High purity single crystalline calcium fluoride ($CaF_2$) has excellent optical transmission characteristics down to deep UV and is therefore selected as the main optical material for the next generation of lithography apparatus operating at wavelength of 157 nm. The growth of large sized $CaF_2$ single crystals with the required properties for this optical application can be achieved only by optimizing the crystal growth process by the aid of numerical simulation. This needs especially a precise calculation of the heat transport and temperature distribution in the solid and liquid $CaF_2$ under crystal growth conditions. As $CaF_2$ is considered to be semitransparent, the internal radiative heat transfer in $CaF_2$ plays an decisive role in the simulation of the heat transport. On the other hand it is very difficult to obtain quantitative experimental data for evaluating numerical models as $CaF_2$ is extremely corrosive at high temperatures. In this work we present a newly developed experimental technique to perform temperature measurements in $CaF_2$-crystal as well as in the melt under conditions of crystal growth process. These experimental results are compared to calculated temperature data, which were obtained by using different numerical models concerning the internal heat transfer in semitransparent $CaF_2$. It will be shown, that an advanced model, which was developed by the authors, gives a much better agreement with experimental data as a standard model, which was taken from the literature.
Ru films were successfully prepared by plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) using $Ru(EtCp)_2$ and $NH_3$ plasma. To optimize Ru PEALD process, the effect of growth temperature, $NH_3$ plasma power and $NH_3$ plasma time on the growth rate and preferred orientation of the deposited film was systemically investigated. At a growth temperature of $270^{\circ}C$ and $NH_3$ plasma power of 100W, the saturated growth rate of 0.038 nm/cycle was obtained on the flat $SiO_2$/Si substrate when the $Ru(EtCp)_2$ and $NH_3$ plasma time was 7 and 10 sec, respectively. When the growth temperature was decreased, however, an increased $NH_3$ plasma time was required to obtain a saturated growth rate of 0.038 nm/cycle. Also, $NH_3$ plasma power higher than 40 W was required to obtain a saturated growth rate of 0.038 nm/cycle even at a growth temperature of $270^{\circ}C$. However, (002) preferred orientation of Ru film was only observed at higher plasma power than 100W. Moreover, the saturation condition obtained on the flat $SiO_2$/Si substrate resulted in poor step coverage of Ru on the trench pattern with an aspect ratio of 8:1, and longer $NH_3$ plasma time improved the step coverage.

Most mono-crystalline silicon ingots are manufactured by the Czochralski (Cz) process. But If there are oxygen impurities, These Si-ingot tends to show low-efficiency when it is processed to be solar cell substrate. For making single-crystal Si- ingot, We need Czochralski (Cz) process which melts molten Si and then crystallizing it with seed of single-crystal Si. For melts poly Si-chunk and forming of single-crystalline Si-ingot, the heat transfer plays a main role in the structure of Cz-process. In this study to obtain high-quality Si ingot, the Cz-process was modified with the process design. The crystal growth simulation was employed with pulling rate and rotation speed optimization. Studies for modified Cz-process and the corresponding results have been discussed. The results revealed that using crystal growth simulation, we optimized the oxygen concentration of single crystal silicon by the optimal design of the pulling rate, rotation speed and melt charge level of Cz-process.

In this study, we isolated and identified bacteria from freshwater and soil collected from Osang reservoir, to screen antimicrobial bacteria against various pathogenic bacteria. 38 strains were isolated and assigned to the class Proteobacteria (22 strains), Actinobacteria (7 strains), Bacteroidets (6 strains), and Firmicutes (3 strains) based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Among them, strain OS17 showed a good growth inhibition against 5 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus subsp. aureus strains and Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Filobasidium neoformans. As a result of the 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain OS17 show the high similarity with Burkholderia ambifaria $AMMD^T$, B. diffusa $AM747629^T$, B. tettitorii $LK023503^T$ 99.8%, 99.7%, 99.6%, respectively. We investigated cell growth and antimicrobial activity according to commercial culture medium, temperature, pH for culture optimization of strain OS17. Optimal conditions for growth and antimicrobial activity in strain OS17 were found to be: YPD medium, $35^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.5. When the strain was cultured in LB, NB, TSB, R2A media at $20^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, the antimicrobial activity did not show. Culture filtrate of strain OS17 showed antimicrobial activity against 5 MRSA strains, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, and Filobasidium neoformans with inhibition zones from 2 to 8 mm. Optimal reaction time was 48 h in YPD medium, 100 rpm and 0.3 vvm in 2 L-scale fed-batch fermentation process for antimicrobial activity. Culture optimization of strain OS17 can be improved on antimicrobial activity. Therefore, the antimicrobial activity of Burkholderia sp. OS17 had potential as antibiotics for pathogens including MRSA.

This paper describes the finite element analysis and die design change of cold heading punching process to increase the cold forging tool life and reduce the tool wear and stress concentration. Through this study, the optimization of punch tool design has been studied by an analysis of tool stress and wear distribution to improve the tool life. Plastic deformation analysis was carried out in order to understand the cold heading process between tool and workpiece stress distribution. Cold heading punch die design was set up to each process with different four types analysis progressing, the cold heading punch dies shapes with combination of point angle and punch edge corner radius shapes of cold forging dies, punch die material properties and frictional coefficient. The design parameters of point angle and corner radius of punch die geometry, die material properties and frictional coefficient were selected to apply optimization with the DoE (design of experiment) and Taguchi method. DoE and Taguchi method was performed to optimize the cold heading punch die design parameters optimization for bolt head cold forging process, it was possible to expect an reduce the cold heading punch die wear to the 37 % compared with current using cold heading punch in the shop floor.

In this study, we sought to investigate the production and optimization of biosurfactants by soil fungi isolated from petroleum oil-contaminated soil in Saudi Arabia. Forty-four fungal isolates were isolated from ten petroleum oil-contaminated soil samples. All isolates were identified using the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, and biosurfactant screening showed that thirty-nine of the isolates were positive. Aspergillus niger SA1 was the highest biosurfactant producer, demonstrating surface tension, drop collapsing, oil displacement, and an emulsification index (E24) of 35.8 mN/m, 0.55 cm, 6.7 cm, and 70%, respectively. This isolate was therefore selected for biosurfactant optimization using the Fit Group model. The biosurfactant yield was increased 1.22 times higher than in the nonoptimized medium (8.02 g/l) under conditions of pH 6, temperature 35℃, waste frying oil (5.5 g), agitation rate of 200 rpm, and an incubation period of 7 days. Model significance and fitness analysis had an RMSE score of 0.852 and a p-value of 0.0016. The biosurfactant activities were surface tension (35.8 mN/m), drop collapsing (0.7 cm), oil displacement (4.5 cm), and E24 (65.0%). The time course of biosurfactant production was a growth-associated phase. The main outputs of the mathematical model for biomass yield were Yx/s (1.18), and µmax (0.0306) for biosurfactant yield was Yp/s (1.87) and Yp/x (2.51); for waste frying oil consumption the So was 55 g/l, and Ke was 2.56. To verify the model's accuracy, percentage errors between biomass and biosurfactant yields were determined by experimental work and calculated using model equations. The average error of biomass yield was 2.68%, and the average error percentage of biosurfactant yield was 3.39%.

Newly, nutrients recovery by bioconversion in the swine waste which caused serious problems due to its high organic fraction and content of nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen is viewed as a considerable approach since it produces valuable product as well as recycling of resources. Consequently, it is necessary to find new methods to treat swine waste. One possible solution to this problem is to use this potential pollutant as a growth substrate for economically valuable products. The study for the fundamental improvement of bioconversion efficiency by finding optimum growth conditions using statistical models and biotechnology was performed. A novel approach to utilize swine waste by cultivating mycelia of the mushroom Phellinus linteus are described. A central composite face-centered design (CCF) for the experiments was used to develop empirical model providing a quantitative interpretation of the relationships among the three variables, which were substrate concentration, pH, and temperature. The maximal radial extension rate (2.78mm/d) of P.linteus was determined under the condition of 5.0 g COD/L, pH 5.0, and temperature $29.7^{\circ}C$. The results of this study suggest that swine waste could be utilized as a growth substrate for the cultivation of mushroom mycelia enhancing an efficiency of utilizing this by-product of the livestock industry.
An extracellular polysaccharide, methylan, was produced under the specific conditions by Methylobacterium organophilum from methanol. The specific growth rate of cells was approximately constant regardless of C/N ratio and the specific product yield was maximum at a C/N ratio of 30. Methylan production was suppressed by the deficiency of mineral ions such as Mn$^{++}$ or Fe$^{++}$ ion. The optimal pH for cell growth and methylan production was 7. Whereas the optimal temperature for cell growth was found to be 37$^{\circ}C$, that for methylan production was 3$0^{\circ}C$. The methanol concentration above 4% completely inhibited the cell growth. The initial methanol concentration for the maximal production of methylan was 0.5% (v/v) and above this concentration, methylan production was markedly inhibited. To overcome the substrate toxicity and inhibition for both cell growth and methylan production, a fed-bach culture of intermittent feeding within 5 g/l methanol was conducted under the optimal culture condition. Methylan production of was stimulated by nitrogen limitation and methylan was accumulated up to 8.7 g/1 and cell mass also increased up to 12.4 g/l.

The influences of inoculum size, pH, and medium composition on mycelial growth and exopolysaccharides (EPS) production were investigated in shake flasks and in a bioreactor. The optimum inoculum size for both mycelial growth and EPS production was identified to be 10% (v/v) in shake flask cultures. The optimal initial pH for mycelial growth and EPS production in shake flask cultures were found to be 5.0 and 7.0, respectively. However, the optimal pH was 5.0 for both mycelial growth and EPS production in bioreactor cultures where the pH was regulated. The optimal mass ratio of the two major carbon sources, glucose to dextrin, was 1:4. The optimal mass ratio of the two major nitrogen sources, yeast extract to soy tone peptone, was 2:1. When 500 mg $1^{-1}$ of $MnSO_4-5H_2O$ was added to the bioreactor culture, both mycelial growth and EPS production were enhanced by approximately 10%. Under the optimized conditions, a mycelial biomass of 9.85 g $1^{-1}$ and an EPS concentration of 4.92 g $1^{-1}$ were obtained in 4 days.
The yield of infective juveniles of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (Tf strain) in vitro monoxenic liquid culture was improved significantly as the amount of symbiont biomass, Photorhabdus sp. strain Tf, increased. To investigate the influence of abiotic factors on the growth and biomass production of Photorhabdus sp. strain Tf, triplicate flask cu1tmes were performed. The optinal temperature and medium pH for the growth of Photorhahdus sp. strain Tf were 30$^{\circ}$C and between pH 5.5-7.3, respectively. Aeration also improved greatly growth and yield of biomass of Photorhabdus sp. strain Tf. Photorhabdus sp. strain Tf in batch fermentation showed growth-associated pattem in terms of pigment production, and the pH of culture medium rose steadily until growth stopped dUling the fermentation. Both pigment production and culture pH rise would be useful parameters indicating a reliable growth of Photorhabdus sp. strain Tf.
