  • This paper describes on the temperature characteristics of a SDB(silicon-wafer direct bonding) SOI(silicon-on-insulator) Hall sensor. Using the buried oxide $SiO_2$ as a dielectrical isolation layer, a SDB SOI Hall sensor without pn junction isolation has been fabricated on the Si/$SiO_2$/Si structure. The Hall voltage and the sensitivity of the implemented SOI Hall sensor show good linearity with respect to the applied magnetic flux density and supplied current. In the temperature range of 25 to $300^{\circ}C$, the shifts of TCO(temperature coefficient of the offset voltage) and TCS(temperature coefficient of the product sensitivity) are less than $\pm 6.7$$\times$$10^{-3}$/$^{\circ}C$ and $\pm 8.2$$\times$$10^{-4}$/$^{\circ}C$respectively. These results indicate that the SDB SOI structure has potential for the development of a silicon Hall sensor with a high-sensitivity and hip high-temperature operation.

  • In this paper, the Si vertical Hall devices ale fabricated by using standard bipolar process and investigated in terms of the opeating and noise properties. The sensitivity of device with P+ isolation dam(type B) has been increased up to about 1.2 times compared to that device without the dam also noise has been increased. With the condition of f=I[KHz], band-width 1[Hz], the resolution of magnetic-field detection were about $0.97[{\mu}T]$/ type B and $1.25[{\mu}T]$/ type A, respectively, thus we must consider correlation the low noise or good resolution and high sensitivity in the situation for device geometry design or even for the materials.

  • Pinson Hall is a dormitory building of Chosen Christian College, built in 1922, and it still remains comparatively well preserved as original form. This building is worthy in that it shows the living space of western style college in Korea, as well as characteristics of collegiate gothic style and building technology, designed by western architect in 1920s. At first, based on literate review and field survey, this study aims to trace the construction background and process of Pinson Hall, and find out its architectural characteristics with the original form when it is used as dormitory. Additionally, it deals with historic meaning and value of Pinson Hall as a modern western style college dormitory, through comparison with other dormitories in the same era. In conclusion, Pinson Hall is a Western style dormitory which allows students to accustom themselves to Western life style, using bed and desk, as well as it shows the new building technology in the early 1920s which has mixture of masonry and reinforced concrete structure.

  • This study looked at the modification of major gardens while making Deoksugung Palace (德壽宮) a park in the Japanese colonial era. This is because landscaping work was carried out in various places from 1932 to 1933 to open Deoksugung Palace, which used to be an imperial palace, as a public recreation space. In particular, major gardens such as the front yard of Seokjojeon Hall (石造殿), the back yard of Hamnyeongjeon Hall (咸寧殿), and the back yard of Jeukjodang Hall (卽阼堂) were greatly transformed into different shapes from the original. During the first phase of construction in 1932, a water tank was installed in Seokjojeon Hall Garden, creating the first water space. This water tank was originally a structure installed in the front yard of Injeongjeon Hall (仁政殿) of Changdeokgung Palace (昌德宮). Around 1909, a water tank installed in the front yard of Injeongjeon Hall was relocated to Seokjojeon Garden in the process of turning Deoksugung Palace into a park. The water tank moved from the front yard of Injeongjeon Hall was a factor that transformed the central area of Seokjojeon Garden into a water space, and a fountain installed to replace the water tank remains to this day. The backyard of Hamnyeongjeon Hall was also renovated into a new shape during the first phase of construction. Originally, there was a terraced flowerbed called Hwagye (花階) in the backyard of Hamyujae Hall (咸有齋) and Hamnyeongjeon Hall, and it was restored from the construction that took place after the Great Fire of Deoksugung Palace. In the process of turning Deoksugung Palace into a park, a three-stage stonework was built in the front yard of Jeonggwanheon Pavilion (靜觀軒) which renovated the Hwagye in the backyard of Hamyujae Hall and Hamnyeongjeon Halll. The stonework built at that time was used as a peony garden to provide visitors with attractions after the opening of Deoksugung Palace, and it remains today with the name Jeonggwanheon's Hwagye. The backyard of the Jeukjodang Hall area is a case of damage in the second phase of construction in 1933. Like the backyard of Hamnyeongjeon Hall, the backyard of Jeukjodang Hall, where the Hwagye was originally built, was converted into a Japanese-style garden in the process of turning Deoksugung Palace into a park. The site where the Hwagye was demolished was decorated with a Japanese-style garden centered on mounding, small roads, and landscaping stones, as well as topographic control and planting work. Although there have been minor changes since liberation, the backyard of the Jeukjodang Hall area is still based on a Japanese-style garden created by turning Deoksugung Palace into a park.

  • A simple fault correction method for rotor position detection of a brushless DC(BLDC) motor with trapezoidal back EMF(electromotive force) using a Hall effect latch unit is presented. The reason why the Hall effect latch unit does not operate properly during the startup of a BLDC motor is thoroughly explained. To solve this problem, a simple code change method and its hardware implementation issues are proposed and discussed.

  • The offset voltage in silicon Hall plates is mainly caused by stress and strain in package, and by alignment in process. The offset voltage is appeared random for condition change with time in the factory, is non-linearly changed with temperature. In this paper proposed new method of design of Hall IC, and methematicaly proved relation layout of chip of 90$^{\circ}$-shift-current Hall plate pair is matched with "Differentail to single ended Conversion amplifier." In the experiment, the offset voltage is reduced about 1/100 time than the original offset voltage.

  • Although the stainless steel crowns have been recognized as the most effective and durable form of restoration for primary molars, they have been regarded by many dentists as having definite demerits such as invasive nature of procedural complexity and behavioral aspects of children. As an alternative to conventional technique of stainless steel crown restoration, the Hall technique was first introduced in 1988, which is characterized by just pushing the pre-contoured, cement filled crown form onto the abutment molar with no local anesthesia, no caries removal, no tooth preparation. According to several reports, this can slow, arrest, or even reverse the progress of caries. In addition, its atraumatic feature gives less discomfort and stress to children than conventional one, which is thought excellent especially in younger children. Also, It has been reported to be effective and acceptable to dentist, child patients and their parents. In this case study, three children with age of 4 years 5 months, 4 years 10 months, 6 years 4 months were treated with stainless steel crowns using Hall technique on first primary molar respectively. The teeth were free from pulpal, periapical pathology. After follow up of about 3 to 6 months period, the results showed clinically successful outcomes without any marked complication in pulp, tooth or soft tissue till now. But, it should be kept in mind that this technique is not proper to every child, every carious molar, or every dentist. Thorough distinction of indicated cases and continuous follow-up check is highly required. Conclusively, Hall technique might be an effective and realistic minimally invasive alternative for the carious primary molars especially in younger or disabled children, despite potential doubts on its efficacy and some definite limitations.
