We researched nitrogen and green manure yield of crotalaria by seeding rate; 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 kg $ha^{-1}$ in upland soil to find out crotalaria's optimal seeding rate. Crotalaria's plant height and number of leaves increased when the harvest time was later regardless of its seeding rate. Its nitrogen content of above-ground part was 19.8 g $ha^{-1}$, and C/N ratio was 22.5. The highest nitrogen content (50.3 g $ha^{-1}$) was found in flowers part, followed by its leaves, roots and stems. The green manure yields of crotalaria increased when the harvest time was later. The green manure yield of crotalaria was biggest in 50kg $ha^{-1}$ which was low in seeding rate. It tended to decrease when the seeding rate was higher, and the nitrogen yield had the same tendency. Therefore, the appropriate seeding rate was 50kg $ha^{-1}$ and the time for application to soil was considered to be the flowering stage.

This study was conducted to determine the number of days required to break a plant's dormancy and promote subsequent crop growth in new varieties of Gomchwi through the 4℃ treatment. Three new varieties of Gomchwi namely, 'Sammany', 'Gommany', and 'Damogy' were observed in this study. The rate of leaf emergence of 'Sammany' after 15-day of 4℃ treatment was 100%, while 'Gommany', and 'Damogy' took 20-days and 10-days, respectively to reach to 97.9% rate of leaf emergence. After 10-days of 4℃ treatment, 'Damogy' grew faster than the other varieties. and Harvest time for 'Damogy' was on January 18th, after 5-days of 4℃ treatment and yield was observed to be the highest at 15-days of 4℃ treatment. 'Sammany' was next with a minimum of 10-days of 4℃ treatment, although 15-days is more preferred for better harvest. 'Gommany' on the other hand, did not grow enough for harvest by January 18th, and its harvest time was delayed to January 31st. It needed a minimum of 15-days and preferentially 20-days of 4℃ treatment to grow normally and be ready for harvest. The plant height, leaf length and leaf petiole length appeared to grow better by extending duration of the 4℃ treatment. The number of leaves of 'Sammany' and 'Gommany' varieties was three leaves for the 5-days treatment which may be due to the incomplete breaking of dormancy. Regarding the yield per plant, 'Sammany' yielded 112.3 grams (g) in 15-days treatment, and 'Gommany' yielded 106.5 g in 25-days treatment. In the case of 'Damogy', it yielded 123.5 g and 183 g in the 10-days and 25-days treatment respectively. It is concluded that 'Damogy', 'Sammany' and 'Gommany requires 10, 15, and 20 days of 4℃ treatment to break the plant's dormancy and promote better plant growth.
This study was conducted to compare development of browning in minimally processed mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus Sing.) by picking season and postharvest holding time of the raw material. 'White' type of the mushrooms were harvested and minimally processed immediately after harvest or holding at 2$^{\circ}C$ for 7 days after picking in 4 seasons. The processed mushrooms were kept at 5$^{\circ}C$, and changes in surface color and content of total phenolic compounds of the mushrooms were measured. Respiration rate of the whole mushrooms was ranged from 9.55 to 17.93 mL C0$_{2}$/kg$\cdot$ hr, and the rate was low in mushrooms harvested in summer and autumn compared with those picked in spring and winter. Hunter L value of the mushrooms decreased rapidly just after slicing, especially in summer-harvest mushrooms. The mushrooms processed with the raw materials stored at 2$^{\circ}C$ for 7 days after harvest showed the lowest 'L' value among the sliced mushrooms prepared at different holding time. Consequently, summer-harvest mushrooms and the mushrooms kept at 2$^{\circ}C$ for more than 7 days after harvest would be unsuitable for minimally processing due to rapid browning.
Pre-Harvest Residue Limit (PHRL) of bifenthrin during cultivation of grape was established by utilizing the dissipation curve and biological half-life of bifenthrin calculated from the analysis of 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 days after treatment of bifenthrin. Grape sample was extracted and partitioned with acetonitrile and dichloromethane, respectively, and bifenthrin was determined with GC/ECD. Limit of quantitation (LOQ) of bifenthrin was 0.01 ng. Recoveries at two fortification levels of 0.1 and $0.5\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ were $104.08\;{\pm}\;1.24$ and $92.25\;{\pm}\;3.13%$, respectively. The biological half-lives of bifenthrin were about 21 days at standard application rate, while, 23 days at double application rate. Dissipation of bifenthrin on grape was not influenced by growth dilution effect. The PHRLs of bifenthrin were recommended as 0.60 and $0.55\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ for 10 and 5 days before harvest, respectively.

The present study aimed to understand the variation in seed germination according to the storage period after harvest in the accessions of cultivated and weedy types of Perilla species in Korea. In this milieu, we investigated the germination rate and germination energy of 59 Perilla accessions (15 cultivated var. frutescens type I, 4 cultivated var. frutescens type II, 20 weedy var. frutescens, and 20 weedy var. crispa), which were harvested in autumn 2016. The accessions of cultivated var. frutescens (type I) showed an average germination rate of 80.8% 6 months after harvest; however, the accessions of weedy var. frutescens and var. crispa showed an average germination rate of 0.9% and 8.7%, respectively. Furthermore, the accessions of cultivated var. frutescens (type II) showed an average germination rate of 18.2%. The accessions of cultivated var. frutescens (type I) showed an average germination energy of 75.8%, while the accessions of weedy var. frutescens and var. crispa showed an average germination energy of 0.6% and 6.9%, respectively. In addition, the accessions of cultivated var. frutescens (type II) showed an average germination energy of 14.3%. The germination rate and germination energy for the accessions of cultivated and weedy types of Perilla species increased marginally at 2 months from the first month after harvest. However, it did not significantly increase until six months after that. According to our results, there are two types of cultivated var. frutescens, namely, type I, which showed high germination rate and germination energy, and type II, which showed low germination rate and germination energy. The results of this study will provide basic information to understand variations in the germination of seeds during 6 months of storage period after harvest in the accessions of cultivated and weedy types of Perilla species in Korea.
The paper is to serve as a guide for deciding on a desirable direction for the vessel buyback program, reviewing their performance and economic effects from fish harvest reduction due to not reaching MSY. Compared with maximum willingness to pay for vessel buyback programs designed to avoid economic losses occurring as a result of overfishing, the portions of investment costs for buyback program are so small comparatively to the range of 0.32% to 12.19% at the annual base. The economic loss effects occurred in terms of the reduction of fishing harvest are comprehensively estimated at the present value of 30,877 billion won since 1971, and exceeded the revenues for fish harvests from 1999. In order to resole fish stocks through a vessel buyback program, this paper recommends that the yield should be reduced to less than the intrinsic growth rate. Otherwise, the buyback program policy eventually fails regardless of the temporal effect of benefits. This paper further argues that technical policy tools such as fishing grounds, fishing seasons, size of fish and minimum size of meshes should be effectively utilized.
Experiments were conducted to investigate the optimum season for mulberry graftages harvesting before the period of natural leaf fall in autumn. Harvesting season was examined at 10 days intervals from September 30 to November 20, 1985 and 1986, at nine sites in eight provinces. The results were : 1. Diameter of graftages increased until October 30. 2. Early harvest of graftages decreased survived rate, number of shoots, and total shoot length the next spring. The October 30 harvest yielded the best growth the following spring. 3. Harvests after October 20 allowed for good survial of mulberry shoots and sprouting the following spring. 4. Total N and P in plants increased with late harvests, K decreased, and Ca content was not affected by harvest date. 5. Total N, P, and Ca were higher in stem cortex than root bark, while K appeared to be equally distributed between root and shoot bark.
Recent advances in energy harvesting (EH) technology have motivated the adoption of rechargeable mobile devices for communications. In this paper, we consider a point-to-point (P2P) wireless communication system in which an EH transmitter with a non-ideal rechargeable battery is required to send a given fixed number of bits to the receiver before they expire according to a preset delay constraint. Due to the possible energy loss in the storage process, the harvest-use-and-store (HUS) architecture is adopted. We characterize the properties of the optimal solutions, for additive white Gaussian channels (AWGNs) and then block-fading channels, that maximize the energy efficiency (i.e., battery residual) subject to a given rate requirement. Interestingly, it is shown that the optimal solution has a water-filling interpretation with double thresholds and that both thresholds are monotonic. Based on this, we investigate the optimal double-threshold based allocation policy and devise an algorithm to achieve the solution. Numerical results are provided to validate the theoretical analysis and to compare the optimal solutions with existing schemes.
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) ratooning is the production of a second rice crop from the stubble left behind after the main crop harvest. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of main-crop stubble height, irrigation and fertilization on ratoon grain yield. Main crop 'Jinbuol' rice cultivar was harvested to leave with 10, 20, 30, or 40 cm stubble height. When the main crop stubble was harvested with 10 cm height, ratoon rice grain yield was increased by 2,810 kg/ha. Irrigation on stubbles after main crop harvest did not affect the ratoon crop yield and rice quality. The results showed a large variation in the ratoon performance by fertilizer application methods. Top-dressed nitrogen fertilizer on the stubble after harvest caused increase in panicle production and higher maturity rate. However, there was no significant difference in protein content, amylose content of milled rice and cooked rice characters between plots managed with and without nitrogen fertilizer.

Recently, mobile manipulators have been utilized in agriculture industry for weed removal and harvest automation. This paper proposes a domain adaptive fruit detection method for harvest automation, by utilizing OWL-ViT model which is an open-vocabulary object detection model. The vision-language model can detect objects based on text prompt, and therefore, it can be extended to detect objects of undefined categories. In the development of deep learning models for real-world problems, constructing a large-scale labeled dataset is a time-consuming task and heavily relies on human effort. To reduce the labor-intensive workload, we utilized a large-scale public dataset as a source domain data and employed a domain adaptation method. Adversarial learning was conducted between a domain discriminator and feature extractor to reduce the gap between the distribution of feature vectors from the source domain and our target domain data. We collected a target domain dataset in a real-like environment and conducted experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. In experiments, the domain adaptation method improved the AP50 metric from 38.88% to 78.59% for detecting objects within the range of 2m, and we achieved 81.7% of manipulation success rate.
