psu, But salinity decrease stressed the fish much more than salinity increase.

Preparation and Nutritional Evaluation of Hatchery Waste Meal for Broilers

  • Hatchery waste including infertile eggs, dead embryos in shell, dead or low grade chicks was cooked at $100^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes and then oven dried and ground. Hatchery waste meal (HWM) thus prepared contained 44.25% protein, 4,573 kcal/kg gross energy, 3,600 kcal/kg metabolizable energy, 30% ether extract, 1.9% fibre, 14% ash, 9.8% nitrogen free extract, 7.26% Ca, 0.84%P, 1.86% lysine and 0.66% methionine with no Salmonella and E. coli. In biological evaluation trial, significantly higher weight gain was observed in ration containing 12% HWM compared with that containing similar amount of fish meal. Protein efficiency ratio on the two rations was 3.96 vs 2.85; protein digestibility, 86.02 vs 71.9; net protein utilization, 64.9 vs 42.37 and biological value, 75.37 vs 58.84, respectively, indicating better balance of amino acids in HWM compared with fish meal. Growth performance trial on broiler chicks also revealed better weight gain and feed efficiency on ration containing 12% HWM than that containing similar level of fish meal.

New polymorphic microsatellite markers in the Korean mi-iuy croaker, $Miichthys$ $miiuy$, and their application to the genetic characterization of wild and farmed populations

  • Eighteen new polymorphic microsatellite markers were developed for the Korean mi-iuy croaker ($Miichthys$ $miiuy$, Perciformes, Sciaenidae), and allelic variability was compared between a wild population in Mokpo, Korea, and a hatchery population in Tongyeong, Korea. All loci were amplified readily and demonstrated allelic variability, with the number of alleles ranging from 5 to 37 in the wild population, and from 4 to 12 in the farmed population. The average observed and expected heterozygosities were estimated, respectively, to be 0.74 and 0.78 in the hatchery population samples, and 0.79 and 0.86 in the wild samples. These results indicate lower genetic variability in the hatchery population compared with the wild population, and significant genetic differentiation between the wild population and the hatchery samples ($F_{ST}$=0.058, P<0.001). These microsatellite loci may be valuable for future population genetic studies, monitoring changes in the genetic variation within stocks in a commercial breeding program, conservation genetics, and molecular assisted selective breeding of the mi-iuy croaker in the future.

  • The hatchery sanitation has a significant impact on chick quality. This study was carried out to investigate the bacterial contamination in the broiler hatchery. The aerosol bacterial contamination was low except for the operating hatcher that the bacterial counts were measured almost over 300 counts/64cm$^{2}$. The bacterial contamination of the facilities and equipments had a similar tendency as compared with the aerosol bacterial contamination. More than six groups of the Salmonella species were isolated almost from the hatcher and the related facilities and equipments. Also, in this study, we compared the effects of four methods of 37% formalin adminstration in hatcher. At hatch, the aerosol bacterial counts in hatcher receiving 37% formalin as constant rate infusion method during hatching were significantly lower than in each hatcher receiving 37% formalin once at transfer and not receiving 37% formalin, respectively(p<0.05).
