  • Mathematics is extreme the differences of the scholarly attainments in comparison with other subjects at a middle school. Specially, the students at islands and places leave much to be desired the scholarly attainments standards of mathematics. Therefore, every school takes movement class according to level these days. And the small schools put in effect the cooperation of group work through the small groups. These classes are effective at the scholarly attainments extension to some degree, but each student is extreme the differences of scholarly attainments. On this, the small school was the subject of study at the present research and put in effect the cooperation of group work through the small groups. The students were divided in three groups; the top class, average, the low class, And they were offered the fitting textbooks matching the cooperation of group work and the opportunities of discovery learning fitting an individual ability and standard. Consequently, some educational materials were made, for example, question papers, commonness learning materials, choice learning materials. These materials were put in effect to the students to be able to succeed discovery learning. With this, the students were investigated an interest of mathematics and the influence giving at the studies attainment. And the students were put in effect the cooperation of group work through the small groups to improve uniformity and sturdiness of the mathematical education. The conclusion at the present research is as follows. 1) When the students put in effect the cooperation of group work through the small groups, the scholarly attainments of mathematics totally didn't display useful changes as improvement. However, the students of average and the low class gradually seemed to improve the scholarly attainments of mathematics as the help of the top class positively. 2) An individual and cooperation learning in the method of the cooperation of group work through the small groups displayed many changes at the learning attitude of the students by means of discovery learning thanks to the learning heads. 3) When the investigator put in effect the cooperation of group work through rather the small groups than the large groups, the numbers of the students experiencing interest about mathematics increased in 26% and this learning method should continue to progress.

  • Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is considered to be related to knee straining activities at work. The objective of this review is to assess the exposure dose-response relation between kneeling or squatting, lifting, and climbing stairs at work, and knee osteoarthritis. Methods: We included cohort and case-control studies. For each study that reported enough data, we calculated the odds ratio (OR) per 5,000 hours of cumulative kneeling and per 100,000 kg of cumulative lifting. We pooled these incremental ORs in a random effects meta-analysis. Results: We included 15 studies (2 cohort and 13 case-control studies) of which nine assessed risks in more than two exposure categories. We considered all but one study at high risk of bias. The incremental OR per 5,000 hours of kneeling was 1.26 (95% confidence interval 1.17-1.35, 5 studies, moderate quality evidence) for a log-linear exposure dose-response model. For lifting, there was no exposure dose-response per 100,000 kg of lifetime lifting (OR 1.00, 95% confidence interval 1.00-1.01). For climbing, an exposure dose-response could not be calculated. Conclusion: There is moderate quality evidence that longer cumulative exposure to kneeling or squatting at work leads to a higher risk of osteoarthritis of the knee. For other exposure, there was no exposure dose-response or there were insufficient data to establish this. More reliable exposure measurements would increase the quality of the evidence.

  • Objective and Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of individual characteristics, work-related factors, lifestyle factors, and health problems with work ability among aging workers in Korea. Method: In this cross-sectional survey, the study population consisted of 1,594 workers who had participated in a voluntary health promotion center and private workplace. Participants completed the work ability index. Results: The mean WAI score was 37.4, while the mean age of the sample was 43.25. In the age group over 50 showed 36.26. The majority of participants rated their work ability as 'good' to 'excellent', one-third moderate and about 7.5% poor. Work ability decreased significantly with age among the men. The younger group had higher scores on the work ability index than the age group over 50, except for mental resources. By work characteristics, work ability was analyzed to be the lowest in the case of work handling heavy stuff. Lastly, as a result of health factors analysis, the good management and retention of current health status can be the measure helpful to the improvement of work ability. Conclusion and Application: According to the results, it can be a basic principle to devise and enforce preventive measures on the factors for which improvement or action is possible, together with workplace-level systematic approach, in order to improve work ability. For such measures to be realized, it is necessary to check trends in change for several years.

  • Regarding leisure and work as very important in residential life of old ages, this study analyzed their preference by leisure and work for senior congregate housing, which can provide proper work and leisure activities for older people who are able to manage their social activities with healthy condition. It conducted a survey of middle aged of the 50's who would face problems of senior housing in 2010, with stratified sampling by region, sex and housing structure type. Totally 556 Questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The research results showed that, first, the group which was positive toward their works mostly had spouse of the age of early 50' s and work for professional, technological, managerial positions with good health. Second, the more positive group towards their work showed high willingness to move in senior congregate housing, than a negative group towards their work, and put a weight on the openness of shared space and facilities as well as various alarming equipments, common space, common programs and the ability of managers. Third, according to the attitudes toward leisure activities, there were differences in each group by housing structure type, education of their own or their spouses, monthly income, property, economic ability, health condition, living together with spouse, housing tenureship, and usable area of houses. The fourth was that those who enjoy active leisure activities presented high willingness to move in senior congregate housing than those of negative attitude and also there was a difference in managerial ways. Throughout the results of the study, it appeared that a group of positive attitude toward work and leisure, than that of negative attitude, recognized the importance of senior congregate housing which social and leisure programs could support. It implied necessary to develop housing for the older people who have enough ability to manage their leisure activity as well as their work. The study is likely to have a contribution to suggest practical data for helping the development of housing for self-reliant seniors by analyzing their preference on senior congregate housing by their attitudes toward work. The research for the factors of various designs and managements by leisure and work may become the following research theme of the study.

  • This study conducted an e-mail survey of office workers working in large companies in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do to verify the structural relationship between meaning in work, work-life balance, life satisfaction, and depression. The study participants were 329 male and 176 female workers, and a total of 505 ($\bar{M}=38.0$ yrs, $\bar{SD}=8.1$ yrs), and the measurement tools used the Korean version of work meaning scale, work-life balance scale, Korean version of life satisfaction scale, and shortened CES-D. After establishing a research model on the structural relationship between major variables, the measurement model and structural model were verified using the collected data, and the applicability of the model was reviewed through comparison according to group classification by gender and age group. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the work-life balance had a partial mediating effect on the effect of the meaning in work on the life satisfaction and depression of office workers. As a result of analyzing the multi-group structural model by age group, the mediating effect of work-life balance did not differ by age in the effect of meaning in work on life satisfaction, but the mediating effect of work-life balance on meaning in work on depression was different by age. These results suggest that the emphasis needs to vary depending on the target group in the practice of individual and group coaching and counseling.

  • Collaborative learning encourages the use of high-level cognitive strategies, critical thinking, and interpersonal relationships. Despite these advantages, most instructors reveal the difficulties of using project-based collaborative learning; a common problem is the failure of the group to work effectively together. Thus, this study attempted to provide practical advice on group composition with self-regulation. In a college course, 31 groups with 129 students were asked to discuss and prepare the final presentation material and present it together as a collaborative work. All students' self-regulation skills were measured at the beginning of the semester, and the collective self-regulation was computed as an average of the individual scores of each group. The results of regression analysis indicate that the group's collective self-regulation shows a highly significant positive effect on group performance and satisfaction, as self-regulation predicts individual academic performance. The results also show that there is a significant positive relationship between students' self-regulation and participation in group work.
