  • Craniofacial complex is influenced by numerical skeletal elements. Though the analysis of growth change has been done by various analytical methods, it was dependent on any method of registration and superimposition, based on reference plane and reference point. However, the craniofacial growth is composed of a number of local growth elements. Therefore, it will be necessary to use a clinically useful method for estimating craniofacial skeletal growth independently. The author analysed longitudinal cephalometric roentgenogram of 15 Korean males and 15 Korean females aged from 6 to 12 years by the finite element method and results were as follows : 1. The finite element method for craniofacial skeletal complex and soft tissue made it possible to analyze the independent local growth. 2. Regression equations from the value of each strain will make it possible to predict the craniofacial growth. 3. The growth of anterior cranial base was different from that of other facial bone. 4. The growth of posterior cranial base influenced the growth of upper pharyngeal region, midfacial region, maxilla and posterior region of mandible. 5. The growth of maxillary complex was vertical rather than horizontal. 6. The growth direction of ramus, mandibular body, alveolar bone was various. 7. The relation between hard tissue and soft tissue by finite element method was variant.

Studies on Antler (II) Effect of Antler on the Growth of the Experimental Rats(part 1) (녹용에 관한 연구(제 2 보) 녹용이 실험용백서의 성장에 미치는 영향에 대하여 (기일))

  • In order to know the effect on the growth of experimental rats, this, this experimental rats, this experiment was carried out on two groups of rats-a rice-diet animal group and a stock-diet animal group. Results of the growth experiment are shown in the tables 3 and 4, and growth curves are shown in the figures 1 and 2. The growth curves are shown in the figures 3 and 4. Based on the statistical analysis of growth rats, the male group on stock-diet was stimulated significantly in its growth by adding antler. The female group on rice-diet was also significantly stimulated in growth by anter. The other groups are not significant but it seems likely that the growths wers stimulated. As shown in table 7, the numbers of days when the body weight of the animals in each group became two times, three times, three times, and four times are discussed. This method of analysis shows clearly the stimulation of growth by adding antler in each group in both sexes. It can be summarized that the antler stimulates the growth of the experimental rats but it is not discussed in this paper whether this stimulation in the growth might be due to calcium, vitamins and amino acids in antler or to an unknown growth factor.

  • After the launch of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in 2006, a number of real estate development projects were carried out; the real estate industry has relatively largely grown as compared with other regions since 2011. This growth has slowed down in 2017, along with the increase of unsold houses and the short of its incoming population, causing its real estate market recession. This study analyzed the source of real estate industry growth in Jeju: either affected by national growth power or its regional competitiveness. This study applied Shift-Share Analysis and Growth Differential Analysis, by dividing the recovery period ('06~'10) and expansion period ('11~'16). According to the result, sales amount and the number of employees in the real estate industry in Jeju had grown in the recovery period based on the national growth power. Its regional competitiveness and stable industrial structure grew in the growth period. Development and subdividing of real estate contributed to the growth of the real estate industry in Jeju. On the other hand, management of real estate weakened its market.

Analysis of Integration and Growth Factors for Maritime Industry -With focus on Jeollanamdo Province-

  • The maritime industry has emerged as a new growth engine. The municipalities that own the port are trying to add value through the maritime industry. Overseas port cities are also creating maritime industrial clusters to generate profits and strengthen competitiveness. Therefore, it is very important to understand the comparative status of the domestic maritime industry by region. Based on this analysis, it is possible to establish maritime industrial clusters and strategies for integration. This study analyzed the structure of the maritime industry located in Jeollanamdo province, the southwestern part of Korea. Through the analysis of existing literature, the maritime industry was reclassified into 5 major categories, 21 subcategories, and 84 subcategories. Based on the reclassified maritime industry, the analysis of the Jeollanamdo province maritime industry was based on applying the location quotient and the shift-share analysis. As a result of analyzing the geographical location of Jeollanamdo province, other industries showed the highest value of 2.790, followed by fisheries (2.227), shipbuilding industry (1.164) and marine tourism industry (0.554). The growth effect of the maritime industry in Jeollanamdo province was 35,323 people, and net growth effect excluding national growth effect was 11,945 people. In particular, the net growth effect of the shipbuilding industry was the highest at 11,320, followed by shipping logistics (6,371) and marine tourism (1,529). On the other hand, there was no net growth effect in fisheries. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the construction of the maritime industrial cluster for Jellanamdo province in the future.

Comparison of long-term forecasting performance of export growth rate using time series analysis models and machine learning analysis (시계열 분석 모형 및 머신 러닝 분석을 이용한 수출 증가율 장기예측 성능 비교)

  • In this paper, various time series analysis models and machine learning models are presented for long-term prediction of export growth rate, and the prediction performance is compared and reviewed by RMSE and MAE. Export growth rate is one of the major economic indicators to evaluate the economic status. And It is also used to predict economic forecast. The export growth rate may have a negative (-) value as well as a positive (+) value. Therefore, Instead of using the ReLU function, which is often used for time series prediction of deep learning models, the PReLU function, which can have a negative (-) value as an output value, was used as the activation function of deep learning models. The time series prediction performance of each model for three types of data was compared and reviewed. The forecast data of long-term prediction of export growth rate was deduced by three forecast methods such as a fixed forecast method, a recursive forecast method and a rolling forecast method. As a result of the forecast, the traditional time series analysis model, ARDL, showed excellent performance, but as the time period of learning data increases, the performance of machine learning models including LSTM was relatively improved.

  • Nowadays, urbanized area expands its boundary, and distribution of urbanized area is gradually transformed into more complicated pattern. In Korea, SMA(Seoul Metropolitan Area) has outstanding urbanized area since 1960. But it is ambiguous whether urban distribution is clustered or dispersed. That is to say, it is difficult to understand spatial distribution pattern of urbanized area, although urbanized area has grown gradually. This study aims to show the way in which expansions of urbanized area impact on spatial distribution pattern of urbanized area. We use GIS analysis based on raster dataset, quadrat analysis, and nearest neighbor analysis to know distribution pattern of urbanized area in time-series urban growth. Experiments show that cohesion of SMA's urbanized area had increased to the early 1980s, but has decreased from the middle 1980s. Also, urban growth of SMA has been characterized not by spillover growth but by leapfrogging growth and road-influenced growth since the middle 1980s.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the difference of chin morphology and mandibular form in relation to different mandibular growth direction. The subject was divided into three group i.e., control group, vertical group, and horizontal group, according to the criteria of $Bj{\ddot{o}}rk$ sum, and each group was composed of 15 females and 15 males. Medial axis analysis in addition to the routine cephalometric analysis using P.I.A.S. (personal image analysing system) was carried out to find out the differences of mandibular morphology on each group. The results were as follows: 1. The area of symphysis was larger in horizontal growth group than that of vertical growth group. 2. Protruding chin area was also larger in horizontal growth group than that of vertical growth group. 3. There was a close correlationship between protruding chin area and other form of mandible. 4. Antegonial notch depth and ramus posterior contour depth was deeper in vertical growth group than in horizontal growth group, and antegonial notch depth was more influenced by anterior part of notch than posterior part of notch. 5. Mental medial axis and incisal medial axis length, in relation to corpus medial axis length was larger in vertical growth group than in horizontal growth group.

  • Numerical analysis of bubble motion during nucleate boiling is performed by imposing a constant heat flux condition at the base of a heater which occurs in most of boiling experiments. The temporal and spatial variation of a solid surface temperature associated with the bubble growth and departure is investigated by solving a conjugate problem involving conduction in the solid. The vapor-liquid interface is tracked by a level set method which is modified to include the effects of phase change at the interface, contact angle at the wall and evaporative heat flux in a thin liquid micro-layer. Based on the numerical results, the bubble growth pattern and its interaction with the heating solid are discussed. Also, the effect of heating condition on the bubble growth under a micro-gravity condition is investigated.

  • Various growth models were each fitted onto the data sets in an attempt to determine which growth models achieved the best forecasts for differing types of growth data. Of six such models studied, some models do significantly better than others in predicting future levels of growth. It is recommened that Weibull and the Gompertz growth curve be considered along with Pearl model by those industries presently considering the implementation of substitution analysis in their life analysis. In the early stage of growth, linear estimation should suffice to give reasonable forecasts. In the latter stage, however, as more data become availavle, nonlinear estimation should be used.

  • This study investigated the relationship between economic growth and energy security risk levels in Korea using linear and non-linear ARDL methods. While there are many studies on the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth, few studies focus on the relationship between energy security and economic growth considering 4A dimensions of energy security such as energy availability, accessibility, acceptability, and affordability. Energy risk index from Global Energy Institue and GDP data from world bank are used for ARDL and NARDL analysis. Our result of ARDL shows that there is no long-term relationship between energy security risk levels and economic growth. On the other hand, NARDL result shows that there is an asymmetric relationship between economic growth and energy security risk levels in the long run. The results show the importance of expending further research on ensuring energy security to policymakers.
