Ground control points are needed for precision geometric correction of satellite images, and the coordinates of a high-quality ground control point can be obtained from the GPS measurement. However, considering the GPS measurement requires an excessive amount o f t ime a nd e fforts, there is a need for coming up with an alternative solution to replace it. Therefore, we examined the possibility of replacing the existing GPS measurement with coordinates available at online maps to acquire the coordinates of ground control points. To this end, we examined error amounts between the coordinates of ground control points obtained through Daum Map API, and them compared the accuracies between three types of coordinate transformation equations which were used for geometric correction of satellite images. In addition, we used the coordinate transformation equation with the highest accuracy, the coordinates of ground control point obtained through the GPS measurement and those acquired through D aum M ap A PI, and conducted geometric correction on them to compare their accuracy and evaluate their effectiveness. According to the results, the 3rd order polynomial transformation equation showed the highest accuracy among three types of coordinates transformation equations. In the case of using mid-resolution satellite images such as those taken by Landsat-8, it seems that it is possible to use geometrically corrected images that have been obtained after acquiring the coordinates of ground control points through Daum Map API.

As we choose ground control points for aerial triangulation, we have a lot of problems in a mountain, a costal area, a desert, the foreshore etc because they don't have clear topography for control points and it spends a lot of cost and occurs problems of accuracy. In this study, we compare and analyze between ground control points from LiDAR intensity, digital map with ground control points from the field survey as doing AT each. As the result, the average error was ${\pm}1.02m$ from using LiDAR intensity, ${\pm}1.13m$ from using digital map. this result can present the control points from LiDAR intensity is 0.11m better than from digital map.

This paper presents an investigation into the operational comparison of SPOT triangulation to build GCP library by analytical plotter and DPW (digital photogrammetric workstation). GCP database derived from current SPOT images can be used to other image sensors of satellite, if any reasons, such as lack of topographic maps or GCPs. But, general formulation of a photogrammetric process for GCP measurement has to take care of the scene interpretation problem. There are two classical methods depending on whether an analytical plotter or DPW is being used. Regardless of the method used, the measurement of GCPs is the weakest point in the automation of photogrammetric orientation procedures. To make an operational comparison, five models of SPOT panchromatic images (level 1A) and negative films (level 1AP) were used. Ten images and film products were used for the five GRS areas. Photogrammetric measurements were carried out in a manual mode on P2 analytical plotter and LH Systems DPW770. We presented an approach for exterior orientation of SPOT images, which was based on the use of approximately eighty national geodetic control points as GCPs which located on the summit of the mountain. Using sixteen well-spaced geodetic control points per model, all segments consistently showed RMS error just below the pixel at the check points in analytical instrument. In the case of DPW, half of the ground controls could not found or distinguished exactly when we displayed the image on the computer monitor. Experiment results showed that the RMS errors with DPW test was fluctuated case by case. And the magnitudes of the errors were reached more than three pixels due to the lack of image interpretation capability. It showed that the geodetic control points is not suitable as the ground control points in DPW for modeling the SPOT image.
A new algorithm was developed to interpret joint orientations from a pair of images of the rock slope to overcome the limitation of photographing direction as in the parallel stereophotogrammetric system and to maximize the range of image measurement. This algorithm can be regarded as a modified multistage convergent photographing system. To determine camera parameters in the perspective projection equation that are the major elements in the photogrammetric technique, a new concept was developed by using three ground control points and single ground guide point. This method could be considered to be very simple when compared with other existing methods which use a number of ground control points and complicated analysis processes.

This article describes the methods of a decision of the location which user points to move by an optical device like a laser pointer and a moving to that location. Using a conic mirror and CCD camera sensor, a robot observes a spot of user wanted point among an initiative, computes the location and azimuth and moves to that position. This system offers the brief data to a processor with simple devices. In these reason, we can reduce the time of a calculation to process of images and find the target by user point for carrying a robot. User points a laser spot on a point to be moved so that this sensor system in the robot, detecting the laser spot point with a conic mirror, laid on the robot, showing a camera. The camera is attached on the robot upper body and fixed parallel to the ground and the conic mirror.

It is necessary to determine accurate 3-dimensional coordinates of the building corner points that could be control or check points in order to verify the accuracy of 3D digital maps in the near future. The usual process of obtaining the coordinates of the building corner points is to set up the ground control points with a GPS and then to practice terrestrial survey such as distance or angle measurements. However, since an error in the ground control points can be propagated through the terrestrial survey into the final coordinates of the buildings, accurately should be considered as much as possible. The actual effect of the GPS-derived ground control point error on the estimates of the unknowns through the terrestrial survey is mathematically analyzed, and the simulation data is tested numerically. The error of the ground control points is tested in the cases of 1-4 cm for the horizontal components and 2-8 cm for the vertical component. The vertical component error is assigned twice the horizontal ones because of the characteristics of the GPS survey. The distance measurement is assumed for convenience and the precision of the estimated coordinates of the building corner points is almost linearly increased according to the errors of the ground control points. In addition, the final estimates themselves can vary by the simulated random errors depending on the precision of the survey instrument, but the precision of the estimates is almost independent of survey accuracy.
This paper proposes a desired trajectory and a control algorithm for a biped robot with curved soles. Firstly, we derived the desired trajectory from a model called the Moving Inverted Pendulum Mode (MIPM) of which a contact point of the foot is moving in the horizontal direction. A biped robot with curved soles is under-actuated system, because it has one contact point with the ground during the single supporting phase. Therefore, to solve the under-actuated problem, we changed control variables, used modified dynamic equations and used the computed torque control. The simulation results show that a biped robot with curved soles walks stably. Also, fast walking and natural motion of a biped robot can be implemented.

The C-band omni-directional antenna for drone control is mounted on the top or bottom and used to configure the communication link. The communication link is affected by the LOS depending on the mounting position of the omni-directional antenna. In this paper, two kinds of embedded antennas were designed with a commercial simulation tool CST MWS, and EM analysis was performed to consider the mounting environment. Also, we propose the PTMP ground antenna to control a large number of drones. The ground antenna has a communication link of 30km, and it consists of four sector antennas in the horizontal direction and one directional antenna at the top.

To improve the efficiency and safety of railway systems, the train control system has been considerably evolved from the ground-equipment-based control system (e.g. track circuit, interlocking system, etc.) into the on-board-equipment-based control system. In addition, this train control system enables the rolling stock to intelligently control the trackside facilities by introducing the information and communication technologies (ICT). Accordingly, since the ICT-based train control system makes the railway system be simplified (i.e. the heavy ground-equipment can be removed), the efficient and cost-effective railway system can be realized. In this paper, we perform the feasibility test of the ICT-based train control system via a simulation. To this end, we have developed the prototypes of the on-board controller and wayside object control units which control the point and crossing gate and performed the integrated operation simulation in a testbed. In this paper, before the field test of the on-board-controller-based train control system, we perform the Consecutive operation test for prototypes of the on-board controller, wayside object control units and local control computer.

The most recent, 80 mega pixels digital camera appeared through the development of digital technology, and nonmetric digital cameras have been using in various field of photogrammetry. In this study, we experimented lens calibration using aerial photographs and ground control points. The aerial photographs were taken a non-metric digital camera which is CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 21.1 mega pixels sensor and 35mm lens at a helicopter. And the ground control points were selected on the 1:1,000 plotting origin data. As a result, we calculated focal length, PPA(Principal Point of Autocollimation) and symmetric radial distortion coefficients from the lens. Also, RMSE(root mean square error) and maximum residual of the ground control points from the aerial triangulation were compared before and after calibration. And we found that the accuracy of the after calibration was improved very significantly.
