  • The purpose of this study was evaluate a isometric shoulder mused strength of normal college student in two groups. 40 college student between the age of $20,47\pm1.96$, weight of $58,50\pm6.78Kg,\;height\;of\;161.87\pm4.91Cm$ were studied. Isometric shoulder strenght was measured by Nicholas hand-held dynamometer far Boxers, extensors, abductors, adductors, external rotators. and internal rotators of shoulders. Testing was Performed with the subject supine according to the modified Bohannon's method and Jae-Wok Kim's method.

Comparison of light transmittance in different thicknesses of zirconia under various light curing units

  • PURPOSE. The objective of this study was to compare the light transmittance of zirconia in different thicknesses using various light curing units. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 21 disc-shaped zirconia specimens (5 mm in diameter) in different thicknesses (0.3, 0.5 and 0.8 mm) were prepared. The light transmittance of the specimens under three different light-curing units (quartz tungsten halogen, light-emitting diodes and plasma arc) was compared by using a hand-held radiometer. Statistical significance was determined using two-way ANOVA (${\alpha}$=.05). RESULTS. ANOVA revealed that thickness of zirconia and light curing unit had significant effects on light transmittance ($P$ <.001). CONCLUSION. Greater thickness of zirconia results in lower light transmittance. Light-emitting diodes light-curing units might be considered as effective as Plasma arc light-curing units or more effective than Quartz-tungsten-halogen light-curing units for polymerization of the resin-based materials.

  • SAR 추정시스템에 사용되는 phantom의 FDTD 모델에 휴대폰을 병합시켜 측정시켜 추정시스템과 동일한 상황으로 구현하영 계산한 결과, 측정값과 오차 범위 ±10%내로 확인하였으며 또한, Om P. Gandhi의 결과 오차±20%를 개선하였다. 이로써 단지 경험에 의존하거나, 제품의 완성된계에서의 별개의 작업으로 SAR을 고려하는 것이 아니라, 설계 단계에서 정량적으로 SAR이 고려된 휴대폰을 개발할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 즉, 제안된 방법을 이용하여 휴대폰의 통화품질 개선과 SAR 저감을 동시에 만족시키는 양질의 휴대폰 개발이 가능할 석으로 개대한다. 특히, 이방법은 새로운 휴대폰 개발에 소용되는 비용과 시간을 대폭 줄일 수 있는 장점이 있다.

ALIS : GPR System for Humanitarian Demining and Its Deployment in Cambodia

  • Humanitarian demining is very important issue not only in mine affected courtiers but also for the courtiers which are technically, politically and financially supporting the mine affected courtiers. In order to achieve higher efficiency of the mine clearance operation, new technologies can significantly contribute to the societies. Since 2002, Tohoku University, Japan has developed a sensor system "ALIS" for humanitarian demining. ALIS is a hand-held dual sensor, which combines an electromagnetic induction sensor (EMI) and a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). ALIS has a real-time sensor tracking system based on a CCD camera and which enables the image reconstruction. We have tested ALIS in Cambodia and found that it can eliminate more than 70 % metal fragments. Since 2009, 2 sets of ALIS have detected more than 80 anti-personnel mines, and cleared more than 137,000 $m^2$ in Cambodia.

  • In this study, simplified methods on measurement and evaluation of heavy-wight impact sound was proposed due to provide easy quality control method to construction engineers. The simplified methods include using of rubber impact ball instead of bang machine, reduced number of measuring and impact positions which is prescribed as over 4 points, using of hand-held sound level meter as a frequency analyser and prediction equation for $L_{i.Fmax.AW}$, single number rating, using $L_{Amax}$, and $L_{Lmax}$ at each frequency band. The results showed that a method of boundary driving and boundary measuring is the most similar to the current rating method.

  • 유무선 인터넷의 발달로, PDA, 홈패드, Hand-held PC 등 low-end로부터 high-end까지의 다양한 규모의 하드웨어 자원을 가지는 유무선 단말들이 속속 등장하고 있다. 그리하여, 이들로 임베딩되는 소프트웨어들도 과거 그들이 지녔던 경직성(fixedness)에서 탈피하여, 다양한 장치들을 수용할 수 있도록 구성적 특성을 요구 받고 있다. 웹 상의 정보 표현을 위한 표준으로 자리잡은 확장성 표기 언어인 XML을 위만 처리기는 그러한 단말에서의 자료 브라우징을 위해 필수적으로 임베딩 되어야할 소프트웨어 중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 규모의 단말들에 구성적 임베딩이 가능한 모듈 기반의 XML 처리기가 설계, 구현된다.

Rapid Heating of Ultrafine $Si_3N_4$ Powder Compacts under the Controlled Thermograms (가열이력 제어에 의한 $Si_3N_4$ 미분말 시편의 급속가열)

  • The sintering and renitridation behaviors of ultrafine Si3N4 powder compacts, which were heavily oxidized and/or free-Si rich, were investigated with particular attentiion to microstructures. The specimens were heated without restoring to additives and pressure by controlling heating process attained a Xe image apparatus. The effect of particle size, free-Si contents, decomposition and renitridation, were investigated. When fired to 1$650^{\circ}C$ within 15 sec and then immediately held at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 10min N2 atmosphere, significant densification took place in the limited region, in addition to decreasing oxygen contents to less than 0.3wt%. On the other hand, specimens decomposed due to overheating at the initial stage were rapidly renitridated at the relatively lower temperature of the holding stage. And, then, the activation energy for the renitridation was calculated to be 49kcal/mole.

  • This paper presents an advanced RFID reader system implementing multi-protocols and multi-standards at 900MHz. In accordance with the strict regulations specified by ISO 18000-6 B-Type and EPC Global Gen 2, we have designed corresponding systemic factors which meet the domestic radio frequency utilizing bands of 910-914MHz. In addition, we develop numerous crucial factors of system compatibility options including SSB (Single-Side Band) and DSB (Double-Side Band) specifications, also OOK (On-Off Keying), ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) and PR-ASK (Phase Reversed-Amplitude Shift Keying) modulation formula. Remarkable technical features of system in this paper can be the direct conversion routines using I/Q Modulation/Demodulation respectively, and Full-Duplex formulation operating at identical frequency bands.

  • In this paper, we propose advanced screen detector as a tool for selecting the object for tracking and estimating its distance from a screen using fuzzy logic in vision based pointing device. Our system classifies the line component of the input image into horizontal and vertical lines and applies the fuzzy rule to obtain the best line pair which constitute peripheral framework of the screen. The proposed system improves the detection ratio for detecting the screen in relative to the detector used in the previous works for hand-held type vision based pointing device. Also it allows to detect the screen even though a small part of it may be hidden behind other object.

  • A prototype motorised hand-held mango harvester was designed and fabricated at the faculty of Engineering , University of Agriculture Malaysia. The harvester is aimed at reducing the harvesting operation time, improving the working comfort during the operation and increasing the harvesting capacity. The mango harvester consists of gripping and detaching devices, a power transmission shaft with a 12 V battery operated motor and an aluminium pole together with a collecting chute. Preliminary observation on the harvester's performance showed significant and satisfactory results. It was found out that the magno harvester was capable of harvesting on an average six seconds for each fruit detachment. Further study is being conducted to improve the efficiency and capacity of the mango harvester.
