The photovoltaic modules have each maximum power point, which depending on the intensity of sunlight, modules temperature and etc. Cuk converter is used to obtain the maximum charging power from photovoltaic modules to storage batteries. This paper proposed to a new tracking control method by detecting its current and voltage in photovoltaic power generation system controlled by microprocessor, in order to operate at the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) even if the sunlight and the temperature are varied.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between irrational belief and psychopathology. The Korean version of Symptom Check List-90-R and Irrational Belief Test were administered to 621 high school students in group. The author used Pearson correlation coefficiency and multiple regression analysis to seek the regression patterns of the irrational belief. The results were as follows. 1) Most of the subscales of the SCL-90-R and Irrational Belief Test were correlated significantly. 2) In multiple regression analysis, the irrational belief associated with anxious overconcern was the most predictable variable for psychopathology.

Spontaneous intracranial epidural hematoma (EDH) due to dural metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma is very rare. A 53-year-old male patient with hepatocellular carcinoma, who was admitted to the department of oncology, was referred to department of neurosurgery because of sudden mental deterioration to semicoma with papillary anisocoria and decerebrate rigidity after transarterial chemoembolization for hepatoma. Brain computed tomography (CT) revealed large amount of acute EDH with severe midline shifting. An emergent craniotomy and evacuation of EDH was performed. Active bleeding from middle cranial fossa floor was identified. There showed osteolytic change on the middle fossa floor with friable mass-like lesion spreading on the overlying dura suggesting metastasis. Pathological examination revealed anaplastic cells with sinusoidal arrangement which probably led to spontaneous hemorrhage and formation of EDH. As a rare cause of spontaneous EDH, dural metastasis from malignancy should be considered.

MCMB (mesocarbon microbeads) has been synthesized from coal tar pitch, petroleum pitch and polymer compound generally. But yield of MCMB was low about 20~40 wt% and was not above 50 wt%. Neither MCMB was replaced with natural graphite because of economic performance, refining MCMB, and control of the particle size distribution. This study was performed to elevate yield of MCMB and to develop technique of particle size distribution. As the result, yield of MCMB that was synthesized from coal tar pitch increased more than 60 wt% about raw material and particle size of MCMB was restrained according to control of QI (quinoline insoluble) ingredient in raw pitch, heat treatment temperature and time.

The inhibitory effects of MeOH extracts of 100 medicinal herbs on monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity were investigated. MAO was purified from mouse brain and its activity was determined by fluorospectrophotomer using kynuramine as a substrate. Nine kinds of MeOH extracts of herbs including Artemisia iwayomogi showed a mild inhibitory effect with ${100}-{200}\;{\mu}/ml$ in their $IC_{50}$ values on MAO activity. Seventeen MeOH extracts including Juglans mandshurica exhibited a weak inhibition of MAO activity with ${200}-{300}\;{\mu}/ml$ in their $IC_{50}$ values.

Intraperitoneal injection of morphine (5 mg/kg) in mice every other day for 8 days produced conditioned place preference (CPP). CPP effects were evaluated by assessing the difference in time spent in the drug-paired compartment and the saline-paired compartment of the place conditioning apparatus. The injection of a non-competitive NMDA antagonist, MK-801 (0.05 and 0.1 mg/kg, i.p.), prior to and during morphine treatment in mice Inhibited morphine-induced CPP. The development of postsynaptic dopamine (DA) receptor supersensitivity in mice displaying a morphine-induced CPP was evidenced by the enhanced response in ambulatory activity to the DA agonist, apomorphine (2 mg/kg). MK-801 inhibited that development of postsynaptic DA receptor supersensitivity MK-801 also inhibited apomorphine-induced climbing behavior, suggesting that MK-801 Inhibits dopaminergic activation mediated via the NMDA receptor.

Previous work in our laboratory has shown that noncompetitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonists, MK-801, ketamine, dextrorphan and dextromethorphan cause a pronounced inhibition of apomorphine-induced cage climbing behavior in intact mice, suggesting the involvement of NMDA receptors in the glutamatergic modulation of dopaminergic function at the postsynaptic dopamine (DA) receptors: Therefore, in order to definitively establish the involvement of NMDA receptor in the apomorphine-induced dopaminergic response at the postsynaptic DA receptor, it is necessary to investigate whether or not the noncompetitive NMDA receptor antagonists would inhibit these phenomena not only in intact mice but also in the mice that are devoid of any involvement of indirect dopaminergic function. To minimize the risk of any indirect involvement of NMDA antagonists with DA neurons, vesicular DA stores were first depleted with reserpine.

This paper proposed a new converter topology improving the split source type converter. In this converter. two switches and six diodes add to the split source type converter. The proposed converter has a performance minimized a negative torqe, putting a phase current off by double impressed voltage 2Vdc. Hence, a new converter results in increase of the average output power and improves converter efficiency in heavy load and high speed. Theoretical prediction is verified by experimental results got with a new proposed converter and 8/6 poles SRM.
