서보 모터의 피드백 전류와 위치신호를 이용한 서보건의 가압력 제어에 관한 연구 (The study of force control by using feedback current and encoder signal of the servo-motor on the servo-gun system)

  • Because of simple principal and low cost, resistance spot welding has been used a lot for joining the sheet metal in automotive manufacturing process. Welding current, welding time, and force are the most important variables in resistance spot wording. Air guns have hem still used widely. The requirement of synchronizing between robot and weld-gun has become bigger as the field has been automated. The number of servo-gun in the field is trending upward because there're advantages as like to synchronize with robot and to control the stroke path and force by programming on servo-gun system. But no cleared force control method is suggested on servo-gun system until now. In this study, we proved the feedback current of the servo-motor can be used to an excellent force measuring sensor and the force is controlled by the feedback current. And we also detected force lowering during welding cycle on the servo-gun system and solved by compensated force control.

  • The Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) has been considered as an inherently safe and reliable method far joining metals, and has been widely employed, especially in automobile body assembly shops, as a manufacturing process. In recent years, the requirement for more sophisticated quality control procedures has considerably grown in the mass production industries. The object of the application of servo control to spot welding gun is the improvement of quality control in the spot welding, one of conventional industrial areas. The important factors affecting welding qualities (shear strength, nuggest size, indentation depth) are welding current, welding time, and gun press force. Welding current and welding time are controlled by welding timer. But, the conventional welding guns using compressed air are out of control in changing gun press forces in welding process. In this paper, a servo gun welding system having a AC servo motor and a PC control system is presented. The main object of this paper is to estimate the influence of gun press force changes in the welding process (press time -> welding time -> hold time) to welding qualities, and to evaluate welding qualities in real time, by recognizing the patterns of gun press forces changed in the welding process and comparing with the standard patterns.

  • This paper describes a study on the developments of the high power brushless DC(BLDC) servo system for electric gun/turret drive system. The servo control unit including the DSP based digital servo unit, power amplifier, signal conditioning circuit, internal power circuit is designed and implemented for driving the 10hp BLDC servo system. The developed system is applied to the gun/turret drive & stabilization simulator system and the control performance is verfied through the experiments.

  • To meet an increasing demand for high performance in gun dynamic plant, both a precise and a fast response positioning are strongly required for the gun servo system. A mode switching control(MSC) scheme, which includes a fine stabilizing controller, fast positioning one and a switching function, is widely used to meet this requirement. Stabilization is performed through PID controller, while a time optimal control method is used for target designation. In this paper, a modified PTOS(Proximate Time Optimal Servomechanism) algorithm is derived so as to accommodate the damping term in the gun plant model. Also, applying a mode switching strategy, the bumpless transfer is made possible when the controller switches from PTOS to PID. To show the effectiveness of the overall control system, simulation results are given including the gun dynamics.

저항 점 용접 로봇에서 서보건의 가압력 제어를 통한 용접 강도 향상에 대한 연구 (A Study for the Improvement of Weld Quality Through Force Control of Servo Gun in Resistance Spot Welding using Robot)

  • Resistance spot welding is widely used for joining sheet metals in the automotive manufacturing process. Recently, servo-gun is used to increase the productivity and precise control the acting force. However, force control mechanisms have not been investigated with servo-guns until now. In this paper, it is proved that servo-motor current is proportional to torque and by experiment, experimental equation between servo-motor current and electrode force was derived. Algorithm for feedback control of electrode force was suggested using current measurement. In addition, applying soft touch method to this system the impact between electrode and specimen, which is the problem of air gun, could be reduced. Indentation made the force decrease in holding time of resistance spot welding. In order to overcome this problem, force compensation using the servo gun was used and it improved weld strength in good welding current range.

  • Air gun has been one of the good tools to press two sheet metals. However, it is not easy to control the acting force precisely. A Servo-gun is a good tool to control the acting force on the workpiece comparing with the air gun. Servo-gun has a higher tensile shear strength and lower indentation depth as well as smaller spatter. Dynamic resistance was obtained according to the acting force and welding current. As the acting force was changed during welding, the welding quality was increased.

  • Resistance spot welding using air gun has been used for joining the sheet metal in automotive manufacturing process. Although air gun has many advantages, it also has the limitation to control the pressure as a factor to improve weld quality. In this study, we apply servo gun using servo motor to resistance spot welding and find the relationship between welding pressure and welding quality. Trough the experiment to change welding pressure during the welding cycle, we can make it clear that the change of welding pressure is greatly influence on the welding quality. To get in a. using response surface methodology, drew out the optimal welding pressure profile for welding quality progresses. We made an optimal profile of welding pressure which improves welding quality using response surface methodology.

  • 저항 스폿 용접은 자동 용접라인 등에서 널리 사용된다. 최근에는, 대량으로 생산하는 산업현장에서 좀 더 정교한 품질 제어가 필요하게 되었고 마이크로프로세서를 채용한 제어의 다양한 적용으로 높은 생산성과 더 나은 용접품질을 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 인버터 타입 파우어 소스와 용접 서보건을 개발하였다. 그 결과, 기존의 공압건에 비해 몇 가지 장점을 갖게 되었는데 그 중의 하나는 용접공정 중에 정밀한 가압력 제어가 가능하게 되었다. 또한, 작업시간도 줄고 경비도 절감되는 부가 효과를 얻을 수 있다고 판단된다.

  • A servo gun welding system having a AC servo motor and a PC control system is presented for the improvement of quality control in the spot welding. The spot welding process is composed of the press stage, the weld stage, and the hold stage. The changes of gun press forces according to three stages in the spot welding process are controlled and measured through the load cell in order to know the influence on the welding quality. The relation between the measured force changes according to three stages and welding qualities is also implemented on the multilayer perceptrons, one of supervised learning method of neural network, which are powerful for realization of complex mapping characteristics.   • A hydraulic gun/turret servo system requires fast and robust controller performance because of severe operating condition and precise target tracking objective. Digital controllers are able to satisfy this requirement due to high speed electronic device. The purpose of this study is to compare with pre-EPU with new-designed optimal, adaptive controllers by simulating nonlinear hydraulic simulation program. The designed digital controller shows good tracking performance and robustness to disturbance.
