This study presents characteristics of representative five hand dimensions including hand length, medius finger length, hand circumference, hand breadth and hand thickness, and hand scales by gender and age for Koreans. The study was based on data of hand dimensions published in 2008 by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. The hand dimensions of males were nearly the same as those of females until age of 12~13(10~11 in hand thickness), but the males' were larger than the females' from age group of 14~15 or 12~13. The growth of the hand dimensions was found until age of 12~13(14~15 in hand thickness) in females and 16~17 in males. After the age groups, the hand dimensions was almost the same irrespective of age groups. ANOVA was performed to investigate significant factors affecting hand dimensions. Representative five hand dimensions were significantly affected by gender and age, while they were not affected by occupation. Two hand scales were proposed depending upon gender, for easily using hand characteristics in design stage of hand relevant products. In addition, regression equations were provided for quantitatively predicting hand dimensions on the basis of representative five hand dimensions.
On the subjects of the female adults in their 20s who love to wear jeans, the wearing reality of basic jean pants and engineered jean pants was examined while pattern comparison and the evaluation of appearance and functions were made to reach the following conclusions: 1. Wearing reality of engineered jean pants Among the examined subjects, 74.8% were found out to favor engineered jean pants. Those who have engineered jean pants turned out to pursue well-known brands more than practicality. 2. Pattern comparison analysis of basic jean pants and engineered jean pants Though similar sizes existed in pants tips and belt width, engineered jean pants showed bigger values in waist circumference, crotch circumference, hip circumference, knee circumference, thigh circumference and so on. There were no big differences in the front part except for the items like crotch circumference and crotch length, but engineered jean pants had bigger sizes in the rear part. Engineered jeans in the rear contained the outward curved silhouette of the legs, curved tips, and a dart design instead of a back yoke. 3. Evaluation of appearance and functions In the scores of appearance, basic jean pants were higher at 3.65 in the order of front > side > back. On the contrary, engineered jean pants were excellent in the order of side > back > front. In the items of functions, engineered jean pants were higher at 4.23 in the order of hips > thighs> waist > abdomen > knee > crotch. On the other hand, basic jean pants showed the order of knee > crotch & thighs > abdomen > hips > waist. In every movement, engineered jean pants revealed higher functionality. In particular, the bigger physical movement led to the greater functional differences between the two kinds of jean pants.
The purpose of this study is to measure Korean, Chinese and Chosunjok college women's body part sizes, and then, classify their body shapes according to the drop value(hip circumference-chest circumference) as well as their statures, and thereupon, comparatively analyze the statistical distribution of their major body part measurements and thereby, provide for some basic data useful to the development of quality fitting apparels exportable to China. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; Most of Korean and Chinese college women were found to belong to the body type of "N" body shape, while many of Chosunjok college women belonged to "H" body shape body type characterized by normal stature but small difference between hip and chest circumferences. The most prevailing body type of Korean and Chinese college women next to "N" type(65%, 51%) was "H" (23%, 35%), followed by "A" type(12%, 14%), while that of Chosunjok college women was "H" type (54%), followed by "N" (40%) and "A" type (6%). On the other hand, in terms of distribution of major body part sizes, there was found a wide difference between Chinese and Korean college women. Chosunjok college women had similar body part sizes to Korean college women's in such measurements as waist back length, shoulder-to-shoulder length, front interscye length, back interscye length, under-chest circumference and weight, while having simliar body part sizes to Chinese college women's in such measures as stature, arm length, waist front length, waist side-hip line length, crotch length, head circumference, neck-root circumference and waist circumference.
Background & Methods: In order to study the effect of electro-lipolysis-acupuncture, 57 outpatients who have had herbal medication in Kirin Oriental Hospital were devided to two groups; acupuncture-treated group(46) vs non-acupuncture-treated group(11) Acupuncture-treated group was given electro-lipolysis-acupuncture at least two times a week and administered with herbal diet medication, whereas non-acupuncture-treated group was administered only with herbal diet medication. Results: Mean age, body weight and BMI of these two group at the start point of the treatment were $27.22({\pm}7.64)\;vs \;29.09({\pm}8.73),\;67.76({\pm}9.34)\;vs\;67.00({\pm}10.69),\;and\;26.20({\pm}3.02)\;vs\;26.14({\pm}4.10)$ in the order of acupuncture-treated and non-acupuncture groups. After one month of treatment, change rate of body weight, BMI, total fat, percentage of fat was significantly higher in acupuncture-treated group. Also the change rate of arm circumference, hip circumference and thigh circumference was significantly higher in acupuncture-treated group. The change rate of abdominal circumference and WHR of acupuncture-treated group was higher than that of non-acupuncture-treated group with no statistical significance. The circumference reduction rate according to herbal dieting program was higher in this order, abdomen, arms, chest, thighs and hips. On the other hand, chest circumference change rate over weight loss rate, which is the portion no acupuncture treatment was given to, and AMC change rate was higher in non-acupuncture-treated group. Conclusion: These results imply that herbal dieting program combined with electro-lipolysis-acupuncture is more effective on reducing body fat, size reduction of localized obesity and preservation of muscle than herbal prescription only dieting program.

The purposes of this are (1) to present representative five hand dimensions by measurement year, (2) to investigate hand characteristics based on relative ratios of varying hand dimensions and (3) to compare Korean hand dimensions to other countries' data. Comparing to those of 1979, statures of 2004 increased by 3.0~3.5%, while males' hand dimensions of hand length, medius finger length, hand circumference, hand breadth and hand thickness decreased by 2.0~5.0%. Ratios of hand dimensions to those of medius finger were not significantly different depending upon age group and gender, but were significantly different depending upon races of Korean and American. Hand lengths of Koreans were shorter by about 4.0% than those of Japanese irrespective of gender, while the other compared dimensions for Koreans were larger than those of Japanese. Hand dimensions used in this study of Koreans were generally smaller that those of Americans. It is recommended from this study that when designing hand relevant things including glove, computer keyboard, smart phone key pad, etc., the different hand characteristics found in this study be fully reflected to develop competitive products.
The purpose of this study was to determine the fundamental foot measurement data that is essential for a shoes size system of women in their 20~30s according to a survey of Korean hand-made shoes companies. This research on the current situation of shoes companies was done by interviewing and surveying employees of these companies. The subjects for this study were 407 women in their 20s~30s who lived in a metropolitan area, and who wanted to enhance their foot health and prevent injury with a proper shoes size system. They were measured with the 3D scan method in use of 6th Size Korea. The result of this study showed that there is considerable dissatisfaction related to women's shoes and the current foot size system using foot length. The Korean hand-made shoes companies assessed here did not use the KS system, but they recognized the necessity of measuring the foot width and circumference, understanding that doing so properly can decrease the return and repair rate. And current target age for shoes bye the hand-made shoes companies was reported to be approximately 5 years. There were significant results according to ANOVA, factor and cluster analyses according to the age range pertaining to the foot length, circumference and height. Each element was significantly correlated with user's satisfaction. There were 5 factors and 3 clusters represented, and foot circumstance and width were as important as foot length with a range of 5 years.
The objectives of this study were twofold; (1) to determine an optimal handle size of a signal billy, based on the subjective assessment of grip comfort and (2) to investigate the relationship between hand anthropometry and the optimal handle size. Thirty-seven university male students were asked to rate seven cylindrical handles of different diameters in barehanded and gloved conditions, respectively. Among these handles, 3.5cm diameter of the handle size was found to be the most comfortable, in both bardhanded and gloved conditionsl. However, no statistically significant reduction in grip comfort occurred within handle diameter ranging from 2.5cm to 4.0cm. As the handle diameter was deivated from the range, grip discomfort in creased significantly. A Spearman rank correlation coefficient test revealed that hand anthropometries such as finger lengths, hand circumference, and hand thickness were statistically significant factors on the determination of the optimal handle size. The implications of these findings were discussed. The results of this study can be used as guidelines in designing the hand tools for power grip.

Most apparel products have national standards for sizing; however, for gloves, national sizing standards have not yet been established. This study aims to analyze children's hand dimensions and propose a size specification for children's gloves that shows children's hand-related size information. Among the 3D measurements of sixth Size Korea Project, the measurement data of 19 dimensions related to the hands of 1,057 boys and girls aged 7-13 years old were analyzed. The distribution and growth trend of hand measurements for boys and girls demonstrated considerable mean differences and distribution trends by gender and age as per hand dimensions, which leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to show these results in the children's glove design. Based on these results, the cross-distribution maps of children's hand length and hand circumference were drafted; furthermore, the distribution relationship with an adult hand size was identified. Based on the distribution of hand sizes, the distribution of adult hand sizes overlapped with children's hand sizes was verified, and children's glove size specifications were presented. The results can be used as useful data such as measures for setting the size range and sizing system for children's gloves.
The aim of this study is to understand problems with both fit and sizing system of gloves by analyzing the glove production industries with an emphasis on the sizing system, production measurement system, and general marking situation. Also, to suggest the basic raw materials for improving sizing system for gloves, actual glove control sizes were compared to the anthropometric data of the previous study Fifteen domestic production companies were participated in this study-Domestic glove production companies established their own sizing system by copying inter-national brand's glove sizing system or by their experience. The Korean Standard of gloves and the 1997 Korean Standard Anthropometrics Measurement for producing glove patterns are not considered because of its discordance with the reality of the required measurements. Domestic glove production companies used different size designation and labeling system. Size measurement unit also showed difference among the glove production companies. Some companies used 'cm', some used 'mm', some used 'inch' for the measurement unit. In general, companies produced 5 to 4 sizes in one design of glove and the production was the highest in M and L size. In 9 out of 15 companies preferred control size as hand length and hand circumference. For reference size, most of the companies preferred finger circumference, finger length, palm length, hand breadth, crotch height, and hand thickness. Actual glove sizes were compared to the anthropometric data of the previous study. The results indicated that most of the measurements of actual glove sizes were significantly larger than the anthropometric data.

The circumference of the body is not only an indicator in order to buy clothes in our life but an important factor which can increase the effectiveness healing properly after figuring out the shape of body in a hospital. There are several measurement tools and methods so as to know this, however, it spends a lot of time because of the method measured by hand for accurate identification, compared to the modern advanced societies. Also, the current equipments for automatic body scanning are not easy to use due to their big volume or high price generally. In this papers, OpenPose model which is a deep learning-based Skeleton Tracking is used in order to solve the problems previous methods have and for ease of application. It was researched to find joints and an approximation by applying the data of the deep camera via reference data of the measurement parts provided by the hospitals and to develop a program which is able to measure the circumference of the body lighter and easier by utilizing the elliptical circumference formula.
