This paper describes the design of navigation system for an unmanned target drone which is operated by Korean army as for anti-air gun shooting training. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated nowdays use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed by integrating combining power module, switching module, monitoring module and RC receiver as an one module. The performance of navigation for low cost unmanned aerial vehicle, unmanned target drone as our test bed in this paper is verified by both Hardware in the loop simulation(HILS) to test performance of GPS as GPS output frequency high and results of flight test.

A 3-month-old Korean native cattle (Hanwoo) calf with difficulty taking normal posture and an inability to rise was referred for a definite diagnosis and active treatment, including surgery. The calf had a history of an accident in which both hind limbs were trapped in a barn structure. After admission, a "rabbit leg" posture was observed, a typical sign of gastrocnemius muscle rupture, and both digits were knuckled downward like they were trying to grip the ground. This was considered to be a result of the superficial digital flexor not rupturing but only the gastrocnemius muscle rupturing. Physical examination revealed laceration of the metatarsus and firmness behind both stifle joints which were presumed to be the sites of gastrocnemius muscle rupture. Skeletal abnormalities, including fractures, were ruled out by radiography. Based on these findings, the patient was diagnosed with bilateral gastrocnemius muscle rupture, and surgery was performed to reconnect the head of the ruptured muscle. Because the rupture occurred perpendicular to the muscle direction, the locking loop technique, a method of suturing severed tendons, was used to reduce the tension. After surgery, the cast was used to prevent further injuries and promote voluntary rehabilitation. Follow-up was completed, with the calf showing normal posture and gait 112 days after surgery. This is the first case report in the Republic of Korea describing the successful diagnosis and treatment of bilateral gastrocnemius muscle rupture in a calf.
In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have been widely used in various industries. However, as the depend ence on UAV increases rapidly, concerns about the security and safety of UAV are growing. Currently, various vulnerabili ties such as stealing the control right of the UAV or the right to communicate with the UAV in the web application are being disclosed. However, there is a lack of research related to the security of UAV. Therefore, in this paper, a study was conducted to determine whether the packet data was normal or abnormal by collecting packet data of an unmanned aerial vehicle in a HITL(Hardware In The Loop) simulation environment similar to the real environment. In addition, this paper proposes a method for reducing computational cost in the modeling process and increasing the ease of data interpretation, a machine learning-based anomaly detection model that detects abnormal data by learning only normal data, and optimized hyperparameter values.
Engineering qualification model payload for a communications and broadcasting satellite(CBS) was developed by ETRI from May, 2000 to April, 2003. For. the purpose of functional test and verification of the payload, a real-time hardware-in-the-loop(HITL) CBS simulator(CBSSIM) was also developed. We assumed that the spacecraft platform for the CBSSIM is a geostationary communication satellite using momentum bias three-axis stabilization control technique based on Koreasat. The payload hardware is combined with CBSSIM via Power, Command and Telemetry System(PCTS) of Electrical Ground Support Equipment(EGSE). CBSSIM is connected with PCTS by TCP/IP and the payload is combined with PCTS by MIL-STD-1553B protocol and DC harness. This simulator runs under the PC-based simulation environment with Windows 2000 operating system. The satellite commands from the operators are transferred to the payload or bus subsystem models through the real-time process block in the simulator. Design requirements of the CBSSIM are to operate in real-time and generate telemetry. CBSSIM provides various graphic monitoring interfaces and control functions and supports both pre-launch and after-launch of a communication satellite system. In this paper, the HITL simulator system including CBSSIM, communications payload and PCTS as the medium of interface between CBSSIM and communications payload will be described in aspects of the system architecture, spacecraft models, and simulator operation environment.

Korean government plans to launch a lunar orbiter and a lander to the Moon by 2020. Before launch these two proves, an experimental lunar orbiter will be launched by 2018 to obtain key space technologies for the lunar exploration. Several payloads equipped in experimental lunar orbiter will monitor the surface of the Moon and will gather science data. Lunar orbiter sends telemetry and receives tele-command from ground using S-band while science data is sent to ground stations using X-band when the visibility is available. Korean deep space network will be mainly used for S and X-band communication with lunar orbiter. Deep Space Network or Universal Space Network can also be used for the S-band during trans-lunar phase when korean deep space network is not available and will be used for the S-band in normal mission orbit as a backup. This paper analyzes a visibility condition based on the combination of various ground antennas and its mask angles according to mission scenario to predict the number of contacts per day and to build an operational scenario for the lunar orbiter.

Geotechnical design routinely requires that in-situ strength, stiffness of the ground be determined. In the working stress conditions, the strain level in a ground experienced by existing structures and during construction is less than about 0.1%~1%. In order to analyze the deformational behavior accurately, the in-situ testing technique which provides the reliable deformational characteristics at small strains, needs to be developed. Cone pressuremeter tests were performed on the western off-shore region of korea, and analyzed using cavity expansion theory and curve fitting technique to obtain the shear modulus at small strain level of $10^{-1}%$. The value of $E_u/S_u$ ratio for the marine clay shows about 589 at the small strain. However the value of $E_u/S_u$ estimated by lab tests are much smaller values ranged from 81 to 91. It is indicated that the curve fitting technique from CPM tests results can be used to obtain the shear modulus at small strain.
Travel time is one of the most important traffic parameters to evaluate operational performance of freeways. A variety of methods have been proposed to estimate travel times. One feasible solution to estimating travel times is to utilize existing loop detector-based infrastructure since the loops are the most widely deployed detection system in the world. This study proposed a new approach to estimate travel times for freeways. Inductive vehicle signatures extracted from the loop detectors were used to match vehicles from upstream and downstream stations. Ground-truthing was also conducted to systematically evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm by recognizing individual vehicles captured by video cameras placed at upstream and downstream detection stations. A lexicographic optimization method vehicle reidentification algorithm was developed. Vehicle features representing the characteristics of individual vehicles such as vehicle length and interpolations extracted from the signature were used as inputs of the algorithm. Parameters associated with the signature matching algorithm were calibrated in terms of maximizing correct matching rates. It is expected that the algorithm would be a useful method to estimate freeway link travel times.
This study was carried out to investigate solutes concentration change with respect to discharge change in coniferous forest experiment watershed in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. From 2005 to 2008. Precipitation, discharge, solutes has been analyzed from 23 precipitation events. The results showed that low API induced low discharge. $NH_4{^+}$, $K^+$, and $Ca^{2+}$ were indicated by clockwise and $Cl^-$ and $NO_3{^-}$ were represented by counterclockwise hysteresis loop. ${SO_4}^{2-}$, $Na^+$, $Mg^{2+}$ showed no hysteresis loop pattern. $Cl^-$, $Na^+$, $NH_4{^+}$ was relatively constant due to groundwater during precipitation, $NO_3{^-}$ was increased due to soil water compared to early precipitation. $Cl^-$, ${SO_4}^{2-}$, $Na^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$ was diluted with respect to increased discharge and $NO_3{^-}$ was diluted in early precipitation and then increased in the end. $NO_3{^-}$ and $Ca^{2+}$ eluviated in early precipitation. This characteristics was presumed by the effect of API, discharge and ground water.

Active vibration control system(AVCS) for helicopter enables to control the vibration generated from the main rotor and has the superb vibration reduction performance with low weight compared passive vibration reduction device. In this paper, FxLMS algorithm-based vibration control software of the light civil helicopter tansmits the control command calculated using the signals of the tachometer and accelerometers to the circular force generator(CFG) is developed and verified. According to the RTCA DO-178C/DO-331, the vibration control software is developed through the model based design technique, and real-time operation performance is evaluated in PILS(processor in-the loop simulation) and HILS(hardware in-the loop simulation) environments. In particular, the reliability of the software is improved through the LDRA-based verification coverage in the PIL environments. In order to AVCS to light civil helicopter(LCH), the dynamic response characteristic model is obtained through the ground/flight tests. AVCS configuration which exhibits the optimal performance is determined using system optimization analysis and flight test and obtain STC certification.

A pressure control law to regulate pressure of gas generator is suggested. To design a model based control law, the governing equation which consists of Robert and conservation equation is built and verified through the ground burning test. PID and nonlinear adaptive control laws are designed to analyze the loop response characteristics under the system which has varying eigen properties arisen from combustion volume change. It is suggested that new approach, gain scheduling design, is required to overcome the defects identified from numerical simulation results of the two control laws. The newly suggested scheme shows good control performance even under disturbances and measurement noise.
